After visiting a few chain automotive shops. Excel Automotive Technology was highly recommend by a friend. I feel that Mr Jay has always been honest in my dealings with him. I have never had any problems with the work thats been done on my vehicle at Excel . And its been done in a timely manner. They dont wear masks at this location, nor is it mandated. However, they have installed shields at the service desk. The proprietor and staff are very professional, honest and respectful people and its reflective in their customers loyalty!

Overall super excellent service. Jay worked on my Lexus and properly informed me of any repairs that may needed to be done & what the cost would be. He ended up fixing my issue for a low cost & gave me some time to drive the car & bring it back if any issues still persisted. I have been going to Jay for car repairs and maintenance for 4 years. He has done two major repairs after car crashes and has also does our oil changes and regular service. Every repair and service has been done perfectly and the prices are very reasonable. Jay is very honest and is happy to talk to you through all aspects of the repair. Martha is super responsive and the shop is easy to get a hold of via text or phone. I trust Jays recommendations and work and appreciate how stress free Jay and Martha make car maintenance and repairs.

Excel Automotive’s paint and body work is truly amazing!I first learned about Jay and his team at Excel through a previous job at a local mechanic shop. A customer needed body/paint work on his red Mitsubishi 3000GT that had damage to the front fender. My old boss said that when it came back you wouldn’t be able to tell where it had been touched.... he was right.After many years of insurance work on my daily drivers... by way of Houston drivers, it was finally time for me to bite the bullet and have an old project of mine painted. Having worked in the industry, I was well aware of the cost and time involved with quality paint. The results were better than I could have imagined.Excel remains to be a place I wouldn’t hesitate sending my mom knowing she won’t get the run around. Thank you!!

Jay is my hero. Our family has been using Excel for over 18 years. My daughter who is now 20 brought her car in after a shady Mazda dealer in New Braunfels quoted her 6k to rebuild her engine. We towed it down to Jays Excel and he fixed it (he found it was only a sensor issue) saving us 6k!! Thank goodness for his honesty and his professionalism. Hes a car genius as far as I am concerned. I do not understand the mentality of the 3 one-star reviews because the majority of the reviewers gave 4-5 stars. Unless these people are expecting something for nothing. I took my car to Excel for the first time for two separate noises and a transmission fluid change. Being 75 yrs. old, Ive been through a few mechanics in my time - both the bad and very few good. Jay and his staff are one of the excellent! I was shocked at the cost - I was expecting to hand over my social security check. It was even less than he originally quoted me! And he found the very obscure noises my car had started making. I get a sense of caring about the customer first and foremost from Jay, the owner. Hes extremely reasonable and a very knowledgeable mechanic - charging a very just price. God bless him, he made my day! Do not hesitate to take your car(s) to him - hes worth it.

Jay and his team are second to none. Ive gone to grungy independent shops and fancy dealerships, and this is the just-right best of both worlds. You get the one-on-one attention of the smaller business, but the quality, honesty and professionalism that honestly beats the dealership experience. I enjoyed the 90 minute wait for my maintenance utilizing their wifi to get some work done in their air conditioned office. Clean bathrooms, friendly staff, fair prices. Cant go wrong.

Jay is honest! Moving to a big city we were nervous about finding an honest mechanic and thankfully we have found one. He’s been our mechanic for a couple years now and we even live 30 minutes away now, but still take our cars in to see him.

Literally the best mechanic I have ever used. I moved pretty far away in Houston and I still make the drive to come here. Everyone jokes about never finding a mechanic you can trust, but this place is the exception to the rule.

Another Happy Customer!!!I have a 15-year white Mercedes with much needed external work. After the expert repairs done by Excel, my Mercedes looks 10 years younger. They detailed the exterior, touched up the rust spots, sanded the front headlights to remove the yellow coloring, and cleaned the interior. The staff were wonderful, professional, and efficient. They greeted me with a smile and I knew that I made the right decision by choosing this company. The price was reasonable and I truly appreciated it.

This was my first time taking my car to Excel Automotive and they did a fantastic job! I decided to stick around and wait for the work to be done, and was offered something to drink, along with the internet password. I jumped on my computer, and before I knew it, the work was already complete. It was much faster than I expected. Ive definitely found a great place for my familys vehicles.

Its hard to earn 5 stars from me! But they won me over. I like the front desk, I like the courtesy of all the employees, I like Jays honest assessment. Most mechanics just replace and charge. Jays shop actually can provide solutions that prove he is actually thinking of how to repair your car, not just replace parts. Very rare. Hes worked on about 1/2 dozen of my cars over the years. I wont go anywhere else.

Had a great experience! I had a lot of work done to get car back to New since it was 7 yrs old (problem with car stalling, windshield replaced, TPS sensor, alignment, rear camera, brakes). I had a few things I had already priced at other shops. Excel beat all the prices. They fixed all my issues and even finished a day early. I will be coming here for any future car repairs. Staff was very friendly.

Absolute honesty and integrity. Customer always put first. Clearly differentiates between things that are necessary for safety and other things that can be postponed. Finds cheaper parts when possible, especially when even the cheaper parts will far outlast an older car. Will be upset if Jay ever retires.

I went to Excel to get my 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe serviced. The check Engine light was on. They gave me a phone call with the results and the cost to fix. I did some research and the description i got from Excel was exactly what my research yielded. I had some scheduling issues getting into the shop - but they worked with me to make everything work. A++++ 10/10 Would go back!

I brought my BMW 128i to Excel for the first time last week, to replace the RDC unit and some work on back taillights. Jay and Excel quickly diagnosed the problem with water infiltration into the trunk area (RDC shorted out) and fixed it at the agreed, reasonable price. I was very impressed with Jay calling me to provide updates, and the integrity and level of customer service !Would recommend EXCEL to others without reservation !

This garage earned my business because of the way I was treated from the very first phone call. Unlike the first garage who wouldnt give me an estimate of the repairs I needed done, saying they would have to look at it first...un hunh....Excel gave me a quote over the phone. I had the parts I needed priced already on my own before I even called and that price was the same Excel quoted me on..... Complete with the estimate I received, they were spot on with the bill. I took my car into them at 12 minutes after 8 for the rear struts. About four to four and a half hours later I received a phone call that my car was finished. Excel took the time and answered several questions I had regarding future repairs, and I was even able to look at the old parts that came off. (I just wanted to see just HOW bad my old strut was leaking). Over the years I have always waited with my vehicle while something was being repaired, however Excel is just open M-F, not on the weekends, which didnt really coincide with my schedule. I still went there though because every review I read had nothing but positive things to say about the business. They will have me as a loyal customer from now on if it is something I cannot fix on my own. I highly recommend this garage if you want honesty integrity and professionalism!!

Well i had called all around the shops,and everyone was giving me wishy washy pices,after i had specified i needed just to program de dash cluster,i called here and he was very clear on his price,very reasonable,i would defenetly bring, and recommend all my contacts to this place...

We took it in for for a sticking throttle body and instead of looking at it they wanted to replace oxygen sensor and the battery for $483. When we to take the car without getting any repair work done they charged us $52.50 to tell us what we already knew was wrong.
