High quality railings very knowledgeable. Great craftsmanship. Im so glad I found out about Scott Iron Works. I will definitely do business with them again. BUT dont expect custom work on your timeline because of supply line shortages and employee shortages, due to covid-19. The workmanship of these iron works are high quality not the cheap stuff offered at bigbox stores(that are not made to code safety standards). Shop locally and support local business. Its well worth it HIGH QUALITY iron works at a reasonable price. I would have paid just as much from a big boxstore or on line retailer

Scammers! Buyers beware! Do. It trust Pete with your money or your home. I would give 0 stars if I could. gave Pete half down deposit he required 2 years ago. I called regularly and Pete told me he would come to our home to measure. He repeatedly didn’t show up or call. I guestimating 15 times! I went to the shop several times to push the project along but got strung along every time. Finally last month Pete finally came to our home. He saw the caliber and scope of our project and seemed sincere with his appreciation for the beautiful home. He said he’s been building railings for homes like ours in the neighborhood for years. I’ve been in many of 5e homes in the nieghborhood and have seen for myself the genuine iron railings. He told me to build the custom wrought iron railing I wanted would now be $975. Not $500 he told me 2 years ago. (He required half down so I paid it 2 years ago) He said he wanted more money down and it had to be cash. Although it didn’t seem right I gave him the money. I said I wanted a receipt with a completion date. Pete promised 10 days to complete on my receipt. After 15 business days and many calls to Scott Iron Works the installers showed up to install my railing. It wasn’t what I ordered. I was sold a custom wrought iron railing for our meticulously restored Detroit Tudor. I specified we did NOT want any cast iron ornaments. Everything was supposed to be solid wrought iron. The railing was supposed to go over the newel post and end with a termination piece I chose and specified.Instead they brought a railing that ended at the post, bolted on and has cast iron ornaments. The two things I specified in the design were completely ignored as if the railing were built for someone else. I went to see Pete at his shop the next day. He told me how the all bolt together railing is better than what I ordered. He chose a cast pineapple post top instead of going over the post and using the rail end I chose. To “top” it off, the pineapple doesn’t fit either because the newel post is too short so the round base of the pineapple hits the railing, preventing it from fitting. Pete had the rail end I specified in his hand when I told him I want the railing I specified and ordered or my money back. He threw the piece of iron in his showroom and said go get your railing somewhere else and he’s not giving me my money back. He refused to remove the portion of the unfinished railing that had already been partially installed. Even if they did, my new staircase and new plaster would have all sorts of screw holes .I recorded how the nice little old man turned into a nasty little man when I was at his shop. We’ve literally been waiting to list our home for sale but have been waiting for Pete to stand behind his promises. All we have now is a portion of the wrong railing, partially installed. A cheap bolt together Home Depot front porch pathetic joke of a railing at almost twice the price as originally quoted. We were ripped off of our money, time, labor charges, and satisfaction. To top it off we still don’t have a railing and we don’t want to list our home with this unresolved issue. Pete is a liar and a fake. His shop is like the twilight zone. I’m betting Pete doesn’t know how to weld. Scott Iron has several bad online reviews. Pete is a con man. He seemed so legit so I didn’t check for reviews. My recommendation is not to make the same mistake I did.Work with a reputable company with good reviews. Get an illustrated proof of your design. Get an itemized description of the type of materials to be used so you don’t get fake cheap stuff. Don’t give anybody half down. Best wishes.
