The cashier last night was SO helpful, friendly, and had a wonderful sense of humor to boot!She went above and beyond to offer suitable options when I wasnt even sure exactly what I was looking for. I learned that they could order a specific part to accommodate my needs at no extra cost to me.

Treated awesome every time. I wish we could bring back more stores independently owned or run by families. I cannot stand the big chains that treat people like another number. Also this store reopened our Post Office and its so pleasant to ship from a friendly environment. I would use Ace any time over the big ones in town. Staff is friendly and helpful. Everyone was wearing a mask. They have so many things and are much more than just a regular hardware store. They have a seasonal section with unique fall and Christmas items. I cannot wait to see what they get for Spring! They also have a post office in the back of the store. The store manager was very nice and helped me load my items in my car! THIS is why I love and support local, family owned businesses!

What can I say ace is the place. Employees were really friendly there and it was laid back.

I was skeptical at first when I realized the Post Office was inside an Ace Hardware to use for my business packages. But—wow,The lady that works that Postal desk is BEYOND kind and my packages get scanned in right away and never get lost compared to using the downtown Post Office. I love this Ace and their amazing staff.

This is a really nice store. Ownership changed and the store is doing alot better. The store was revamped and redesigned on the inside. The staff are really friendly and the store is really easy to navigate.

Waited for almost 15 minutes for someone to help me in the garden center. No one came out. Had to go back to the front of the store. Was going to charge $43 for a flat of Pansies, which is $5.99 for a 4-pack. Ridiculously priced. Left without flowers and frustrated. Bought flowers elsewhere for $14 a flat, which is reasonable everywhere else in Hickory.

Way over priced. Travel just a few miles more and save $$. I understand the convenience but you are pricing yourself out of business and taking advantage of people. Don’t be stingy, just be fair and competitive. Home Depot is 8 more minutes....

Helpful people! I had no idea where items were kept, so a very nice young fella helped me find what I needed and I was on my way. Glad to have this store close by in our community! It really does come in handy so a person doesnt have to drive so far into town for hardware supplies!

I went into this store to pick up a small item this morning. I am a recently retired physician. Employees are not wearing masks despite recent state mandate.In Hickory NC we currently have over 1,000 cases Covid-19 in a county population of 150,000, and cases are rising exponentially. Our 74 year old next door neighbor taken to hospital 2 days ago due to low blood oxygen levels from COVID-19 infection. Family does not know from whom he picked it up. He began to show symptoms only 3 days before hospitalization. He may not survive.COVID-19 may be picked up anywhere at this time in our county. It is inexcusable for store management not to protect customers, AND co-workers, from possible asymptomatic transmission by employees.I will not again use this store until management policy has changed.

I love this store! Staff is so friendly. I love that I can meet my hardware needs as well as visit a post office all in one stop. A cashier named Gwen was so friendly and made me feel welcome! The new lady in the post office is so friendly and carefully explains all procedures and options!

Love going to this Ace store. People are extremely attentive and know what they are doing. Needs more done with the nursery. Opportunities in fall and winter are being missed. Plenty of evergreens, fall plants and potted plants like amyrillis, followed by pots of early spring bulbs like crocus and snowdrops

90% of the time I can find various items that you cant find at Wal-Mart or Lowes plus a convenient location and near me, employees are very helpful and friendly.

Got my first baby chicks from this Ace this spring!! Very healthy birds that have turned into good laying hens this summer. Can get good quality feed for my girls there, too. Very friendly, helpful staff as well!

All Ace Hardwares were like this one, you wouldnt be able to find a parking space to go in and do your shopping, I cant find a part that I want I just stopped in to Ace and they surely will have it up to now. It always surprises me and I always say I should have went there first.

Frendly helpfull workers but they were bought out about a year ago and the new owner has got rid of alot of the stuff i like to buy from there like purina horse feed the feed the know cary is cheaper but the quality is not as good looks like they are know trying to weed out the treager grills and sell pitboss grills that are cheaper brand of grill but they are charging the same price as treager and that is to over priced for a pitboss so cheaper is not always better especially when you are getting over charged for it

Awful store with incompetent staff that didnt greet me at all. They sure did follow me around the store to make sure i didnt steal because, you know, hispanics and blacks are all criminals to them. When i went to check out, the cashier had the body language and speech of a guilty person when I brought this up. I asked to speak to a manager....they dont have one! Never going here again. Maybe its time people shop somewhere that will treat us with respect. All money is green.

Just changed my review from 5 stars to 2.Place has really gone downhill. Employees are now rude and you can tell they dont care. They never seem to have what I want in stock anymore.I will now be a loyal customer of Espeys in Hildebran. They actually seem to give a damn about being a hardware store.
