My go to for biz lunches for me and sometimes staff. Love the counter items. Shrimp salad, chick salad terrific. Toasty granola rocks. Best of all is the staff- upbeat helpful and quick!

Got the chicken salad sandwich as a box lunch and all food was delicious. So glad to have a local place with great food so close to me!

Ive been eating here for years.All their food is great.So is the service and attitude.I love eating here!A friend is opening a new office near the Cafe. When I got there, I told her how lucky she was to have found her new place, because the PBL was just down street. I can wait for her to try your food. I am so excited. LolNow, I have an excuse to eat here more often. Lucky me.

I cant believe that I didnt visit sooner! I visited this restaurant as part of a Wheres Waldo search for local businesses, and I was hungry and nearby. There is adequate parking and some outdoor seating that was tidy. The freshly baked breads are displayed in the storefront. The display counters are neat and uncluttered. The interior has adequate seating and is simply decorated with local photos and flyers. There are local items available for sale.I had glanced at the menu ahead of time since I needed a dairy-free meal. One of the employees cordially assisted me with my order; he patiently addressed my plethora of questions and concerns. Sadly, he informed me that all of the breads contain dairy; however, he offered to prepare the sandwich using lettuce as an alternate wrap. He also verified which chips were dairy-free and omitted the troublesome cookie.My dairy-free lunch consisted of the Pork Tenderloin on whole lettuce leaves with pickled red onions and ample ancho mayo. I had a bag of Original Sun Chips as the side, and a bottle of water as the beverage. I dipped my chips in the remaining ancho mayo. My meal was a little messy but quite tasty. I plan to visit again!

Seriously one of the best “home-style” sandwiches EVER. We had the roast turkey, and it reminded me of my grandma’s sandwiches. Such good value. And the chocolate chewy cookie was to die.

Food is lite and fresh, just a little on the bland side for me.The box comes with a ton of food but not that much flavor.

Sandwiches are always fresh, the parmesean garlic crackers are unique and quite good, and the pimento cheese is probably my favorite thing!

Best chicken salad sandwich ever! Fast!

We ordered their box lunches for about 50 people and they were spectacular. We love how much food came in the box and the detail given to each one. This being our first time ordering, they arrived 15 minutes early to make sure they knew where they were going. Plus, they waived our delivery fee because we ordered lot of lunches. We will definitely be ordering from Picnic again!

Last week, a friend was having one of the worst days of her life. I insisted that she needed something healthy to eat and we headed to Picnic. My friend broke down in tears while ordering--because she couldnt handle anything that day---and the amazing person taking our order comped our meal.Not only was it delicious, fresh food---but that kindness was exactly what both of us needed on such a dark day.I cannot say enough about the generosity and grace shown to us that day---my friend needed to see good in the world...and the Picnic staff provided exactly what she needed.I will always remember this day, thank you, Picnic!

Did not live up to the hype. I went here because of the great reviews but I was disappointed. They had great breads in the window but for sandwiches you only got white or sourdough. My ham and cheese sandwich was really a mustard sandwich because it was so spicy and generous that all I could taste was mustard with different textures. I only knew there was a thin piece of cheese by visual inspection. The ham was piled in the middle in a big heap with bread touching bread all around it. I like my sandwiches to be uniform all the way across. It could have been good but was assembled poorly. My 9yo son gave his kids ham and cheese a 2.5 stars out of 5.

The food was tasty. The staff was friendly and observant. This place has a great atmosphere. If it wasnt far from my work I would come by more.

My husband and I love to eat here. We have tried pretty much everything and it is all great. Everyone has always been super friendly. We come early though, because the line can get really long.

I had to order 12 box lunches asap for a last minute meeting and Chris and Raul came through! The price point was great and sandwiches were delicious. One of our guests just said the cookie was great! Thanks Picnic Box Lunches. I highly recommend this spot for group meeting lunches. Dont be like me though and order last minute. Ill be back for sure.

Love this low key place. Great for coffee and a scone in the morning (at 10am) or lunch. Free wifi, open space for kiddos to move around a bit by the table, friendly staff and of course great food. Great for an easy box lunch catering option too.

We stopped here for a quick sandwich. It was our first time, and we ordered the chicken salad sandwich. It was super-delicious! I plan to return when we are in that part of town again.

The bread was good and I liked sun-dried tomatoes in the chicken salad, but it was otherwise just ok. The lunch box has a few too many sides (which I like), but doesnt come with a drink. Id rather have a choice of 2 sides and get a drink. Im really disappointed that there was rosemary mint soap in the bathroom since Im allergic. Service was ok.

Picnic is our go to place when we need a quick sandwich or salad to eat in or take out. The food has always been fresh and nicely prepared. The staff is friendly and remembers us by name.

We have lunch here everytime we are in Houstonn. The turkey avocado sandwich couldnt taste better. Their chocolate chip cookies are the best around. I got the chocolate chewy for the first time today. It was every bit as good as the CC cookie, just in a different way.

Never been to the restaurant but got delivery from them several times. The sandwiches are pretty good, particularly the Pork, Pimento, and Chicken Salad. IMAO the box lunch is kinda pricey.

Great little deli with tasty sandwich boxes. Tasty cookies. Clean bathrooms.

Prices were reasonable. They have so many great reviews for a reason.

Ive been here several times- Only have had the turkey sandwich box lunch. A little expensive, but enough food to split with my boyfriend. The fruit salad is delicious with a bit of mint. The bread is what makes the sandwich really stand out. The chairs are really uncomfortable- these vintagey folding type chairs, and the bathroom is very dark. Wish they had fountain drinks. One day I will try that blue cheese fig scone!

We have these lunch boxes catered to us often, and I am not impressed yet. The selection is limited and not creative. I guess if you are fine with the same turkey or ham and cheese sandwich you have had since elementary school then this place makes sense for you. I recently had the veggie sandwich and the small size of the chopped veggies made for a messy sandwich that was difficult to eat. On top of the fact that the veggies were not seasoned much and the mayo seemed non-existent. I cant believe people pay over $6 for these sandwiches, or almost $10 for a box lunch that is full of empty carbs and sugar that include lays potato chips, a tiny fruit cup and a cookie. Too many other delicious lunch catering options in Houston to give this attention it doesnt deserve.
