Came to Hawaii for two weeks on vacation. Im an avid cyclist so I knew I needed a bike while in town. I didnt want to bring mine so I booked online with the Bike shop. The online process was a breeze. They offer a helmet and lock free of charge. They also get your height and pedal type online so that they can put the appropriate pedals (Look KEO for me) on the bike. The guy with the ponytail was a bit condescending, but the rest of the staff were absolutely amazing. I rented a specialized Roubaix disc ultegra with di2. The return process was super simple too and the staff there to receive the bicycle upon my return were top notch. For long term rentals like mine I do wish that theyd also loan out a pump...even still Id definitely rent from this location again.

The best LBS on island hands down. Customer service is unbeatable, staff is great, and they have what you need in stock. The people are personable and not condescending, and theyll remember you...even if you havent seen them in years....true story! If you need your bike fixed or tuned up, pay the price. The mechanics are top notch. The Bike Shop sells Specialized gear.

Reservation process was extremely easy, bike was ready as soon as I arrived to the bike shop. Staff was awesome in helping me solve my Wahoo Roam issues since I left my mount at home, couldnt be happier with their service. Bike was in perfect condition, not a squeak or creak to be heard the entire time! Staff was also extremely helpful with suggestions and tips concerning my route and even offered suggestions on places to stop during my ride for wonderful pics. I would absolutely recommend Bike Shop Hawaii to any and all looking to enjoy time in Hawaii on two wheels!

Vacationing from North Dakota. Was looking for a bike shop to rent a decent road bike from. Was very happy with my experience here. Rented twice from here during my trip. Simple and smooth. Came with helmet and tools. Even had Garmin computer mount already installed which was convenient for me. Would recommend to others and would rent from here again in the future!

Nice guys, horrible bike service. 1. Mounted Cush core incorrectly, 2. Mounted tire in the wrong direction, 3. Installed grips with an inch off the handlebar 4. Lost a shock mounting screw (won’t even tell me about it). 5. Can go on and on with more examples.

These guys are topnotch. I recently moved here and had my bikes shipped from the mainland. They received the shipment, assembled my bikes and have been nothing but respectful and very helpful to this old girl. Ive stopped in for a few adjustments, no hassle. This is one of my go-to places for my bike related needs. The stores support of local bicycle racing has been outstanding in the last few years.

Flew to Honolulu, but due to unforseen circumstances could not bring my bike on the plane. I chose to have UPS deliver it to their location. I was not able to notify them until it was already on the way. They told me there would be a charge. I was not having them assemble it. Just holding it there for a few hours. I have shipped my bicycles all over the country in similar fashion albeit with notifying the bike store ahead of time.They charged me $30 to hold it at thier store for about two hours. Literally taking a box from the delivery driver and placing it in the store for a few hours.Im a bike mechanic myself of many years. I recieved absolutely no aloha from this business. I could have been a potential customer. But charging 1/3 of a tune up fee for doing ZERO work is criminal. Needless to say I wont be back. Steer clear they have no moral compass to treat a fellow bike store employee or anyone else like that.

This bike shop is absolutely hands down the best bike repair shop there is I have never had a problem with them at all and cheap to the best bike mechanics I have ever been to from the mainland to Honolulu I will only go hear ....

Came to the shop to adjust rear brake on my felt tri bike and a few little tweaks. The guy up front has no knowledge about bikes whatsoever, told me to schedule an appointment and leave a bike for service, took me two hours on YouTube to figure it out myself, small adjustment on the brake cable, one min job, very simple, hope owners will have someone capable upfront.

Went there 2x, 20 something Caucasian local has attitude problem not so friendly. Walked in there and felt like, “ What do you want ? “ attitude.... I guess I bothered him when he was playing with the computer. He repaired my bike quick fast and answered my questions. But customer service skills need fine tuning. I was more friendly interaction than he was....... 2 stars

Rented a road bike from here while in Honolulu on business. The online rental process was easy and the right sized bike was ready for me when I got to the store. Bike was an almost new Specialized Tarmac Expert Disc. The shop mechanic quickly helped me get the seat height right and fitted my pedals / showed me how to use the thru axle skewers to remove the wheel in case of a flat (my first time on a disc brake bike). Shop manager gave me a useful map of local riding routes. Unfortunately their shop ride that night was not going out, but I found the climb / loop up Tantalus on the map and got some good miles in. Well stocked shop for kit and bikes as well. Staff friendly and helpful. Would do the same again next time there!

Arranged a one day road bike rental and wanted to pick it up as soon as they opened. The shop called and said I could come in the night before, which worked much better for me. Staff were super helpful before and after the ride, and even provided a recovery drink to get me back on my feet after a 111 mile loop around Oahu. Online rental process was straight forward, the shop is easy to find.

Friendly, knowledgeable staff. I lost the visor for my helmet and they ordered a new one for me to purchase. They have folding bikes and electric bikes but not ones that do both so they provided me info about other shops that might carry bikes with both features. If youre a bike novice like me, you cant go wrong spending some time here.

Rented mountain bikes, staff was helpful. Gave us some options where to go based on what we said our skill level was.The bikes themselves, while dinged up from previous rentals, were in perfect condition mechanically. Complimentary rental helmet was clean.Looked like good prices on used bikes.They didnt have much as far as clothing goes, and almost nothing with their name on it.Only problem I had was that we were limited on time because of prior obligations and only got to ride a small piece of the trail system.

Took my bike in for an overhaul but they did not check their work (no safety check I found out later) so I ended up stuck in Manoa at night and had to walk the bike home and then return it the next day. Sad to say I had better service there in the 90s. :-(

Great shop for bike rentals on the island. Staff was very helpful, printing out some good local routes. The bike comes with a repair kit, water bottle cages, and they installed my own pedals on it as well. They also adjusted the saddle height to my liking. I will definitely be using them on my next trip.

I used The Bike Shop to both unpack and repack my Tri-bike for the Honolulu Triathlon. Ive done several out of town races and NEVER had a shop work as quickly as these guys did. It was such a relief and pleasure to deal with them. Not only that, they even offered to arrange a back-up road bike for me to use when my own bike delivery got delayed by the airline. Above and beyond service - well done!

I had to wait what felt like 30 mins before someone finally came to help. What’s worst is the universal brakes that cost $20 were not returnable. So now I’m stuck with a $20 item that’s practically useless to me.

Had to rent a bike and I was fixed up with an Allez. They put on my pedals and adjusted the bike for me. Although I brought my own tool bag and tires, the bike already had tubes, a pump and two cages attached. These guys were fantastic on making certain I had a great ride. They took their time and explained some local routes I could take. They wrote out a map and advised me what streets to take take and ones to avoid. Also, the rate was for 24+ hours so I was able to ride for two days for the price of one. They are centrally located to Waikiki so I could walk to the shop from my hotel. BTW they also have carbon fiber bikes for rent. They offer services to put your bike together if you decide to ship it from the mainland. Cannot wait to go back!

Helpful service and amazing road bikes in great condition for exploring the roads outside Honolulu. I highly recommend trying the Specialized Roubaix Expert Disc. Free rental bike helmets are from Specialized and are well ventilated and can fit anyone so no need to bring your own.

I always try to support local business, especially bike shops, but when the cheapest bike tire you carry in 700x25 is $40, Im sorry, but I have to buy online. The tires were priced fairly along with everything else I peeked at while in the shop, but apparently they dont stock basic, entry-level tires.

Terrible international bike packing & shipping experience-------------------------------------------On Wednesday April 26, I delivered my bike to The Bike Shop on King St., having spoken to one of their employees on the phone on April 21 to make an appointment to pack my bike up on the 26th and who assured me that their shop was equipped to pack and ship my commuter bike (which I purchased from that shop back in 2015, and had good customer service from at the time) internationally. When I walked into the shop on the 26th, the mechanic who greeted me argued with me that they shipped internationally, but after speaking with another employee at some length, told me that they could, in fact, ship my bicycle out of the US. When they tried to print a form for me to write down the destination and return address and shipping instructions, I was told that their computer system was down and that I’d have to write the info on a blank sheet.I shipped the rest of my belongings and departed Honolulu several days later, expecting that my bike would follow. By Tuesday, May 2 they still hadn’t shipped my bike, and wouldn’t until Friday, May 5, having had my bike for over a week (after I’d specifically made an appointment for the 21st to have it packed). I was forced to rent a bicycle at my destination rather than have my own to use as I’d planned. Moreover, they charged me 20% more for transferring my bike to FedEx, and 30% more to pack the bike up using their materials, than their website said at the time, and says as I’m writing this. Also, they didn’t indicate on the shipment that they were shipping personal effects, not a bike I had just bought, resulting in me being charged duty and tax and having to repeatedly email and phone FedEx over four weeks to get that money refunded (as I’m writing this, I still haven’t been paid back). The other belongings I shipped via FedEx were not charged duty or tax. Lastly, they sent it via air, not ground, despite my written instructions to the contrary (and without consulting me about the change in shipping method) and despite their own website specifying that they would ship FedEx Ground. Perhaps they thought that getting the bike to me sooner was what I wanted, when in fact what I wanted was for my bike to not spend 8 days sitting in their shop rather than en route to me via the shipping method I specified.In short, their staff are not trained on how to ship internationally, weren’t trained to tell me that they didn’t know how to ship internationally, forced me to chase after them via phone and email rather than giving me updates on the unreasonable delay in shipping my bike, overcharged me to pack and transfer my bike to FedEx, and sent it via a shipping method contrary to both my written instructions and their own website. Id give them zero stars if it was an option.

Very disappointed. Strongly recommend that you do not do business with this store. Upon attempting to get help it was evident that the staff was not interested in assisting me rent a bike. Despite the fact that I would have spent several hundred dollars between rental and additional equipment, it was obvious that they dont really need to do the business. Apparently they dont need money to keep the doors open. The rep at the store seemed only interested in maintaining a bad attitude and a sense of arrogance. Yes, some of us do not live here and must rent our bikes. Please excuse our scum status on your island. If you dont want to rent bikes, then dont. A special thanks to the owners for ruining the one free weekend that I had on my two week trip to HI. I will not return to your shop, nor your island.

I have patronized The Bike Shop on several occasions in recent months and have found it to be an ideal place to purchase bicycle accessories and have my bicycles serviced. The staff are all very knowledgeable and helpful, and the two bicycle mechanics with whom I had the pleasure to deal, namely, Mel and Sylvester, were both very courteous, diligent and competent.

The absolute Worst Setvice on the island. The staff is rude and unhelpful. payment taken upfront. And then after an accident and calling no one asked if he was ok and when asked to return the bike we were told a refund would be given for unused days. When at the shop we were refused a refund. Still rude and this even extended to management. Bike shop across the road from our hotel takes payment on return. Suspicious service here. Do not use this shop.

Went In to look at e-bikes, they only have 1 and you have to order it if you want it. The place is great for accessories or standard bikes, but if you want something a bit more you will have to wait.

The service and bike were perfect!!! Super good staff and amazing value of bike. I rented the bike with 20 dollars for a one day, but it was more than 30 dollars in waikiki brach. With the bike, I had visited Koko Head. The problem is locatio. But if your accommodation is in around here, don’t hesitate!!!!!
