Unethical sales practice of one representative.At 8:30pm on a Wednesday night we had an SUV pull up seconds after we arrived home.The driver stayed in the car for an uncomfortable few moments “Who’s that, we wondered?”Out of the vehicle came a young, attractive young lady who quickly dropped the name of my realtor stating that he was “supposed to tell you that I am your Rep and would be coming by.”Ethical problems:1. Pulling up at 8:30pm and approaching my family in the dark2. Lying about my realtor telling her to come by. Sales people buy lists of née move-ins from the MLS. Name-dropping was her way of borrowing credibility.3. Stating that ADT has “an arrangement with my realtor’s office as the security service of choice.”Train hour Reps, ADT! Their dishonest sales practices are directly reflecting on you!

I am not sure why this company has 5 stars. I have had the system only a few days. When I called originally I spoke with a representative and advised him I wanted to make sure that I had cameras in my home for the front and back. A supervisor was the one to assist me and stated I would receive two cameras one for the front and one for the back. I advised the supervisor I did not want the system unless I had cameras. He advised me he would even give me the two cameras free if I chose the company. The tech came out on a Sat. at 8:00 a.m. The tech proceeded to install the system that I thought I was getting. He had to install two keypads because he put a hole in my wall by not being able to use the main keypad. I asked him could he please make sure I had a touch screen keypad for the damage he caused to my wall. I had to pay an additional $40 for something that fit in my hand. When he finished installing the keypads he began to go over the system with me. The items he covered was nothing I agreed to over the phone. He instead stated I had a basic system and no cameras added to my system. I am furious because I did not agree to a basic system. He advised me I would have to pay an additional $300 that day to have my cameras installed. The tech had already put two holes in my wall with the keypads installed and it was already 1:00 p.m. which took up most of my day to enjoy with my family. I then looked at my account so I was charged the install fee $99 the very next day I was charged for April bill $66 plus the additional $40. DO NOT SIGN UP for ADT because the representatives will say anything to get the sale. They will not replay the call back as I have asked several times when I first contacted them. I do not and will not recommend this company to anyone. You will have to pay for extra items that should already come along with the system. The representatives over the phone is very rude and will send your call directly to ADT. Remember ADT will send you to an Authorized Dealer. Defenders is not the authorized dealer you want to be in contact with.

The installation was professional and the technician was very courtesy and patient, sales reps were very helpful and friendly as well as answering all questions completely. Really feel a lot more safe and protected.

IT WAS A PLEASANT EXPERIENCE. THE TECHNICIAN WAS VERY KNOWLEDGEMENT AND SHARED SOME INFORMATION WITH US SO THAT WE COULD MAKE SOME EDUCATED DECISIONS. HE WAS A PLEASURE TO HAVE IN OUR HOME. EVERYTHING WENT VERY SMOOTHLY.

It is really sad that companies no longer care about customers...I even reached out to the owner and CEO of this company and shocked that they could care less too. Here is my issue. We got our alarm system and about a month or so later in the middle of the night it went off. My husband and I jumped out of bed panicked as most people do. The phone rang and it was ADT monitoring service. The lady on the phone could clearly hear the alarm going off and proceeds to argue with my husband that she cant tell where it is going off at. I grab my phone, pull up the app and tell her that it is the garage door. She continues to ARGUE with my husband! My husband and myself are in pure panic mode and this woman keeps arguing with us. My husband hangs up the phone on her, gets dressed, and proceeds to take matters into his own hands. He goes out our front door and the police are coming up the driveway we live on a hill so my husband couldnt see them. My husband could of been shot because this ADT employee argued with him never once saying she sent the police. I have been going back and forth with ADT and Defenders. Defenders say to call ADT and ADT says to call Defenders. They could care less about the customer and I am SHOCKED that even the owner wouldnt help out with this matter. ADT even told me that if my husband got shot that still isnt good enough reason to get out of a contract...To say I am disgusted would be an understatement.

The installation was easy and quick, the installer was very professional and courteous and explained things in an easy to understand manner.He went out of his way to explain things multiple times if needed, i was completely happy with the installation.

The tech that installed the system was very knowledgeable about the system and was able to answer any questions we had. We were nervous about pushing a wrong button and setting off the alarm but the tech was very patient with us.
