Best game store in the Lansing area. Hundreds of Magic cards, lots of dnd and Warhammer stuff. A super friendly staff who explained everything to my 8 year old brother who came with me once to get some cards. They made his first lgs experience a good one. I will never go anywhere else. Love these guys.

Dude wouldnt unlock a laptop I found in a dumpster. Super lame. Didnt have the DnD books I wanted but did offer to order them for me. So they arent all bad.

Excellent magic card and warhammer selection. A good amount of board games. Good paint selection, especially citadel paint. Great play space for magic and warhammer. I like the staff a lot, theyre always down to talk about your hobby with you. My favorite place to play magic.

Smaller Magic inventory than some other stores, with more high end singles; however, theyre very friendly, and the Warhammer inventory is pretty good.

Great Warhammer/Mtg store. Staff welcomed me in and were happy to answer any questions about the products. Small footprint, but they do carry a wide array of Warhammer. Mini prices are reasonable (discounted around 10 percent). They also have a cabinet with used miniatures available for purchase. Ill be back soon!

Very cool store, had a lot of different games/minis. Heavy on Games Workshop and Magic. Has weekly game nights with a great setup for gaming. Clerk definitely did not want us in there for some reason, but I liked the store.

The owner is a great guy he helped me with any questions I had and gave off a good friendly vibe.

Thought about trying something new and after reading some reviews I decided afk would be a good place to get started, as most reviews are positive. I was somewhat greeted when I came into the store. The employee working kind of grunted out a how’s it going, but still nice to be greeted. That’s really where where anything remotely positive ends. Seemed to be two employees working and neither asked what I came in for or if I needed help. If it were busy I can understand but the store wasn’t busy. Three other people besides me and two were in the process of leaving. After about 5 minutes maybe of not being acknowledged, I decided to go, and again nobody bothered with have a good day or something similar. Very exclusionary feeling, so I’ll take that as they don’t want my business and I will go someplace that does

Super friendly and helpful. I cant recommend them enough, too many stores treat customers like a burden they really go out of their way to help.

I pass by this place when I leave work.I have never shopped at AFK but they have never hindered me when I drive by. Every day Google asks me how my experience was with AFK. Driving passed AFK shortens my drive home from work. I dont save a lot of time but when you leave work every minute counts. 5 stars to AFK because I am in a good mood when I am leaving work.

Great little store. Has an area where you can play live games. Changes day to day based on who is there and what everyone wants to play. Nice place to hang out. The owner knows a lot about games and is very helpful. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to buy games or hang out & play.

AFK games is an excellent establishment. Im a bit concerned that Google tracks my GPS data to know I go there to give them a review. I play Pokemon on Sundays there and like most game stores they have a decent MTG following.The store is really clean, which is a sad thing to point out is REALLY important for a game store. The staff is exceptionally knowledgeable on all things game related. Ive never left there wanting or without an answer. Also say hi to Zack for me! Tell him his ginger hair is dreamy.

I have to give the guys in this store some solid props. Theyve made an effort to keep improving the store both in the selection of products (board games are where Im focused) and in customer interaction. Been in the store several times in the last few months and had good, and informative, conversations as well as interesting games on the self.

Nice selection with friendly staff. Their main focus is on minitures and card games. If they could expand their seating area - that would be a big plus.

My favorite LGS. Ive been playing games there almost since the store opened. I disagree with Justin on the facet of the staff. The staff at AFK are very knowledgeable when it comes to the games they sell (Magic, 40K, etc.). My experience at other local shops has been when you ask a question about a game, most of the staff say yeah we carry it, but I dont know much about it. At AFK, the staff not only know about the games they carry, but can play them at a high level. 5/5.

I go to afk games on Wednesdays to play d&d and have met many wonderful people there, the staff are kind and if you love d&d or magic the gathering than i suggest checking this place out.

I love the selection of board games on display here as well as the pools of polyhedral dice. Knowledgeable and friendly staff make each visit a treat.

Didnt really know what to expect when stopping by here. Theres only a small selection of board games, but if Warhammer or MTG is your thing, they have you covered for sure!

The guy at the desk made it clear he wasnt too deep into dnd but knew who to ask for about it and gave a nice plug for the game nights. The stock was heavy on Warhammer 40000 and many of its miniatures accoutrement like paints and pre cast figurines. Manuals, sets of miniatures, nice displays full of dice, some high value Magic: The Gathering cards, lots of tables for game nights. Pretty positive attitude atmosphere. Would say the only issue I had was not much dnd stuff in stock.

Been going here for over 2yrs. AFK generally has a friendly staff, owner is a wonderful guy, organized, clean, unisex bathroom, safe attmosphere, good space for groups, kid-friendly. MTG, Pokemon, indie games, D&D, Warhammer, and lots of other board, card, and tabletop games. Good turnout at events. A great place to make friends.
