I waited to review, but its been 2mos now and my truck still runs awesome. I tried to do spark plug and ignition coil replacements on my old Ford. Not a good idea, as they break and fall i to the cylinder head. They saved my butt from a costly $1500 tear down or $2500+ engine replacement.Really appreciate their attention to detail and hard work. I will go back and I will recommend.

Walter and his staff are amazing!!! They were able to get us into their shop during a very busy time of year and get us back on the road safely. From the moment they answered the phone the experience was great! They were extremely pleasant, kept us informed, had fair prices and fixed our issues without trying to sell us something we didn’t need! Highly recommend and we are grateful for the wonderful service.

High 4 stars (I almost never give anything 5) - they were VERY helpful and accommodating in getting work I needed (both mechanical and body) work done in a very fast and efficient manner. I really appreciate the work and attention to detail. Wish Id known about this shop sooner, might have taken cars there for years already. Also, MUCH appreciated the offer (I didnt ask, they offered) help in returning rental car, as it involved two people to drive my car to rental place so the other could have a ride back to the shop. Will definitely recommend and return as needed (which hopefully will not be for a while!) -

Contacted them recently to get a very rough idea on repair costs after my car was in an accident. Just general info and pricing on labor and things like that. I spoke with Sarah, the service manager, who was less than helpful, as well as a man named John who was extremely helpful and gave me the information I needed. As my car is not currently drivable, I obviously am not going to tow it all over the city just to get an idea of repair costs. Most shops were willing to look at the photo and say “well we can’t say for sure but this is what you might be looking at”. Just at a glance idea. Which I’m completely okay with. Obviously you can’t predict everything by a photo and I know that. It gives me a starting point to go off of. Sarah on the other hand, worst attitude imaginable, says an “administration fee” of $125 must be charged just to even look at the picture. Which is completely insane. I could pay $125 to have an actual estimate done. Rather than them tell me $125 later “well without actually seeing the car, this is what you might be looking at.” Like everyone else I’ve spoken too has done for free. Her attitude was atrocious. Small business or not, I wouldn’t give my business to them. John almost made it worth reconsidering so brownie points for him. But business conducted with such a poor attitude and high prices for so little work on their end makes it a no go for me!

Excellent customer service, from start to finish. The repair took a little longer than they initially estimated, but they kept me in the loop and provided a free rental while they worked on my car. I would definitely take our vehicles back to them!

They were very upfront about the type of work they were going to perform on my headlights and did not charge me an hour of labor due to the simplicity of the fix (improperly-grounded headlights). In the end, I was driving my vehicle home the same day. Keep up the great work!

I recently moved to Ohio and was having some trouble with my car. I needed an honest opinion about what needed to be done so I asked a local for a place to go and they recommended Auto Emporium. Jon took care of us from the beginning and provided efficient and quality services all while keeping us updated about the next steps. We were very impressed with the genuine care this company provided us and will return for services in the future.

I have been taking my cars to Auto Emporium for over 15 years. My son is 28 and he has taken his cars there too since he was sixteen. It is a family-run business that you can fully trust. They will NOT do something to your car if its not needed. Not only do they do a full diagnosis, they explain everything to you in a way that you can understand. If there is something that doesnt need immediate attention, they will tell you what you can hold off on, and for approximately how long. If available, they will give you one of their rental cars to use while your car is being repaired. Once when there was no rental available, and my car was going to take quite a while to fix, Walt (the owner), had one of his mechanics drive me home and then pick me up when my car was ready. Dont hesitate when Walts wife or one of his daughters explains what is going on with your car-they know their stuff! Everyone is friendly, they have a nice lounge in which to wait, and the employees are loyal to the business and their customers. After moving from Hilliard to Pickerington, I continue to take my car there because I know they are going to be completely honest and fair. Plus, I just like to say hello to everyone!

Great experience for a first timer. Family-owned, good people. Brought my car in for some repair work after some guy decided to back into me in a parking lot for some reason. But I digress.Sarah, the service manager, was great to work with. The repair work looked as good as I could ask for. I didnt require it because thanks to the insurance company of the aforementioned guy, but they do provide free rentals if needed which is always a nice perk. Plan to return and highly recommend!

I had what I thought was a major problem with my car so I did a search and found Auto Emporium. I have been driving by this place for over 12 years and never really noticed it before. I made an appointment and they quickly fixed my car. Turned out it was not a major problem, just a simple bearing replacement. Sarah and Walter were both wonderful and I will be bringing my car back there again and again.

I found this shop through a search engine and let me tell you I couldnt be happier, from the moment I called Sarah was very friendly and professional so I decided to go ahead and make an appointment when I got there I was quoted a price so I instructed them to go ahead with the repair. Sarah had told me that they were down one technician and would not be able to get to it until the following day which was perfectly fine with me however, They actually repaired my vehicle the day that I took it in. John called me once the repairs were complete to let me know that the repairs were complete and any other issues that I may have had with the vehicle, here is the most surprising thing that I experienced and is also what sets them apart from most any other auto repair shop that you will go to. As I stated before they had quoted me a price when I took my vehicle in however, once I got there John told me that he was able to do the repairs cheaper and charged me actually quite a bit less than the price I was quoted. I dont personally know of any other shop that will quote you a price and find that they can do the work cheaper and still not charged you the quoted price. I will certainly recommend auto Emporium to all of my friends and family and hope that this review encourages you to use their services as well.

In Oct my vehicle broke down & a family member encouraged me to have it towed to Auto Emporium because of the outstanding work performed & customer service received. Maybe it’s women’s intuition, but I’ve been on edge and haven’t stopped thinking about this shop since I walked out the door. I can’t put into words how upset & disappointed I was recently to learn how dishonest this family can be & now I know the reason for my unrest.Sarah called after they ran the diagnostics on my vehicle. I was told my batter was bad & would need replaced before they could continue to diagnose additional problems. I asked her if I had them do the work, would they waive the $115 diagnostic fee, but was immediately told “NO”. Obviously I asked the question because it’s been common practice at other shops, as a courtesy, the fee is waived if any work is completed but not at AE. I was told her mechanics are “professionals” and it takes time to hook the vehicle up to the computer and diagnose. Now I don’t have a college degree, however, I’m not an idiot either. Typically the “computer“ Sarah referred to is a handheld device mechanics hook up to a vehicle for a couple minutes and “the professional“ is then given a code, so their basically told what’s wrong. It’s not as though it’s a 3 hour commitment under the hood digging to find the problem. Bottom line was a whopping $360 which I needed to pay, and I did, before they would proceed.Fast forward to the following morning I kept waiting on a car to say come pick up your vehicle, but the phone didn’t ring until 4:45. I now know Sarah was putting off calling me because she had to “blame me” for something that was NOT EVEN MY FAULT. Sarah said unfortunately my radio isn’t working and my radiator hose needs replaced, I said “WHAT?!?” Why won’t my radio work? She says it’s most likely our fault because we jumped the vehicle prior to the arrival of the tow truck driver. I told her that was correct, we jumped the vehicle PROPERLY & the radio was working after jumping it because we turned it off to save power and not to mess anything up further until we got it to the shop. Sarah said they checked the fuse which was fine so it would require additional diagnosis but they could fix the hose for an additional $235. I did give them the ok to replace the hose.In the last week it was brought to my attention, there’s no way the radio fuse could’ve been ok as Sarah told me in Oct. This is because there was not a fuse even in the box where the radio fuse is supposed to be!! After putting a fuse in I will say listening to my car stereo is MUCH BETTER than the little speaker I’ve been using since October when I was so blatantly told I screwed up my radio due to jumping my car.At this point I became curious about the cost of that radiator hose. Again, I’m not dumb, this isn’t my first rodeo, I’m well aware mechanic shops are in business to make money. It’s just I’m now 50yrs old and on a fixed income (which I was honest & shared with Sarah, it’s too bad she couldn’t be honest with me in return) and unable to take big financial hits such as this. I’m sick & tired of being taken advantage of by the body shop industry. It’s tough to find a shop you can trust nowadays. But I’ve now found a mobile mechanic who’s trustworthy thankfully!I will say they did put my replacement tire back on my vehicle and surprisingly enough didn’t charge me.I distinctly remember saying to Sarah, don’t you think $600 is over the top for a battery and a hose, then on top of it all I lost the use of my radio?? She just continued to process my cc. Like Mich, I think she needs some customer service training because I was in the field for 35+ yrs and I would’ve lost my job had I blamed a customer for ruining their stereo system knowing I was lying.I hope this helps someone out there. I’m happy for those who feel like they’ve received stellar pricing & service over the years, I’m just not one of you 😞

My family has been going to Auto Emporium for as long as I can remember. I bought my first car from Walt, and when he looked it over for the last time before selling it to me, he noticed that the tires were close to needing replaced, so he bought new tires for the car without increasing the price of the car. It is important to Walt that the car you drive is reliable so that you can enjoy driving it instead of thinking of driving as a chore. When I was stranded in Cleveland with battery problems, he walked me through some tricks to start my car to get it home and then he gave me a discount on labor when it was just a loose connection to the battery. When I was in an accident, he talked to my insurance for us when we were having trouble understanding what they were talking about and gave us options when we thought we had no choice but to total it. He walked us through the steps and title changes to make my car street legal again after it was totaled as well as doing all the body work to fix it. I trust Walt to always be fair and honest.

They were awesome. They figured out what was wrong with our car when two national brands (NTB and FIRESTONE) both couldnt. They have years and years of experience and they seem to truly love cars. Someone even drove us home so we didnt have to wait around! They took the time to explain to us why the two other repair shops missed it. Experience won out in this case. I cant say enough good things about this place.

Weve been with Auto Emporium for almost 20 years. Looking for just an honest mechanic with fair prices, I found them on Angies List. My 3 girls have grown up in the cars that they have kept running safely, and all 3 have now purchased their first cars from them. Walt has gone above and beyond to make sure their cars are in good running order and safe to drive while 2 of them drive to and from colleges out of town and out of state. My middle recently lost control of her car and put it up against a guardrail. The insurance company declared it a total loss. Walt called the insurance company to try to convince them that he could repair it for less than the value of the car. Though they declined, my daughter elected to buy the car back from the insurance company for Walt to fix. Walt walked her through an otherwise intimidating experience of getting a salvage title, and getting it inspected after repairs to put back on the road. Walter Kennedy and his family/staff care about people, they just show it by fixing cars.

I took my car in for a valve cover replacement and was quoted $550 for the repair. The company told me my car would be ready for me the next day. After checking in every day for the next few days they kept informing that my car was pushed back and it hasnt been started. I then get a call on the third day saying that the cylinder head was cracked and the cost to fix that was $2200. After much discussion as to how that happened they told me when they were drilling into the hole to rethread the bolt housing, and they cracked the cylinder head. I asked them why they didnt call me first to clear that they were going to drill into my cylinder head and the risk they took with doing so, and they responded with it must of been a communication error. I would never of let them drill into my cylinder head simply because of this risk. I wouldve taken it to a more specialized shop to avoid such an error. I asked them if theyre going to cover that because it happened at their shop and they became defensive saying the head was insalvagable when it came in (I drove it for a long time, including to the shop, as it was only a small oil leak.) After a couple days I receive a message while I was at work saying if the car stayed at their shop I would be getting charged $15 dollars a day for storage as if to add insult to injury. I ended having to pay to get it towed to my house as they said The car isnt able to be driven. Im now stuck with my daily driver immobilized and a 2200 dollar fix to a problem that they caused. My family and I have been loyal to this company for years, but this kind of deciet, and covering up of their own mistakes is unbelievable. Theyve been defensive, unprofessional and disrespectful throughout this whole charade. We will not be returning as they will do whatever they can to get out from their own mistakes on the customers dime.
