This place is EXTREMELY expensive. Do not waste your time.Never saw a single employee.
I have driven by here forever. I was impressed by the range of things available items. Religious items, curiosities, rare books, and even garden statues. A great stop to buy or just browse. The staff welcoming and helpful, but also happy just to let you wander and look through the vast array of antiques, and elective junkA
This place is a gem of an antique store tucked away in The Heights. If you are in the market for classic yard furniture, light fixtures, Houston specific collectibles or just cool old stuff in general...you will not disappointed.
The selection is... Interesting, but not inspiring. I strode through this place without being tempted to buy anything other than a hand drill. They do have a pretty good outdoor selection of architectural items (doors, windows, cornices, etc) but some of these seem to be in pretty bad shape... Due to being outside. And the prices? Well, theyre a little ambitious on their valuations. My advice? Skip it if you are looking for furniture, maybe include it if youre looking for bric-a-brac or tchotchkes, and go there if you want antique doors and windows. You know, go there and try to negotiate a better price. I cant say anything about the firmness of their pricing as I did not buy anything, but it struck me as the type of establishment that might take umbrage at the temerity of a patron to suggest that their prices, perhaps, were not holy writ passed onto humanity through these divine shopkeepers. But thats just a general feeling I have after having been to hundreds of similar establishments...
A hidden treasure! Very authentic shop with lots of unique items. Great place and wonderful owner, very supportive. One of the best antique shops I have ever visited.
Learned about August Antiques through a Facebook post and drove three hours to shop there. They had posted some pictures of some religious statues I was interested in. Its a great shop with a wide variety of items at pretty reasonable prices and friendly owners. Bought several religious items, a wood pedestal, and stained glass the first trip, then came back for more. A great find!
Great little antique shop with a nice variety of unique items. Tom and Linda the owners are really wonderful people.
Leather bound editions of classics. A lot of work by Charles Dickens. Rare editions of Jane Eyre and other classics. They have Dostoyevskys Brothers Karamazov in leather bound. All for under 20 dollars. Will keep coming back.
One of the best Antique shop we have ever visited. It is a very unique shop with varieties of genuine products. Religious statues and old books were my favorite. One needs several hours to see everything. Mr. James Weaver, (owner) is a true gentleman, genuine, kind, and generous. We did not have to bargain at all. The price was just right. Our only negative comment is that the temperature inside the shop was ‘very hot’ due to Texas summer. The heat really did not matter to us at all especially when we saw so many antique items reasonably priced! We will continue to visit this place again.
Lots of interesting items to shop, antique doors, ironwork, windows, lighting, along with antique toys, books, furniture, etc....also the sales people who worked there are super nice and very helpful.
Walking on the trail nearby we noticed this antique store and dropped in to look. Wow! This is not your typical antique store - they have an extensive collection of old and rare books, antique, Art Deco fixtures like lamp covers, hardware, sinks, doors, windows, and at the moment lots of beautiful vintage Christmas decor. The store is much bigger than it seems from the outside and they have a lot of architectural salvage on display, as well as a huge selection of vintage ornate religious artifacts. Take time to wander through both buildings and their outdoor display area. The owners were very friendly and I was greeted by Sparky, the resident cat. Actually talked to one of the owners who told me they took this cat in after he was dropped in the area. Hes living the good life, happy and healthy. That speaks volumes about the kind of people these owners are.Like I said, not your typical antique store where there are consignment booths and everything under glass. Very interesting items, so I took some pictures to show what theyve got. This is my new favorite business in the Heights!
Professional very nice treat you like a person
FRIENDLY. If I was going to buy anyting I would go here. But I am selling. So if you are in need of ooooollllld cherry wood furniture. CHANDELIERS. REQUEST PICTURE N INFO. BUT THIS PLACE TAKES me way way way back. Visit if you are in the area.
A lovely antique store with just about every type of antique you can think of. I especially enjoyed looking through their large collection of Catholic Church statues and antiques. The shop is situated along a beautiful street. Definitely take a walk around the neighborhood after you visit.
This store is incredible. A great selection of books, huge section of medical books. A selection of religious artifacts like nothing I’ve ever seen. Always lots of unique items at great prices. Frankly, I’m reluctant to review it because I don’t want more competition for the good stuff. There aren’t many stores like this anymore. There are also incredible architectural pieces. It’s kind of sad because so much of the old Heights neighborhood is being demolished, and it kind of feels like picking over the bones. But, at least these things can continue to be enjoyed.
FANTASTIC
Hidden little 💎, super friendly and a wide selection of old stuff!
Pretty hot due to there being no a/c but I cannot lie when I say there are some nice pieces of history there. Ranging from a load of coca cola products to old painting and books. Has a little of everything except dolls, mask and clothing. Was a nice little visit besides the heat.
Really cool selection of antiques. Definitely will be coming back.
Cool spot! Like a museum. Lots of collectables from books, Catholic pieces, medical history, old tools, and garden stuff. Could spend all day here
This place is such a treasure trove. We have bought the most wonderful antique lighting fixtures from James and Ben. What I love about this place also is the service. Ben even came over to my house to install a light on my ceiling when I didnt have a ladder tall enough. These guys are the best.
A lot of unique antiques. Their old book collection was the best I have seen around town. Their old oil and gas signs were also very impressive.
Great antique shop in the heightsVery wide variety of articles. Wonderful selection of vintage Christmas decorations. The owner is very helpful and knowledgeable, especially concerning Houston artifacts
Antiques and shops are two of my favorite parts of life, and it’s something that people really need to pay more attention to. Even though I’m not in the best place right now, I still have enough mental awareness to know that your shopping experience could be better.
REAL ANTIQUE STORE! Pretty high priced, but still worth the look around. He has sooo many signs, windows, doors, oil cans lots of books and old catholic statues etc. so much to see! If you love antiques, you’ll love this place.
Very cool place. Lots of stuff to look at. I was on a schedule, but I could have spent all day here just looking!
I am a regular here, have bought many things over the years with my husband. Last year we bought a old aluminum Christmas tree and some ornaments to go with it.
Love this place...especially their religious items
Interesting place they have a lot of cool old stuff, theres a fine line between antiques and junk
Drove up from clear lake .. so worth the drive.

Best place in the Heights (that I know of) for architectural and hardware antiques.
Great place to find treasures
I loooove this place! I have purchased and lusted over many of their offerings over the past 15 years. Even if I dont wind up purchasing on a visit, the history lesson take away is always welcome.
Very fascinating and large selections.
Amazing and sizeable collection. Start here for anything vintage and unique in the Heights.
The best antique store in Houston. Period!!!
Very unusual items. A unique shopping experience.
Great place for New England antiques, light fixtures, architectural detailing, doorknobs, etc. Will definitely return.
Want to be profiled and accused of stealing only for them to be proven wrong? This is the place!
Super friendly staff, and a huge inventory of treasures.
Scattered and messy, kind of smelly. There was even a cats litter box in the book section. Not pleasant to walk around here.
Excellent place, you can actually negotiate the price.
I love the antiques with nice deals good place
The place has many nice antiques but is very pricy.

Soooo expensive. Even chipped dishware is $50.
This is the third time in two months that Ive come here during listed open hours to find a sign on the door saying Closed Today. Guess they dont like customers.

Its Ali Babas cave! Very beautiful lamps, very beautiful ceramic vases, rather 20/30/50 years etc. And then also curiosities, such as the bondieseries coming from convents ... An adorable father and son at a rare address
