I own a 2004 2500 Dodge Ram Heavy Duty truck with over 200k in miles, that has been experiencing rear in differential grinding of the gears for some time. I have had the differential fluid changed several times but to no avail the grinding noise persisted. I thought it was the transfer case so I changed that out with a new rebuilt at a total cost of 2K. when all done. I changed out transmission fluid and filter yearly but still grinding. I finally concluded that I needed a rear differential rebuild, which would have costed me upwards $2500.00. I called, Randy answered and advised to bring in so that he could properly assess. By his expertise it wasnt in need of a rebuild, but instead some additive that costs me $192.00. Everything that I read positive was my experience and more with Herndon Reston Transmission shop. They saved me big time $, and for that I will always take my truck there for service. I suggest you do as well. You can trust them to be honest and friendly. (AND NO this is not someone that works at the shop or apart of the company). I am a true and actual customer.

Found this location via google maps and decided to go based on the positive reviews. After going to two transmission shops, including the Ford dealership, they could not or misdiagnosed the issue with the sounds coming from my transmission in my truck . I explained the issue and Randy stated in straight forward fashion that the issue may be something else but gave me a quote (reasonable) for what i thought the issue was. After diagnosing and informing me of the issue, the truck was repaired. What I thought was an expense that was gong to be close to $2000, Randy fixed the issue at a cost of a little over $200. He advised me to bring the truck back if there was an issue. I may have found a new mechanic for our other car. Nelson P.

Prices are reasonable for NOVA and they are very honest mechanics which is something hard to find. I took my car to the big dealership and they said my issue could not be fixed! I was prepared to trade it in and took it here for a second opinion. They had it fixed before the next day and back on the road. Communication was great with prompt quotes via email for approval. They also provide a free basic check, something the big dealers want $120 for. I found my new local shop.

Randy and his team have taken care of our family for years. Theyre trustworthy, dependable, and always fair with the pricing. They even squeeze us in with last minute notice. Could not speak more highly of an auto-shop and person!

Had my transmission serviced on my 1972 Plymouth Fury. Good to know someone stills knows how to work on older cars. They fixed the pan fluid leak as well as some others. Price was very reasonable and it was done quickly. All around good experience here.

Slower then some of the bigger garages and dealerships, but this is offset by the honest vehicle evaluations and reasonable pricing. Few years ago they saved me big bucks by trying a technique to switch out the transmission fluid in my 2006 Honda Pilot. It worked! Gone was the slight hesitation I detected when the automatic trans switched gears at a certain speed. Thanx Randy!

These guys were recommended by a friend. I had a good experience when I had trouble with my clutch. The first time, they helped me get a rental car; the second time they gave me a ride back and forth to the Metro. Prices seem reasonable; they seem like an honest company. I will use them again.

Price much better then other transmission shops plus excellent service. nothing extra added and what was fixed was fixed well. i had no problems and my truck actually feels like a new truck with the transmission and break repair. the shift kit made a difference and i have noticeably more power probably because the old was slipping imperceptibly and this one is not.

These guys were really good to me. I came in with transmission problems and they diagnosed the problem and told me exactly what was needed. They are honest, fair, and good people to work with. I highly recommend them.

My 2005 Honda Civic Hybrid had shutter clutch problems. I looked into the warranty and found I missed a free replacement by 3 months. Then I got an estimate from one co. for $3,000-4,000 to replace. I could not afford this so ignored the problem until impossible to do so any longer. I went into HerndonReston Transmission on the chance I might find some way to fix it I could afford. There I met Randy, explained the problem. He took a real interest in it and said he would do an other all diagnostic test first. He found my car to be in good shape and rebuilt the transmission for about half what a new one would have cost. No more shutter clutch. I am sold on the personal service and good work Herndon Reston Transmission does.

Did a repair for me months ago that required the gas tank to be reflled. While the repair went ok I was a little put off that they charged me over 3.50 a gallon for regular gas. There is a gas station next door so it wasnt like they had to go a long way. That bit og gouging makes me wonder where else I may have been overcharged. Called back to enquire and they used obscene language. Would not recommend especially since there are other places close by that are more professional.

If I pay a premium price compare to other places I would expect good Servise not rude and angry stuff. Servise is everything! Not a bad job, very high price, horrible Servise.

I call them to know how long my car will take to be checked because i am going to towing it because it didnt start, they said we will do it today but it took two days only to Diagnosis it they know it is now a front of there shop and I cant move it also its start without doing any thing and they charged me 170$ I felt they are Not honestI will never go to them again.
