They need to work a little on their customer service at the register. Went back to exchange an electric generator for a larger one. Waited in line behind one other customer for nearly 10 minutes while two of the three cashiers slowly wiped down their stations and had a long personal conversation about their day.Once I was helped I explained I was wanting to return what I bought and pay the difference for the next size up. Cashier could only find the biggest size they carried of this product which was $600 more than I was planning to spend. I took the full refund for the product I was returning instead, and was told I should look online from the manufacturer rather than buy from REI.Got back to my car, checked the manufactures website and it turns out they show which stores carry their product locally and even what their inventory is. This showed REI had two on hand and Sportsmans down the road had one. Went to Sportsmans, was greeted promptly and purchased the exact product I was looking for. While the associate left to go grab the box for the display model behind the glass case for me, I was politely asked by three other associates if I was being helped and even given a $50 gift card on my way out since I spent over $200 dollars that day.I will be heading to Sportsmans next time before REI from now on. Customer service is everything.

Spwnt 113 bucks on a bike tune, specifically asked them to true my rims and change my chain.They swapped out my chain. But decide to replace some apokes and loosen up all the spokes on my back rim.My back tire is still warped, and now i can audibly hear the loose spokes moving around when im biking around. They also kept my bike for 3 days.

Very helpful! Asked their help to determine whether my old bike wrack fit my present vehicle. They obtained paperwork for me online and thoroughly explained why the design of my present vehicle did not fit the wrack.

Very frustrating visit at the bike shop today Sunday, July 21st. Went in with an old road bike in the hope of getting a brake fixed, since it wasn’t responding. That is what I told the employee as soon as I walked in. The man looked at the brakes briefly then started to measure the chain, said it was really worn, and went on to look at the gear set which he proclaimed useless. [This bike has by the way been ridden as a commuter in its curent state for several weeks now, and I rode with it to REI.] He then called a coworker who told me the same thing. In the name of safety, both technicians refused to make my bike safer by making the brake functional. I have never heard of a worn gear set being dangerous to ride, while a dysfunctional brake directly puts the rider at risk.I rode home with the bike as is, and I will keep riding it, as is, for a little longer since I couldn’t get it fixed today. Thank you very much REI bike staff for not making my bike the least bit safer.
