The staff was very friendly and I felt comfortable shopping there. The quality of the clothing was fair. Some of the items like the tennis shoes seemed to be in a poor condition for me personally. However, they have a large variety and had some descent quality attire to choose from.As far as selling items there. I will not take anything there again. All the items I took were higher quality name brand items and all were in new condition and/or still had tags. Out of about 40 items, they only kept 6 items totaling around $200.00 retail. They offered me $20.00 for them all. I understand they have to pay rent, employees, their self, etc. But, I felt that offer was absolutely ridiculous. (note: you do not have to accept the offer). I felt that if they mark their inventory half price, they will still make a good profit and be able to flow more items through. Just my opinion.

Style Exchange is Absolute gem in Hickory, million times better then Plato’s closet. At least you get greeted with positive energy and smiles. The couple who owns this store are probably nicest people you will ever meet. I’m not a social media person but I thought it’s only fair if I take some time out and let everyone know definitely try this store before you decide to anywhere else, I promise you you won’t be disappointed. They will go out of there way to help you. Very affordable prices!!! Great customer service!!! Last week I visited this store for the first time in well over a year, and I will have to say I was thoroughly impressed! I stopped shopping here due to past employees being very rude and unwelcoming. I never felt like I was welcome there. This visit however was a whole new story! I was welcomed by the staff from the second I walked in the door. The store was clean, organized, and well maintained. I spent quite some time there, as I was searching for an outfit to wear to a bridal shower. I was approached several times by one of the girls that I later learned was the manager, and she graciously spent over 20 minutes with me assisting in helping get some outfits together to try on. She was excellent! Not once did I feel like a bother. She made me feel completely welcome and gave me a truly positive shopping experience. This store has done a complete turn around since my last visit! If you stopped shopping here for any reason, I encourage you to give it another shot. I will most definitely be back and will be recommending to friends and family!

First time in this store this week. Really nice, smells nice and clean and didn’t feel like it was used clothing. They’re really friendly and helpful, Plato’s is just rude so I refuse to go there. This is not a big chain store and they treat their customers with respect they deserve.I like it. The lady owner kept my baby entertained so I could shop, she seems so nice. I’m definitely going to be back here. Prices are good too and they had really good items. I got ugg boots for $35, used but really good condition, I thought that was amazing.

I love this store the staff and atmosphere at style exchange is incomparable to the rest. This store is always clean and well maintained no matter what time of day it is. The clothes are excellent quality. There best feature to me are their pocketbooks. I have purchased many some new and used I love them all and they are priced great. A lot of older people think its just for young people but I am middle aged and I shop there all the time, my daughter who is 12 can now wear clothes from there and she can always find the current styles and trends and I save money so if you have never been there you are really missing out

Visited this store today after a friend recommended. I was very happy with the branded items I picked up, only paying a fraction of the mall prices. Having 3 teenage girls I will be a regular here now. Picked up a few Victoria Secret items for the girls and boots for me, definitely recommend, it’s clean, smells great, presented very nicely and the girls were friendly.

I went last week, New owners have done a great job with this store, Now one feels like shopping there unlike before where the old employees were so Rude and moody. I remember there old manger who used to work there last year she was so stuck up. I went to this store for the first time today and I was pleasantly surprised at how neat and clean the store was, most thrift and consignment stores are quite messy, this was set up in a boutique style. They have outfits put together for you so that is great. The employees were super friendly and helpful. I will be a regular here!

Every time I come to this place I dont feel welcomed because of the way I dress or even because of my race. So I will understand if they dont say anything when we first walk in because they can be busy at times but its not acceptable for them not to ask if we need help or not to welcome us because when I come in they dont say anything but when the next person comes in who is a white female or thinner female they say something along the lines of hi welcome to style Exchange but has not happened once but every time I go their so I dont recommend going their. This place is absolutely great to shop at now, they have really upped their game in the last few months, you can see huge improvement under the new ownership. The new owners are so nice and helpful. Ive bought clothes here a few times. Some of the girls that worked there were nice. They asked me if I needed help with anything and all that. But I had a bad experience with selling clothes. I took my NICE GENTLY used clothes that I just dont touch in my closet to them. And they said it had stains like what??!! Stains where!! Im selling them because they are in GOOD condition. Like, you just lost some good clothes that you probably make money out of! Never selling clothes here again!

This place is better than Plato’s Closet by FAR!! The prices are much better compared to Plato’s and their employees are MUCH nicer. I’ve shopped and bought from both but I’ll only ever go here now. One day I went to both looking for shorts that fit and I found great options at Plato’s but they wanted full price for them as if they weren’t used clothes, after I came to style exchange and I was able to find name brand shorts that were cute and within my budget and the ladies were very kind to let me in and out of the dressing room without hassle (even though I was being bothersome, they didn’t think so and helped me anyway they could)The only problem I have is their selection isn’t as big as Plato’s but you can still find almost anything you’re looking for.

Store itself has very friendly staff and a great selection of clothes BUT I will NEVER take any of my clothes back to this place! They kept 1 pair of jeans, 1 sweater & a pair of grey boots and gave me $9 store credit! I would have done better by selling online. Such a HUGE disappointment!

I went back in there after long time one of my friends told me it’s been taken over by new people. I must say the new folks they are so nice and friendly, I think they are husband and wife, thank goodness the old owner and manager have gone they were so stuckup especially there old moody manager who just never smiled. I picked up great bargain at style exchange got myself Mk jacket brand new with tags for $65.00. New owners are so friendly much better than that moody and stuck up Aqua B owner who used to own style exchange, even the old store manager was little stuck up but I’m glad to see new owners . I went in with 7 pairs of jeans. 2 pair of Wranglers brand new with tags, 2 pair of Levis new with tags. There was also 2 pair of Wranglers in excellent shape but used and a pair of Levis the same. I forgot about them and didnt go back. The young lady told me they would call me to remind me about them because I told her due to my medication I have short term memory problems. Did they call????? NO!! Anyway I got a ten dollar store credit and the rest of the jeans were given to charity!!!!!!!???????? Whatever. BEWARE!!

I am not very happy.. I took 13 pairs of jeans all miss me or American Eagle a bag full of very nice clothes and corral vintage boots (which I paid $300.00 for) they tried to keep 2 pairs of shorts and my boots for $50.00.. when a majority of the clothes hanging in there had small holes or was out dated. I will not ever try and do business with them again.

My first time at this store went in with elderly parents the owner was there who offerd my parents seating and drinks. I️ was so impressed with there product and prices, reallly nice store with friendly employees and amazing owner. This will be my first choice to shop from now on.Thank you guys!!

I’m leaving this review based on my most recent visit today. If I could leave a seperate review for my previous visit I would because they were two totally different experiences. My daughter and I stopped on late Saturday evening after being referred to this store by a friend. We were excited to give it a try but were quickly disapppointed by the service we received by those working. We were “greeted” by a tall girl with dark hair almost black and shorter blonde. I use greeted lightly as it wasn’t very “welcoming” and more so forced. As we looked around my daughter saw several things hanging up that we needed help getting down for her to look at. When we asked someone to help us we were made to feel like we were interrupting and they couldn’t be bothered to help us. It was very apparent that their attitude was they were ready for us to leave. My daughter and I left confused since my friend that referred us spoke so highly of the customer service. After some encouragement from our friend, my daughter and I decided to give it one more try and go again this afternoon. It was a completely different experience. We were enthusiastically greeted by two different girls. One with long brown hair and one with short brown/black hair. This time we actually felt welcomed upon entering. We asked both workers for help on seperate occasions and they were both eager and willing to help us each time. They were very sweet and kind which was refreshing after our last visit. This is the service we had heard of and came for. They genuinely made us feel like family it was a great experience. We will be back, but will definitely keep in mind who is working.

They have a great selection of clothing and even carry clothing for the bigger girls like me. Ive never come in and not found something new for my wardrobe.

Worst experience ever! My elderly aunt dropped off clothes and was told it was OK to pick them up later that week. Upon returning to the store, we were told her clothes had been donated to Goodwill and there was nothing good in the drop off! There were name brand clothes and shoes with tags (MK, Sperry Shoes, etc). After mutpile calls and ridiculous lies from the manager the final outcome was...all her bags, 4, were miraculously found after returning to the store. It would take entirely too long to tell everyone about all of the lies I was told. Finally, after informing them that I would call the BBB, they returned everything. But not before telling my aunt to go search through everyone elses junk in the back. DO NOT TRUST OR DO BUSINESS with this sorry excuse for an establishment. BBB has been made aware of this incident.

To drop of items and fill out your name and phone number for them to contact you once theyre finished, and then not contact you.....then to top it off because you didnt get contacted.....they donated your clothes they didnt choose, the very same day. In my eyes, they were very nice clothes. They may not have thought so, but to just donate them is absurd. More than the same day notice is not fair. The girl at the desk stated she would call, and didnt explain any further. Then I was told a couple of my item were kept and I had a $2.30 credit. WoW!!! Not even worth my gas to drive there. I have never found anything there that isnt washed to death or stretched and faded. The things I took were in much better shape, and name brand.

I asked for an item to be held for me. They told me they would hold it for 30 mins. I walked in on the 30 min mark and they said they already put it on hold for someone else. Then I checked fb and they said they would hold it for the other person till 5 (which is 3 hours away) I had called and messaged them on fb telling them I was on my way. A few days before I had called to have a pair of shoes held. I drive up there and they are the wrong ones. Then they message me a day later and say they do have the ones I wanted. Style Exchange used to have workers that were not immature and unfair. Now they run a very bad business. The clothes also have had holes under arms and they would not do anything. We will not be shopping here anymore and will spread the word about this.
