Hands down THE BEST experience I’ve ever had at an eye doctor. Exceptional customer service from start to finish. NO HASSLE or pressure to buy like I’ve experienced at other eye doctors (MyEyeDr) and they even gave me a copy of my prescription without me having to ask! The doctor was extremely thorough, friendly & knowledgeable. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a great eye doctor experience!
Staff is good and helpful .But need to learn time management, and respect other’s time . Cant take hours to take one order . Take a day off when you go to Herndon Vision works they need at least 3 hours to complete you order .

I have been coming to this Vision works since 2015 I think. I consistently receive quality service and excellent care. The doctor has helped me find contact lenses which I can finally comfortably wear all-day. Tamanna helped me pick out a flattering pair of glasses and helped me achieve the best possible price between my insurance and store discounts and specials. I started going to this location when I lived and worked in the neighborhood. Now I work 10 mi away and live 20 miles away from their location and still wont go anywhere else. They are worth it!
Today I visited the Herndon store #516 for the first time in my life ever to have an eye exam. Big Big shout out to Tamanna who was kind courteous and provided me with exceptional customer service. Tamanna you ROCK!! And yes I will tell everyone I know to go to this location if they want great great customer service
Came in on a fairly busy day, but the staff was helpful to myself and others waiting, making sure no one sat too long without any contact. I appreciated the effort Tamanna went through to find the best price, whether it was through insurance or the deal they were having that day. And Christian and Dr Suh made sure the diagnostics and eye exam went smoothly and quickly, again despite it being a somewhat busy time
I have been coming to this location since they have opened and continue to visit even though I am further away. Always very friendly and well maintained logistically. Tamanna helped me pick out the perfect pair of glasses and even called out the savings on a second pair with my insurance. The new sunglasses should add some variety :). Great job team as always!
I only went to this location because the Reston location closed (which is too bad because I had a much better customer service experience at that location). The optometrist was extremely helpful and pleasant. However, the other staff here leaves much to be desired. Both times I’ve been they were extremely rude. If you want a staff that exhibits even a modicum of professionalism do not come to this location.
I had excellent service at the Herndon location. Tamanna was incredibly informative and friendly. Its wonderful to see great customer service and a positive attitude. Made a chore easier to deal with.
Update: After the so promised way to resolve the issue, I am still without any glasses, without a valid prescription, without any resolution, no call back, my insurance has been involved and is not getting anywhere and I am wondering what next steps have to be taken? BBB? I dont know - but I would like to see again and not be ripped off.I would not recommend coming to this location. The optometrist was extremely pleasant as well as one person in the front. The rest of the staff for both times I have been there, have been extremely rude. I am in shock! Much more has happened but the rudeness tops it all

I agree with many other recent reviews. The staff, especially at the front desk, made me wait for so long just when I walked into an empty store at Herndon! Somehow she found a more critical task over the phone just then, leaving me in a state of confusion. If that was not enough, she jumps to conclude the glasses are broken without even taking a closer look at them.When I insisted on a technician to speak to, the response got ruder, and she wasnt even looking at me and chose to talk facing the other side. I had to walk out, reminding myself not to enter this shop again.
The optometrist is very kind and pleasant. However, the front desk is very unprofessional. They frequently messed up my order and I had to go back and forth multiple times to get my glasses. Their online alert system is also broken and sends wrong information. Would definitely avoid this location in the future...
These guys are great! Mainly the front staff. They were so helpful. The Dr. was great too. Tamanna and Jasmine were so wonderful to me. Especially because I brought my baby in and it was hard to do some of the things to get fitted for my glasses. So they helped me baby sitting my little girl! Hahaha those ladies went waaaay beyond their job duties to help me. I’ll always come back here!

This Visionworks location is horrible. From the moment I walked in I knew it was a mistake going there. Three girls at the front desk never greeted me or even acknowledged me. I had to ask for assistance. I chose Visionworks becuase they are a VSP preferred in network provider. I picked out my frames but it took almost 90 minutes to place the order. I should have walked out. The people there are totally incompetent. Even picking up my glasses wasnt a good experience. I will never use Visionworks again.
Had a wonderful experience at Visionworks. Went in on a Saturday, and I could tell that they were temporarily short-staffed, and consequently, very busy. Despite that, my appointment was efficient, and the service exceptional. Tamanna expertly guided me through the contact lens purchase process and made sure all my questions were answered. I would recommend Visionworks without hesitation!
Went to Visionworks for a typical prescription update! I went on a Saturday, which looks to be one of their busiest times. Despite the chaos and being short staffed, Tamanna did a great job at helping me purchase my frames. With work looking so stressful, I appreciate her being so sweet and helpful regardless.
Dr Herring is simply the best! I have fairly complicated prescriptions and cataract surgery in my future, she took her time explaining everything to me in a way I could understand. I would go out of my way to see her, fortunately she happened to be in my local office. She also through the years has done more through refractions than the ophthalmologists. I am looking forward to getting my new midrange glasses!

Great customer service experience with a short wait upon entry. Employees were friendly, upbeat and respectful, acknowledging my entry and exit.A female greeter (Nashwa) was helpful by acknowledging my entry into the store. She asked me to sit in the waiting area a few minutes while she checked my insurance and requested I review a couple forms but it was quick and simple.The vision exam was a sanitary and efficient process.The Optometrist Doctor (Scott Barron) seemed pleasant, competent and efficient with his scheduled appointments.I then met with Aaron who helped me decide which glasses were most appealing and appropriate for my eyes and face contour. Aaron was pleasant and patient with me and my questions. Though there were incoming customers, he remained calm and took the time to explain my benefits and costs associate with the glasses. He helped me narrow down my choose of glasses. He assisted with my HSA payment and it all seemed to work out alright.Everyone was pleasant, patient and calm. They also had some interesting music playing to brighten the mood.I look forward to seeing them again on Monday 3/22 when I pick up my glasses.
Great staff! Covid check in protocol was good. Clean office. Dr. Barron was awesome! He explained everything clearly so that I understand my eye health. Tamanna made me feel completely comfortable and helped with the final process ordering my glasses. I highly recommend this location!

Very busy but great location. Malik was a great tech for the tests, I really appreciated not having to redo any. Tamanna was super helpful when I needed help deciding and made sure to go over all my insurance coverage, which I really appreciated. I normally dont have difficulty choosing new frames, but did this time, so am really appreciative of her. Tamanna was really busy helping out walk-ins, other customers, working with callers and still made me feel like I wasnt just another customer, but a person.Dr. Barron was very helpful and when I had some questions on my prior pair from elsewhere and different add-ons for the lenses, he gave me his opinions and even stated if I change my mind, to just bring them back to add anything. I really appreciated having a doctor care about what was best for my eyes and not just $$ like other places Ive been.I would really recommend this location, their technicians were fun and used the equipment needed, the sales associates and doctor were patient and helpful, a decent selection for frames and there is plenty of parking available.(Though I do wish more brands like Burberry, Versace, or Dolce Gabbana, for an accessory on your face for a year, they do have a decent selection. But thats just my nitpicking.)
Dr Barron is the best! He is really nice and courteous! I have been coming here for years and would recommend to anyone looking for an optometrist. The only reason they didnt get 5 stars is the folks that you see afterwards. They always pull a bait and switch on the prices. Ask for complete total before you buy anything.
My wife went to Herndon location to get contact lenses. She had her exam and paid for the annual supply. They told her that lenses will come in the mail. We did received lenses a week later, however it was 6 month supply instead of annual. Once my wife called them they told her that she paid for 6 month not for annual. Receipt clearly states “annual supply” and this is what she was buying to begin with. Lady over the phone told her to comeback and get missing lensesMy wife went to their office again, however, manager was rude and she wanted us to pay extra. She simply didn’t listen and didn’t care about what we paid for and what receipt states. What a joke. My wife is too kind and doesn’t like to deal with rude people, so she left. Absolutely horrible experience, no customer service. I will be handing it from here.Do yourself a favor and avoid this location by all means.

The experience at this location has been extremely frustrating. I been told multiple times I would get a call back regarding my order status. No one has called me back at all! The lack of unprofessionalism is very upsetting. I still have not got a call back. I placed my order about 3 weeks ago. Had I known this was going to be my customer service experience, I would had taken my business else where!
Loved the doctor, hate that I had to wait 10 mins or more just to pay and get a copy of my prescription. Now sure why the woman working the check in desk couldnt check me out, instead I had to wait for one of the assistants to check out. I miss the old South Lakes location. I never had to wait there. Will probably not go back to this location.

If you want to be overlooked and have the staff pretend youre not important this is your place, i brought my elderly grandmother to get her new glasses and sat waiting to check out while the staff gladly helped other customers who walked in quite some time after us, you cant hide an unprofessional staff behind 20 plus minutes of hearing someone will be right with youHow can you drop the ball on such an easy transaction? Walking in with the prescription and all we had to do is pick out frames and checkout, but apparently this place cant even get the most basic customer service concepts down.

Trying to call about my glasses now. Was on hold for 20 minutes before hanging up to try again. My appointment was 12/4, I was told it would be 21 days when I got my glasses. Still no update. The doctor was amazing, the Customer Support and service sucks. Hire people who care about the patients, hell, I need a job currently.
Worse customer service ever, didnt even welcome me, doctor came up to me saying you cant this, you cant this... just because I look young he thinks I have no problems with my eyes and that I cant have the windshield shade with such an strong voice without caring there were people around...can someone teach him about customer service please!!! He needs to lower that voice and stop intimidating people.

The staff was super rude!I just left this location with my husband, he ordered two pairs of glasses, I had some questions to order mine too but the worker was replying to our questions so badly that I will look at another location. We bought a thousand worth of glasses and it would be around the same value for mines. My husband made a few questions her attitude was so bad, she barely looked at her eyes, clearly she didnt want to be there. The only reason we purchased his glasses was because he really needed them. Sad to see a great store with staff like that, for sure my husband and I will not go back. I prefer to drive a few extra miles to get a decent service.
Amazing optometrists and reasonably priced name brand glasses. If you’re looking for new glasses, prescription or not, give Visionworks a try.
Dr. Barron is very efficient and clear with the options for your prescription. Or in my case, prescriptions. I need distance, reading and computer glasses and wanted to try monovision contacts. Getting old stinks, but good vision correction lets you see the way.
Tamana was awesome and made me feel like a priority all the way through, even made me laugh on a couple of occasions. When it was my turn to see the optometrist I was never made to feel as if my concerns weren’t valid and he took the extra time to experiment with different lens strengths long after the main exam was completed. If you want to have a genuinely fantastic experience and not the run of the mill “better one..or two - ok great, we’re all done here” come visit the Herndon Visionworks!
The service was great and the doctor checked my eyes thoroughly but Id avoid buying anything from them.The staff at the front desk was rude and dont acknowledge their mistakes. They didnt send me any notification or call after I had placed an order for glasses more than 2 weeks ago and on calling, they informed me that the number was wrong but we sent it. On checking the number was correct but there was no apology for not notifying but a place on hold for close to 8 mins and a rude tone of voice telling me to please stop wasting our time as we are with other customers. Id avoid buying anything from them in the future.
All, the ladies that helped me from when I arrive to when I checked out were wonderful.Tamanna, was who I finished with and she was very pleasant and I enjoyed the conversation. Keep up the good work in theses trying times.

My experience at Visionworks was less than optimal. The eye exam itself, and the optometrist, were very good. On that, Id provide a 5 star rating. The experience with the office staff, however, was not good. They made considerable errors in processing my paperwork with VSP, causing me to pay much more than required. They then commenced an order for contacts, but did not provide the simple 10% discount referred to on their own advertising in the store - leaving me again with a nearly $100 co-pay. I left without any contacts or glasses due to this poor experience, and acquired the exact same contacts online with $0 co pay, and will acquire glasses this way as well.
The staff and Provider were professional, and got me in/out timely. The maintained my records from years back, which made my recent visit quicker and effective. This is my place for excellent eye care.
Im very impressed with my recent experience/exam at Visionworks. Dr. Barron s examination was comprehensive. He explained each procedure, listened to my concerns and patiently answered my questions. When it was time to choose frames, Tamanna, the tech, patiently assisted me in making the decision (which took me forever). Also, safety was a top priority: temperature was taken upon arrival, hand sanitizer given, everyone wore masked, and chairs at proper distances. Hats off to all Visionworks employees!
They entered my insurance in incorrectly and overcharged me by $138. I have contacted this store on multiple occasions, including corporate headquarters. Corporate headquarters said that the store itself has to refund me. Whenever I call the store I am either put on hold and never responded to or someone says they will process the refund and it has not happened. My appointment was almost 2 months ago. I have filed a dispute with my bank to no avail. I always give businesses a chance to make things right but I am posting this review as an act of desperation that someone will help process the refund I am due because of the associates lack of ability to code the insurance correctly.
Explained everything as a result of the exam. No high pressure in selling me a pair of glasses. Great service and very covid conscious in dealing with the customers.
My wife went in for an eye examination on Nov 10th and on the same day ordered a pair of glasses, She received a message the subsequent week informing her that glasses were ready for pick up, we went to the store and waited for an hour, they informed us that glasses were missing and told us to come back the next day as they were about to close. We went after a couple of days and after checking in we waited for close to an hour, we were informed that they could not find the glasses they told us that they will get in touch with us once the glasses are available, today Dec 1st we are yet to receive any call/message from them, we tried calling the store, they take our details and then keep us waiting on the call, we had disconnect the call after 40 minutes of being on hold. We are not sure what to do next. We have already paid for the glasses and unless we go physically to the store we dont receive any information. Ordinarily this would have been fine, but due to Covid-19 risks we were hoping to get confirmation before we commit our time to travel to the store as we have drop our work and go there. Very frustrating and time consuming experience and after all this my wife is yet to get her glasses.Edit: Following the review and my wife sending an email to the customer service, my wife received a response from the service team in the first week of December. She was informed that the store has misplaced the frame she had selected, they asked to come to the store and select a new frame. She went back to the store and selected a new frame around 11th December ( I have lost track of the exact date). As of writing this update to my earlier review, my wife has not yet received her glasses. Next week it will be over 2 months since she first ordered her glasses.
I have dealt with this location and have seen several doctors here. This is by far my worse experience. I am trusting the GM Shawn to get it right otherwise I will have to find another location. Visited on 2 Dec, saw the optometrist for exam, tried on several glasses, made my choice and completed transaction. Heard from no one. Finally I called and was told we texted you that one pair is here. Well first of all you texted my work#, (a landline). I specifically gave my cell# as primary because of telework so here it is day before Christmas and nothing. Ordered two pair but no one can say where pair #2 is. I stop by and here comes the drama. Sun evening, store is packed, I’m finally assisted. BOOM! Glasses are wrong, wrong prescription is sent in, doctor tells me one thing and puts something different on order, quality control wasn’t done on glasses in lab before sending out and now looks like I’m in a waiting pattern while a new order is placed. Get it together Visionworks Herndon!!! Hoping the General Manager can get this one corrected.
Nice friendly doc and staff. I was able to stay apart from other patients and everyone was wearing masks. They gave me trial contacts to try before deciding to order/purchase. I definitely recommend them.
Our family has been going to this place for couple of years. Last time I wet front desk was aweful. She is rude and unhelpful. She did not know her stuff. I asked to talked to a manager and she said I am the manager.Needless to say, I had to walk out without signing up new glasses.

I spent 2.5 hours at the Herndon location. Their patience, adherence to COVID protocols and service is immaculate. Despite moving to a farther location, Ive been coming to them for the last 6 years. And close to 10 years being with them. Highly recommend Dr. Barron and his staff.

We were overdue for exams, but the Herndon office was well prepared for social distancing. As always, they reviewed our insurance and did their best to get the best price possible for glasses.
I have been a repeat customer at this location, but received unacceptable customer service at my last visit. Repeatedly lied to me on the status of my glasses, when in fact they had been returned over a week ago. Texted to my home #, after I verified my cell# and it is also listed on the orders. One of my frames I provided was chipped upon return and wrong lenses placed in designated frame. I will never return to this location and will not recommend to anyone.
Very pleasant experience. The Doctor in Herndon is really nice. Personel in general are professional and polite.
They were very busy but I was greeted and checked in right away. Not sure about what happened but we were skipped over by two others who arrived after we did for their appointments.However, I was pleased with the response once the error was realized. There were several staff who apologized for the error and made the effort to move things along. The young girl checking in appointments was somewhat short not only with me but with several other clients. She could probably use some more training on how to deal with questions, busy store, etc.Overall I was pleased with the optometrist we saw, with the exam and explanation of findings, and the explanation of what our insurance would and would not cover.
Got an eye exam and new contacts, the experience was smooth, and everyone was very friendly.
I been to this place for like 10 years and this year that place has rude people working there only, specially that man that works at the front desk. We came today to pick up my moms glasses and he didn’t give us a chance for my mom to try the glasses to see it they were ok. He was rushing us like to go. Every time I pick up mu glasses they are very nice and always call me to the front desk to try my glasses but that man is very rude if he doesn’t have patience he shouldn’t be working there like find a job that makes you happy.
Good overall experience. The doctors are very proficient and knowledgeable. The only process improvement is to inform the customer of the expected price at the beginning until waiting at the end not knowing how much you are paying. I also like how they are now delivering contacts to the customers house so you don’t have to be inconvenienced in making time to go back to the store to pick them up.
I had a terrific experience at Vision Works. What made it memorable is the great customer service I received. The representative I spoke with was extremely nice and had great conversation.
What a JOKE - I called AS SOON as they opened on Monday and made 2 appts for Saturday back to back and somehow Wednesday we only have 1 appt and this is somehow MY PROBLEM. Absolute JOKE!! They could not even tell me why they were calling me (I had missed the call) - no one knew what was going on... and telling me they are explaining what happened doesnt actually do jack for me. I had 2 standing appts Monday morning what happened after that... well I dont know and I really dont care. I have had poor service with them before but this one takes the cake!
Doctors and staff were very nice despite it being the end of the day. They were polite and helpful and so sweet to my daughter (gave her stickers). The gentleman who helped with my purchase was very nice to me even after dealing with a previous customer who was less than polite to him. Would definitely recommend!
Took almost 6 months to finally get my contacts fitted right and close out transaction. Had to continuously call for updates even after being told several times that someone would call me back. Had to keep calling back about a credit that was due. Need better training on making sure to follow up with a customer when they are told they will call back.

A friend of mine recommended the VisionWorks Herndon office. I am very impressed by their excellent customer service. The doctor was knowledgeable and honest. I got my glasses on time as promised. I run into an issue with my glasses and they were able to fix it quickly. I would definitely recommend the Herndon office. I used to go with MyEyeDr, who were horrible in all levels, but not anymore. This is around 4 weeks, I have ordered pair of glasses for my daughter.At the time of order I told that Dr. recommended to get the glass at the earliest. But I have never got such a worst service from any Optometry. There is no status update on my order and I have to call every other day for my order status. Really frustrated with their service.I will never recommend anyone to use them.
Not a bad experience. I read the reviews before going in and decided as long as I didnt get this Sam guy wed be good. The lady who assisted me in picking out new sun-glass frames was helpful. She was able to help me pick frames that worked with my face shape. The Dr I saw was also nice, very quick and efficient. There was one lady whos tone of voice when talking to customers was a little off putting. They also seemed less then excited when I didnt get all the add-ons they had suggested. I understand its a business and they want to make money but you should never make a customer feel bad about spending less money then you want them to. Also twice I went in for an appointment and arrived a few minutes early. Both times I ended up waiting 15-30 minutes past my scheduled appointment time. It was really nice scheduling my appointment online.
This is the worst Vision Works store you can go to. The doctor updated my prescription and they shipped the old one. I called them every week for 2 Months someone I always saying we will order them and call me back when the contacts are here.Never got a call back, always the same story.Everyone is saying I don’t know who you spoke to.I speak for myself.I am calling the store not you personally.Never going back there after I get my correct prescription.
Doctor and staffs were really very professional and helping.I visited Visionworks during Covid-19 and everything was well managed there.First they checked my temperature and offers sanitizer, and I noticed they were sanitizing everything after use.Happy from their services and I really appreciate their efforts during this pandemic.Covid has increased their work of santizing and all but still everyone was polite and humble there.We will visit you again😀
Weve seen Dr. Barron at this location for years. One year ago at my routine check-up, he caught what turned out to be the early stage of a serious head & eye condition. He referred me to the next step. Im extremely thankful for his thorough work and calm demeanor. Staff is also GREAT! Dr. Barron also sees my 9yr old son who describes him as nice and smart.

The service is great here. The staff are very friendly. We had the young man (can’t remember his name) help us. He was very kind and helpful! The reason I give it 4 stars is because the deals aren’t really a deal. They are still expensive for single family homes that don’t have much $. Other then that it’s a great place with really good employees!
Great service and good folks. Love my eye doctor (Dr. Barron) who Ive been seeing for years. The staff are all professional and polite, and always willing to work with me. Whether it be figuring out the best way to use my insurance or my FSA funds, they are knowledgeable and accommodating. I would definitely recommend them, and I will most certainly return.

I went to this place twice, once in December 2014 and again July 2015. Both times, the doctors were different, first time a lady doctor, and the next time, the gentleman. They both were very patient, and knowledgeable and did their best to explain and make me comfortable. The staff outside were very courteous, did not push to buy anything and were extremely helpful. My daughter is very comfortable with her glasses and vision tests.

Awful, just awful. Ordered my contacts three months ago and they still havent arrived. Totally disorganized store and the eye doctor has terrible bedside manner.
I had Dr Beck for my lens prescription appointment and he was great. He answered all my questions patiently. And never made me feel rushed.But the real reason my wife and I had such a great experience, was our sale’s associate during the Frames selection process. His name was Nadeem. You want to go on the weekends to catch him, as he is a part-timer here. But he has been doing this for a few years and is masterful at his job. We felt like we had probably the best in-store experience or sales-experience we have had in a long while, maybe one of the best ever. I’m talking about in all sectors of our lives. Not just frames shopping. This was my wife’s 25th time getting glasses as an adult, and my first time ever in my 44 years alive. We were both very pleased with how well he did his job. Zero pressure, extremely well informed, great conversationalist, attentive, intelligent, that’s enough, I’m gonna stop there before I sound anymore “enamored” than I already do! LOLDoc Beck was definitely good too. Just didn’t get as much time with the doctor and in the end he had an important role, but much less face time than the sales associate, Nadeem did. As for the young lady that greeted us and got us into our initial eye appointments, she was just ok, unfortunately. We were informed that she was the newest edition and was getting better every day.So, long story short, go on the weekends and insist that Nadeem is your Frame Sales associate. And feel good if you get Dr Beck for your prescription.Thanks again Dr. Beck & Nadeem! 🙏🏼My wife still needs to find the time to have her frames adjusted around the ear, hopefully that process will be just as pleasant. 🤞🏼🤞🏼We will obviously attempt to go back on the weekend in hopes of catching Nadeem!
Im shocked by the low ratings. Ive been going to VisionWorks since they opened. Dr. Barron is awesome. Explains everything. The staff have been nothing less than professional. Very helpful and attentive.
