Stopped by in summer of 2020 to look at kayaks.Met the owner. He and his staff were very knowledgeable and friendly and took time to explain things about the different types.of kayaks and equipment.I would definitely consider returning to purchase when the time comes to do so.

Went in this morning to pick up Feel Free Moken 10. It was ready to go/load up. The entire staff were very friendly and helpful. They even had a few tips for an old water dog that were helpful. Great experience. Will be my go to shop for things outdoors.

I was heading to Academy today to purchase another fishing kayak and decided to go by Outdoor Supply first. Glad I did. The staff was amazing! They have personality and you dont feel like youre talking to a robot. They made us feel welcome the second we walked through the door. Needless to say I never made it to Academy. I purchased a quality kayak along with 2 paddles and a life jacket. Im extremely happy with my visit and will definitely be a repeat customer!

This place had everything you could need for outdoor fun. Picked up a Patagonia breathable shirt in bright color for kayaking on the lake. Staff was extremely helpful.

The Customer Service at Outdoor Supply Has No Equal.Worlds apart from any outdoor supplier I have ever been to. Charlie was kind enough to loan a couple of kayak paddles so I could take them out for a test spin --before I committed to buying anything! You would certainly never expect (or receive) that level of trust from a Big Box store.Prices are more than fair, considering the expert knowledge and first hand experience that comes along with everything they sell. Took a few shots of my kayak and shiny new paddle for ya!

Charlie and his staff were fantastic to work with from the start. I contacted them by phone looking for a lightweight sea kayak. After talking for more than 20 minutes about possibilities, Charlie emailed me a list of various prospects that were currently in the store. He also arranged for me to come try out any boat I was interested in, at nearby Lake Hickory. At no point did I feel any pressure to have to purchase a boat from them. Clearly Charlie and his staff all had a passion about, in this case, kayaking, and they were too happy to share their enthusiasm and wealth of experience.We arranged to meet on a Saturday. I drove four hours to get to the store and it was worth every moment! They let me browse in the store and answered multiple questions, and repeated questions, very patiently and thoroughly for over an hour.. When I determined which boats I wanted to demo, they loaded them on the truck and sent me off with 2 of his wonderful staff, Braxton and Shelby.We spent hours on the lake. They gave me pointers on how to improve my stroke as well as practical and safety tips. Again they were so patient and fun to be with. You could tell they genuinely enjoyed the sport. I paddled all three boats, switching multiple times in order to compare. And they did not press for me to make a decision or to return to the store. They were happy to walk with me through this process of deliberation!We didn’t leave the lake until I knew which of the three I wanted to buy, and then the process was seamless and easy. Once back at the store, they helped me load the boat on my rack, and made sure my rack was adjusted perfectly for the long trip home. They also discussed with me repair questions and options- things to think about for the future.In dealing with them I feel like I have been welcomed into a kayak tribe and the relationship will continue. I know they will give continued support to any questions that may arise. And when I am back in the area, I will surely visit them! What a treasure to find professional, experienced, and kind staff and owners that not only walk with you through the deliberating process but also in the aftermath of a purchase, with ongoing support!

I really like this place. The staff are super helpful and knowledgeable about their many quality products. Customer service is excellent. Highly recommend. If you go in the main store and dont see kayaks and paddles, etc. just ask a staff member to walk you down to the annex and you will be in kayak land.

I haven’t even purchased anything from this store yet and can’t give them enough compliment on their customer service. Charlie has been more than helpful with helping me find and try out the fishing kayak I want. He has made suggestions but has never persuaded me away from what I want. Top notch place.

Outdoor Supply Company is an amazing shop. This is a family run outdoor sporting goods store with everything you want under one roof for camping, backpacking, kayaking, canoeing and SUP. They focus on customer service, competitive pricing and the finest quality outdoor gear. Much better quality, selection and service than what you find in the box stores and prices compare to online. Maybe the best outdoor and paddling shop within hundreds of miles. Wish I had found them sooner!

My father in law was at your store Saturday. He and I do a lot of hiking, camping, climbing and whitewater kayaking. We love supporting local businesses vs going to REI or ordering online so though we’d check this place out. I was working and he was looking for a light rain jacket so he went by himself to see what was there. When he went into the store he said he was looking for a light hiking jacket and the girl working there showed him a jacket and said it was $100.00. We have jackets that cost $200.00+ so we know it’s not out the ordinary to spend a lot on them. He expressed to her that he was looking for a jacket for around $50.00 and if they had anything. Another employee (a guy) had walked up and upon hearing him say this, laughed at him. Laughed at him..... needless to say he walked out immediately. I’ve worked in customer service for 12 years and am a manager now. If I ever heard an employee of mine laugh at a potential customer it would blow my mind and they would be out the door. Upon hearing this I was speechless and appalled that an employee did this to him. Scoffing or acting pretentious will drive customers away. Word of mouth is the best or worst advertising any business can ask for. I am sorry to say that you lost a customer that day and you’ve lost my patronage as well as any of my friends, colleagues, students and customers. I’ll take the extra drive to go somewhere else. I hope you can use this as a teaching lesson for future employees. Best of luck with your business.

Ive purchased many things here for whitewater kayaking, hiking and camping. Theres lots of stock of high end items and fair prices. The staff is always knowledgeable about whatever Im looking for.

Gosh! I absolutely love this store! Everyone gives genuine help from experience. Its a friendly atmosphere, and everyone is so nice. They have a great variety of things that I love. If they dont have it, they always get them to me at no extra cost. THATS customer service for you! The only thing I dont like is that I always go in there looking for one item and end up getting ten.

I made my first visit to Outdoor Supply Company yesterday. I was looking for a camping cot and a sleeping bag, and I also wanted to look at the selection of fishing kayaks.The staff immediately greeted me and asked if they could help. After I was shown around, the owner gave me great advice on selecting a sleeping bag. He knew the products very well, and I ultimately found a bag that fits my needs perfectly. The price was competitive with what I found in the internet.The store only carried lightweight cots for back-packing. While they didn’t have what I was looking for, they have a great selection of products for packing and mountaineering. They have a nice selection of clothing, hiking shoes and hosiery as well.Next, the owner took me to the separate store space, where I was wowed with his selection of kayaks. He himself is a kayak racer, and he had a passion for and in-depth knowledge of all things kayak. They carry most of the kayak brands I’d consider, including Bonafide, Jackson, Native, and Feel Free.The owner was so gracious with his time and knowledge. They offer demos of any kayaks prior to purchase. There is no place else that I would consider going for kayaks after my visit to Outdoor Supply. It is an awesome store.

Dont order from them online, you pay for returns. There are no RMAs from here. Customer service could care less...gee we are sorry reach deep into your pocket to send back that heavy pool cover we didnt describe very well. Have a nice day! Nope not ordering from you guys again and will let others know...no online orders unless you like paying for returns if its wrong. Lousy customer service.

Charlie was very friendly, and very helpful. We came in 15mn before closing time, but never once felt rushed. He took his time (past closing) and helped us find a nice pair of running shoes. They have a nice selection of high end outdoor equipment and apparel.

Id had some bad experiences here in the past, but decided, recently, to give it another shot. The first visit was pleasant, they had a younger girl working there who was very outgoing and friendly, as well as helpful. I went in a second time after that, and the experience was good as well. The owner helped me find a PFD I had been looking for for a while, and gave me some information on related items I wasnt aware of.

Quick, easy in and out on a Saturday, staff was nice and friendly. They had more than I had time to browse, but landscapers this place is! I will be back!!

Fantastic outfitter! Wide selection of real backcountry equipment, not just the popular stuff you find at other big box retailers. Stuff you spend hours looking at on Amazon because no one carries it locally. These guys probably have it. The amount of backpacking equipment is very nice, tons of clothing & boots, and although the backpack section appeared a little disorganized, there were brands like Osprey, Gregory, and I even saw some Hilleberg tents which you wont normally find around town.Theyve expanded into another storefront a few doors down to house their paddlesports equipment. Dozens of boats from sporty whitewater to drop-prop fishing rigs.I had a very pleasant experience and ended up buying some stuff that was on my Amazon wishlist. Things were a hair cheaper online, but if we dont support local outfitters like this, they wont stay around.
