The shop is Kind of a boutique vibe. The craft coffees are good but pour overs are not. The food is bland but there’s a large selection. Limited seating for working and minimal customer service.

Highly recommend you stop here for a delightful cup of coffee! The best part is that there are fun treasures spread throughout the store so you can find a funny coffee cup, cute jewelry, and a wonderful selection of snacks, teas, and coffee. I got a bag of Caramel Pecan Pie coffee to take home and it is the best coffee Ive tried this year!

Such a gem! Vegan and gluten free chai muffin & golden milk almond latte were wonderful. Compostable materials, organic high quality teas for purchase. Plus Poetry books, locally made jewelry, and cards. Really happy I found this place searching for a “tea room” in HKY. I’m shocked it even exists!2 negatives: slow WiFi 2 mbps, and 1 hr. time limit for inside tables.

A nice coffee shop with a humongous selection of coffees. The Ice Coffee Late I ordered was good, but could have been a bit cooler. The place was busy but the staff was still very patient and prompt. Food was good as well, and portions are big, maybe a bit too heavy for breakfast but tasty none the less.

This is a great little coffee shop. So many amazing flavors to choose from and the baked goods were excellent!!!! The staff was super helpful and friendly. Highly recommend a stop if your in the area.

Great spot for coffee and food, with numerous other gift items and provisions to browse. Coffee is roasted in house, with many whole bean varieties to take home. Similarly, a large tea wall provides wide variety for the tea lover. Breakfast sandwiches are generously sized and tasty, and come at a very low price compared to many breakfast options. The staff was all friendly, and our food was quickly available. The only other feedback I have is that the lemon blueberry scone was a bit dry, and a little light on flavor and sweetness. Otherwise, the overall experience was terrific.

Ended up pouring my drink out. Most of the time when a shop has that many options and things on the menu Im scared of quality. I knew better than to try a pour over from this place but I tried it...and regretted it.

First time stopping by; being on a keto diet usually limits the different types of coffee drinks I can get. The coffee menu here is so extensive and what makes it really amazing is a large portion of the menu drinks can be made sugar free! I was so impressed with my almond joy latte, that I asked and was able to purchase the exact syrups I can make at home, since I dont live near by. I highly recommend this place and will be stopping by on my next trip to Hickory.

Oh, wow. This place was a real find. Im so grateful for the coffee shop search button on my GPS apps on my phone--they take me to some of the best places that arent a Dunkin Donuts. Beautiful coffee, the Green Goddess bowl was outta this WORLD, and the selection of coffee paraphernalia and unique gifts and local art was a balm for the soul. Im really happy I found this place and look forward to returning.

Love the variety of food and drinks. Always fresh tasting. Hot drinks are hot and cold drinks are cold. Reasonably priced for fresh made to order food.

I love the ambiance of a busy coffee shop, but without it being actually crowded. Local artists have their compositions on display for sale, and I personally enjoy the fresh tea and coffee bean displays where you can purchase a custom amount to take home. My favorite is the Edgar Allen Poe beverage

I had avacado toast and a pour over, husband had yogurt. Everything was fresh and delicious and the staff was very kind.

I could see the staff seemed to be short staffed so I dont want to be too harsh, but I need to share my experience. I walked in and was immediately told there was no seating and that they would pack my food to go. People who came after me got seating and the restaurant was almost empty with numbers on all the tables when I left (it was full before). Anyways I waited 20 minutes to get my soup while other people got their things and then my water bottle was forgotten, and I felt like I was being glared at the entire time. Im nothing but polite to service workers and I understand this is probably an off day, but I probably wont be coming here when I need to study again. The soup and coffee were delicious though, and the blonde woman who took my order was sweet when she did! Another note is that I could not find a list of flavors anywhere inside, which made it difficult to order the coffee.

I love when you have to come a small town and find a little (probably family own) business.Wonderful place to sip an aromatic cup of coffee; the people working behind the counter are very cordial and helpful, taking their time to explain all the many different options they have available; not the dreadful feeling you get a some big coffee chains (where you better know the names of their different options) no this place is a great experience with the abundance of options and also very cozy

I’m just recently getting the chance to explore this area since moving here in May 2020. My fiancé and I stumbled upon this charm and I love the atmosphere! I’ve been here a few times now, and the coffee selection is wonderful. I will say that I wanted the lentil soup to be a little better. The beans could’ve been cooked for longer... they were still hard. I think if they cooked them until tender it would’ve been so good. We will be back!

Beautiful place to go for a desert and a good coffee, large variety of grains and bakery. The atmosphere is very cool too, artistically and comfy to expend a great time with friends. Also an outside with tables for those with pets.

Great place to get those Specialty coffees and well worth the price of them. They have an over whelming list to choose from and my own opinion which is better than the franchise of other guy. I strongly support our local businesses. The thing I love most about this business is that they have a big variety of flavored coffee beans that can be ground up for you to take home. And the business that they take in says it all for five stars.

Nicely decorated local coffee shop that goes the extra mile in encouraging conversation and fellowship. I had a fruit smoothie which seemed rather bland, but I am told the coffee is much better. Certainly worth giving it a try again for something caffeinated.

I had the brewed coffee from several selections on the bar while viewing some of the art and jewelry displayed on every wall. There are several areas to sit around with games and tables. This shop also has tea in addition to various bean coffee by pound. Most of these are flavored varieties with a few single origin options. The location has ample parking downtown with other shops nearby.

The chicken salad melt and pasta salad are amazing, and the lemon zest shortbread cookies are divine! This is such a lovely place, definitely go!

I love the coffee here, but the food is good also. I had the chicken salad sandwich and it was so good. Ive also had some of the vegetarian options and they are tasty as well.

Very small. Very touchless. Opportunity to leave tip on your card or pay with cash before you receive your food and drink. You pick up your drink, server brings food in a box and you dont see them again. You are allowed one hour to eat and/or visit then you are asked to leave. Not my kind of restaurant.

Just started getting out and about after Covid and made it back to TB last week. Still great coffee and an excellent Glorious Morning muffin. YUM!!This week a friend wanted me to meet for coffee, but not in the downtown area so we went to a different place. The coffee was the same price as TB but it tasted like what you would expect from a gas station back in the 90s. Thank goodness TB is still surviving and thriving!!!

What a great local coffee shop, you really dont see places like this anymore and its nice to have a hand made drink in a real mug made by someone who is passionate about coffee. Nothing against the big coffee chains but they dont compare to a local place like this. Great selection of drinks at a fair price.

First time.... but not the last!!! This place was so good. So many choices... good choices! I got the spinach bites and I could eat those every day!!!! So good! Kale salad and added a scoop of chicken salad, very good. Lavendar vanilla Latte with Almond milk. The coffee/tea options are huge. Tables outside. Shop inside. Everyone can find something to eat here! Vegan, GF, Dairy Free. Parking on the street is 3hr limit... gather your friends and Go. I promise you will not be disappointed.

I saw this place had several vegan options so I was excited to get out of the rain and enjoy a late lunch. My whole experience yesterday was kind of distasteful.Let me start by saying the actual cafe is super cute and I love their support of other small businesses throughout the shop. Their menu is more diverse than I anticipated and definitely had an overwhelming amount of drink flavors, it’s fun and geared towards customization which is awesome.I ordered a green machine smoothie and opted to add banana and almond milk. I also ordered a tempeh chicken-less salad on a bagel...after I ordered I requested to sit and the woman who took my order confirmed through another employee that there was an available table.I took my order number and went to sit down and was told by a couple ladies sitting down across from the empty table that the table ‘was taken’. There was no signs of anyone sitting down and I told them that the staff had told me I could sit there...I immediately felt uncomfortable and walked back up to the front to tell the staff I would just take my order to-go since apparently the table was in fact already in use. Two women in line to order spoke up and apologized and offered the table back to me, to which I declined due to the awkwardness of not wanting to sit across from the ladies who tried to tell me where I could and couldn’t sit. Also I wanted them to enjoy each other’s company! I gave them my order number and waited for my to-go.Meanwhile ANOTHER person had put their bag on the empty table before the women I gave the table to could go sit! Therefore leaving them without a place to sit!I guess my main concern here is the confusion with the seating area. I know you are doing your best with COVID protocol, but the lack of communication and the chaos of it all was really off putting. I understand that it wasn’t necessarily any employee’s fault either because it’s not their job to conduct musical chairs. Maybe having a sign indicating that you must order before seating would help?Now for the food itself. My smoothie was probably the worst smoothie I’ve ever had. Not to mention paid for. I’m honestly not sure what went wrong. To advertise you use frozen fruit, you must use 1/4 cup or less because it was soup with chunks of kale. Smoothies with frozen fruit should be flavorful, nice and thick, especially since I requested the addition of frozen banana. It was also supposed to have ginger and a bit of OJ to which I couldn’t taste either. It was basically a cup of almond milk. Absolutely disappointing. The tempeh chicken salad was super oily and underwhelming. The side of kale slaw had good flavor but it was such a pathetic amount and looked like it was prepped 6 days ago.I want to give this place another try in the future because I like supporting family business, but I must say...not a good impression.***EDIT: Owners refunded my order which was extremely kind and not necessary!! But very much appreciated. I would have continued to give them my business regardless, but bumping this up a star for their efforts in reaching out. My wife and I live in Charlotte and really enjoy sampling fine coffees in boutique coffee shops. We recently stumbled upon Taste Full Beans coffee shop on a trip to Hickory for shopping. What a delightful experience! Our drink of choice is the original version of the flat white, a drink that originates from down under (Australia/New Zealand). We have had flat whites at several up scale Charlotte coffee houses, but this flat white made by Sam is the very best we have ever had! They have a wide variety of coffee beans for purchase. We love the Einstein dark roast. The ambiance is quaint and friendly. There are several tables to enjoy coffee and conversation. And if all of that werent enough, they have a wide selection of teas, teapots, coffee and artworks. And, we also love the salads, parfaits and chocolate goodies. Jena and the staff are very attentive and friendly. We look forward to many more visits.

Great spot for coffee or tea. I love that all of the food ingredients are locally sourced and that soups, hummus, salads, scones, cookies etc are homemade. The attentiveness of the staff and their dedication to safety by requiring all guests to wear a mask is most appreciated. There are negative comments on here regarding mask wearing and time limitations on visits. This is all due to COVID restrictions that are mandated by the state. Also who in their right mind would bring food from another restaurant and think they can occupy a table without purchasing anything? Love this family owned business!

My wife loves the flavored coffee beans and they do a good grind. The shop has a way more pleasant atmosphere than the chain stores. They have added a line of teas to their coffee offerings .

Awesome quiche and coffee. The folks here are always kind and its such a nice location to just sit and have a cup of joe or tea. They also offer various artistic pieces from local artists which is nice.

We live like 10 mins away and I never knew there was a coffee shop there, I am an iced coffee regular drinker so I was excited to try it, my 10 year old had already gone by and told me about it. There are many many options so we had a hard time deciding. Every drink we had tasted exactly like the flavor listed. We had chicken salad sandwiches and wraps. I thought it had a great fresh taste. They were busy and evrryrhing was made fast. We will definitely be back and try different stuff.

Great coffee, great environment; however, I was disappointed with the service. Upon receiving my coffee I was told that there was a 1-hour limit in the shop, which I can totally understand. I often ask baristas if its okay to sit and do work. In this case after my hour was up I went back to the bar and asked if I could make another purchase to sit for another hour. I was told that I couldnt. The place was completely empty, so I was somewhat mystified that I was turned away from making another purchase. They have 2 out of 3 important factors that make for a truly great coffee shop. Theyve cultivated a near perfect environment and the coffee was superb. Now they just need to step up their service and it will be the best option around. One final note: Coffee shops are meant to be places where reading and writing can happen at a leisurely pace. So long as customers are not taking advantage of the business by holding up tables for hours with guests waiting, then this really shouldnt be a problem.

Always been a big fan of tasteful beans. The owners are good people and contribute much to our downtown community. Prices are SO reasonable and arguably one of the cheaper places to eat in hky, with some of the freshest ingredients. The menu will be sure to satiate your hunger. I recommend the quinoa or green goddess bowl. The spinach bites are yum. My husband loves their chicken salad. Coffees and teas are delightful too!

They make an exceptional latte here. The The baked goods are very tasty also. The 60 minute time limit on occupying a table is not appreciated however.

Was told I had an hour to stay inside despite 1 other person being there. Gave me an “arrival” sign with ten minutes deducted for the time they didn’t realize I was staying inside. Odd and unwelcoming.Food was great. Service was great. Can recommend and will be back.

Good hot chocolate but unfriendly staff! I went with some friends for a mid morning snack. The woman taking our order asked us very rudely if we would be eating in or taking it to go and proceeded to tell us it would be a 30 minute wait to eat there. This in itself is fine. We understand the limited seating and amount of people that can be in there during these times but it was said to us with a terrible attitude and so rudely that I personally will not be back! Unfortunate because like I mentioned the hot chocolate was good and I’m sure other menu items are as well. Oh well!

Tasteful bean is my favorite Hickory location. I visit this coffee shop regularly and I am always satisfied with the service and coffee. The coffee shop itself is colorful and eye-catching and features work from local artists including paintings, pottery, and jewelry. They are eco conscious as well providing an alternative to plastic straws and looking for ways to cut plastic. I highly recommend this shop.
