I highly recommend this place. i live in brooklyn and urgently needed to replace a string on my violin. everyone in ny were luthiers that required appointment. called here and was told i could just walk in. the whole process was less than 10 mins and extremely affordable (was charged much lower than i had anticipated). everyone was very friendly and they have a puppy !
Getting back into guitar more seriously after some time, I went looking for that perfect new axe to help me re-find my sound. This place had it: a beautiful 2001 quilt top Epiphone. They held it until I could come due to unforeseen circumstances that kept me away for over a week. I’ve gotten my acoustic strings changed and bought a few pedals and great. Can’t wait til it’s fully open so I can peruse!
Had a strap lock screw tear out of my jazz bass, called in and spoke with Jim who gave me a reasonable time and cost estimate for next day. When I asked about getting a series/parallel switch put in, he said it could probably be done in a week and Id need to get the part. What I didnt expect was that hed call me back the next day telling me he had the parts, and recommended a setup which was long overdue.Long story short, my bass has never sounded or played better and they got the repair, pickup mod and setup turned around in under 24 hours.Couldnt recommend these guys more!
Great little guitar shop, one of my favorite places in Hoboken.
What a gem! Jim, Tom, and Augustin. Thank you all those years for teaching my boys drums, ukalele, and getting them inspired to play in bands. The chill, friendly atmosphere set by Jim Mastro, and the knowledgeable and patient musicians teaching the kids make all the difference.
Great local shop. Have brought in a few guitars for setups and pickup swaps and they were great. Highly recommend.
Great little guitar shop. The staff are friendly and they are well informed. Great gear too. I support this shop %100. You wont regret coming here! Its awesome!
Came in for a Fender Pickguard and ended up falling in love with the store. A truly authentic guitar shop with Historic American memorabilia. Place like this are so hard to find now a days. Jim you really have a gem in Hoboken...
Best music store in the area. All of the employees are extremely helpful and will do their best to find exactly what youre looking for. The teachers are also amazing and will definitely help you progress in your musical exploits.
Great dudes. Was in the store to grab a pin for the strap on my acoustic and Tim and I started talking about my other guitar and told me to bring it in and look at it to see if I needed insurance = so cool and above and beyond.. the pin was 50 cents but I def buy my next guitar from them
Guitar Bar is the perfect example of why small, original, independent businesses have to be supported! Great vibe, good honest advice, cool store. Go visit and youll see!
Jim, Jeff, Tim...pretty much everyone here amazing.
Always the best care, never pushy, informative, and competitive prices. Jim runs a great little shop. I try to support this store as often as I can.
Great lessons, kind owners and good selection
WOW ! What a great music store !
Bought pics and they were out of casing rip offs from the real one
My guitar came back scratched up after I brought it in for a setup
The best musical instrument store in NJ
Guitar Bar is like an old-fashioned music shop. Theyve got all kinds of great stuff and they can get you more. The proprietor is knowledgeable, gregarious and caring. Just a great place to visit and buy guitars and gear.If you are thinking of giving a guitar for Christmas, its a good idea to buy it now. There is plenty of stock, but they arent getting new shipments in normal time frames.
