After coming from terrible experience at academy sports. I was hoping for education and guidance on new firearm. DO NOT EVER mention you saw same gun at academy!!! They will immediately hate u and say why would I help you if you saw him there. Are you price shopping cause of course they are cheaper by $50 plus. Which I get I’m in sales, so what value do you bring? I mentioned I was a novice and probably asked to most dumb questions but just trying to learn. It was explained to me u have to know ammo and then began to rattle over 30 different ammo making buying situation even more confusing. I am always willing and wanting to help smaller businesses but not this one awful customer service and experience! This is more of a PRO shop, if your new to guns don’t go there. PS first negative review I ever remember writing.

The customer service was absolutely horrible!! I was stereo typed from the moment I walked through the door and was talked to like a child. A guy who claimed to be the owner (didn’t catch his name) was rude, condescending, and treated me less than a paying customer. If this guy really was the owner and that’s the way he chooses to run his business and talk to his customers that’s on him, but as for me I won’t spend another dollar in that place. PS I’ve been a long time customer of their shop but the way I was treated today was deal breaker for me. I’ll never be back!!

I Recent purchased a gun at Guns and Leather and I felt like the sales guy could have handled the situation a little better. I’m a new gun owner so I had a lot of questions and he was a little arrogant about something’s like wanting a safety on the gun, and also had moments of talking down to me. In retrospect, I should have asked for a different sales person. The sales people just need to be reminded what good customer service looks like. They have a good reputation, so I’ll probably be back, but I just won’t be talking with that particular guy.

My wife and I have been coming here for going on a year now to learn how to shoot properly. We come from Smyrna because we love the place. Friendly staff and a good downstairs range. I just took the permit class and learned a lot of important information from it. Mike, the instructor, was very knowledgeable and added just a bit of humor to the class to keep it from getting dull. Horrible attitude and customer service! I stopped going here years ago due to the fact that I always felt like I was inconveniencing the staff when I was looking to purchase ammo or use the range. Felt like they could care less that I was a customer. So at that point I began just purchasing ammo online and went to another range that was local. For Christmas one year I had a family member give me a $50 gift card as a gift, because they remembered I used to shoot there. Since I never visited their store anymore, I figured I would save it until there was an accessory I wanted to needed, as buying the ammo was cheaper online. So fast forward about three years, I had stumbled across this gift certificate I had forgotten about, and looked and saw that it actually had no expiration date, and I decided to go see what they had. Keep in mind I understood that this was an old gift card and may not be good even without an expiration date printed on the form.So I walk in explain and spoke with some younger skinner guy behind the counter, explained the situation and he just laughed. Said that it wasn’t valid and he would not honor it. I inquired as to why since there was no expiration date, and he informed me that they had already paid more taxes on that fifty dollars over the years than what it was worth. Now I’m not a huge math guy but how much can taxes be on $50. Even over 3 years. 1 thats not my problem, you issued a store credit that doesn’t expire and even if we deducted the taxes, there should still be some sort of balance available.

We had a great experience here. We were not fully sold on the pistol we had originally research and picked and we told the salesman (I think his name was Josh? He had just moved from CA) as much. He was extremely personable and informative. He gave us multiple pistols to try according to what we were looking for and gave us information and pros and cons to each one. We finally settled on one and were checked out appropriately, with all the background checks conducted. He also helped us with advice on ammo. Another salesman on another day gave us a good recommendation on cleaning products without overselling to us.We also took a class here and went on the range multiple times. It’s a basic range but very well kept. This was our go-to store before we moved and I still miss the great customer service.

I came to this shop to purchase a new weapon and shoot on the range. There were spotty thunderstorms this afternoon and I was on my motorcycle. When I pulled in to the parking lot, there was only 1 vehicle parked in the lot. I parked my bike under their awning out front (to keep out of the rain) on the very end, about 20+ feet from the front entrance. When I walked in, a gentleman was quick to tell me that I can go ahead and park that bike in the normal spaces.. I told him I only did it because of the rain... He didnt seem to care about that. He told me my bike cant be in the way of all the people walking on the sidewalk. There were no people. And there was also AMPLE space to walk without the motorcycle being a problem. He lost a sale. Ill never go back. And Ill be sure my group doesnt either.

My wife and I went through the concealed carry class. My wife isnt very experienced and was very nervous. James was our instructor. He helped make her feel comfortable and made the experience very enjoying. I dreaded the class myself being Im decently experienced and figured everything would be very boring. He engaged the class with stories and it wasnt dull in anyway. He kept in a good time frame and when others stories got long winded he gently wrapped them up for the sake of everyone else. Once we got on the range he made sure everyone was being safe, even the ones stating how great they were he gently dealt with their pride and made sure everyone was on the same page with how we all handled our guns with the mixture of rookies and advanced in the class. He gave tips that made my wife and I very successful on what we were trying to achieved. We both passed the class with flying colors and look forward to making our lives a safer place with our pew pews.

But when you treat people as if they are below you that goes a little further than just customer service. This guy is not nice he is mean. My review got deleted so beware you will only see good reviews. There are plenty of gun shops in Nashville. Go somewhere you will be treated with kindness when you are unsure of how to purchase and or use a gun. Not to someone who treats u less than them. Hopefully google will not delete this review as people need to know the truth about where they spend their hard earned money. Especially those who travel far distances because he has only amazing reviews online. In real life the honest reviews get deleted. Then people travel far to see the shops and purchase and new gun which is exciting in itself. Then just to be shut down because someone acts like you have inconvenienced them. Even with one customer in the store.so people before u travel all the way to guns and leather just know you will not be aloud to ask any questions because you will be interrupted, corrected (even if he Is wrong) treated like you are stupid and if u disagree with any information he gives you, he will call sumner county cops on you..

The staff was INCREDIBLY knowledgeable and accommodating to our needs and questions. Shoutout to the salesman and Amanda. They were patient with us while we looked at different options and made our choices. The background check was easy and straightforward as well. We are both new to shooting (aside from paintball guns and .22 rifles) and they mentioned that they offered an entry level ONE on ONE training course for new shooters. The pricing was very competitive and honestly it’s the BEST money I think I’ve EVER spent. My girlfriend and I were lucky enough be instructed by Daniel and he was FANTASTIC. This guy is so knowledgeable and easy going. It’s hard to find people who don’t judge no matter what your experience is. He truly has a natural talent for teaching. He is exactly what you need when learning how to handle and operate something as intimidating as a firearm for the first time. The course lasted about an hour and half but my girlfriend and I felt so at ease, that we ended up spending the rest of the day at the range practicing and shot about 200 rounds together. The store and range is super clean and is a great place to spend the afternoon. We will definitely be back! This place will be our GO TO option for whatever we need. When it was time to qualify with our pistol, it was nice to use certain stances and techniques that I learned in the classroom. Everything went smoothly and I shot well.

Generally, I have good experiences shopping in G & L, but last Saturday - May 5th, I had the same experience as several others who have written reviews. I felt invisible. My wife and I wanted to use the range - about 3:00 pm on Saturday. The store was busy when we first walked in, but not slammed. I stood about 2 feet from one of the showcases for a good 10 minutes. During that time no one spoke to me - no one even made eye contact. One young man with longer hair was waiting on a customer just a couple of feet from me, but when that customer left, the young man turned away and walked to the other side of the store and began a conversation with another employee. Finally, I went up to a guy organizing some merchandise on the wall and asked if he could help me.To the owners - please teach your employees basic retail skills - make eye contact, smile, speak. If everyone on the floor is busy, train everyone to say, “Someone will be right with you.” Or something similar. It means a lot to customers and won’t cost you anything. This is a good store, but it does not seem that the employees care.BT

Our skills are evolving, and our accuracy and confidence have made huge steps, thanks to in large part the staff and their expertise. The Hendersonville store is relaxed and geared to the citizen who wants real advice and counseling. We have purchased over a dozen firearms from them, and their service was spot-on. I have never been mislead, and appreciate their honesty and patience. Mark and Daryl and many others have pointed me in the right direction each time I arrived with another question, and I just enjoy the friendly atmosphere. Amanda has been extremely helpful in planning our education. Now the store is under new ownership and management. Completely disappointed will never go to this store again. Would say stay away completely however the Greenbrier location has always been a positive experience. Avoid the Hendersonville location at all cost pick another retailer, anything positive you have ever heard must be about the Greenbrier location.Sister was enrolled in the carry class and her equipment did not arrive in time from another company so we went to the Hendersonville location, where her class was the next morning to get something similar to what she had ordered. Instead of something similar to what she ordered the sales person pushed her to another brand and model, which is fine there is nothing wrong with that brand, just twice as much as what she wanted to spend. The point he said over and over when compared to any of the others is that this specific model was the least likely to jam. Not once or twice the message was this one costs so much more because it is the least likely to jam. Went with the one suggested then when we started down to the range to show her the super basics before the class in the morning they charged us an entrance fee. That is ridiculous she just spent a lot or money on something that she did not know how to use and they would not let me go down without paying an entrance fee.Next day in the class the very, very, very first thing the instructor’s assistant said, who was the sales guy from the day before, when she was at the range was that she should not use the ammo she purchased the equipment will jam. That’s right after saying over and over get this one it will not jam his first words that day were it will jam.To make things worse she did not pass the target portion of the class. If she did not pass from not understanding that is one thing but she did not pass because there was no coaching what so ever from the “instructors” during that portion of the class. Every puncture on the target was on the left side, except for one in the top right for some reason. Besides that one everyone was to the left. Before she told me she did not pass she shared her target my first question was were you closing one eye. Her reply was yes. Know there are debates over using one or both eyes however if it is that clear that every impact is on the left side the instructor should either have her adjust holding position or try both eyes.Last straw and what pushed me to write this review was that instead of coaching the instructor lets her continue using the same method that clearly is not working. Then at the end of the class suggest she take private lessons from him to fix her style. This is unbelievable he let her fail so he could sell her private lessons. So to reiterate do not go the Hendersonville location but with their poor customer service sure it will be closing soon. Hopefully they do not make the mistake of letting those at the Hendersonville location move to Greenbrier and bring down that store.

And the attachment selection just put simply is night and day. By the way you might want to educate your employees on firearms if your going to call this a pro shop. Very uneducated gun environment. Clearly just a money maker. Take your business to mom and pop or academy.P.S. there is hardly nothing at guns and leather that you cant order at academy for a lower price. I have been a very loyal customer of Guns and Leather for a few years. I have purchased 5 weapons, and countless ammo, from them in the last 5 years. I won a pistol last year in a Black Friday raffle, at the Hendersonville store. I have always pushed friends to shop at either location, and I never had a problem paying a few extra dollars to help out a family run business. In the last couple of years however, especially after the Hendersonville store opened, I have found their prices to be more than a little high on ammo and firearms. Worse than the price though, for me, is the very bad customer service provided and BOTH locations now. I will only purchase from them if the price they offer is below any other store. I will travel well past their Greenbrier store for a better,or even a matching, price.

This place is awful the selection is fair at best and the staff were extremely rude and unknowledgeable. One of the employees tried to tell me there is no such thing as a 16 gauge shotgun until I pointed out that they had one and ammo for it. Do not go here !!!! Go to the greenbrier location if you want selection and advice.

Well i wont say my experience was bad nor super great. it started when i decided to buy my xdm. i drove about 40 min from Clarksville to the location in Greenbriar to find out it had burnt down but i didnt let that stop me i decide to drive the extra 30 to this location because i had come to far to turn back. So once i arrived cash in hand, i walked in the store had maybe 10-15 customers browsing like normal i walked the aisles looking for my predetermined choice of pistol once i found it, it took about 5mins for someone to help. i didnt receive any bad attitudes just the average Joe passing through looks. only until i specifically asked to cuz my choice firearm new did i get any real enthusiasm the paperwork was quick

Overpriced, horrible customer service. Will stand and stand and stand to wait for 1 of the 15 workers there while they walk past and never ask if you need any help. Will never go back .
