I never write reviews but chose to write one for Modern Furniture based on my recent experience. I just bought my first home, and I went to stores all around town. Majority of the stores I visited either had a small selection or their prices were significantly outside of my budget. Karen at Modern Furniture went over the type of furniture I needed and made every effort to accommodate my budget. The large ticket item was a large living room sofa. Although several in the store were under consideration, Karen also provided several catalogs with customizable options to select from. Karen ordered the piece for me and communicated regularly on delivery updates. The staff delivered and installed the sofa with ease. Since the largest part of my budget was spent on a sofa, Karen aided in selecting other pieces that matched. Thanks to her help I was able to decorate my new home within my budget. Based on previous negative experiences buying furniture for apartments from other stores, I wanted to leave this review thanking Karen and everyone at Modern Furniture. The process could not have gone smoother.

I ordered a product from this store and could not return it, the seller said that this was a special order, but when ordering, he did not specify that it would not be possible to return it, it’s good that I didn’t buy furniture from them, otherwise it was also impossible to return it, since almost everything in this store is a special order, very disappointed!

Beautiful furniture but a bedroom set is almost 7k. Too high for furniture thats probably made in a sweat shop by people being paid 1.70 a week. Karen was nice and friendly.

Think twice if you want to buy here, I bought a very expensive desk there, when they delivered it was scratched on the top of the desk, and they said they will replace the scratched part, 4 months later, I still waiting, I just moved to my house, so I start using the desk, after 1 week of using it, one piece of paint fell down, they said there is nothing they can do, and the only option is to send somebody to fix it at my own expense. They push a lot to pay it in cash, so I dont have coverage from my credit card. Ive been buying a lot of furniture for my new house, and so far this is the worst post sale service.Just to add to my original review, the Desk was deliver to my NEW house, never was moved from there, what I told them is that I NEVER USED until I moved, they delivered in November, I moved 3 weeks ago, so after only 1 week the desk was damageMore than 2 years has passed and they never deliver the defective piece

Due to Covid-19 I was not able to take any delivery and when thing were little better i requested them to make my order right and was told by the same gentleman i spoke with earlier its been 2 months and we cannot do anything but you gotta pay for the new ones to add to the mess they were charging me the delivery for the mess they made. I dont know what to say but i dont think this is how business is done.

This is the best furniture store for modern and contemporary style furniture. We recently got a new house and had the entire house furnished from here. They have a really good variety of very trendy furniture. Tommy(owner) was awesome. He gave us really good prices. We really appreciate him helping us out with any issues we had. He was willing to work with us and give us reasonable options. The furniture is beautiful and we were very happy with the overall experience.

Prior to going to Modern Furniture, I patronized another furniture store for 20 years. I am quite loyal when I find what I like. I happened to venture into Modern Furniture and I am always impressed with how outstanding the showroom looks. Im greeted with a hug and a smile. Tommy is always willing to work with the customer to provide great customer service. I furnished my condo in the Four Seasons with the awesome Michael Amini Overture Furniture from Modern Furniture. I get so many compliments. Now Im remodeling three (3) rooms in my home in Pearland and I purchased another Michael Amini bedroom set from Modern Furniture. I ordered the furniture and it arrived before my contractors had completed the remodeling. No problem! Tommy stored the furniture for me! I went in to get a sample of the color to match the paint. Tommy went out of his way to get a ladder, cut me a piece of the panel that I purchased and happily gave it to me so I could match the paint. Being a business owner myself, I understand why it is posted on the window prior to entering, no photos, The person who had an issue with this could have saved herself the discomfort and read the sign before entering. Most furniture stores prohibit photos. Thats not new news. Thank you Modern Furniture for the most beautiful showroom Ive seen which drew me away from the other furniture store I had patronized over 20 years. Your place is always gorgeous! You and your staff are always welcoming and accommodating as possible and I appreciate all you do to make my experience exceptional. Im new to the Houston area....building a house & looking for furniture to fill it. I was greeted warmly by Luis (not sure if thats his correct spelling) but from there my experience turned bad. I have a husband who is away alot but wants to be apart of the entire home building experience to include decorating so I go to alot of places to see what I like take pictures of things to send to him to get his input. I took 1 photo & Luis was nearby along with some other workers then proceeded to look around more stop to take a 2ND photo & Luis tells me company policy is to not allow customers to take photos. He couldnt give a valid reason as to why I explained my situation he still did not care. I asked if they have a website & if it showed all the things that were displayed in the store. Instead of focusing on my question he told me things that are on display in the store are their for a reason so you can come to the store to look at it even though I already explained to him that my husband isnt available to do that. Needless to say I left & will not be returning for anything at all!

Due to the fact that one cannot rate 0 stars, I am assigning 1. Modern furniture is hugely overpriced, and to make matters worse, they judge customers based on looks. I had been eyeing some velvet purple chairs and a purple rug for months. Although a bit pricey, I was willing to save for the purchase on my meager teacher salary. Since I dress professionally Monday through Friday, the weekends are reserved for letting my hair down--knee length shorts and a t-shirt that may or may not match. I guess they assumed that I couldnt afford anything, because of my sub-par look. On more than one occasion, I noticed how the employees/owner, through nonverbal cues, were totally offensive, as they guffawed behind my back, as if to say that I could not afford their products. Coupled with the fact that I was raised differently, I learned as a bank teller during my college days that you never judge a book by its cover--the old cliche is timeless and altruistic. Needless to say, I went right across the street and purchased the same items for almost half the price. My chairs will arrive in a few weeks--so excited.
