This place is an absolute gem. Ive been shopping at Frances Jaye since it opened and Ive never been disappointed.Amazingly thoughtful curation of mens and womens clothing in a beautiful exposed brick open space combined with a kind and helpful staff make this store stand out.I love that they carry brands like Shinola, Afield, Obey and Pendleton.Holland is lucky to have it, in fact, any city would be lucky to have a Frances Jaye.

Ive been meaning to review this place for a while, but no time like the present. I am so thankful for this store. They really care about their customers, which in this world, means a lot. They have a good selection of sustainable clothing, and really cute pieces from clothing through accessories. Also, I love how I have found something in the store, and theyve posted it online for me because when i wanted to buy it I was back home in another state..and they even got it shipped that same day and it was at my place like 3 days later, coming through the post office, and over a weekend! This place and the people employed are truly incredible!!!

Im normally pretty generous (and short-winded) when it comes to reviewing places. I get the retail landscape, especially these days, is competitive. However, Francis Jaye had the opportunity to make me a customer for life and instead ensured that I would not be shopping with them again. I live in GR and was in Holland on a Thursday for work. A pair of shoes in their window caught my eye on the way to lunch and I immediately bought them. I was in a hurry so just quickly tried them on for size and not necessarily comfort. When I got home, I wore them around the house for a week to see if theyd work for me and ultimately decided they wouldnt. I made a special trip out the following weekend to return the shoes. I was informed when I went to return them that they have a 14-day return policy, and I was 2 days beyond that window and would only be given store credit. I asked nicely if they could make an exception given that it was only 2 days beyond the window and I clearly made an effort to come back in a timely manner. I was visibly upset that they were so unwilling to make an exception, though I remained polite when I asked them again to reconsider. I dont think my request was at all unreasonable. They said no and handed me a gift card for the $85 I had spent on the shoes.Like I said, I get that retail is tough and given that they deal with a lot of tourists, they obviously feel like a 14-day return policy is necessary. And theres a line with the whole the customer is always right. But it would have been so easy for them to just accept the return and make my experience a good one. They would have had a customer who would rave about them to friends and family and written a good review. Instead, I left pissed off and with a store credit to a store I never want to set foot in again. And now feel compelled to write this negative review. It doesnt matter how great your products are if you dont back it up with quality customer care.

Ive been shopping at Frances Jaye since it opened! Love the selection, staff and customer service - this is hands down my favorite store in West MI! Some of my best finds are ones that Frances Jaye staff recommend I try on - they know what theyre doing!!

When Im looking for inspiration, feeling curious or wanting some respite while downtown I head to Frances Jaye. There is always something new and interesting to see and Jenny and her amazing staff hit the right mix of low-key, helpful and humorous. Additional bonus: the physical space, itself, is easy and beautiful.

I cant get enough of this store when passing through town. Since moving away from Holland, Ive had plenty of great shopping towns at my fingertips. But when Im back visiting family I HAVE to sneak in a trip to Frances Jaye. The buyers for this store are on point with their selections! And the service is top notch. When my mom recently brought in a necklace from there that I broke, they replaced it right away without issue. Ill be back every time Im in town!

My wife and I like going here every time we’re in town. I feel the men’s section is more accessory focused, but the woman’s section has a good selection of clothing and accessories. Some items are a little overpriced, while others can be surprisingly reasonable.
