Having become a member at MIY Ceramics is one of the best decisions Ive made in a long time. The studio, staff and owner are all top notch and community oriented. The atmosphere is relaxed, casual and very friendly. Having 24/7 access to the studio was a big plus and makes life so much easier for members.

I went to a pottery class. The best way to describe it is controlled chaos, but in a good way. The instructor was very knowledgeable and helpful as well as patient. Managing a bunch of people who have never spun a pottery wheel has got to be a talent. Even the studio members helped out. Though I do not see myself becoming a master potter, I will be coming back as it was a fun and novel experience led by people that are clearly passionate about it. I think next time I will bring some wine!

Love, Love, Love this place.I took my boyfriend here as a surprise birthday gift for him (moreso me; hahaha). However he enjoyed it so thats all that matters. I have been wanting to come here for some time but never got the chance and then of course Covid (major eye roll). From calling to make the appointment to the day of arrival everything was smooth. I called inquired about classes, paid and waited since I booked it week in advance. Yes I am one of those people. When we got there both of the ladies that were present was awesome and very helpful throughout the 2 hours. My only suggestion would be to somehow figure out how to shorten the tutorial aspect of the 2 hours. That portion in and of itself almost an hour and we werent able to fully enjoy and be able to make 3 figures out of the 3 clay balls that we were given.Other than this, I had a great time and would certainly come again. Currently planning a girls day. Yay!

We had a great time Saturday in the hand building class. Even though there were 20 people in the class, we all had a blast. The two teachers, Jackie and Lori, were a delight and wonderful instructors. Cant wait to go back and paint the incense holder I made. I even found a lovely ceramic planter to hang on my wall at home in their beautiful art gallery! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to enjoy a truly unique experience or find a one of a kind gift in their gallery.

I brought 3 of my friends to the Glass Fusing class and we drove from Miami on a very rainy day. It was well worth it. Jennifer was super in explaining all types of glass and techniques. She was also very friendly and quirky. We had a blast and plan to return whenever possible. This class is highly recommended!

Had a great experience here tonight. Took a Mosaic class. The instructor was pleasant and sweet. We expected to be heavily instructed, but to our surprise, we were guided and encouraged to allow our creative spirit to lead. We chose our piece and were given plenty of time to create. We ordered food and brought wine from home. Simply a wonderful, relaxing, creative and even romantic evening.I can also see myself bringing my kids here for a class.

If anyone knows anything about a pottery studio, then you know that this is the real deal. Lucky are we who have found this perfect potting place .it is a true delight! And also, if you know anything about any properly functioning cooperative pottery studio, you know it has its share of positive and negative issues. This studio deals with all of them professionally and courteously. if youve ever been into a co-op studio, then you know theyre all kinds of characters who walk in the door. Is not an easy task and I thoroughly respect the way they handle their studio and the people who join us there. They offer many options and outlets for creative expression. They have many tools available, absolutely anything you could possibly need is there for pottery as well as glassworks. Along with this, there are a lot of very knowledgeable artists or crafts people Who are always there to lend a helping hand. some of the art that comes out of the studio is worthy of a museum or gallery showing. And the blend of different styles that you can see there on a daily basis is a pleasure to the eye.I am so happy that I found this place after being away from the studio for 20 years.they have renewed the art in me.Thank you for having me and for being there, MIY!

Purchased a Groupon for Mosaic Class and asked prior if this is all we needed for the class. Yes they said. We get there and you have to purchase the piece to make. The class went from an expected 6 to 15 - the instructor had to stop to set up for more people, we had to share tools and pay $20 for a $3 frameHe did not make enough grout the first time and just dragged on making more, which ran the class later and he told us to just lightly wipe off the grout and in the morning wisk it off.My project has to be thrown out - Hard Grout on glass - scrubbed with a brush and still will not come off.I paid to learn how not to do it . Dont waste your money - just go on line it is really easy to do !

THIS PLACE IS AWFUL!!!! I bought 3 groupons to enjoy myself with a friend. At arrival, people were on top of each other in different places of the shop. There was not enough room for each attendee. The instructor was ok but there was no guidance as to how to complete a piece. Once I completed the piece they asked me if I wanted to color it. I decided to color it so they asked me to come back on another date. When I attempted to come back, they said that they had left me a message and they had thrown away my piece. I spent three hours building my piece and was willing to spend $20 more to come back and put color. I am cancelling all the Groupons and I will never be back. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED!!!UPDATE - RESPONSEThank you for your response (although a year later). I forgot to mention that I never received a call to come back. When I asked when and which number was called, I was told that you did not have that information. My first suggestion is to keep a log of calls. My second suggestion is to get the people that want to paint the pieces to schedule a date when they can return. When I tried doing it, I was told that you could not schedule because you were very behind.Thank you,

Andy the pottery man is an absolute jerk. He is a disgrace to business owners like myself. He is not an example of what a teacher should be. Completely and utterly disrespectful. Screamed at me across the room! For whatever reason in the guys mind he picked and choose who he helped who he talked through things with. I have no clue how he has business open for groups when he is clearly not a social and group handling person.

Was with a Wounded Warrior Group and was shocked today at the sheer disrespectfullness that ensued. The pottery teacher yelling at another individual in a room full of PTSD War Heros. That is no kind of man or business that I would ever associate myself or anyone I know with. His assistant the glass maker was very helpful and tried to calm the pottery Guy named Andie down but then his anger turned to her. It was just an obscene mess.5 people got up and walked out of the group session because of him verbally yelling loud enough for the whole studio class to hear at a woman asking for assistance. Have never seen such. Please, do not go unless you are ok with being be littled and yelled at. Atrocious.

My fiancé and I are here on vacation from CT. We wanted to paint pottery and found this place on Groupon. The website and Google both say they are open 10am-4pm today. So we drive 25 min to open their business doors and stand there awkwardly, waiting to be acknowledged. Finally we walked around to the back to ask if we could paint a piece or two. The woman automatically looks up and says well, no. We arent open today. Members only So Google lied. Their website lied. The open door lied. We explained that we were here on vacation just wanting to paint. Well we arent open was the response. These people were rude, unprofessional, unaccommodating. THANK GOD WE DIDNT BUY THE GROUPON. We would have been out $29. Horrible experience. Horrible people. The place looks like its out of business from the outside. So undeserving of our hard earned money.
