Great bagel shop that sells individuals as well as sandwich’s and such. Food is great but coffee selection is ok - nothing to die for there. I would highly recommend the bagels and spreads as well.Plenty of seating inside and outside on patio. Parking is tricky given location.

Don’t even get me started on this place dude !!!!! Had a latte and bagel and it was $8 and some change. Super affordable and delicious. Made sure to tip well because the staff is SUPERB! Friendly and they work so quickly. They have lots of seating, provide face masks, hand sanitizer! Outdoor seating was nice as well. Just great place overall. I’m sold, thank youuuu Golden for the greatest bagel experience I’ve ever had

The fried egg bagel sandwich was not that good it needed some sort of sauce or something because it was a little dry. The the bagel with strawberry shmear was so good. The coffee was good too.

This place is amazing! It is the one and only place in Houston we can find genuine bagels. We drive 20 minutes just go go here! It is such a shame its closing on Sept 26th. Come visit before its too late!

We rode our bikes here from the White Oak Bayou trail and this was our halfway spot at 13 miles. The place had a steady stream of customers wanting to get their hands on fresh baked bagels. I had the avocado bagel and it was outstanding. They didnt have the best coffee but it was still good.

Tried this place several times but can’t do it anymore. The food looks good but then the odd mix of flavors with the sweetness just kills it for me. They sweeten their savory cream cheeses and they even sweeten their butter. It makes no sense and tastes so odd. Sugar and everything seasoning doesn’t work. Sugar and lox doesn’t work.

I ordered the everything bagel with garlic cream cheese. It looked better than it tasted. I love that theres everything seasoning heavily on both sides and even that it was cut into fours but the consistency and taste of the bagel was more like sourdough. Id also suggest adding salt to the everything seasoning. It was pretty bland and the garlic cream cheese was mildly flavored.

This is becoming our favorite place to come for breakfast on the weekend. The Salmon bagel is excellent. Service is efficient and welcoming. It gets crowded sometimes but it’s because they’re really good!

Yum and fun.Portions seemed a little sheisty but what they lacked in size they made up for in flavor.Everyone here is super polite, the menu is creative and fun and offers a little bit of something for everyone.Ambiance is great. On a pretty day even right now theres a decent little seating outside on the sidewalk.I highly recommend. Great folks and great place. Go see him... Theyll do you right. Im even told that they have a cosmic vending machine that grants wishes, low interest rates and an increase on intelligence quotient and sex appeal if the price is right?! Who knew 🤷🏼‍♂️

Golden Bagels quality is superb and they went the extra mile to ensure our office has fresh bagels each week! (They even individually package our order for a COVID safe grab-and-go setup). Jane took the time to listen to all our needs and worked extensively to create a seamless process. I truly appreciate her patience and attention even though our account is small!

Usually this place is good but they are not consistent. My last order (including a few previous orders) had burnt bagels and my other bagel was stale. I tried to contact them through their website and they never contacted me back, so Im not happy about their customer service. Also, not trying to sound like a Karen but how do you burn a bagel, think its acceptable and then place it in our bag??

While it didn’t wow me, they had decent bagels. Compared to other places I think the prices are not that bad. The bagels on the other hand were okish. One of the ones that I ordered was quite dry. However the place has a nice vibe to it and it is good place to hang out or maybe get some work done in the morning.

Cute spot in the Heights with an outside (patio) eating area. I absolutely love the wooden tables and chairs. I ordered a cinnamon raisin bagel and dark roast coffee. The food was okay but the coffee was just like I like it😊. Much improvement is needed in the area of customer service or maybe it was just the young lady who helped me. They should wear name badges so one can be specific about any staff providing service. Although it took 12 minutes to get my order, they are pretty fast about getting people with to go orders in and out.

I liked it! Coffee tasted good black, which is how I judge it at first taste, and bagel was yummy. I had a cinnamon bagel with strawberry schmear or cream cheese whatever you want to call it... and iced coffee. Stopped off the bike trail and they have a nice covid setup. While everyone waited in line I just stood there and did my order online real simple. No contact. No problems.

Great customer service - the staff are friendly and helpful with answering questions and making suggestions. I had a breakfast sandwich on a Biali (baked instead of boiled for a more bread-like texture - recommended for sandwiches). I added the avocado spread, bacon and tomato. My egg was perfectly over easy with a slightly runny yoke. The avocado and tomato made for a messier sandwich, but it was still delicious. My lavender latte was a perfect addition to breakfast. Definitely a place I will visit again.

Chill heights breakfast spot with bagels and coffee, just like the name. Staff was very friendly and the establishment was trendy and light with great community vibe. The parking is behind the restaurant and you have a rear and front entrance. If you like bagels or coffee, check this place out.

This place does not have the best bagels or customer service. I called in an order. 1 everything bagel toasted with plain cream cheese, 1 garlic onion bagel toasted with butter, one coffee with cream, and a bag of 6 additional bagels to take for later and . Thinking that this place had good bagels. I stood in line for pick up, no one was at the pick up table so I stayed in line all the way to the register. I saw someone else bring a bag to the register as I was still in line and thought I think that might be my order. When it was my turn at the register, the cashier told me I had to wait at the table for pick up and asked another person to help me. This person could not find my order, Neither the cashier nor her even looked at the bag that was next to the cashier that told me to stand by the tables. Well low and behold..... that was my order. total time waiting..... 20 minutes. I got my order and went to my Jeep. and this is the description of my order, coffee was not hot, neither bagel was toasted and neither bagel was fresh. the butter did not even melt on the onion bagel. They were so tuff, I could have pulled out a tooth to bite it and broke a tooth trying to chew it. I got home and check the bag of bagels and they too are hard. unevenly cooked, think on one side and thin on the other and 2 are almost burnt. Not a place I will revisit.

Neighborhood coffee and bagel shop. I tried before on weekends to come here could never park. I came on Monday ample parking. The service is excellent the coffee and bagels good. There is almond milk for vegans.!orders’ at the counter and seat yourself.

The coffee: The cortado was smooth, lukewarm, very light bodied, and a bit sour. I wouldnt say it was necessarily a bad coffee, but it really wasnt for me. I wouldnt ever find myself wanting it. It also gets no points for presentation.The bagels: This is where this place really failed for me. I got a toasted chocolate chip bagel without any spreads. This is something Ive gotten from many places, and almost always enjoy. What I ended up with was the worst bagel I have ever had. It was dry, bland, and seemed stale. If I couldnt see the chocolate chips I wouldnt have believed they were in there. My friends said their savory bagels were okay, but also said it may be due to the huge amount of cream cheese they slather on (which is good since their plain cream cheese is a little pricey for cream cheese). There just wasnt anything good about my bagel.

Bagels sandwiches were okay. We tried the everything bagel and the honey whole wheat and they were okay. I feel like the honey whole wheat had no flavor. The bagel dog was also okay. The chocolate chip with strawberry spread bagel was good but not anything special.

The kitchen is hidden, so not sure if they boil these like they should. But the result is an exterior that has a great crunch but is just too hard to chew. The inside is soft and doughy. The balance is off. A few tweaks and they could be pretty good. Still a ways off of NY Bagels.The place is nice. The only downside is the side parking which turns into a mud pit when it rains --basically all the time in Houston.The wait is terrible. Long lines and slow service. They have a ton of people working so not sure what is going on there.Cold brew on tap .. pretty cool. Will try that when I go back in a while to see if they have improved the bagels.

Let me start off by saying that I love the food here. They have arguably the best bagels in Houston. However, I would really like to see them improve in terms of speed of delivery. It took over 15 minutes for me to get a bagel and lox, and this is a a consistent issue here whenever I order. I think they need to hire more people order work on their logistics. Recommend the food, but expect to wait.

I enjoyed my coffee and the staff were helpful, but my breakfast sandwich was relatively inedible. I unwrapped it immediately and the bagel was super soggy and dripping grease. They give you a bonus fruit cup with the breakfast sandwich, which was a nice surprise, but I essentially paid $10 for a small cup of fruit since my sandwich had to go right in the trash...also, another review mentioned something surprising in their fruit cup that led to an exchange, so Im a little apprehensive about eating that...

I ordered $38 worth of bagels this morning from their website (since parking over there is horrible). I ordered at 9:16am and was told on the website that it would be ready at 10:20am. Then I got a confirmation text saying it would be ready at 10:33am-10:43am. I got another text at 9:39am saying Postmates was on the way to get my order. Guess what, I never got my order, or an update. I gave them until 11:10am, then called and asked where it was. The man was friendly and researched that my order was made, and they claimed they gave it to a driver. But since I ordered through Golden Bagel’s website, I don’t have communication with the driver. They said they could refund me or bring me my bagels, and it would take another 30-45 minutes LOL. Please do better with your Postmates partnership. There’s no accountability here. Please do better.

I am totally disappointed! Bagel tasted old and i ordered a salmon bagel it was $16.00 with a coke. Normally a bagel comes 2 sides both with cream cheese, capers, slice of tomato and salmon but this bagel only comes with a very small portion of salmon on one side made to look like a sandwich. I feel ripped off and will not even give this place a second thought!

Best bagel I have had in a while! Of course it was well presented and I had a egg sandwich on the bagel, with cheese and bacon. Very tasty! Also really enjoyed the vanilla latte ( not overly sweet). Also reading reviews that complain about parking shouldn’t stray you away from coming here with time. The customer service is exceptional and hard to find that nowadays. Really nice clean space! Will be returning soon to try the lunch options!

I have frequented this place as a delivery driver and the menu selections always looked delicious. I finally tried it today and I was highly disappointed. I ordered a garlic bagel,toasted with cream cheese, and bacon, egg and cheese bagel, and 2 plain dark roast coffees for $23.The food was terrible. The garlic bagel wasnt toasted, was chewy/rubbery,and smothered with watery cream cheese everywhere. The coffee was watery and burnt. I am very disappointed. Good luck if you plan to eat here

The bagels here are amazing, I love that there’s plenty combinations of flavors to choose from savory to sweet. They have a really good nitro Katz coffee on draft which is a plus. The only downside like all the places in the heights is the limited parking and on the weekends it can get pretty busy.

Made my first visit to Golden and could not have been happier. Golden fills a much appreciated void in the breakfast/lunch space of the Heights restaurant world. Great house-smoked salmon and delicious bagels in a casual atmosphere - I couldnt ask for more. They are still settling in to their popularity but I expect even better things as they mature. Dont let the line deter you from coming! The line moves quickly and the food is worth the wait. We got the egg bagel sandwich which was really good and they have a great variety of bagels and spreads to choose from. Im also a huge fan of any place that has Katzs Cafe De Olla cold brew on tap! Overall this is a great place for breakfast in the Heights and we will be back soon.

I love coming to this place! This place has the BEST breakfast in the hieghts! I was a bit worried about how the pandemic was going to affect them as a business. To my delight, they opened back up and have been giving the same great service. These essential workers are polite, quick, and always willing to make things perfect! They all wear their masks as well. The cashiers always wash their hands with anti bacterial liquid and they also had some dispensers out for the customers to use! They are really trying to do their best during these very difficult times.I really cant say same for the other customers. Lot of people just come up without their masks and its a shame really. As safe as the staff tries to be, youll always see too many people come up with excuses on why they cannot wear their mask.Thank you so much for trying to keep with the ordinance that was placed and being as patient with all of us.

This place is and always will be a go to, the staff are always super friendly and especially during covid times they are doing their absolute best to ensure safety for everyone. I’ve been there a few times where customers were very very rude to the staff and even called one of the very ugly names when the staff politely asked for them to put a mask on. Every time I’ve gone up there the staff are always sweating their tails off making sure to get orders done and out. I just feel some customers should be more patient especially with the millions of walk up orders they get even though there’s MANY signs asking to do online and call in orders to avoid minimal interaction with customers for safety. Please keep up the great work ladies and gents who work the restaurant, your hard work is definitely appreciated.

Solid new choice for breakfast in the Heights. Bagels were tasty, eggs and bacon were good, and the fruit cup was fresh. Top that off with Katz coffee and makes a nice morning. Seems like they have also worked through some of the kinks at opening as we didnt have any issues with timing or service.

The food here is pretty decent, but I’ve had it happen 3 times now where I order a bagel with toppings to-go, only to get home and find out my toppings never made it on to my bagel. Check your bagels before leaving the store!

I have been here a couple of times. I am not sure what is happening with their flow of orders coming in and out, but 15 minutes for a cup of coffee seems a bit much. On the second occasion the 2 bagels I ordered, not sandwiches took over 20 minutes. Also, these are SO far from New York style bagels. I have no doubt they are made there, but they are not good. No flavor and no chew. Maybe its that they are the only place in the area? I dont get the appeal.

Went in early one morning before work. Nice place. I ordered a garlic bagel with Lox, capers, onions, tomatoes, and cream cheese. For the side I chose the fruit cup. All was good. Didn’t go together though. The fruit cup had basil and other seasoning. Tasted great, just clashed with the lox. Didn’t get any coffee. Just iced tea. Will get coffee next time.

Bagels were hard and they ignored my instructions to go light on the spread. The order took 40mins to get are good but it took 40 mins to get an order of plain bagels. Recommend ordering at least 30-60 mins ahead

Coffee is great. Ingredients too. Bagels just always seem to taste more stale than you would hope (even at 8 am in the morn). I’ll still going, but would be a nice fix.

Great food, but customer service felt rushed and didnt fully deliver. We ordered 2 breakfast sandwiches but the wrong bagels were used. It was still delicious, just a little disappointing. We also ordered 6 blueberry bagels to go, and were handed a bag with only 3. We waited to get the attention of the girl handing out food, and explained the mistake, to which she replied, oh yeah, I was supposed to ask if you wanted 3 different ones. The paper bag was closed so if we hadnt double checked we wouldve gone home with half our order. We requested 3 sesame seed bagels to substitute, but ended up with 3 bagels that tasted like onion 😅. We will more than likely go back just because the food is THAT GOOD and hope our first experience was just one bad day.

I love this independently owned bagel shop. They are very passionate about their bagels and coffee. The bagels are very tasty and range in variety from chocolate chip, blueberry, garlic onion and etc. They also make their own cream cheeses in house and some of my favorites are strawberry, scallion, garlic, lox and etc. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend this establishment to any bagel lover in Houston.

Great bagels, best in the heights for sure. I do recommend you just buy a dozen and then get the schmear to go rather than having them do it for you. Saves you some $ for tip.

This is by far my favorite bagel place. The staff is always friendly and uplifting and the bagels are fresh, the wait is short, the atmosphere is calming, and the overall experience just brightens my day. Ive had the classic salmon bagel and about every combination of toasted bagel and spread. Ive never had a bad experience. My favorite order is dealers choice so they can make whatever they choose. Its always been a great way to start the day.

Great coffee and the bagels are yummy and they have nice sandwiches. I love the chill vibe here, and I like to come here with guests or to get a bit of work done. However, on a pure bagel comparison, I still think Hot Bagel Shop wins out. Overall, if youre looking for coffee and a nice place to sit with your bagel, Id come here instead.

I contemplated on doing this review, i feel as if its very necessary though. despite the food being kind of decent the employees are very rude. I cant remember the other employee who i dealt with. BUT i do remember one alaina. She will be the reason i will never give this business my money EVER again. put your employess in check! being rude for NO REASON isnt fair to poeple who were NEVER rude to her!!!

Five dollars for a latte. Before tip. Using Katz coffee which is one step up from diner coffee. Obviously it was weak/flavorless but also served too hot and it also had no foam. That’s the price of an excellent latte with nice dense foam from a good coffee house in the city (Catalina, Black Smith). These guys have no idea of the correct temperature nor the fact that LATTES HAVE FOAM. As a result why charge that much for bad coffee? I’m now driving to Boomtown to get a coffee that is good for the same price. Revival - please reopen soon!!

I wish there was more bagel shops like this in Houston! The place is beautiful, its a fantastic atmosphere. Best place to lox on your bagel! My only complain is theres hardly any chocolate chips in their chocolate chip bagels. My husband and I will definitely be back!

I had the salmon sandwich and my partner had the make your own Ruben. The sandwiches were both yummy. I love this area of the heights. The cost for two sandwiches and coffees for both of us was $30 before tip. For the cost I would say it is just ok. I would go again and get the bakers dozen for $13 and take them home

I just moved here from NJ so I was elated to find a NY style bagel place. The service was great, the food was good. They arent fluffy airy bagels with a crisp outside like I am used to but they also arent grocery store bagels either. They have a pretty limited choice of bagel flavors. Also, I prefer coconut milk as my milk alternative and they only have almond, skim or cream. I will definitely be back cause they are the best bagels I have found in Houston & I love a good bagel. The place is also new so maybe they will start to have more milk alternatives and special bagels that are different flavors.

The best! Interesting options for cream cheese, which I love, the roasted garlic is my favorite. Huge bagels and a nice spot to sit outside and eat. Can get very busy on the weekends so probably expect a line.

I love going to golden bagels! My local watering hole - with the best, foamy, creamy ALMOND LATTE in TOWN. Look no further and RUN to get one. I like the get my bagels hollowed out here - everything else is good.

I go to this bagel place often because it’s walking distance from my house and I love bagels! It’s usually okay, but the bagels themselves are never outstanding. However, I went this morning on a Thursday when normally I go on the weekends and they definitely taste like day old bagels. Very stale, honestly horrible.

This place has fast service...even if the line is long! All the servers have cool tattoos as well. Bagels are good. I like the everything bagel with cream cheese. Its the best. I havent tried any other bagel but Im sure they are just as good. The coffee is also good. I would go here again. I like it. 2 thumbs up.
