Left a comment on their instagram after there was a tattoo posted with a misspelling. I was immediately deleted and blocked. Not sure how Im the bad guy for pointing out that the work the customer paid for was spelled wrong. Glad to see thats how he keeps his high ratings and positive comments, by deleting any kind of concerns.

Went here for my first tattoo about 3 months ago. Me and my husband went there to get wedding bands. It didnt take long for Oscar to draw up a design great for our 3 point crowns and start tattooing. Thought it looked great at first but at a closer glance my tattoo wasnt symmetrically even and parts of the outline have a mix of thin and bold lines and husbands tattoo has faded out since then. Although my tattoo came out sort of messed up the atmosphere and people were really nice and were patient with my husband and I.

Joey was great!! Very nice, experienced, and a perfectionist which I REALLY appreciated! He knows what he’s doing and my ear piercings turned out great.

Awesome initial visit with the Owner. I talked and he listened well to what I was looking for and wanted to do. He started designing my vision right away. With a good idea what I wanted he communicated that to the actual artist. Ivan then took over and finished the design process. He is very talented and takes time to do very well what I wanted. I found him to be a straight up, no nonsense individual over the next 5 and a half hours. The results were spectacular. I could not be happier with the finished product. I would pass up every other place in town and get to Prison Break. They are the best in town. Hands down !

I stopped by Prison Break tattoos last night. I wanted to talk to someone about a potential tattoo. I went there SPECIFICALLY because I wanted a tattoo to honor my friend, fallen officer Sgt. Kaila Sullivan. The sign said open but the door was locked. I saw someone walking around inside, so I called the phone number twice, but no one answered. A jeep pulls up that says Prison Break Tattoo. I wait for a minute for someone to get out, but no one does. So I start to back out of the parking lot. A man gets out of the jeep and walks down the sidewalk, so I stopped. I can see his reflection in the window. Hes standing behind a truck with cones, like hes waiting for me to leave. I wait for another minute and when he keeps standing there, I just start backing out. As I pull away, he comes out of the shadows and places the cones out, blocking the parking spots for the tattoo shop. So I did a U-turn and pulled back up and rolled the window down. I said Excuse me, sir, are you with the tattoo shop? He said No. Im not. I said Oh, OK. I was just trying to get some information. Thanks. And as I drove away, this jerk takes a set of keys out of his pocket, and unlocked the door to the tattoo shop and walked in.Thats $500-$1000 I wont be spending there.

I have watched a lot of their TV programs and these people are cool. Very caring and compassionate. Funny too! 🙂

I love this place! I went in and got 3 tattoos! They were able to create what I wanted. BK was very courteous and professional. Ivan my tattoo artist was fabulous and very talented! The artwork was worth the price! Im so in love with my new tattoos! Definitely recommend Prison Break, be prepared to wait for an appointment. Totally worth the wait! Email BK today and set up an appointment. Ivan’s work was well worth the wait! The shop was clean, and BK is personal with his clients. He truly made sure we were getting exactly what we wanted, and did everything he could in order to get us taken care of. Save your money, and go get a piece done.

This was my first tattoo. Ivan was incredible. Hes a great artist. Hes super friendly and hilarious. The shop was very clean and I loved the decor. Prison Break Tattoos is the only place to go if you are a first responder or family member. I am so proud of the badge that Ivan did for me that memorizes my late husbands life.

I highly recommend going to prison break tattoos to have your work done. I drove a good distance to come get my first tattoo done here and I am absolutely in love with it. My son just received his first tattoo for his 18th birthday, what an amazing experience and fantastic work.

When you walk into this place youre really going to think youre in prison (in a good way).The owner (BK) is very creative and artistic, you can tell just by walking in. Hes great, courteous, and professional!I was initially scheduled for 7p, but fortunately I was able to be seen earlier than that. I brought a picture of what I wanted, but I told them that I was open to any ideas. My guy whos name I totally forgot was extremely helpful and attentive to how I wanted this tattoo too look on me. My tattoo took about 4hrs and my guy always checked up on me and asked me if I was okay or if I needed a break. I was very satisfied with the tattoo and the experience.The staff is friendly and the service is great. The area is clean and not cluttered. After the tattoo was completed, my guy cleaned it up, spread ointment, bandaged it up, and gave me instructions. The only thing that threw me off a bit was that my guy used Saran Wrap and Scotch Tape, rather than a sterile bandage to absorb all the sanguineous fluid that was leaking from my fresh wound. Plastic just goes against every element of wound care.Overall, I would recommend this place for its cleanliness and quality!

Absolutely love Prison Break Tattoos!Alan Wolfe was a breath of fresh air walking into a tattoo parlor! This is my 2nd and 3rd tattoo at Prison Break and I will never go anywhere else!! Alan is funny, super talented and has a super steady smooth hand for tattooing! He did tattoos for myself and 2 friends the other weekend and was amazing at helping us finalize what we were all wanting! He was patient dealing with my 2 friends who couldn’t make a decision lol!! Not to mention he was fun to be around! Needless to say, he will be our tattoo guy from here on out and wouldn’t trust anyone else! His work is awesome!

I love the owner and what he stands for. I highly respect that and how giving he is for first responders. Absolutely great of them. However, I had a horrible experience here. I got my first tattoo here and it was great, just a simple outline of Texas. Then I came back for a quarter sleeve of a map of the world with a compass. The entire quarter sleeve took 40 minutes maybe less. I’ve had tattoos smaller than a palm take longer than that. The artist was talking to his friend the entire time and not focused on my tattoo. When I looked at it the map didn’t even make sense because it wasn’t even stenciled. It was free handed of a made up map. Just lines that made absolutely no sense. Within 6 months the tattoo was already faded beyond belief and parts of the compass just looked as if it wasn’t even there. Then he decided to charge $600 for a 40 minute horrible job of a tattoo that I had to get redone. I still look at it with complete disappointment to this day several years later. I hate to write this because I have respect for the shop but I have to say it.

Im only giving 4 stars because I have yet to come in for Ink. I love your show and how safe everyone feels being transparent with their stories. Im Canadian but you can bet that I will be in a chair one day soon. I love how every artist brings something different to the table. I will want my fur-babies portraits done with their names. 🐾 Im in Veterinary Medicine myself and hope Im the first to get some killer ink from your crew. Oh where to start. Brian “BK” was awesome. I knew what I wanted but didn’t know how it would all go together exactly. The anchor was a last minute thing that he had some good advice on sizing and type. Alan did my tattoo. I can’t speak highly enough of this guy. Being that these were my first tattoos he made me feel so at ease and he has a smooth way he tattoos that I barely felt anything. I live in College Station and I’ll gladly make the drive to come back for more work. Alan even offered to back my truck out of the tight parking space. Thanks guys!!!

I have never been to your shop but I am watching it everyday on TV. I am really wanting to get a tattoo from you. My feelings about the tattoo I want is very emotional. My dad OD almost 6 years ago. I did a lot of research and visiting other places before choosing Prison Break. My son wanted a tattoo after he turned 18 and I was looking for cleanliness, customer service and talent...all 3 are hard to find in one place! We communicated with BK over the course of several weeks discussing everything and scheduled our appointment. We got a flat tire on the way there and called to let them know. They were understanding and patient and told us to still come in. We got there an hour later than we planned and the experience was seamless. We both left with a tattoo and Alan was wonderful! He gave clear instructions on after care, as well as his personal number in case we had any questions or concerns. We were well attended to and definitely knew we were his focus the entire time we were there.

Loved this place. It was a very great experience. I called during the week and was able to get 3 appointments for a Saturday afternoon. When we got there everything went smooth. We loved the atmosphere and the place was the cleanest I have ever seen in a tattoo shop. They worked with our design to make them just the way we wanted and more. Although I was kind of being difficult where I wanted the tattoo the owner answered all my questions and helped me decide. Ivan was my mothers and my artist he was a goof. He fit right with me and mothers craziness. Not to sure of the artist who did my brothers but he did a great job also. Best tattoo experience. Such an awesome place! After being told no from multiple shops for a finger tattoo cover up, I came across Prison Break, I sent them an email, and they told me to come in so they can take a look at it. I went in and the guy was super cool about everything and said they were able to do it. Simply wonderful customer service because I had not even thought about what I could get and he had so much patience. And my tattoo artist was quick and so soft with his application, i did not hurt nearly as much as my 1st one. Absolutely awesome decor as well 👌

Not happy I am the daughter of an HFD Sr Captain 30 years of service who passed in 2016. I was calling to schedule an appointment to have a tattoo done to honor my Dad. This was the 2nd time trying to work with them & months ago I sent the photo of tattoo, neither time was I called back.

We went there yesterday and got thin blue line tattoos to celebrate our anniversary and are so glad we did!! Super cool and clean shop and the staff were really friendly. So, Im not your typical clientele for this studio. I was looking to get my ears pierced for the first time ever, and I called to ask as many dumb idiotic questions as I possibly could. These guys were respectful, understanding, and explained everything to me in a professional way. I called a few other studios and they were total jerks. Lets just say I quickly decided this was were I wanted to go. I brought the whole family to the studio and they pulled up three extra chairs so my family could sit and be with me. True gentleman and true artists, they made sure I knew what was happening, kept things sterile and clean, as well as, made sure my piercing was done quickly and painlessly. Im so impressed and my whole family was too! Thank you guys for putting up with me and for being pretty much amazing during the whole ordeal. I love my piercing and would highly suggest this location for a fun, clean, professional job.

Rude people and horrible service. My husband went by last night and a woman called out to a guy that happened to be there that there was a potential customer. The guy looked as if he was leaving and he made it clear that he had no time to discuss anything with my husband. He bluntly said were closed. My husband responded with, oh, what time do you guys close? He responded with now. On here, the time says open till 10pm on Saturdays and it was about 9 PM. To that point, my husband just wanted a little bit of info in order to possibly make an appointment and have something done but the guy was very rude and condescending. Needless to say, we will never return. My husband went on to another tattoo parlor that actually gave him the time of day. My recommendation is to not waste your time. If theyre rude and condescending BEFORE youre a customer, imagine later... smh.Updated response: The short 2 minute conversation was only as short as YOU let it be. And to clarify, no number, card, nor name was ever given. As for the profile, Im not exactly sure what your speaking of? Google has the times clearly posted on here and the website provided on the Google site only shows merchandise for sale? As a business, one would think the hours would be a bit more clear for customers to see or understand.

Ive been following prison break for a couple years now- Before hero ink, before the remodel, and I knew I wanted to get my first tattoo from them.I emailed the studio in July, and set an appointment for my birthday in August. Throughout the process emails were responded to so quickly that had I not asked questions, Id have thought that there was instant reply on their end- in reality they just are great at responding to contact.I went in unsure of what to expect, and really nervous because every other tattoo studio has been off putting. When I walked in for my appointment, I was greeted right away. BK was on the phone, and my artist was still on the way in however the receptionist was there and let me look around the studio. Honestly, that made me feel at ease almost instantly. As soon as Bk was off the phone he came over and introduced himself along with my artist Alan.I had a general idea of what I wanted, and discussed it with Alan. He was really honest with what colors WOULD work with my skin tone as well as what wouldnt. My biggest fear was that I wouldnt be able to get color (being black I didnt know if it was even possible) but he made red work! We then talked design. He let me know too many flowers and the words would get, that wording should be a certain size, etc. then drew up a design that I loved instantly.When I got on the table he joked with me and again, helped me feel at ease. We got down to it and he knocked it out in about 1.5 hours. We did take a break in the middle, which I was greatful for.As I was gettin my ink, another family was in as well and watching BK and the other artist interact with them melted my heart. You can tell that this is a place where they CARE about their customers as well as their work. There was pride in every detail, and detail to attention.The studio was clean and spacious, but best of all was the decor. Coming from a law enforcement family, and hopefully going into LE myself its incredible to see a place dedicated to the men and women behind the badge. Ill gladly support Prison Break Tattoos for as long as I possibly can.I will definitely be back for more ink in the future! Thanks for the work guys.Grace C

Just received my surprise birthday tattoo for this shop. Allen hooked me up with a sound wave tattoo. BK and his crew were very friendly and helpful. A woman called the shop while we were there asking if they could help her out, she was leaving another local shop due to them ignoring her and her blind friend. The two ladies arrived at Prison Break moments later telling there story. The crew at Prison Break treating them with high respect and courtesy. Great job guys!!

I live overseas, but was able to go back home for a visit for one month. I really wanted to get a half sleeve done while I was there, though I knew that would be somewhat ambitious. I contacted BK and told him my ideas and he was incredibly helpful and kind. He hooked me up with the extremely talented Brandon who was able to make my tattoo idea come to life in a way that was even better than I imagined. I was a little nervous because this was my first tattoo, but the guys at Prison Break put me at ease and I always felt like they were honest and ran the business with integrity. Now that Im back in Asia, everyone who sees my tattoo is amazed and they think it is a sticker at first because the art is so good and the colors so vibrant! I have even had people stop me to take pictures of my tattoo! Just giving u a great review from watching your show and every one is talented there are good Tattoo Artists naming it Hero Ink sounds great as the men and women getting the tattoo why they are and sharing which can be hard reliving it but in the end the healing process is still raw and the memories are still there

Owner is an amazing guy, I talked to him when visiting Texas from Colorado but plan on coming back out just to get work done. Great guy and great set of morals and the shop was absolutely spotless.

Was denied tattoo work because they was about to film in the store. As you can tell from photo gallery if the tattoo isnt first responder related its not all that important. Its all about the show now instead of the artistry . To each his own but I found 3rd generation 10x better. Sorry but wouldnt recommend here anymore....Update: I changed my review from positive to negative due to a bad experience the second time since Google reminded me about my past reviews. I felt like as a review my opinion needed to be shared. But as you can see by the owners reply, he does not take bad reviews very well and insults you in this most unprofessional manner. A simple sorry about your experience would have been more professional at least. Reviews are to help other people know others experiences and this was mine. Prison Break made me feel like a VIP and family from the moment I contacted them for my tattoo coverup. My piece is AMAZING and I am excited to begin planning upcoming projects with the guys!On a side note: as a nurse, I appreciated the insane cleanliness of everything, and I felt beyond comfortable with all equipment being used. I have friends/family always concerned with these factors when tattoos come up, but that just shouldnt be the case with Prison Break...they have got you covered!

I have family in law enforcement that referred me here. It was truly an awesome experience. Called for an appointment and instead of just telling me they were booked they gave me a time to call back and when I did they told me to come on in. Im used to most shops giving you the run around but not here. I got a chest piece with my daughters foot prints and Allen my artist was a downright bad ass. I honestly havent stopped looking at my tat yet. The work is by far the cleanest Ive ever had. Keep up the good work guys and preciate the hospitality you guys showed. Will be back for sure.

Great experience! Me and my wife chose to go on a date to this place. It was her first tattoo and my second. The owner and staff were very helpful and guided us through the process. We were unsure what we wanted to get. The staff created our ideas and we left happier than we thought we could.This will be the only place I will ever get a tattoo or recommend anyone to get a tattoo. Shout out to BK and Oscar

Was in town for the Superbowl...Chris was my artist, wonderful job . Fast and outstanding job. Even had a few beers w me afterwards. Highly recommend him. U will be happy.

My wife had talked to the owner earlier this past week about doing half sleeves on us both. She had explained to him what we both wanted. He told her to have me drive up today and they would get started on mine today. After driving from Texas City he looked at what I wanted to do and told me to come back next time to get started. So we are not getting tattoos from here now. Everything we seen on the internet about this place was great. No doubt they have great tattoo artists there. That was the main reason I was wanted to go there and didnt mind making the drive. Passing up main tattoo shops on the way. I just really dont like for people to waste my time, on my one day off every two weeks plus my gas.

There are not enough stars here to represent how wonderful BK and his staff are. After following their Instagram and Facebook for awhile and seeing all the great work and reviews, I decided to surprise my husband with a trip to Houston for his bday to get a tattoo he had been wanting. Upon arriving we were instantly greeted by Brian, the owner, himself. He takes a few moments to get to know you, where youre from, what youre getting, and introduces you to your artist. Ivan and BK worked together to make sure the size was perfect for the location. My husbands tattoo took 2 days. Over the hours we were there, we felt right at home. I had been contemplating getting a tattoo as well... once they finished my husbands they said hey, you traveled all the way from Portland, lets just squeeze you in! Ivan easily could have left for the night, instead he stayed and helped personally draw up what I wanted. He then proceeded the tattoo which took another 2 hours on top of all the hours he put in on my husbands. I have tattoos from 2 other shops near home, and have never encountered this welcoming, caring, polite staff AND owner ever. We will be traveling the 4.5 hour plane ride back for any other work we decide to get. Thank you BK and Ivan. We couldnt be happier about our choice to come out and give your shop a shot.

Prison Break Tattoos was recommended for a soundwave tattoo but was I ever under prepared. All I had was the voicemail, BK worked with me and the VM for an hour and voila!! My experience at this shop was as if my mother and I were not of value to the owner or employees. I never said anything because it was my first tattoo and it was small. I figured if I ever do a large tattoo they would be more likely to treat me like a valuable customer. However, over the past months I have noticed the owner to facebook tag his shop in his good deeds. I am 100% for good deeds. But I strongly feel that he only does things to promote his business. When I have made small, non-threatening remarks he has never once responded. In fact I just checked and I believe he has deleted them. So it is no surprise to me that he just “banned” me from his page. Instead of discussing his perspective. He states that my claims about the service are invalid bc it happened a year ago. I can only laugh as I tell you of this.I suspect he will try to invalidate this review as he has other unflattering reviews. But the facts stand.

Myself and my husband have had tattoos done by these folks. That are amazingly kind even told me because I was having some discomfort, no problem just come back and we will finish the work. My husband tattoo was filmed and put up on FB.

Just watching the show, all that work in that shop are very talented.... I know where I will go for my tatoos I would like to get......

BK,The best thing about you & Prison Break Tattoos is that you or your artist never “ body shame “ Short, tall, skinny or chubby, stretch marks, scars etc. Every customer is treated with respect and made to feel comfortable in their own skin!!! First rate artists who do amazing work

Set up an appointment and began my tattoo a month ago. Due to time constraints in my schedule, I wasnt able to have it all finished in one session. Just finished up my final session and I couldnt be happier! Extremely professional shop, and hands down the best shop Ive been to. BK (owner) was very easy to stay in contact with, and schedule appointments that fit my schedule. I drove from Odessa TX (8 hour drive) to get my work done here, and I would drive farther if I had to, just to get work done here. My artist (Trey), was awesome. Trey does absolutely amazing work, and makes the process extremely easy. Easy to sit here and get work done when your artist is easy to get along with. I would give them a higher star rating but the sight onl lets me give a 5 star. Absolutely recommend to anyone wanting to get a tattoo whether it be your 1st or 10th.

It’s a clean shop and the way they styled it inside was pretty neat. But, it’s stuffy and overpriced. They’re not very welcoming, and their minimum is apparently $100. For a small script, for which Chris sped through, that should have been $80. I am by no means new to tattoos, so this isn’t a novice review. They appeared to be a clean shop, but they don’t look at IDs (or copy it for the health department) and they don’t ask any questions regarding prior meds, conditions, allergies, intoxicants, etc. While this is on them and is really only a potential issue for them if somebody comes in and says “let me see your paperwork,” it says something about how they do business in general. The tattoos we got were nicely done, but I won’t return here. I have a feeling that this was a situation in which they upcharged a couple of girls because they thought they could take advantage of. But clearly they get enough business otherwise. My recommendation: don’t go here if you want a friendly vibe, appropriate precautions, and reasonable pricing.

I would recommend Prison Break Tattoos over any place!! They are talented and clean.

Absolutely nailed the artwork that I wanted for a first tattoo. I will be returning to add a little color.They are a little $$$, but well worth the experience.

The place is fun and the theme is different. However, the tattoo I got there is awful. It sucks so bad and mine was a simple one!. The color is all wrong and he colored OUTSIDE the lines. Really? Thats pretty basic. Very disappointed and will never go here again. This was also the most expensive tattoo Ive ever gotten. To sum it up; they are way too expensive and do terrible art work.

I have a 20 year old black tattoo that I have wanted to cover for a long time (upper left breast) plus a small one on my back that needed new ink. I thought getting the small one done would be a good test for a place I had not been to before. The owner was great as I also mentioned the cover-up I was thinking of. We came up with a design. Allen did the line work for the cover-up, about a 4 x 3 piece. Very clean lines! I needed time to think of the colors for the cover-up, so Allen re-inked and added highlights to the small back tattoo. That was April 1 and a week later, I have healed nicely and cant wait to go back.

Got a small tattoo here. It was pricey for such little detail and work. Paid $120 for a 3in. long by 1in. wide tattoo. Plus another $80 for a touch up that was a circular shape that was not circular or centered. Payed for a mistake and shouldnt have to. This artest do fine work; but the manager who doesnt tattoo and makes the prices up; needs to be more considerate to costumers.

Just finished getting an epic screech owl added to my Texas wildlife sleeve. Met with BK, the owner, prior to today and instantly felt like I was in the right shop. Ive got well over 30 hours of ink, this is by far the most professional I have enjoyed receiving all around. My artist for this piece was Allen, dude is unreal. He made sure to measure twice, cut once, asked the right questions, and got us on the same page, then he knocked it out of the park. Looking forward to my next appointment.... Already scheduled in two weeks!! If you want a shop for high caliber ink, this is the spot.

If youre new to getting a tattoo dont go here! If they see that youre new theyll try and screw you over, extremely over priced. Chris was my artist and he charged me $900 for a tattoo with quality that wasnt near worth $900, friends/family saw my tat and said you paid $900 for that!? he rushed through the tattoo, then not only that he tried to tell his boss that the charge was $1000 not $900 even after the crappy job he saw that he did, so he tried screwing me over more which shows what type of person he is. You would think me going into their business and agreeing to pay that much money that I would get an excellent outcome of my tattoo, thats far from how my experience with this place went. Then when I told him about the flaws in the tattoo he advised me to come back and hed touch up on it, but I refused to go back, he viewed me as an easy come up and I have no respect for him for that. Lesson learned for sure, im in the process of removing that tattoo now. And Im only saying this because I wish I wouldve known before I went, biggest regret. I trust NO ONE at this point.

After reading reviews, Id love to give this place a better rating, but Im sure sure if I should blame my experience on my race or just the terrible customer service I was presented with. I have 6 fairly large tattoos covering most of my body, so Im not new to the world of tattoos. When I entered the shop it was because I intended to get another tattoo in a city Id just moved to. Not the case! The guy at the front desk was not friendly. When I asked if he had any artwork books to look through, I recieved a very rude, NO! I tried to explain to him what I wanted & he gave me short very snappy answers as if I was ruining his night by just being in the shop. Im a very short, thin, soft spoken women but this guy spoke at me like I was not welcomed & possibly a threat to business. My boyfriend, who said nothing the entire time, was with me and he got the same vibe. He said it was probably because of our race. Hopefully not, maybe the guy was having a bad night, but Im 24 years old &I have never been treated like that or felt like I wasnt good enough. I frequent Kong Fu which is across the street & every time I look over at this shop I cringe.
