Class instruction was good. Site should include pricing and list of items needed for class so you know the TRUE COST. Any future classes I would expect to pay double what the class is listed for.Recommend store provide the materials in the cost of the class and have the materials already at each student work area. If you cannot make it there before the class day, call ahead to see if the employee can assist in getting the materials out for you.

I really like this shop but they have not adapted to COVID well at all. They only allow 3 customers in at a time, but it is not enforced (there were 5-6 customers in at the same time.) they also have a sign that says for customers to spend no longer than 20 minutes in the store, but the employees spend much longer than that just helping a single customer. This creates a line out the door and frustrated customers. Even when a customer knows exactly what they want and could be in and out quick we need to wait for the employees who spend much too long with single customers given the current situation. After waiting 30 minutes just to get inside to realize that there were still more customers than should safely be inside and employees slowly helping single customers I left without making a purchase.

I stopped by the store today and it was closed, a man I believe the owner just happened to be walking up and was kind enough to let me in. I needed to pick up beading needles thin enough to string pearls. He not only helped me find the needles but also made me an appropriately sized tube to hold them in. This was one of the best experiences I have ever had with any retailer. I will be coming back based on the amazing service.

Discovered this place by accident; had stopped to take a photo of an amusing store sign, was about to turn and leave when my sweetie said “take two steps forward” and there it was. First off, I used to be a full time professional jeweller and I was impressed with the well chosen collection of stuff you could buy to take your skills from simply assembling to soldering etc. The staff were helpful without being oppressive and the selection (for such a seemingly modest footprint) was wide enough to approach any kind of project but not so much as to overwhelm. I have been to bead stores double this size which do not have such a well curated choice. All in all a VERY lucky find (i made two trips while on Oahu) and joined their loyalty program in anticipation of future trips. Finally, I want to address a comment made by another customer - my humble opinion is that the prices in this store reflect not only the quality of products you are purchasing but also the service and education they provide. With regard to the pearls - yes, you may be able to get them cheaper online but are you sure that they are what they say they are? (attached is the photo I stopped to take which resulted in this visit to Bead It!)

This bead shop has been in Kaimuki since I was a kid and they have always maintained a high level of excellence. Whether you have a particular question or already know what you need, the staff is always helpful and friendly. I have learned so much from the people who had worked there through the years. I cant recommend them enough.

Expensive. A rip off really. If you can order online do it, because this place really marks their prices up. However they do offer year-round jewelry making classes which are hard to find anywhere else on Oahu. Jewelers here are very knowledgeable. They have an assortment of beads, colored Pearls etc. Dont buy Tahitian Pearls here..way overpriced. They offer discounts on strands of pearls close to mothers day. They have discounts on certain items here and there and offer rewards program, which is good.

Friendly and helpful service in this small store. Good variety of stock. Brick and mortar store pricing means that things will cost more than buying online. However, when you need it right now for a project its a convenient option.

I visited the Kaimuki location recently and was welcomed by a very knowledgeable lady named Monica. She was very patient and went above and beyond answering the general questions I had. I actually received a mini class worth of info on the use of a stronger torch. She is a jewelry artist herself and we chatted about many, many topics. Our lives touched in other ways as far as the similarities in our childrens careers. I originally came from Kailua to buy a spool of cord....but I spent over an hour at the store. My meter was flashing expiration when I got back to my car...and I think if I had a ticket plastered on my windshield ....I wouldnt care because it was an hour well spent. Thank you Monica!

Not my favorite of the Bead It locations, but the employees are nice, theres plenty of choice as far as beads, metal working, stringing material, and findings go. Parking is metered behind the store or on the street. The store in Kapolei has more room and free (hard to score) parking, but its apparently closing. I hope some of the employees from Kapolei end up at Kaimuki. Ive loved taking their classes. Theyre spendy but worth it.
