Super great place. Good people to deal with

Able to find variety of items from clothing, to automotive, to lawn equipment, and more in one store.

I picked up some ratchet straps the ones that were green (4 pack) and they were on sale for $8.99. Thats a good deal for some straps. They also got some bigger straps that are yellow and they are 2 inches wide and 27 ft long for $9.99 a piece time to stock up. That deal has been going on for a couple of months. I recommend anybody to go up there and stock up. Team members Lisa and Dee and Barbara thank you for your time you all are awesome!

If you have something you need as far as tools, or anything mechanically inclined, this is the place in hickory. most times they do have it in stock, if not you can order online for delivery to store(but remember, if you do order online, an the item doesnt work for you, you will have to call the 800 number to get an return to the store or they wont take it back (odd but true). most of the employees are easy to get along with an provide good help in finding things in store. remember a lot of items are china made an most arent the best in fit an finish, neither will they last very long, most of the finishes (painted items) are easy to rust an most items that are made of cast(motors, pumps) still have the casting left on that should have been removed in quality control. nevertheless, their items are mostly good quality an the service/help is excellent.

Friendly, fast, and knowledgeable. Nice alternative from Lowes and Home Depot. Online checkout was user friendly and easy to understand.

Ive shopped there less often than I might if they were closer than a 23 minute ride and a bit off my route when in Hickory for a reason. However, as others have said, they do seem t have a great selection of tools and equipment. They beat Lowes and Harbor Freight and Home Depot hands down.They honor a veteran with a discount - something I only discovered after years of shipping there - even on sale prices.Ive never had reason to complain about the staff or service and, while I dont know anyone by name, all Ive dealt with have been courteous and professional.

I called for an item yesterday, they pleasantly took time to find it, even though they were short on help. Went and purchased items today, and as always, Dee Dee is the most helpful and kind! She always looks for ways to save you money. So nice to shop at a place where folks are kind, professional, and know their stuff! Great stuff there!

Fast service. Lisa helped me find the lift, answered my questions on the different models and helped bring the lift to the counter. William was also pleasant and helpful.The lift #81869 is the 11’ model, does not require any tools to set up and I was able to install 12’ long boards on the ceiling by myself.

I enjoy shopping at this store because Lisa and Dee Dee along with the rest of the staff are so pleasant to deal with. The products are backed by the manufacturer or the store but they always make things right or they always have with me. It is a one stop shopping place for us as they carry a little of everything needed to complete a project. My hat is off to the Hickory Store and I will be back!

We frequent this store because of the excellent customer service given by Dee Dee. She is amazing with all of the customers. My husband and I will wait for her, even if she is working with someone else. she is worth the wait. I hope you know what a gem you have in her. Ive also recently gotten to work with Savannah. She has an excellent personality for customer service and was very helpful.

Visited the store 3/25/2021 searching for an Air Hammer.. associate/employee Lisa offered assistance.. Extremely helpful, pleasant, friendly. She shortened my search time, found the correct product, walked me to check out, made sure the online discount I found was applied correctly. I wish all retailers and big box stores were this helpful.. Great experience.

Stores are generally ok but the company as a whole are con-artists. They advertise things that can only be bought a store but IF searches show a store with an inventory, the Hot Items are usually 1 or none. Have just about totally quit shopping here for this reason.

I would like to give a huge thank you to Barbara, Tenley and Dee for helping me out with my scaffolding purchase. They were so helpful from the moment we walked into the store until we left like friends! Also for William who helped load all of that up in the truck - great job! Awesome people to do business with; thank you all so much!

I went there to get some heavy duty shelving units for my garage. They were not on display but Team Member Brenda Cody was very helpful and had someone bring 2 out from the back. She also matched the online price for the units and I was able to get an additional discount. They also brought the shelving units to my truck (they were heavy). Very good customer service and they had what I needed at a good price.

I ordered a hitch mount crane in store and paid with cash. I was blessed with one so had no need of the one I ordered so I came to get a refund at the store I ordered at, they told me it would have to be recieved into the store before I could get a refund. I came to the store when I called to find out it was dilivered. I went to be refunded and the manager said they do not refund over a certain amount and will have to issue a check from Corporate. I have waited 4 weeks and still no refund. I called them and no one cares about getting my refund. DO NOT buy from them if you can help it because they will give you a hard time if you ever need a refund. I pay with cash i want a cash refund. They treat their customers as rugs.

The prices are on the high side, but they have the absolute best selection on most items. And a pro desk, if you need a part for a small engine or mower they can find it. There are other stores like NT&E in the area, they are cheaper, however they lack the selection of items. If you cant find what you need stop here.

Team member Deedee was very helpful and made sure we got the best price. She even found a tape measure to check our lug spacing on new wheel. Cashier Emma confirmed our pricing before finalizing the sale. Both ladies were friendly, courteous and had a warm sense of humor.

I manage a wood mill in newton and always find what I need at northern. Whether safety gear or tools just cant beat the prices. De de and William are always polite and professional, they know their products well.

Checked the website and drove 44 miles for a product that was supposed to be in stock at this store. 😕 Got there to find out that theyve been sold out for a while and have backordered 3000 of the item and cant guarantee delivery before June. Also apologies for website not showing correct inventory. Nice going Northern Tool! 2 hours out my day and gas for absolutely nothing!

I saw an item on the internet a couple days ago. I took my coupon in hand and couldnt find what I wanted. Both similar items were significantly higher than the internet price . I upgraded my model for the same price, Barbara, Donna, and the gentlemen were most helpful. I got my item with my 20 dollars off coupon on 100.

I went to N.T. this morning and asked for help getting a Carport Canopy and Lisa that works there at the Hickory Store was So Wonderful !!!! She went and got my Tent and the thing weights 50 pounds or more! And she took it out and loaded it for me!!! I couldnt load it because of a neck Injury! And she loaded it!!! Im So Greatfull for her help!! Thank You Lisa for your Hard Work!! And Thank You Brenda for Being So Pleasently Nice ringing me up!! You guys make it so much more pleasant to shop at N.T. because I cant stand hateful Employees that doesnt like their jobs!! Will Recommend Anyone to shop at N.T. Hickory!!

Visited on 4/5/21 very helpful and friendly staff. The manager even came over to help because the other employees were helping other people. Brenda/Lisa helped me after she finished helping the other customer.

I visited northern tool in hickory North Carolina after I ordered the wrong item on line. Savannah helped me get the correct item. Everyone at the store was very helpful with my questions. Staff were very friendly and nice in helping us find that nothing we came for was in stock and explained that the warehouse was 738 units behind on utility carts and over 2000 units behind on lift assists for trailers. That if ordered the utility cart wouldnt come in until after July. This was a little unsettling as we drove over an hour to this location for these specific items looking to spend upwards of $200 in the store.

Love this store. In all the years I have shopped there, I only had 1 bad experience with a young guy telling me they had a product that they apparently did not have. I shop here a lot and since I havent seen him since that day, I just overlooked it.

Staff are always friendly and helpful. The quality of products cant be beat. My go to for the tools I need around the farm. I visited in April 2021 to purchase 3 scaffolding sets and from the moment we walked into the store until we pulled out after loading up it was a great experience. I went to the store for a 27 lb. Bag of oil-dri which by the was $ 6.00 . I am not a visitor of this store much so I didnt know my way around. I went to the cashier up front to see if I could get the oil-dri brought up front. Lisa Dee Bar bora was her name, she said sure we can do that. She called on a walkie to a representative who brought the bag upfront on a cart. The rep waited untill I paid for the purchase and led me outside with the cart. She said which car. I told her the car I was in and she put the bag of oil-dri in the back. Very considerate people as I am 67 years old . I give them an A+ .

I really like the tools offered by Northern Tool, but the ladies that work at the Hickory NC store are the best of any store I have ever shopped.

They had a 50-yard/12 gauge construction drop cord on sale for $25. Thats a good deal, just what I needed. They also had their trailer tires and wheels on sale as well. I am going back tomorrow to get one of those. Good place to shop. Especially when things are on sale time to rack up.

Bought a skid sprayer online it says it will withstand chemicals I bought it 15 days ago not even 30 days has passed and the chemical sprayer has failed The store said they would not warranty it and the customer service people said they would not warranty the thing on their site it says two year warrantyWill never buy another thing from northen tool cheap products wont spend a dime in that store again ever !

Overall experience was fine, but when I got onto the site, I was offered $5 off my first order if I signed up to get emails. The email came shortly thereafter, but there was not link, no code to get that promised discount. When I clicked on what was in that email, it only took me to the website to shop. I had to do a chat to get the code. Too cumbersome!
