Great price, I was able to find a complete LOTR box set, as well as some Stephan King books I had been looking for. I think in total I paid $30 dollars, which is very good considering the condition the books were in. All in all, a wonderful store with wonderful staff. I will be visiting again.

I did not understand why my son, JohnPaul, insisted on Joy of Books..., until I got here. Quaint, welcoming, gr8 reception, gr8 communication with guests, comfortable, and I found a gr8 little book on mindfulness at a gr8 price.

A classic downtown bookstore of years passed, but dont pass by! Seriously--go in and check out the great selection of fairly-priced books, gifts, and music. Im a classically-trained musician and I really enjoyed perusing the shelves of old CDs which (many of which arent available anymore).Also, who doesnt adore a small business which lets you play with the dog?

Small but quality selection. Lots of locally relevant books of past and present. I picked up three excellent David Mitchell books that I didnt have. Never imagined finding these three all in good shape and in one place!

Check her books super carefully before buying - almost every one I’ve purchased from her has markings in it even if she passes it off as perfect. I check carefully and still years later I’ll open a book and be reading though and come upon random pen markings and flip to the back “Joy of Books” every time. There are better options in the area if you’re interested in better quality and selection.

Very quaint. Lovely little shop. I only was able to make a short visit but they had a very eclectic selection. Great shop design and layout it fits in very well with the other little shops of downtown Flat Rock.

G reattach handmade craftsmanship. The owner is David Porcelains. He was so nice to hand make a duplicate of this lamp for us. What a great guy and a great craftsman.

I absolutely LOVE this bookstore. If you havent been there, your missing out. I find so many must have when I go there. My kids find as many as I do and we leave with a huge box of books but I didnt need to take out a personal loan. Check them out!

A wonderful little bookstore with lots of personality.

So me and my son went 2 this book store today the 1st time we have ever been in there and it will definitely be my last i was looking at books had one picked out that was 10 dollars and was looking at more my son was showing me book by one of my favorite authors and the lady that was there that i guess is the owner got onto him about touching the book and was very rude about it i talked 2 her about and then she got rude with me i told her that how are you going 2 look at a book if you cant touch it ahe told it was because of the cov19 i told her that if she is that worried about it then she should not be open then i told her we will not be back she didnt even say sorry for the way she talked to my son belive me i will not be back i will take my business somewhere else and truly the books are priced to high there and there is cheaper places to get used book and those places are alot nicer and more professional

Great prices lots of books helpful staff. They do have a bathroom if needed. There is a kids section. A bit hard to find keep going its the last building on the left you will get there. They do buy books too

It is a great place. I found my favorite book there. And the manager is such an amazing person.

Absolutely loved this little shop! Don’t let the small size fool you, it is jam packed with an expansive collection of genres! The owner was very friendly and helpful and made our experience there even better!! We will be back next time we are in the area!!

Wonder used book store, amazingly large selection of current best sellers. As well as a nice selection of classics. She also has a great selection of greeting cards and souvenirs.

This place is such a gem! We were so happy to have come across it when visiting a year ago and just returned for our second visit yesterday. The selection is small but incredibly well curated. I have a lot of respect for the owner because there is truly a book for everyone here. All the books are in next to new condition and priced as well as ordering used offline. Cant wait to return again on our next trip up!Also- a big thank you to the woman who rang us up for packing us up in her fabric ingles bag! I know we just about bought all the books so we really appreciated it!

So.. today was my first visit to Joy of Books.. I was very satisfied with the service I received from the moment I walked in the door.. honestly Ive just started back reading an Ive been buying my books from Walmart untill now.. her slection on James Patterson.. was Great!! Not only did she have some new releases but alot of the older ones that Ive been looking for.. The books was also in Very..good condition to be used!! The prices was very affordable !! So I would recommend anyone to check the place out. I definitely have found my new spot to buy an browse for books.. the location is great also!!
