Great little coffee shop. Several customers enjoying their drinks or food and doing on line stuff. Will go back. As you can see I am enjoying a pumpkin spice latte. Delicious!

We always check out local coffee places and went to the Black Press becauseof their great reviews. The first thing we noticed was how good it smells in there, because they roast their own coffee ☕☕😁The facility is very clean, the staff is very friendly and wearing a mask 😷 which we appreciate during times like this, and our order was done within minutes.We ordered a Cuban to go which was so good!Highly recommended.

I took my daughter and a couple friends for coffee. This place had a cool vibe and the man working was super helpful with our questions. He offered great suggestions! We all enjoyed our coffees and the cookies and doughnuts we received.

Black Press has ruined getting iced coffee from anywhere else. Its consistently made the right way, they add a few seasonal options every few months to try if you want something new, and if youre there often enough, they learn your order for you! They also make fantastic pup-cups according to my pup.

Good coffee! Lots of options if you want some foo foo coffee. The Black Press roasted their own beans and I found the coffee smooth and no burnt flavor. I had the Mexica which is the coffee they had on drip today. They also offer sweet eats from Five Daughters Bakery. I did not partake of the eats but will next visit. I would highly recommend The Black Press for a quick stop coffee or a sit and sip.

I tried ordering beans and was shortly cancelled without any follow up of a reason why. I hear their shop has had great customer service. It’s a shame I see the complete opposite when ordering online.

Great coffee, fun atmosphere and the barista was very well versed in the different coffees, espresso and pour overs. My bf and I had a blast playing connect 4, wish that it was a bigger store but theres not much they can do to control that! Would highly recommend and I would love to go back!

Such a cozy and friendly shop. It’s very chill, not crowded at all. My barista was very pleasant with everyone prior to me. They remember their regulars and their coffee is STROOONGGG! Best coffee in town. Shout out to Movement Church for their recommendation to this place. A blessing indeed.

I went almost every day for about a month and can’t recommend enough. Big wins for me: all employees are properly wearing face masks, they use Oatly oatmilk, coffee/espresso is high quality, all their staff is really kind. My one suggestion for Black Press would be to create a parklet out front in the parking lot (equivalent to about 1 or 2 parking spaces). Having nice outdoor seating would be icing on the cake!

What a wonderful coffee shop. It was so nice to be able to walk in and have a special drink made just to my liking. This was the BEST coffee I have had in Tennessee. The ambiance is so relaxing and you could easily spend hours here.

Really love this little coffee shop in Hendersonville. Its small & quiet and they have an amazing selection of locally roasted coffee. My daughters love to come because they also carry Five Daughters Donuts! Highly recommend!

Great roaster. They bring out the unique qualities of each single origin, and they also create delicious blends. Im addicted to their Ethiopian Yrgacheffe. Pastries are nice. Atmosphere has been updated this year (2020) to make it spacious and modern without losing too much hominess. Lots of parking, great food options in the attached strip mall, knowledgeable baristas.

Amazing coffee! They roast their own coffee beans on-site as well! My fave drink is the Hazelnut cold brew and love the Costa Rica beans. But be sure to ask for less ice otherwise it will be gone after a few sips. Also love the fresh baked goods especially the chocolate espresso and birthday cake cookies. Best place in town for coffee for sure!

This little coffee house is at the very end of a row of shops. And honestly doesnt look the most promising from the parking lots condition. But sometimes those are the places that surprise you the most! The coffee was fantastic and the barista super knowledgeable. I cant wait to go back!

I have never been a coffee fiend, however I am one now! This place is absolutely amazing! My friend and I were looking for a place to study and have some coffee when she suggested this place. I live 3 minutes away and didnt realize how much I was missing. Strongly suggested for any college student!

I love this place!! It is like your neighbourly coffee shop but has a hip vibe and fancy coffee drinks. People working here are like East Nashville hip but very friendly. I sat there and worked for a couple of hours, their interaction with customers made me smile!

What a great coffee shop! Their coffee tastes great, but more importantly you can tell that they know what theyre doing. They have a vast knowledge of coffee in order to give you exactly what you want. They are tucked away off of Walton Ferry road, but it is totally worth it. Coffee by the cup, whole bean, or freshly ground, you just cant beat it.

When an owner cares about their product, it shows! Great coffee (had a nicely-crafted pour-over) and a very friendly conversation with the owner. He obviously appreciates the benefits of offering a great product, and they roast the beans in the back of the shop. Well worth the visit!

This is our every Saturday coffee place. We usually come here before going to the dog park. People are always friendly and coffee is always good! They just added Oat milk which is a nice plus. Happy to have specialty coffee in Hendersonville.

One of the only coffee shops in the Nashville area that actually imports, roasts, and serves their own coffee. The owners are extremely passionate about their coffee, and the quality is evident. Whether youre looking for some beans to take home or just stopping in for a hot or cold drink, I cant recommend Black Press enough. Hendersonville is lucky to have such a great place!

Delicious matcha tea latte. Also the staff is super friendly. It is a very small place but the staff always makes you feel welcomed and helpful when it comes to ordering.

The only warning I would give is that this is a roaster. Nothing wrong with that, but its something I would want to know. The owner is incredibly friendly, and the coffee that tasted was tasty. If youre looking for a quiet place to grab some locally roasted beans, this is where you should go!

I missed out by not coming here sooner. If you need really good, FRESH roasted coffee anywhere in this area this is the place to come. The trendy expensive coffee shops in Nashville rarely have any coffees that were roasted even that week, but Portside had several. Definitely where Ill be coming from now on.

My husband and I highly recommend Portside Java. Its great to have a local roaster in Hendersonville. Scott, the owner, is great! Very friendly and knowledgeable, always offering a cup of coffee when we visit. We recently moved away and have tried other roasters near Nashville, but I prefer Portside Java, and being part of his Coffee club allows us to get more coffee at a great price. I will continue to make the drive up there to get our coffee fix!

I found out about this place from a mailer advertisement, thus I was not sure what to expect when I would arrive. Portside Java is in a bit of a run down strip of businesses that ultimately adds to the off the beaten track feel of the business. On entry, it was readily apparent there was not a lot of space for customers, though the combined decorations, lighting, and inventory displays made for an exceptionally relaxing and open environment. At first I was disappointed to find out single cups of coffee were not sold; however, Clay was happy to pour a sample for the two of us as we talked about the business and his working knowledge of the roasting process and the effects of the coffees flavor and texture. I tried the Mexico Huatusco roast. It was flavorful with a tinge of acidity. After allowing it to cool, the flavors developed into something just as delightful to taste with a smoother finish.

One of the coolest coffee shops in the area with the options youd expect at competitive prices.
