A bit far from my house, but the extra 15min are totally worth it. I bought 2 rod/reels yesterday, but i was not 100% convince about one of the combos, I called them and they told me come by and we will exchange the rod. going there you are getting 3 key things 1/ support your local tackle store. 2/ best price in town. 3/customer service. My first time visiting this location, I was greeted with tremendous service and knowledge, i am not a fisherman at all but I love to relax and be able to get some dinner, Lazaro made that possible along with Juan, these gentlemen asure me with what they sold me, the advices, and even setting up my rod to catch fish, below you see my catches, never I thought it was gonna be a great day, Lazaro and Juan were amazing and thrutful, for sure will be going back again and again. This guy is amazing!! Not only does he have great pricing but he’s super knowledgeable. Recommended some good spots and we started crushing peacock bass almost immediately. Also the word on the street is that he trains each shiner individually, massages them and then has a full training montage. Come here you won’t regret it!

We made our first visit to Captain Jax on a Sunday afternoon when all other bait shops were closed. It was a delight to see friendly knowledgeable employees who were eager to help and offer recommendations. Clean, organized, and friendly! What else can you ask for? They had large Shinners and a great worm selection for freshwater fishing. We heard they also do Shark fishing trips too for those looking to try that. Juan at the counter said they open at 4:00am on Saturday and Sunday and close at 7:00pm. Prices were great too! This will be the only bait shop we go to from now on.

Stopped by today at Captain Jax’s for the first time to buy a rod. Being born and raised in Miami I have shopped countless of bait and tackle stores and never have I left a shop with such a wonderful experience. It was so pleasant that I returned a second time today to spool up 2 of my reels. I highly advise you visit this shop. Everything they said about this small bait shops was true, not only did he know what type of bait to use for the spot we were going but he set up the rods for us and showed us what set up to use. Me and friends came down to catch peacock bass and Ray and Lou at Captain Jax got us everything we needed to get the job done. They were more than happy to explain to us how to catch them and what the best best bait was.
