The desserts here have always been good, and, although its not there most famous one, Ive always been partial to the flurries here. The drive through has always been quite efficient for getting through even when its busy, and the employees have been friendly and polite. The outdoor seating is very family friendly with space for kids to play.

Great selection of frozen treats for any taste. Very economical lunch menu. Friendly and attentive staff. Home of the Tommy Turtle, loved by a standing, US President. Highly recommend Captain Sunday.

I ordered a chicken salad sandwich and it tasted expired. The grapes we’re sour and the sandwich was saugy. You wonder if they dethawed an old sandwich, disgusting

I dont know if its just because I havent been to this location before, but our Tommy Turtles were definitely made strangely. About the bottom 2/3 of the cup was just ice cream - no Caramel, fudge or pecans in the bottom at all. Then there was a thicker section of just caramel, fudge and pecans, a touch of i.c. topped off with whipped topping and a cherry. Not nearly as much of the toppings as in the past. It was okay but not what was expected.

We were here on vacation and were told to stop before leaving. We were so glad we did! It was delicious and our 2yr old son loved the ship theme😁The ice cream was fantastic. A little bit of a wait but well worth it!

Great place for soft serve, my mom and I were in Saugatuck for a long weekend and drove 20 minutes here each night for ice cream! Just to give everyone a heads up, it says theyre open until 10 but they lock the doors at 9:40/9:45. Im guessing they continue to serve the drive-thru until 10...?

I had a flurry that was good, my wife had a sundae, very little toppings. It was more like a cup of soft serve ice cream. Didn’t live up to the hype.

Love the different selection of sundaes here! Plus they have hudsonville hard ice cream if you dont want soft. The scallywag smores and cookie dough bomb were both great. The cookie dough bomb is three quarters cookie dough and a quarter ice cream, bonus that its made from ingredients safe to eat raw.

We were on our way into town after a long drive and happened upon this location. Captain Sundae is a place that we make a point of visiting once a day every time we visit, but we’d never known about this location. Is it new??Well, we made the stop! Same great menu they offer at the other locations as far as I can tell. I always get the PB Shipwreck while my husband gets Tommy Turtle. But this time I switched it up just a little! I’d never tried their hard scooped ice cream, but I noticed they had a Puppy Chow flavor. So I just had to ask for a sample! And I loved it, go figure. So I got the PB Shipwreck but with this ice cream instead of soft serve. Talk about amazing flavors!! All the peanut butter and chocolate you could want with a little added crunch from the Chex cereal. I will say that this ice cream is quite firm and takes a while to melt. So if you enjoy soft ice cream like me, you need to be patient. LolThis place is bomb and we will always come back and eat as much ice cream as we can!!

Ive never had a problem with ordering and the theme of the whole place is so fun and cute. Ive never loved an ice cream place more than this one. It is so worth the 5 stars and if not even more! OK, after going here after church several times, I can honestly say that the ice cream is great. Just come here for ice cream. Only ice cream. When it comes to their food, it is straight, oily GFS standard fare. Quite expensive for what you get.

Finally visited the fabled captain sundae with the whole extended family. I was prepared to not eat anything because of my dairy allergy but was pleasantly surprised to learn they had several vegan options. I got a vanilla bean cone and really liked it - good portion even for a small, and it tasted great. The only complaint I could have is that they were obviously understaffed. One girl took everyones order and slowly made every single treat by herself, which is unfair to both the employee and the customers. Hopefully this isnt the norm! Ill visit again.

My husband and I each order our own favorite sundaes. We look forward to coming to Holland because we always stop at. Captain Sundae while were there. Such unique and delicious combinations that we havent been able to replicate at home. Sure wish theyd come to our town in Illinois!

Went there tonight 20 minutes before closing ordered a smooth and a shake and sat at the drive thru for at least 10 minutes with 5 people working all around the window before even being acknowledged. Watched the girl put our items on the counter and walk away, 2 people looked at it and finally opened the window to ask if we had paid yet and took our payment. Wont go back again .

Been 3 times this spring/summer. Prices went up and consistency (I always get the Peanut Butter Shipwreck) of ingredients has decreased. Tonight barely had a teaspoon of hot fudge. And we drive from Kalamazoo. Too bad for me!

They make THE BEST ice cream cakes ever! With actual frosting. I got the chicken tenders. They looked burnt and I almost complained and sent them back, but they were delicious, perfectly cooked. I wish there were more for the price. Other then that, our order came out fast and was amazing! Well done ladies!

I have been going to Captain Sundea since I was a kid, glad that nothing changed the people are still incredible and their ice creams are my favorites!

I ordered a hot dog and the casing on it was so tough that I had to peel it off to be able to bite into it? They didnt have any relish for the hot dogs and chopped their dill pickles up to use. Please take note of this so that you dont lose customers or just dont offer hot dogs like that. The ice cream was good.

Good ice cream, good price. Soft serve, sundaes, flurries, hard ice cream. This fall, had an awesome blueberry ripple with chunks of blueberry donut in it. Also had a pumpkin pie ice cream with chunks of pie crust.
