We were greeted when we walked in but once we started looking around no one asked if we needed any help until we had been there for quite a while. The checkout experience was slow and the checker didnt make conversation so it was a bit awkward. I did see a sign saying that they were hiring so maybe they were just short staffed? Only one man was helpful and personable. Cool selection of stuff!

The store is very clean, the staff was friendly and whenever I need hiking gear or running gear this is definitely the place to go!

The store has so many cool things camping wise and just outdoor living nothing on the store here.. the CUSTOMER SERVICE though, first of all overly staffed with snubbish attitudes! Not kidding here I don’t know why I got overlooked but it took forever I wanted to try some hiking sandals the person working there asked everyone BUT me if they needed any help… I was clearly alone and he thought I was just window shopping but the other people still got asked. I finally approached him and he said “ make this quick I’m busy” the audacity, really!!! I stated I have small feet what does he suggest he immediately said kids… pick some and I’ll be right back.. I was there around the same time and I did not deserve to be brushed off to be honest everyone looks bored and too many people are working - the attitude was high. I finally got approached 30 min in! Super nice guy but took way too long

Always a great place to find gifts, outdoor clothes, travel accessories, kids books, toys, and games, outdoor shoes… it’s an interesting collection of goods and always fun to browse. Employees are also always very friendly and helpful. One of my favorite stores! The only thing that could be better is if they were open later on weekdays.

Where to start! Both Houston locations, cashiers are incompetent nanny state face covering prison guards. They should focus on customers needs/wants, and making sales instead of angering a paying adult customer who is capable of making their own decisions. Due to their political stance, they have lost my business forever. Must be nice for them to not need money. I would rate 0 stars if possible. I hope this review helps someone else decide they are not worth time and money. Other places are more deserving and to repeat, I will never step foot in their door again. Ever.

This place is always great to visit and everyone is always super friendly and helpful. They have everything you can imagine for the outdoors. From bird feeders to fanny packs to sun hats. What I didnt like was that the space is very hard to get around in if you are in a wheelchair. It was very hard to navigate with my partner and we had to move several of the clothes racks to get around. At one point my partner was engulfed by jackets to get by. I wish they would think about all people including non able bodied people that enjoy the outdoors. Another redeeming factor was a gentleman that assisted us in making the right purchase for my hiking boots. He was patient, kind and made us laugh throughout the process.

Nice but they will watch you like a hawk depending on your skin tone .. *cough cough*. I felt profiled but the store was very nice but chose to spend money elsewhere because I felt uncomfortable. Still very nice laid back store.

Whole Earth has a great selection of outdoor shoes, pants, t-shirts, jackets and sundries. They carry both the usual and unusual brands and I love that they have shoes for wide feet. Most of their clothes are made with lovely fabrics. Customer service is excellent. The big negative are prices. It is pretty expensive. Best to shop sale items.

This is a great shop for all kinds of outdoorsy things!They have a decent selection of kites and water toys - i had trouble finding kites in Houston, but found several here including a couple high-end ones for more experienced kite flyers.

As a long-time customer I cant emphasize enough how well WEP does with their customer service. My mother has a very difficult time finding shoes that fit and that are comfortable for her to wear. The staff in that section went above and beyond to help us. They were friendly, patient and very knowledgeable about their products. Shopping online is where the majority of my money is spent, but when you need real assistance, you shop at WEP. Thanks to everyone there that took the time to help. Very highly recommended. They have a huge selection of outdoor gear, although it is high-end stuff and priced accordingly. You will find quality products and will not be disappointed if that is what you were looking for. The staff is exceptionally helpful, almost too helpful for the casual browser. And you will be surprised to find out they carry quality childrens toys in one section of the store.

They had a lot of clothing variety and they seem very environmentally aware which I appreciated. The materials were of good quality but a lot of it used polysester which Ive always found incredibly hot to wear, regardless of it being breathable. Very organized shop and well kept.

My first time going to whole earth and I was very pleasantly surprised what they had to offer. I had no expectations and was not disappointed!! I went into just window shop but ended up buying really cool toys for my grandkids. The staff was very helpful and polite. Its a very eclectic shop but its fairly large and just about everybody will find something they didnt know they needed. It is a great place to just browse and find interesting stuff. Hop next door to Trader Joes and its a great way to kill an hour or two.

Decades ago my father found my Whole Earth Catalogue. He tried to order music box machines for one of his projects. I found his letter of complaint and refund. They have changed, but still retain that quality of eccentric overvalued items. The store is always stocked with clothing that must be worn somewhere other than Houston. They do have the camping gear you want and high end hiking boots you dont want to pay for. The staff is attentive and they keep a good selection of travel guides.

It is so much easier to shop at Whole Earth than most retail establishments. The stores sales people really know the stock and are at hand to guide you to your perfect purchase. A+++

I have been a fan of this store for several years and have spent a lot of money in it. I had an experience that I want to share in buying sale merchandise. I bought a shirt on sale for around $50 that I was on the fence about, but purchased it along with several other items. When I returned it the next day, they would not credit my credit card back. Their policy is that if you buy it on sale, you can only receive store credit back. Based on them offering high end merchandise I felt this was not a good way to treat customers.

If youre ever in the area, make sure you check this store out! Even if youre not looking for anything specific, youll find something you wont see in anywhere else. Its like shopping online, but in person! Its jam packed with trinkets and gadgets, some useful and some not so much but still fun to browse. I found some items pricey, but everyones budget is different. Go have a look, you wont regret it.

Great place to sit outside and a nice day. Guacamole appetizer was excellent. Lunch was so so. Am vegan so I ordered the black bean burger and was really disappointed. Was a huge pile of bean like mud ( with Indian seasoning, yuk) just falling out of bun. Had to disassemble the burger and scrape off most of the beans and remake it into an edible meal.

This store is way underrated. I did all my Christmas shopping there yesterday for less than $100, from my infant nephew to my 65 year-old dad. Flip-flops, kids puzzles, dog toys, weird gadgets & cute shirts for me. And more than enough friendly staff to help all the last-minute shoppers.

Whole Earth Provisions is a bit out of my budget, yet I still like to shop here as often as possible. They are one of the few stores in Htown, that actually has the natural, eco-friendly, clothing that I have been searching for. Actually their prices are pretty fair. It is the brands themselves that are pricing high. Yet, you get what you pay for & it is quality & good karma (customer) service. Appreciate all of the people who work there, specifically at the one next to Trader Joes on Shephard. Peace.

A very nice speciality shop. Emailed and asked for a specific type of shoe and size, which they had transferred to the Shepherd shop just because I was unsure of sizing! Packed with a variety of goods for any kind of need. Highly recommended!

This store is one of my go to stores when it comes to gifts and toys. The camping, apparel and foot wear sections are quite pricey but with good reason. They only carry top quality items. My only complaint is that the staff are often only concerned with the staff and not the customers but not annoyingly enough to make a big deal of it.

The folks at Whole Earth, hands down, have the product knowledge to get you into the right gear if you plan to do any real high country camping.

Whole Earth Provisions is one of the most captivating stores in Texas. My family will always take time to stop & shop here. Theres always something new and fascinating at Whole Earth Provisions. Its our go-to place for gifts, outdoor gear, footwear and countless other items. Their childrens section is loaded with an enormous selection of books, STEM gifts, puppets, dinosaur collectibles, kites and so much more. From quality sandals to exceptional hirings boots, the footwear department is amazing for all ages. Theres a fantastic selection of outdoor and camping equipment; as well as a clothing department that is completely worth checking out. Their book shelves are full of hidden gems and obvious treasures. While the store may have a sense of being curated to the taste of Houstonians and Texans, theres global feeling about it. Most importantly, the service is incredible. The staff is always helpful but never overbearing. Whole Earth Provisions is clearly one of my favorite places to visit and bring my family with.
