I come here every year and am reminded of why it is important to support local businesses. They are the coolest and so nice. You can’t get this experience on Amazon…the smells, the gear, the creaks in the hard wood floors. Do yourself a favor and pop in.

The Outpost was exactly what I was expecting, awsome. Mark who helped me was very friendly and even more knowledgeable. He took the time to find out what I needed for my trip and help me get great fitting boots. I also got a SUP which I have been paddling on daily since and love it. It was worth the 2 hr drive.

Great survice, poor item selection. If you know what you are doing outdoorsing this shop will not have what you need or want. If your planing a trip for a day at a campground theyll have what you need, any longer the gear they have will be inadequate and not worthy of there pricing.

Excellent customer service. They always take the time to ensure you have what you need and that it fits well. I purchased a backpack here and spent almost an hour trying on different packs and getting the one I picked custom fit to my body. Same with the hiking shoes I just bought. I will keep coming back here because the staff is knowledgeable and I know I will get personal attention.

The best outdoor adventure store in West Michigan. They specialize in adventure equipment and in outdoor clothing. It’s my “go to” store every year for Christmas shopping.

Absolutely love this clothing store. They remind me of REI in their selection of only high quality clothing and gear. The store is easy to navigate with two floors to explore. And the staff are very friendly and super helpful.Ive bought a lot of great items from The Outpost and will buy much more in the future.

This is such a cool store. They seem to be on top of the trends and always have a great stock of gear. The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly... They are not pushy whatsoever. Their prices are not amazing but they are selling the best gear in the most well know brands... as far as I can tell.

The Outpost is awesome, but the brands they carry are expensive. Most of what they carry is high-end rather than strictly utilitarian. They have good service and are knowledgeable about the products they carry. Keep an eye out for their seasonal sales and discount items.

While visiting from Chicago, we stopped in to take a look around and found a fantastic selection of trail running shoes (which are really tough to find in Chicago!). They gave me a lot of one-on-one help and I could tell they knew what a trail ultra-runner needs. I felt like a valued customer, I received great attention, and got some helpful advice. I bought a pair of Solomon trail shoes for $60 instead of the usual $120. Ive never found them on sale for less than $100. Well stop in again next time we visit!

Called looking for a hard to find backpack after the dealer for that brand in Grand Rapids was unhelpful. The staff was friendly and courteous for the 3 or 4 phone conversations we had. They were able to order my backpack, and were just as friendly when I went to pick it up! They have a great selection of gear. Even though I live half an hour away, this will be my home outdoor store from here on out.

My favorite place to shop for outdoor gear. Even when they dont have what I need they offer to order something that will. Always make sure I am pleased with my purchase. Everyone is always an expert on what theyre talking about and the team work is wonderful. From fitting my hiking boots, to getting the perfect size backpack (which can be hard for a very short woman), to fixing parts on my backpack or finding the clothing I need for a trip. I cant say enough good about The Outpost - my favorite store in western Michigan. I suffer from severe lower back stenosis and I needed a special pack and boots to make day hiking easier for me. The very friendly and knowledgeable staff took their time with me and outfitted me with an Osprey pack and Solomon shoes and boots. Wow, what a difference in hiking now!! Also, my Solomon shoes were priced below Amazon and my boots were $20 less than Cabelas! If you need expertise than go to The Outpost!!

When it comes down to it, one of the last remaining reasons to shop at a store is customer service. That is the reason to shop here. I got a pair of shoes and they put a wrong shoe in the box. When I made the trip back, they have me a $25 gift certificate for my troubles.

Terrible customer service. Store clerk refused to look for the size needed and insisted they couldnt order the size needed. The store associates were in a hurry to lock up and close the store and were pushing people out the door. By the way, they lock the door with people still in the store (against fire code).
