Everything went quite well. People were courteous and offered a fair price for my car.The only thing that made the day nearly impossible was the fact that there are no longer shuttles available to take your customers back to their car.
It was easy to go online and make my appointment for a test drive. It seems like CarMax tries to make the experience as easy as possible both with convenience and no pressure sales once at the store. Once I was there and met my salesperson, it was pretty easy to get on the road in my test drive. I was kind of surprised that they didnt go with me, it may have been because it was later in the evening, and the store was getting ready to shut down for the night. As convenient as it was to take the car out myself for a test drive, I almost would have preferred to have a salesperson with me to answer any questions about the vehicle during the test drive. Once we were all done, I let the salesperson know that I was just starting to search, and need more time to make any decisions. They had no issue with that, and politely ask that I reach back out to them if I had any questions.
Overall a very quick, and easy experience!! I bought a new car, as well as sold my previous car. I will definitely come back to CarMax again when Im ready for the next car.
The car buying experience was good overall. However, the car was missing a key so they put in a work order to get a new one. Ive tried to return their call twice about the key and have been unsuccessful. I keep getting sent to voicemail with no call returned.
I checked my cars value on Edmonds blue book. An offer appeared from CarMaxI scheduled an appointment and took my car for an appraisal. I was given an offer which matched the online offer. Shirl Sigee completed my paperwork and Steve from service took the car. They were both very professional and welcoming the entire process took a little over a hour. WOW the check is in the bank. I dont know the name of the person that did the appraisal but he was also very professional.

When my wife and I first arrived to look at potential vehicles, it did not seem as if anyone was really interested in helping us out. We were basically directed to the parking lot and told to look around. Granted, we arrived within the last hour prior to the stores closing, but still... Fortunately, while in the lot, we ran into Elijah. Once we connected with him, he was very helpful and responsive through the process and we ended up with a great deal.
After being disappointed at 2 other dealerships, I went to CarMax on a whim. Not only did they give me a better offer on my Tahoe, but I was able to find the car I was looking for at the price I wanted. Third time really is the charm. So grateful.
Carmax hooked it up and what a smooth buying experience. Most of the process was completed online and over the phone. No sitting in a dealership for hours on end. We absolutely loved our sales rep. Andy he was ver very helpful and patient. The only down side is the actual car. We got a 2017 Ford explorer and with in 2 days check engine light came on and a burt oil smell comes and goes along with that the truck tugs and has troubles making changes and since we were in our 30 days we took it in to get checked and fixed a few days after getting it fixed by carmax the same issues started over again so its back at the carmax shop until the 16th or so . Meaning that not even 30 days after purchase we have had very few days with the truck we fell in love with and more days with the loaner cars. And I know we have the option to exchange but there isnt anything out there that suits us like the one we chose, so fingers crossed this time they can fix it for the last time!
These guys have it down to a science. Whether youre buying or selling the process is quick and effective. The buy and sales floor get filled up quickly but everyone has enough room to still feel comfortable. They offer the highest quote on used vehicles as well. Will definitely be my go to dealership.
My online quote to sell my car was accurate. It took about 90 minutes from start to finish. I walked out with my car sold, payoff on the way to my loan company and a check in hand for the difference. Could not have been easier, and it was 5k more than selling to Carvana.

Bad experience with CarMax. I had submitted a request to hold a vehicle that was arriving to the lot. As soon as I got notification the car was available, I submitted my request right away to hold the car. One of the clerks called to confirm the hold request and she had stated I was the first one to submit the request to hold the car. I had asked the clerk what happens if some calls regarding the vehicle and want to purchase it? I was told we will honor your request because you submitted the request first to hold the vehicle. I thought, okay, cool thats good.WRONG! That honor went out the door.Within 10 minutes I get an email saying my request to the vehicle was no longer available. Seriously?! I called CarMax and spoke to Kevin, and asked him whats going on, I was assured that I was the first person to make the request to hold the vehicle and now I get an email saying the car is no longer available? Thats not right! Kevin stated he wasnt sure what was going on and he would contact the Henderson Store. He did but there was no explanation.After all of this, it was a bad experience. My first time buying a vehicle and this happened.If you have a car in mind and you want to purchase, make sure you have the cash in hand.. I personally think this is what happened, someone else called regarding the same vehicle and they told CarMax I have cash! and CarMax jump on that real quick!At the end I bought a vehicle through Vroom which was a better experience and easy process.

Everything went smooth until with the service department. i am very disillusioned. I had bumper stickers on my bumper and pointed out to the associate. She started to pull them off, but only succeeded in tearing in with part of it dangling. She said the service department can get them off (they should of been pulled off in the first place). They declined it.I have only had car 3 weeks, but noticed the vanity mirror on my visor is broken. The lid falls off and the light doesnt come on. I have called two days in a row and my call goes to voice mail saying they will call me back. its been three days, nobody has called.This worries me as I purchased a pricey 5 year warranty.Otherwise everything went great but I bought this car for the warranty and service and certainly thought i wouldnt have bumper stickers left on the car. Its sad because the car looks brand new except for these 4 bumper stickers and the broken visor.I feel like Im being ignored.
I went there a couple days ago to test drive a Honda Civic. Signing up for the test drive was easy and, when I showed up, I was paired with an extremely helpful sales associate, Kelly. She walked around the lot with me and showed me other cars I wanted to look at as well. She was wonderful. Instead of trying to urge me into buying a car that day, she let me move at my own pace and would answer any questions I might have.Even though I didnt end up buying a car that day (or in general. I didnt buy a car from some other place), she was an amazing sales associate and I came very close to purchasing through her. I cant stress enough how helpful she was, especially since it was my first time ever going car shopping.
Great experience for the most part minus issues out of their control. I did the online appraisal and was offered $6,000. I thought it was odd because I had mechanical issues. Come to find out they missed the mechanical issue in the appraisal . They still kept their offer at $6,000. I was NOT expecting that. Jorge was our saleman and he is awesome. The only thing that took forever was trying to get a copy of the title but that was no fault of their own. It was a great experience.

Ive had it for about a year and a half and Ive brought it to the service department 3 times, only one time something big had to be done, but they always take really good care of my car and everyone that works there is very helpful and kind.
I purchased a car at Carmax the car was wonderful my agents were all so wonderful and got me the best deal at a low interest rate. Services for maintenance always done fast and correct. Once I need the car to be there for a couple of days I also got free loaners which was great! You cant beat that. So get your car at CarMax you wont be left on the side of the road with the price sticker still on it.
Wow... Great experience and very helpful. I purchased an F150 and was told I had 30 Days to keep or trade or return. A week later I seen another F150 that I really loved with alot less miles so I called my rep and she was very helpful. I got it shipped and within 4-5 days I had it and drove and kept it. Very Happy!!!

The offer was better than fair, I thought. But you guys were unbelievable busy and training new employees, that was fine, understand things are not normal yet. They gave me a check that wasnt endorsed as they had to do them by hand. The problem is the back office said they would stay in touch and let me know how they were going to fix it. You guys left me with no vehicle and no money and is going to cost med money to fix your problem and aggravation and management is aware and has not gotten back with me as they are going to make up for this inconvenience, which is putting it lightly, and aggravation. You mess with money and bank account, my bills, my credit report and possible bounced check to mention having to get rides across town and back to your store, so I was more than peeved when I got back to your store, seeing how the back or business office dropped the ball.
Joey, Mark, and Chad were wonderful in helping me get my truck appraised and sold, and they made a better offer than United Nissan. No complaints so far. Everyone was friendly and helpful. And while I waited, the lounge was comfortable and the wifi was fast too. Give these gentlemen a raise. Good work CarMax team.

CarMax is more and more transactional, less and less about total experience. When competitors like Carvana can offer the same or higher bids to buy used cars - and they dont have to worry about the three-story literal overhead of a CarMax dealership building - CarMax will have to come up with new, innovative ways to keep people using them. Many more choices in the transparent car selling/buying experience than when CarMax first started. They still beat going to almost any dealer, though.
I sold my car to Carmax. It was a very simple process. Deanna was the associate who helped me with all of the paperwork after the inspection of the vehicle was completed. She helped us through every step of the process, explained everything to us, and we got a check on the spot. 10/10 would recommend and would sell another car to Carmax in the future!

Still on the fence. I buy a car, the engine blows, they have had it for 2 weeks to fix it. Funny, it will run over the 30 day return limit. So I am trusting them to do right. Fix the car with a new engine and give me warranty extensions for the 3 or maybe 4 weeks I was without the car. I will let you know how it goes.

The sales transaction was excellent at the Henderson location good customer service there but the Sahara location service center Joshua has the worst customer service skills ever, I have never met anyone at the front line not being helpful but argues and denied all previous transactions instead of helping to figure out things but instead he make me feel like im lying and that I have memory loss accusing me of never been to that location before and it was a different location and it wasn’t him that took my transaction the first time I came in, even thou if all transaction were never recorded or lost he can reopen another claim, but No he just simply denied everything with a very bad attitude!! I had to request for a Manager ( Michael) to step in who was very professional and open a new claim for me with no issues,If only Josh would do the same Michael did instead of the unprofessional customer service he presents ( he should not be in customer service with that attitude)
The worst experience when it came to the communication between them and the finance company. I was borderline harassed as if I owed them money because them and the finance company couldnt get it together. The salesman had a funky tude until he saw I was approved from several banks them he was interested in helping me. I love me car though!

I was anticipating being given a low offer for my car, and that they would keep me there longer than I needed to be, but it wasnt like that at all. I got a great offer, and I was in and out in less than an hour. Would definitely consider selling my vehicle to them again.
I don’t even know where to start. I co-signed for my 19 year old son yesterday. He couldn’t test drive because he didn’t have full coverage insurance. We went through the financing. I spent a lot of time on a 3 way call as i am out of state. Everything approved, we just needed to send verification documentation. Great, sent it. Get a call that my bank statement is outdated. It cuts off on the last day of the month so my last one was 2/28. Fine.... sent a credit card statement. My son goes to pick up his car and they notice they spelled our last name wrong and had to run the credit again. Great. No problem. Get a call from my son that they won’t approve it because he hasn’t been on his job for 6 months. I’m the freaking co-signer. I’ve been on mine forever with good credit and good income. I forgot to mention. We payed $1380 for a down payment with Allstate for his insurance so he could pick up his car. This place is a Circus. From beginning to end it was a bad choice. Lee is ridiculous and the “manager” who wouldn’t take my call even more of a disaster.I know it’s not always like this as my daughter purchased her first car there and we didn’t experience this. That was at the Sahara location though so that may be the difference! 🤦🏼♀️
Omg!!! Abbey was the best representative to work with. I had a terrible experience at the Sahara location, and from the moment she greeted me in the lobby she was nothing but professional. She made what was already a stressful situation so much smoother, she made buying my 2018 Jaguar F pace so exciting!!! I really appreciate the patience she had with me making sure I had all my documents and everything. She never one time made me feel like I was being scammed! It was the easiest car buying experience of my life. I found my very hard to find and very specific car 2018 Honda civic, white, with tan interior it had 12,000 miles on it. I had never purchased a car online, But I had finally found the car I wanted. I applied online and got an approval in 15 min. A few hours later my online agent called me she put a hold on my car, prepped it for shipping and we did all my paperwork on line. Love CarMax!!
They have the nixest service up until the point you buy a car. Once the docs have been signed all customer care goes out the window. From their service center to their business office. CarMax claims its something better but its not.
I bought my car back in January and I noticed the exhaust tip was slightly off and asked our sales man Gorge will I have future issues with this and he reassured me that it was fixed and I wont have no issues with it. Now it has been 6 months and due to the weather in Nevada the bandaid they put on it is now failing and i brought in my car after having to wait 3 weeks to get in and they are saying they cant do nothing about it and it will cost me $1,200. Stephan in service didnt even want to replace my windshield that had a crack in it when we first purchased it and he was the same person to say they cant do nothing!!! DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!!!
From car quote, person who reviewed vehicle to people at business office smooth as can be. I also checked CarMax offer vs a few dealers who all came in lower by $1500 or more. I then showed them carmax offer and they said they cannot match that. There is a huge shortage of new and used cars due to microchip shortages. It is a real problem. Seems carmax is willing to pay more now for cars than dealers. No BS, a great process. Highly recommend.
BELOW One Star. I have bought from CarMax before. This location is a LEMON seller. They sell crape cars and REFUSE to fix them when you buy an extended warranty. It’s been a 2 year constant in their shop for the same freaking thing. Plus they never have the parts so they keep the “lemon” car for WEEKs at a time. Very very unprofessional car care at this location. Jerk offs……………..a month in the shop is totally unacceptable…….TOTALLY.

Trying to get a hold of anyone in the service department is a hassle and a chore. they’ve made me wait two weeks to schedule an appointment then it’s taken them 2+ days to to fix it and there’s still no solution. whenever you call the phone it just rings and rings and if you are lucky enough to talk to someone they of course don’t know what’s happening with your car or if they can even fix it under warranty. like if you’ve had two weeks to prepare for my appointment why is there THIS many issues. would rate them a zero if i could. never experienced a place with worse costumer service in my life.

Shirl, who is a great young lady that helped us out. Was quick with the paperwork and very thorough about explaining the process. Definitely will be using them again!

They have a guarantee return policy if you dont love it or somethings wrong you can bring it back within 7 days (which my husband has used in the past and swapped out for a different car). The actual purchase of my vehicle was amazing experience for me dealing with Melissa. I had a issue with my vehicle 4 days after purchase so I had to take it to get serviced. The issue couldn’t be resolved by car max so my vehicle was taken to Mercedes service shop to be repaired. Initially I was just told “Your car is at Mercedes getting the repair done” no date of return, nothing. Finally I was connected with Shelly who has been amazing keeping me updated. However 3 weeks later I still don’t have my vehicle. Hopefully my issue is resolved and I can get my car back soon. I’m not angry I’m just a little let down because I bought from Carmax because they boast about their 121 point inspection of vehicles.Update .. So the vehicle I purchased is defective. In attempts to right a wrong the sales manager purchased the first car I bought back from me because it was clearly defective. So I picked out another car, had it shipped with the shipping waived(Thanks). Now while I have one loan(The first car)open they run my credit, a 17% rate? The car I bout says it needs a oil change.. “Oh no ig just needs to be reset” is what the service center says. So In all I will say there are certain associates at this location that go to great lengths and follow through with everything and then there are the ones that let you know through action that they don’t care.

Bought 2 cars from this location. First my daughters bought during pandemic, all was great everything done online, car delivered all was great that was September. I just bought mine in April of this year and the process was good. My complaint is about the people answering the phone. Unfortunately my wife did not get her name or I would have definitely put it here,, but my wife called about what we thought was a simple matter. This woman spoke down to my wife and treated her with such a dismissive attitude that my 5 star review is taken to a 2 fbecause of this one employee. If I was able to bring the car back and just get my money back and go somewhere else I would, again due to the actions of the one employee. Service manager Steven was Great! That is why a 2 otherwise would have been 1 star.Update........I did email and got follow up within 24 hours of email.
