I always enjoy visiting this store. I can find crafts and things to do that I didnt even know I wanted to learn. Fabric selection is unparalleled and there are items here you can find anywhere else. Staff is always friendly and helpful and eagerly help you find what you need. Worth the trip and be prepared to stay a while and look through all the fun treats!

Im working on a small project and the staff was incredibly helpful! They were all kind. But, a blonde girl named Lindsey didnt hesitate to treat me like an old friend. This completely turned around my day to be a brighter one and I cannot thank her enough for all of her help!The fabric was reasonably priced and great quality. The sales made it that much better! The organization of the store helped me alot considering I didnt know exactly what I was looking for. The store and its staff are always wonderful!

I shopped in this store yesterday. Joe greeted me with a very pleasant smile. He was very helpful and just went the extra mile to assist me. Elsye was very helpful too. She also went the extra mile for me. I love shopping in this store. The staff is friendly and helpful. I really appreciate going somewhere that makes you want to shop. I will be back soon. Been going for years and never reviewed. Great selection of sewing fabrics and items for other hobbies. The staff is always patient and helpful with my questions. They give great answers and advice!

Very wide selection even for a male went for fabric for a headliner in a classic truck and they were super helpful belive they guessed I was out of place me and my 15yr old son lol 😆 but was willing to help and even answer all the stupid questions I had

I called Joann in Hickory to see if they price matched, they said they did. When I went to checkout, I tried to show the hobby lobby ad to price match, the girl said we dont price match. I said the sign behind you says you do and I called and was told you do. Other girl spoke up and said, you have to bring the ad in. I looked up Joann price match and it says you can show online ad. I find it odd, they would not honor.

Neat stuff. Employees were ok. Felt kinda like an outsider and felt like I was being watched.

The selection was Okay. The staff who helped me, (seemed to be the lead) Glenda and her associate Kelly? gave off a click vibe, and the costumers seemed like they were things to deal with. Definitately not a warm and friendly environment. Not sure Ill be going back.

I have a medical condition where I can not wear a mask. She refused me service. Stated I have to wear a mask even with a medical condition. She also yelled, from her perch, at me causing a scene and people to stare. Obviously yall discriminate against the disabled.I maintain my six foot distance from people. Would I have been told I could not shop if I was wheelchair bound? Some medical conditions are not visible.I am very upset and offended by this along with being discriminated against. I will not be back to this store.

Very rude girl. Told me I had to leave and could not shop because I have an medical exemption and did not have a mask on. I was the only one there. And the company policy clearly states the allotment for exemptions

Its an arts and crafts store and if youre into that they have a wide variety of anything you can want. Im not into that thats the reason I gave it one star.

No matter what it is that Im looking for, this place doesnt have it. Staff arent helpful. The remnant bin isnt even discounted, so Im not sure the point of having it. This place just makes me miss Hancock.

Rude. Had markers hanging on a $5.99 hook except the markers were actually $15.99. The girl at the register was eating and seemed a little bothered that I was needing to check out. She was so BLAH I said never mind.. I dont need anything yall have. And I left. Not going back.

I love crafting with yarn, beads, and fabric, so while shopping here for Tulle I found quite a bit of items that I can use. Fair prices and a beautiful selection of fabric to choose from. Fun store for those who love fabric for sewing projects!

The last time I visited this store I spoke to the manager, which was a while ago. I politely asked her why all the fabric was not turned out for viewing. The bolts were jammed together so tightly with the fabric wrong side out that it was difficult to look at each piece. I pulled 2-3 out and then got annoyed and stopped looking. That’s when I spoke to the manager. She was annoyed that I was as annoyed. Her attitude drove me out of the store and I will not return.

Now provide no bags, I spent a good amount on fabric, it was raining.. by the time I arrived home I couldn’t believe the water damage to my purchases. I told the sales associate at the time of purchase about my concerns due to storming weather she was uninterested stating read this. No bags. Will not be back way too aggravated, ridiculous

A hit or a miss . The store manager Glenda is a wonderful person. Its not her fault that this store dont have what Morganton and Asheville or Winston Salem has. You would think that corporate would get it together. This store is very clean and service is always excellent just wished they had more selection.

Nice place, prices are steep, but they have sales and crazy coupons all the time. If you need something for a craft quick stop here, they might have what you need.

Super small store. If youre there for fabric, awesome. Anything else, dont get your hopes up. Also saw very few staff when I was there, so long waits at customer service.

I paid and registered for a sewing class online. I drove 45 minutes just to be told that I was the only one that registered and therefore the class was canceled. A phone call or at least an email would’ve been appreciated. How can you cancel a paid class and not notify the person who paid and registered? Horrible customer service.

Fat quarters were more expensive there than other craft store. They have more selections for different patterns, and material for bigger projects. The store was very neat, and staff was friendly, and helpful.

I had a very bad experience today with Glenda the manager.after finding out cash register didnt work and they were told by Corp office to close but to allowed the customers to put our merchandise on hold if we wanted to.Glenda came very rude telling me that we need to hurry and they couldnt cut any material for me wich it wasnt true.Another employee was doing the job helping customers while Glenda was just pushing a cart around. When someone was knocking on the door she let go of the cart pushing it very hard against me without even looking that it almost hit my right hip Im 57 years old dont have that quick movement anymore. I ask her if she was having a bad day she say no do you? I told her I was asking her because she almost hit me with the cart.Her answer was pretty rude in a very angry manner by saying you should move! I was being helped by one of the employees at the cutting table didnt noticed coming until it was very close to my body.She said Im sorry but you should move.And she went off on me.I told her she needed to learn how to respect and treat customers. So she walked away.My opinion is that this kind of employees are very dangerous to work around customers.Corp office needs to take care of this matter.

If I could give this store a 0 I would. I came in for a sewing class last month and had a horrible customer service experience. Not only did they neglect to inform me the class was canceled before I drove 40 minutes but the manager did not even acknowledge me when I stood in the store, until I spoke up. I ended up contacting the corporate office. They apologized but it honestly did not make up for the unprofessional people and lack of customer service that I endured that day. I will never return to this store again. I should have read these reviews before I signed up!

Needed new looped yarn, had some odd colors on sale, I needed white which was larger bundle and not on sale. My total was $31.00 before tax, scanned coupon off my phone, and total was few cents over $16.00. What a deal ! Thanks Joanns !

The staff was not friendly at all. One employee walked by us 3 times and never even said hello. Prices were high compared to competition.

Employees were to busy giggling and not paying attention when assistance was needed. I left the items I wanted to purchase on the register counter and walked out after standing there for a while and pushing the assistance button.

I went in a few weeks ago and needed a remnant measured. The manager had her back to me as she was doing something. I waited about 3 minutes and she finally acknowledged me. Then she called for someone to come and help. This took about another 3 minutes. She seemed bothered by me. I was the only one in the store. Today, I took a Serger that I bought at a JoAnns store to get help with the threading. I was the only one in the store. Both of the employees in the store said they could not help as they do not know how to thread a Serger. They said I could go to a place in Hildebran that does repair. They were nice enough to write it down for me. The machine is not broken. Then they recommended that I go to Lee Sewing. If the store sells machines, they should provide their employees with some knowledge of how to thread it and how it works. Very disappointed in the lack of customer service/knowledge. No more JoAnn Fabrics for me. Customer service/knowledge is essential.

Traveled from another county to this Hickory location to buy two colors of fuseable pellon fabric stablizer. I was the only customer in the store. After looking around without success, tried to find someone to assist. First saw only one employee who was on the phone. Another employee then appeared in the fabric area but ignored me even after I asked twice excuse me, but can you tell me where to find pellon. I was finally acknowledged by telling me it was right in front of my face. Employee did come over after I advised what I needed it for & what weight would be correct weight. And I will say she then became most helpful. Long story made short, I traveled all the way back home only to discover one of the colors was NOT fuseable but had to be sewn in!!!

Some of the younger employees try very hard but with management like that it cant be easy. Was really hoping management would change when ownership changed but no. Joanne hired her right back.
