Ive always loved Costeaux. Its one of the last vestiges of old Healdsburg. Its a great place for breakfast! With indoor and outdoor seating....its a wonderful weekend brunch spot, complete with mimosas. I also appreciate that well behaved dogs are welcome on their patio. They are usually treated to a bowl of cold water and a dog cookie. My dog and I have had Many relaxing meals together there.πΎ The food is always good at Costeaux. My favorites have always been either the eggs benedict or the Turkey-cranberry sandwich. Their baked goods are also quite good....nice breads, scrumptious cookies and lovely classic cakes. Try the chocolate krinkle cookies! Until recently, they had wonderful staff that had been there for many, MANY years, but it seems like most have now left.If you want a nice ( good quality ), casual breakfast or lunch.....check them out!! But be aware, they do close early - 2pm ( I think )
Had sit down lunch at famous bakery. Food was pretty good. We also purchased some backed goods for later that were very tasty. Has a number of outdoor tables.
Bustling cafe and bakery. Cheese Danish a delight! Classic French ham and cheese baguette perfect for pre-wine tasting snack.
On the northern edge of the town center. Lovely, big space, but a little too crowded for my preference and a little too warm. The foods was delicious (croissant sandwich, eggs Benedict and the Turkey sandwich), but the coffee is per cup. They have beautiful looking baked goods in the bakery section.
Had breakfast which was delicious and very good coffee. Waitstaff nice and attentive.
Awesome. We werent really hungry enough for the menu, but they accommodated us with crossiants and a fruit bowl. OJ was fresh.
Amazing quality french bakery. Got take out for breakfast and everything was great. croissant that melts in your mouth, tasty ham and cheese. And very good coffee. A keeper.
Love visiting Costeauxs. EVERYTHING they make is fabulous. I love that you can even buy a slice of cake, instead of a whole cake. Got a slice of the princess cake recently and it was amazing. I tried the savory croissant with ham, cheese and onion, and it was pretty tasty too. You cant go wrong. Wonderful breads, cakes, cookies. Their non-dessert items are great too.
A nice find and excellent bakery. Noticed they won a Guinness record making largest pumpkin pie. Worth a visit π
Waited a long time to order 2 coffees to go and there was only one couple ordering in front of me. I dont mind waiting, but I think someone needs to say Ill be right with you or communicate something that tells me that they see me since there isnt a proper line to stand in. Someone came by with a sample and it was a bunch of chocolate paste in a cup. I wondered how they expected me to eat it. When I asked for a spoon they couldnt find one...Updated to 4 stars because management reached out and is going to look into it.
Had a Birthday lunch here with my daughter, son and grandbaby - a pleasant experience overall. The server was friendly and helpful, willing to answer our questions about the menu and even consult with other staff regarding the mimosas which she had not tried herself. Even though they dont have a childrens menu, she told us about items better suited to my 2 year old granddaughter which worked out perfectly. And, after checking with my daughter first, gave the grandbaby a cookie - her discretion was appreciated. Of course the treats after lunch were delicious - my favorite is their Florentines - if you havent tried them, I highly reccomend you do so. Looking forward to the winter months when they will once again have their triple layer chocolate mousse cake available.
My review below is an old one.Came back as it is close to my house and yet still styrofoam cups. They are using ceramic plates therefore using water so the drought excuse is out. On top of that research shows that styrofoam cups are extremely difficult to recycle therefore hurting the environment for the ones who always use this topic as an excuse.Looks like another boycott.Still using the covid excuse to not serve goods in real plates and cups! When most of the plaza restaurants do. Boycott it is. Plus they advertise it as a French bakery and the pastries are far from French quality.Non merci.
Popular long time local bakery (est. 1923) and cafe. Everything is delicious. Bakes their own breads and desserts served at the cafe. Popular dishes serve are the French Onion Soup, Mussels & Pommes Frites, Smoke Duck Breast Sandwich.Friendly staff, #KidFriendly (high chairs) #DogFriendly (outdoor dining area and will provide dog water bowl).
Breakfast was tasty and the pastries are really good.
Very nice croissant. good coffee
Great food! Fast service. Sidewalk seating.
Delightful and delicious! We enjoyed a wonderful breakfast at the Costeaux French Barkery during our recent trip to Wine Country. I had the French Toast and my husband had eggs and hashbrown potatoes. Really, you cant got wrong wth anything on their menu. The restaurant is quite large and inviting on the inside, with a lovely bakery counter where you can purchase breads and treats to take with you. We sat out on their patio, and it was the perfect weather for a delicious breakfast! Prices are just right, meal sizes are just right, and everything was great. Definitely worth a visit if youre a local or an out-of-towner. Bon Apetit!
THE SOUR DOUGH FRENCH BREAD IS DELICIOUS...CANT WAIT TO TRY OTHER BAKERY ITEMS / ESPECIALLY THAT CINNAMON BREAD / THEIR CAKES...BREAKFAST OR LUNCH MENU LOOKS VERY APPETIZING...TRIVIA: THE BLOODY MARY LOOKS INTRIGUING...
Delicious breakfast and cappuccinos! The bakery and the Sour French bread toast is permanently on our favourites list, excited to return soon β€οΈ
The long waiting times on Sundays for brunch are annoying but the food and location are worth the wait:)
My review is mixed. The croissant was the greatest Ive ever had, so buttery and flaky. But, in covid-19 times, we have to consider safety in restaurant reviews: the restaurant happily allowed in and served maskless patrons.
Charming venue with fabulous food.
Great place for morning food. Were a little short handed when we were there, created a bit of a wait.
Excellent service. Excellent food
Besides having good pastries differing from their competition that being downtown bakery the customer service is outstanding and the ambiance is great.
Very dry omelet and hardly any cheese over cooked and brown. Not worth the price.
Yum. YUM. YuM!Oh the treats, and sandwiches, and Baked Goods and Breakfasts! If you are craving an out of the ordinary Bakery Sweet, Costeaux genuinely accomplishes the feat! And right now, the Million-Man Nutcracker Parde is on display. That alone is worth a visit. 12/2020.
One of the local bakery that you should visit. the chocolate chips cookies are soft and yummy. We loved the duck sandwich but unfortunately they dont carry it anymore.
Had frightening experience with disgusting employee of theirs, older man with long white hair was extremely rude and belittling to my family and I while asking a simple question
I used to love this place,it was my favorite place to go to. I recently went during COVID and the experience was different. The food was still good but not excellent. I feel like prices went up a lot,and I understand the situation we are going through but it should of stay with the same quality and quantity. went with my 4 yr old who all of a sudden had to use the restroom....they are closed to customers π I had to go to CVS. Not a good thing when taking your kids. Im not sure if I will be going back anytime soon.
Best bakery in the North Bay. Nothing there will disappoint.
The best place in Sonoma county to fresh baked pastries in oven fresh bread good for breakfast and lunch too!
Delicious pastries and coffee with an Italian vibe. Cool place.
I am not easy to rate 5 stars, but we got the chocolate truffle cake. It was DELICIOUS! Not to rich not extra sweet, perfect moisture. simply wonderful!! Thank you!! our friend and we enjoyed the cake.
Wonderful cafe and bakery. Amazing Nutcracker collection for the holidays.
Cute and cozy, french bistro feel. Good natural lighting. Bakery available for purchasing bread, cookies, biscottis and much more. Dinning area had a wait, but menu variety made it worth it. We ordered the Peach Mimosa and Hibiscus Bellini. Both were well balanced and refreshing. For our entrees the French dip and Smoked duck sandwich, both served with pomme frites (French fries π) French dip was juicy and delicious, with the softest ciabatta bread. The duck was flavorful and the multigrain added texture. Both were very good and wed order again. Definitely coming back if ever 8n the area.
AGood:The breakfast food was phenomenal. The coffee was also fantastic. Service was very good as well. The quality of the baked goods was pristine.Bad:It is a French bakery... that doesnt bake brioche unless you special-order it... that was not good in my book.
Amazing items!! Croissants and coffee! Highly recommend and we will be back!
Friendly service and good food
Everything was marvelous. The French toast was served with a fresh cranberry apple compote. The latte was rich and earthy. The eggs were cooked just right.
Super tasty breakfast sandwiches, friendly staff and a wide variety of pastries. While the baked goods were certainly delicious, theyre priced well above what they should be - theyre not THAT good. The prices are certainly higher to fit the MUCH higher tax bracket of the local population and average visitor, but some similar spots we visited in the equally as exclusive Carmel by the Sea had slightly better baked goods and breakfast sandwiches for about half the price. However, while it is more expensive, I was still looking forward to stopping here every day we were in the area, and if Im ever back in the area Ill be stopping in again for sure. Worth the stop!
It gets pretty busy on Sundays so it was a bit of a wait, but it was absolutely worth it! Loved the Eggs Benedict. The Host Madison is an absolute Angel. She has great communication skills and kept a smile on her face despite how busy it got in the restaurant. Very kind and a very hard worker.
Good food. Very pleasant experience
A nice twist on a classic Eggs Benedict. Bacon and black forest ham, along with some fresh baby spinach and avocado made it a delicious dish. Its a busy spot, so get in line early via Yelp.
Sublime!
Some of the best croissants Ive ever had. Cappuccinos are strong.
Delicious. Very pleasant staff and environment. Wonderful bakery. If you want the wine country experience it is the perfect spot. If youre looking for the best price per bottle, well you should explore a little more first.Tasty mimosas β€
We checked on line for best breakfast in Healdsburg, then went to have a nice breakfast.Service is so sloooooow . Took forever to place order and forever to get food. Food was good/ not great. Took far far to long to get service, even when it was time to leave we had to ask to get the check. If you have all day to sit around try this place. This was not a busy day, many empty tables.
Overpriced eggs benedict for brunch served with a single-use plastic fork and knife. The βpomme fritesβ were very basic french fries. Food was alright, but portion was too small for a $20 breakfast. I expected more.
Wonderful atmosphere for either outdoor dining or inside. I loved all the nutcrackers. Really great food selection. Wonderful, friendly staff. I had lunch with my oldest daughter, my grandson & his charming wife & we were all pleased. This is one of my daughters favorite places to eat.
Simply amazing! The counter service people are super cordial. The variety of bread and treats are tremendous. Fun for all!
The manager this morning Was rude and arrogant. She yelled at me when I asked if she had a breakfast sandwich. She said No! Then I needed to use the bathroom and told me it is not a public restroom. What? Itβs at the airport!!!! She said they are not part of the airport. Ok fine. She finally gave me the code to get in but honestly this you g woman needs training on how to deal with customers in a kind and friendly manner. She is absolutely awful. I will not go there again!!!
Great spot for lunch. Salad, soup, sandwiches and pastries of all types. Loved the little patio out front. Service was good.
I had one of the best eclairs in my life for breakfast. That in a mocha and outdoor heater what a great way to start your day
Excellent light fare food & excellent service. The only negative is that they serve sodas out of a can so when u want a refill u have to buy a 2nd can (which I dislike having to do) Otherwise--I love our local bakery/eatery/gathering place!
Always excellent food with amazing pastries and desserts. Definitely would recommend coming early on the weekend. Staff is very friendly and courteous.
Quality and unique products are very noteworthy. Croissants, muffins, and full breakfast menu are all terrific. Fresh juices and beautiful coffee. It is a very special experience.
Amazing bread and pastries!
Must try the quiche and cinnamon walnut bread. Excellent options for catering and custom cakes.
Wide variety. Good breakfast. I would say that the bread and pastries are just ok... Not great. Even in town, there is better to be had...
Loved the wine and pastries.
Very good food. I had quiche, my husband had French toast. Only downside was it took long time for the food to arrive. But it was worth the wait.
Wonderful sandwiches and cookies.
A private room is the best way to enjoy the food here. Otherwise, the din is unbearable due to the acoustics of the room. Wait staff are busy, but efficient. Menu a bit over priced, but its a huge tourist area. Some excellent selections on the menu.
Excellent food and great service! Amazing wedding cakes also! This place is a must try if you are in the area and worth the trip if you arent.
We went here with a wine tour and got to have some of their sourdough. It was surpassing excellent. We tried to go back the next day but they close early on Sunday.
Always stop in when were in the area. Excellent pastries (try the Bearclaw or Chocolate Croissant), espresso and breakfast. Today we enjoyed home made Corned Beef Hash made with corned beef, potatoes, onion and green/red/yellow peppers. Fantastic! Came with assorted toasted breads, butter and strawberry jam. Service is always the best - very friendly, warm and welcoming, and the building/space is a beautiful, old, unique place. Costeaux is one of our favorite places for a quick bite or longer stay.
Always the best spot for Sunday brunch! Everything on the brunch menu is delicious.
The food is always delicious, service is friendly. I have eaten both breakfast and lunch and have never been disappointed.
Mmm mmm! πππ
They have a chocolate cake, I dont remember what its called but it has the richest creamiest frosting Ive ever graced my tongue with. Highly Recommend!
This place is a do not miss if you are in Healdsburg,Case. I used to work here years ago and it is more incredible now than it was before. The staff and owners have made it a great place to eat! Dont miss the triple chocolate mousse cake with the beautiful chocolate flower in top.
I went there for the first time with a friend! The food was delicious and the atmosphere is cozy! I definitely want to go back again!
We go there often, they have the BEST Ice Box Cookies, they dont always carry them, so call first!
Service is UNBELIEVABLY slow. It took several minutes to get seated. It took over 10 minutes to have our order taken, and I had to notify the wait staff to let them know we were ready to order.
This place is delicious! Whether you are going in for a cup of coffee and a freshly baked pastry or you want to sit down and have breakfast or lunch, it is perfect. They dont have alot of options for eat in breakfast but honestly that makes it way better. Sometimes when you give people to many options they dont know what to pick. The mocha was a little much for me, so next time Ill just try the coffee. Their pastries are amazing and made fresh, they also have lunch items and cakesπ
Ive been visiting Healdsburg for over 15 years and have always visited Costeaux. Consistently amazing. From their fresh bread and pastries to their full service breakfast and lunch - they never disappoint.
Superb breakfast from a simpke menu. Possibly the best French onion soup on the planet. Wonderful baked goods, including cinnamon nut bread to get off the freeway for. Always cheerful service.
