I really like this store for many reasons it reminds me of Arab stores and you can find all the Arab groceries there that you normally won’t find it at other halal groceries. They also have a bakery and restaurant in the back and the food is great! I bought kanefe slice today (around $5.50) wasn’t my favorite a little too sweet for my taste but they also have baklava and basbousa + all the other goodies like European chocolates/treats. If you are in the area definitely check them out
I bought cheese and Kaymar, and when I got home, I found they were too old, expired, and had a terrible smell. Also, the hot food is not fresh and has a horrible smell. I never go there again.
I can always find authentic spices here that I cant find at my regular grocery store. The staff is very helpful and informative if you are looking for something specific.
It has been the best place to get groceries and meat for over 20yrs. They also have a small restaurant without seating by the butcher which makes very delicious ethnic food. They takes order for catering as well with reasonable price. I always get some snack food from them because it is so delicious. Thank you Madina Market for your good service to the community.
I bought kibbeh supplies and am pleased with the quality and price. The cashiers who helped me with my purchase were extremely nice and helpful too.
Real rip off, don’t go there. The prices are ridiculously high. There are better places that sale fresh meat and veggies with better prices.
Went to get some Tahini but also got a bunch of other stuff including fresh Pita bread, Zaatar, Roohafzha. The staff was super helpful, I was assisted by a girl named Edon. Will definitely visit again.
Please do not buy meat here. i got goat meat on a thursday and two people in my family ate and we got sick ...there was no crowd at meat counter and there is lot of uncut meat outside freezer. A doctor confirmed it could be food poisining or salmonella. I wanted to try a new place and its very unfortunate i picked up the wrong place.
This would be my last visit to their grocery store with a great disappointment with my latest purchase on the meat. The seller is selling very old meat. I picked up frozen lamb shanks and was assured they get fresh frozen every week. After the defrost, the shanks turned dark and after they were cooked they tasted horrible and have to throw away after spending several hours of preparation.I called up the supervisor/ owner and wanted to explain how the meat was and instead he appears customer blackmails when told about leaving reviews on Google. Per the seller asking for clarification is a black mail and won’t acknowledge the the food they are selling are below par.Very unprofessional and doesn’t want to acknowledge and blames customers as blackmailers.
Madina Market has the best customer service I have ever experienced. Their store has variety of things and more. Everything is fresh and very well maintained. The owners are so helpful and the most respectful people I have ever met.We always get the most amazing customer service every time we go there. .Highly recommend. :)Thank you Madina Market.
Its always great to come to this place prices are higher than other places but it is a great place to shop.
Expensive and not good helping their
This is your typical Afghan store, they have everything that average afganian and iranian are looking for. Just keep in mind you should not be looking for neatest and cleanest in this place.
I am extremely disappointed in the meat department hygiene and cleanliness procedure. When we went to get an order, i saw the meat fall on the floor, and yet he still wanted to pack it and give it to me !When I refused, he was very rude and said why cant you just take !!!Now if I order delivery, how would I trust that its not meat that was dropped or mishandled?I was hoping during covid, and the offer for delivery ; quality wouldnt be compromised.
Excellent halal meat and food I been shopping there more than 20 years,
It is very good midel Eaetrn grocery store and price was good and I will ecomendit to every body
Please do not buy any dry fruits from this market. I bought dry fruits twice and when I wanted to eat, I looked inside full of worms. all the dry fruits of this market are old, dirty and full of dusts. please please look before you buy it. FDA should check the quality of this market and make sure everything is healthy.
The best deli in Herton serve the best food for half the price then any deli you know try . you will love it
Butcher shop is very slow.
Posting a review on behalf of my SO. He loves this place. They have snacks from his homeland and good samosas. I cant recall her name, but the woman who is usually working up front is very nice.
The price has raised significantly. I will never return to this store
Very nice freshly made whole-wheat naan. 5 in bag. Go to the meal order window and look for a big bag of them. Its worth stopping in.
I honestly don’t know what’s with all of the negative reviews. Me and my family have been coming here for as long as I can remember, and it has been nothing short of amazing.
Worst, the old man in butcher shop is extremely rude. So, I asked for a bag, as the blood from meat was leaking and he literally argued on not giving the bag. The manger should take notice and teach this old man, how to talk to customers. Really bad experience. Not going back ever.
Incredible diversity of product, they had everything we needed and the staff is wonderful and sweet. A staple!
Great selection of Middle Eastern foods and spices I havent been able to find elsewhere, although definitely check the dates on whatever youre buying since I suspect some of the stock doesnt rotate as frequently as the larger supermarkets.
I love this corner from the middle east!! 💘
I used to go here a lot but in the past 2 times I got some staff for home and most of their staff were expired. I recommend everyone to check the expires date before buying something.
I used to buy most of my stuff especially the meat from Madina Market. Recently not only me but also my friends noticed that all the prices has gone up comparing to other Afgan market. I will not go to this place anymore. So expensive.
I really enjoy shopping here. The selection is unique, the experience is great.
One of the good middle eastern store. Almost you can fine any thing you want, nice meat area. But the best part is their foot. Great sandwich. It’s delicious and tasty and also to big.
SCARY DURING COVID-19! I have seen the staff and the owner himself do not enforce social distancing, especially at checkout where you are often just a few feet apart from others. Even worse, today there was a customer walking around the store with his mask off, congested and coughing repeatedly. None of the workers said anything, even when he walked right up to the cashier and only then covered his mouth with his mask but not his nose. Terrible!
Convenient place to find all the things I need. The food is great. Try the fresh chicken legs and egg rolls. The people have always been very friendly. Will continue going here.
This Place is very Unclear about the product they have and I dont trust everything they Sell specially their meat And a lot items Date expired So I just advise people to be careful when they shop at that market
Best thing
A lot of expired items. Not very happy with the selection
I order this year my Qurbani for the goat with them this year and they told me about the age and type of meat they I’ll be getting for the Qurbani. But when l got the meat. The first thing it was not the complete animal like two legs chops, neck stuff was missing and most probably given meat from his freezer and secondly the meat was dark in color which means the animal was over aged. Be careful of them.
I really like this market
Very high prices if compering with other Arabic stores. Give yourself a favor and dont visit this place.
Myself and my friends and family members were regular visitors of Fair Price Halal Market on Grants Street. We have decided NEVER to go there anymore because of raised prices, deterioration in meat products and RUDE ATTITUDE OF THE OWNER although the employees are well mannered. But the owner has no customer service manners. Acts as if he is God Almighty. So, let him rot in his own stew.Hope you and your employees especially in the meat section are courteous. Because there, the customers have to rely on their service rather than pick up items themselves. Nobody likes to give business and not be respected for it. Small businesses flourish if it is remembered that customers buy the product and the owner makes money because of it. So there is NO option but to be polite to customers. It does not cost anything and the owner/employees look good. We have abandoned Fair Price because of their rudeness and high prices for mediocre stuff. Dont disappoint us. Giving you 5 stars for the time being. Good luck.
Good Mediterranean Middle Eastern Grocery with Fair Prices and Good Quality produce.
The best halal market I have ever seen in northern Virginia. Fresh halal meats.
Very bad service, very bad staff, thief, Very expensive,
The place is nice but the items and all of the meats are expensive compare to other stores. This is not your usual clean and organized American Grocery Store. Also, extremely slow service. They also have a small eatery in the back which serves good falafel/gyros. But every time I went, it took atleast 20 minutes to get the food (no lines or other customers). So I stopped going there.
This is the worse place to buy fresh meat as they pack nice pieces at front to show customer but inside they fix all the bones around 80% so be aware of buying meat in this shop. Never recommend any one 👎👎👎
I have warned the store owner lady and the guy many times that they have expired items on their shelves, especially cheese and milk based products.I just bought another block of cheese $23 and its expired. I found out after eating. I tried not to leave a bad feed back for past 2 years but they deserved it this time.
Market is good to buy halal food and other items, but most horrible thing is if you call to order something they dont understand english.so better not to call and order.
Great products and healthy organic food from all around the world, love shopping around the store feels like travelling around places.
I like coming here to buy their middle eastern food. Great selection at madina market.
Not good the quality of vegitables were horrible store had mosquitoes inside not at all maintained ... will never recommend anyone
I agree with all the other reviewers that buying meat here is not only an awful experience but simply a waste of money. The butcher with the pakol hat seemed to be offended at us asking if he spoke Farsi or Pashto before we continued in English. We did that out of respect, thinking he was from Afghanistan. We asked if we could have lamb ribs and chops and he packed them, throwing the meat around like he just didnt care. We bought a lot thinking the price wasnt too bad. When we got home I cooked the ribs for almost 2 hours and they still were hard. Thats when we realized they did not sell me lamb but some old sheep. Unfortunately, because it was inedible we threw all the meat away and ended up having to eat out at a restaurant. Such a rip off and ruined our trip to Virginia.
Best halal meat shop in northern Virginia area...
I wish I know her Name she is short Ugly with big Noise Rude cashier almost Tore my 10$ bill When she snapped it out of my hand, she never said hi nor thanks to customer! I dont wish to see that young rude lady Next time. Please teach and remind these employees that There are in US, approprite manners and professional attitude we need to Exhibit to people while doing customers service. Thanks!
Check the expiration date for everything you buy, you will find a lot of items already expired, a part of that, variety of products is good, price is fine, not the best though
Naan shop in the back is the best value in town -- $4 for 4 large naan made fresh (white or whole wheat). They also make amazing gyro sandwiches (amongst other items) that are also a great value (bigger sandwich for same price as restaurant next door).Note: Call ahead if possible, as it takes 15-20 minutes to make the bread/sandwich fresh.Ample groceries selection as well.
Poor service
So good
A great place to buy dates, hummus, rice, laffa, coffee . Many fresh fruits and bananas . The cafe is tasty food from Pakistan, Iran, Saudi, India, Somalia, etc.
One of the best middle eastern markets in the area, try the hot bread which is very hard to find in other stores
Halal meat is available here, many complained about the messy part of the store...well, they renovated d place n now its getting pretty much in order. One less star cause of the expired thing on the shelf.
Always go there great customer service, clean place, good people working there, especially the Buchar Azhar bhaya very friendly good person, always got what I want, thank u guys
Not organised but has good selection of goods.
In the past two weeks that i have started going there i have yet get a hello and thank you from the cashiers. I bet i will get a hello and Thank you next time fingers crossed.
Great place to buy meat!
Customer service is very bad. Especially, the meat department is extremely rude
I am amazed that Median Market is still open. They are nasty and disorganized just shity DIRTY place to go shopping. I want to know why the Healthy inspirations has not slap them with a huge fines yet.
Great middle eastern and asian grocery store.
This place is great for buying spices for Asian cuisine. I searched and visited this places because of the halal meet available here.
Great place . With little high prices
Rude cashier, she was wearing Indian or Pakistani traditional dress, she just snapped out my credit card out of my hand. I will never go there again, there are plenty of halal stores in the area.
Called to ask if they sold a specific product and was hung up on. No connectivity issues, just hung up on. When I called back to ask why I was hung up on, she ignored the question and put me on hold. The next person I spoke to was also extremely rude. Even though they sell the product I was looking for, I wont be buying from them.
Needs more clean up. Also the butcher needs to wear masks if he cant stop coughing on the meat.
Terrible. it s 20 mins i m waiting for meat. service is terrible. always same mess and pure service
Chicken and meat are good.
Good to buy Pakistani stuff.
Been there a couple of times for some necessary canned product. Both test I realized that cans after I got home were expired
Extremely good quality Goat meat..Bit pricey
Nice place to shopping halal
Good one for fresh meet.
Great place to shop
Good Indian grocery store.
Excellent shish kabob spears!
Masha Allah, this place is halal and offers an array of Islamic products.
Halal grocery at reasonable price
Great place for shopping
Not clean, no price tags on many items
Every thing is the best
One more bad experience, I always buy samosa from this place when ever I go over there but now new rule you cant buy 1 or 2 samosa you need to buy atleast packet of 4 . This is retail business not wholesale market like Costco so they should understand .
Never visiting this store any more
Fresh and good meat
Best middle eastern bread on the planet
A little Expensive in my opinion.
Rude and zero customer service, and not clean!
Very good store
Great Halal Store
Indian grocery and meat shop. Rate are less compared to other shop.
Low quality, high price
Nice place
Wide choice in all products
