We called in advanced about getting simple tattoo’s the woman on the phone assured us we could get it. We made an appointment only to be turned down as the tattoo artist for the day said he was really busy (probably just didn’t want to do it) … even though the lady on the phone stated “there was only one appointment on the books today” disappointed to say the least. I was taken care of by Misty, she was attentive, tending to all my needs, and personalized the tattoo I originally into something far better! A very kind and accommodating artist, will be coming back to Misty for more personalized work :-))!!!

Im LGBT and i feared possible rejection upon arrival considering where my piercing was going to be located. I recommend this place to anyone and i especially recommend Arron. Got my first tattoo here. Went as a walk in was able to speak to Cameron and showed him a picture of my idea. He said he could do it same night. Everyone was very nice and the tattoo came out awesome. Thanks again Cameron. Will definitely be back in the future if I want more work done.

Went in to schedule an appointment and gave my deposit and was told by one of the artist to give them a week to come up with a design. I went the following week to my appointment to be told if we could reschedule til the next day because the artist wasnt there. So I came back the next day and again was told the artist wasnt there but that she was fired the night before. So a waste of time. I ask to get my deposit back and was told to text the owner and his name was Johnny to have never been called back What a waste of time and no apology or call from anyone especially the owner. Poor business!! Never again

At Texas Body Art, I had the best experience getting a tattoo, ever. This was my 5th tattoo. The lovely ladies, (Andrea and Katelyn) who greeted me when I came in, where very polite and helpful. Stevo was my awesome tattoo artist. He drew a beautiful, original piece for me. It was placed on my right calf. He was very professional and kind. I brought my headphones so I could listen to relaxing music, while I distracted myself, from the pain, by reading funny memes...lol. It took 2 hours, but it felt like it went by faster than that. I am extremely pleased with Stevos work, and the price of the tattoo was reasonable. So, I will definitely be getting all of my future tattoos done by STEVO!

Christian is now the only artist Im going to. He takes his time and creates beautiful pieces. My dad, sister, husband and I all now have tattoos done by him. I HIGHLY recommend checking out TBA.

2nd UPDATE:I was canceled on yet again just 2 minutes prior to my scheduled appointment. The reason (for the 2nd time) was that Tonys morning appointment was late and they had just began the tattoo and wouldnt be done for some hours. I dont see the point in scheduling appointments at a minimum month in advance if you wont keep to your schedule. Since this had been the nth time I was canceled on I requested my deposit back and was told it was non refundable. I chose to forfeit my deposit and not schedule another appointment with him and went to another tattoo shop instead. I have since completed my desired piece and will continue to go to the new place. I find it extremely unprofessional and disrespectful that after so many times of being canceled on last minute that I would be denied my $150 deposit although it was entirely not my fault. I wouldnt recommend coming to Texas Body Art unless you have the patience and time of a monk.UPDATE:I have been canceled on the last 3 appointments Ive made all within hours of my appointment. The last one that was the beginning of December and was told he would get back with me to reschedule. We are now in February and I barely was able to get a date within this last week for 3 weeks from now. I called the shop, text and called his personal phone and was ghosted for 2 months all the while the artist has been doing work on other people (receptionist told me he was busy with customers)! My deposit for my sleeve hasnt been put towards my finished pieces so I hoped to get my sleeve done and by the same person. He does great quality work and has done half of my sleeve but in random places. Now I have a patchy sleeve and dont know when we will ever finish the piece. Communication is all it takes and when a customer is clearly trying to work with you, then maybe you should work with them. Im now worried that Ill be canceled on yet again come my next appointment and itll take another year to finish my arm. This process started in August, so we should have been done by now.Tony did a wonderful job on my native woman. Im booked for him to continue on a full sleeve for me. The prices and quality are unbelievable for a business who wins so many art awards. My husband is in the process of getting his sleeve from Christian and the art is amazing. Cant go wrong by coming here. Well worth the wait and cost.

Amazing studio with amazing artists and a family atmosphere. Took some time, covid didnt help either, but well worth the wait. Tony B is truly a jaw-dropping artist, and they all are to be straight honest, but Tony went beyond for the style/design I was wanting and I salute this amazing artist. TBA definitely has the safety of the customers at heart too. Cannot say enough about this fantastic group of people. Thank you all at TBA - yall are truly a cut above.

I love this tattoo shop. Jake did my tattoo and he was amazing. The tattoo is beautiful and the service was awesome. He checked with me throughout to make sure I was okay, he only took a few breaks, and he takes great pride in his work; and it shows. They have great safety measures for COVID, every one sanitizes constantly and they provide you with all the aftercare information you need if you haven’t had a tattoo before. Temperature checks are done the minute you enter and they sanitize every thing you touch. Everyone there is so nice and welcoming; it’s wonderful. If you are in the market for a tattoo or piercing this is your place. I didn’t get a piercing but my best friend did and she said the same service and care is done on that side too. Oh and the prices are fair and good. If you want a tattoo go see Jake or any of the artists there you won’t be disappointed. Highly highly recommend them 😊

I took my son here to get his first tattoo when he turned 18. The artists are very professional and I like how the businesses has rules about what they will not do. You can tell that they value their reputation and quality more than money. Its a rare gem in this day and age. Keep up the good work over there, you now have a customer for life.

You dont expect a tattoo shop to be cleaner than a doctors office, but Texas Body Art is. Their protocol for compliance with Covid-19 guidelines is no less remarkable than a consultant would put in place. They maintain strict adherence to policies and procedures that ensure the well-being of their clientele. I was seriously impressed.As for the tattoo, owner Johnny Jackson spent as much time on the front-end, determining what I wanted in terms of what was viable, as he did on the work itself. His expertise was a given; I had seen what he created for a friend of mine as well as his renderings online. Johnny made something beautiful out of an old tattoo that I hated, and I could not be more pleased. If you want the best, this is the place to have it done.

Terrible place to do business. Do not put a down payment of 100$ cash and sign their contract. They will steal it and you cant withdraw it back, they only let you reschedule. They manager is very difficult to attempt to converse with so dont waste your time like I did. Good luck

Best tattoo shop in Houston! Tony does amazing work. If your looking for great work go here, you will need a appointment with most of them. They dont do many walk ins but Im not sure because all of mine are scheduled appointments. Its the only way to go, remember its on your body for the rest of your life so taking time and paying more isnt that big a deal. You buy a 20 thousand dollar car that last ten years dont cry about a few bucks for something that last a lifetime

The place is clean, sterile and all the artists I have encountered go to great lengths to make sure everything is done in a sterile environment. I have several pieces of art done by the owner and I couldn’t ask for more. My daughter has gotten her first 2 tattoos here and is totally happy. He has always listened to me and made sure I was happy. If you need a tattoo this is THE PLACE to go.

Wow. I’ve been around this shop for a lot of years and it’s always been a solid shop with good artists but my last visit was impressive! The front desk staff was super polite and helpful and the artists were personable and professional. Shout out to Mark over there. I walked in as he came on shift and he put together a pretty incredible rose for me. This place is running like a machine and was just a fun place to spend a few hours.

I went to several tattoo shops in the area to kind of get a feel for the options and while every one I went in to was clean and professional, Texas Body Arts staff went above and beyond the others in being friendly and welcoming. I spoke to Justin on our first visit, who took the time to sit down and talk about what I wanted to do even though they were in the middle of a shift change. Some of the other people we spoke to at other tattoo studios were pushy about changing the idea I had and adding other elements that I really didnt want. I could tell Justin had experience and he wasnt pushy with his suggestions. He helped me choose a better color profile for the tattoo and suggested adding grass as a base to root the tattoo, but his suggestions came off as actual advice from a pro not as a sales person trying to alter my idea beyond recognition.I made an appointment for the following week and expected to spend several hours in the chair as one of my previous tattoos which was a lot less ink and detail took around 2 hours. Justin didnt use a stencil. He drew the tattoo right on my skin and asked me for my input at several stages. I made suggestions of how I would like it changed and he modified it for me. When the drawing was done to my satisfaction he started doing the actual tattoo and I anticipated a lot of pain due to the tattoo being on my ankle. I was surprised that it was no more painful then any of my other tattoos and it only took him a total of just over an hour to draw, modify and then do the actual tattoo.I love my new tattoo and I will go back to Justin and Texas Body Art for my future tattoos.

After a small altercation with a scheduling issue I was personally contacted by the owner within a matter of a day or two and it was handled extremely professionally, sadly due to a limited time frame we were not able to reschedule but the manner in which this was resolved left me extremely satisfied with the manner of which this business is ran. I hope the next time were in the area we have a bit more notice and would love to get tattooed by Jay considering the overall quality and pricing of his artwork.

Was recommended so I called before I drove down from The Woodlands. 12 minutes on hold & hung up. 2nd call, 15 minutes on hold and hung up. I did finally get my answer; my daughter is too young for them to pierce her ears (nobody under 13).Edit to respond to the owner: I called from the parking lot and the woman behind the desk put me on hold. After 5 minutes I walked in; she was chatting with someone about personal, non-work issues.The only reason I went as far as I did to attempt to be a customer was because I really trust the tattoo artist who recommended yall.

I absolutely love TBA.I started my sleeve here four years ago next month and I get compliments regularly on the saturation, lines, and attention to detail. My only other piece (as of now) is my thigh piece and I also got that done from TBA. I am more than pleased with both pieces, they did a phenomenal job.I have recommended friends and family both here and they have all been satisfied with the work here.Also, I LOVE BEN. Ive seen other people who got snakebites somewhere else and they were crooked. I have received a tattoo and a nose piercing and have I am in live with both. Aaron did my piercing and walked me through every step. I felt very comfortable from the time I walked in to the time I walked out. I would give this place 10 stars if i could. After the piercing was done Aaron went the extra mile to make sure I knew exactly how to clean my new piercing. This is not my first piercing and I actually learned a new technique. Wife and I came here for tattoos recently. We had researched online but also got recommendations from people we know who have been here. The strip center they are located in is a bit run down, but the store itself is clean and in good repair. Everyone was friendly and happy to give suggestions to help us get what we wanted. We didnt get anything too complicated, and the prices were pretty on the mark with what we expected. The artists are amazing - they display samples at their stations so you can get an idea of their style and skill. We were really impressed and we love our new tattoos. Definitely going back again as soon as possible.

Amazing artist on staff, clean environment, call in ahead for walk-in unless your okay with a wait but aside from that dont feel obligated to the first designs make sure you love it and not like it, this could be on your body forever. As long as you have this in mind your sure to come out satisfied.

Just got my helix pierced on both ears yesterday, and my experience with Ben was great. Ben did an awesome job; he explained the process to my mom before showing that all the equipment was sterile and packaged. He talked throughout the whole process, telling me what he was doing, and it was all good. All in all, deserved a 5 star rating. I was pretty nervous to get it done, because it took a lot to convince my parents, but even my mom agreed that she felt a lot better because Ben knew what he was doing. If anyone is looking to get a piercing at Texas Body Art, I totally recommend Ben !

I got my tattoo done done about two months ago by Travis. I originally had planned to go to Black Pearl but after the manager and an artist facetiously mocked me to my face when I asked him whether or not I should make an appointment and showing him my design, I was immediately turned off. I asked a few of my friends who had gone to TBA before about their experiences, and with raving responses, I went up on my 18th birthday to get it done. The tattoo itself is a design that I did a few years back that Travis then turned into a stencil - I asked him to clean up the lines to make it look uniform and he did just that. He didnt try to persuade me to go a different route or change my design - I felt no pressure which was good considering I was unfamiliar with the whole tattoo process. I figure I should mention that the tattoo was on my foot facing me. It says imagine as an ode to John Lennon, which is why it was important that I was able to read it regardless of whether or not it was facing the correct way to other people. Travis understood this and again, didnt try to change my mind. The reason my tattoo ended up costing $80 was because it was on my foot and a difficult angle to be tattooed at I suppose you could say. Cost wasnt an issue because it turned out so beautifully. It almost looks like it was done with an ultra-fine Sharpie pen because the ink was spread so uniformly and the lines are all the same super-thin size. I have recommended Travis and the whole shop to many people and the friendly but professional and sanitary environment was a huge relief after visiting the Black Pearl and having the owner flippantly laugh in my face. My first experience was certainly enough to convince me to return when I desire some new ink.

We were greeted immediately upon entry and once paired up with Travis, he was realistic and helpful when working on the design with my wife. I could tell he wanted what was best for his client. I had the best time ever here (this was my 1st experience). Very professional and warm, friendly environment. I walked in thinking I might not get tattooed that day because I didnt make an appointment but Travis had some free time on his hands and got started with my tattoo right away! He was so friendly, talkative, and super funny. I cant wait to go again.

After doing some research, I decided to go to Texas Body Art to have my dermals removed from my back. The girl at the front desk was very nice and immediately went and got the piercer for me. Aaron was the piercer there during my visit. He was very kind and welcoming. I was very nervous about getting my piercings removed, but Aaron put me at ease and insured me that the pain would be minimal and it would be an easy removal. I felt very comfortable because I could really tell that he knew what he was doing. The equipment and room were also very clean. He talked me through what he was doing and always asked if I was doing okay while he was removing the piercings. The removal process was as simple and fast as he had described. Aaron did a great job and really knows his stuff! I would recommend him to anyone who wants a piercing or piercing removal. I will definitely go back to Texas Body Art. Thanks Aaron!

Ive been coming here for years. I have used both locations for my piercings & tatts. I was out of state for 2 yrs & refused to get another tattoo where I was. My husband and i have been wanting tattoos for awhile. I had previously had my navel done by Ben and i loved the look, feel and cleanness of TBA i knew thats where i wanted to get my tattoo. We went in on a Wednesday and Gavin was the tattoo artist that was available. He talked with us and gave his ideas, we booked our appointment that Friday! My husband got his done yesterday and it is so realistic and 3D! we are 100% satisfied if you need a tattooer i recommend Gavin!

I have been coming here for over a year now pretty frequently to get my sleeve done. I have been to both locations - HWY 6 & Jones Rd, following Jason Romair my tattoo artist. Both locations are super clean, laid out great, and most importantly - the staff at both locations are great people. If you are looking for a quality tattoo and a great atmosphere this is the place to come. Hands down a 5 star for sure! All the artists are great, but I am bias towards Jason :). I just left this place for a nose ring replacement and IT WAS AWESOME. My nose ring had come out and I could not get it back in and the team there was sooooooo helpful!. They sterilized my ring, put it back while teaching me how to do it, and gave me some tips on how to continue to keep my piercing clean. The team is very knowledgeable about their service, and has lots of options to choose from as far as rings and stuff. WONDERFUL overall experience and would return in a heartbeat!! Thanks guys!

This is the only place I will get my tattoos from! I got 2 and was very pleased with the whole experience. I am fixing to get a very special tattoo, a portrait of my brother who passed. Theyre the only ppl I trust to do it. The person who left a comment about them refusing to tat her hands, I find it even more refreshing to know they dont do it until 25. If the poster did her research, she would the find that many wont tattoo hands or face until either a certain age or a good amount of work is already applied. Fat, lazy, and incredibly rude. There wasn’t a single person there that was kind. Excuse me for not knowing about tattoos since it was going to be my first one. They didn’t want to help me think of something or draw it up. I wasn’t taken seriously at all. Don’t go here, there’s plenty of other places that will help you through the process but this one definitely won’t.

Literally only needed to purchase a nose ring replacement. Literally wanted me to wait for fifteen people to *be pierced* before selling me one. FIFTEEN. Absolutely ridiculous. Artcrime on cypresswood was attentive and actually cheaper.

Got my first tattoo here. They were very friendly and helpful. I came in very nervous and they made me feel very comfortable. Definitely recommend.

Got a simple that’s literally the size of my index finger and i had to pay 110. Smh never coming again, too pricey for a little ass tattoo.The last girl who got a medium tattoo and was charged $60 so i don’t know why i was charged so high.

This rating is for Ben, he is a wonderful piercer. He took the time to order jewelry for my girls septum and hooked her up with a ball (that she lost and needed) for her existing jewelry. Hes awesome and very professional.

Dont believe everything you read on the internet. After providing a rendering and a $100 deposit, after 6 months all I got were two tattoo artist renderings that were nothing more than a quick cut and paste of images from the internet. A true disappointment from a studio that is supposedly highly rated in Houston and the country! Find another studio to work with.

I have been going to the pierce artist, Ben, here a few years now. He is very professional, knowledgeable and honest. I would recommend him and this shop for any of your piercing needs.
