Im sad to admit, today was my first visit here. I will be back. This was the best breakfast Ive had dining out in Hattiesburg area. Staff was very friendly, food was unbelievable. Pancakes, veggie omelet and sweet potato hash (2 others were with me).. all delicious. Skip the others and head downtown.

What a great restaurant! Had the hub city hash brown platter and a Philly cheese steak. Both were delicious. Instead of fries with the cheese steak, substituted a side salad for a $1. The salad was so good with fresh vegetables. Friendly workers happy to refill your drinks. A great place for breakfast or lunch. Shop local and you’ll find these gems.

If you cant find a great breakfast in Hattiesburg, youre doing it wrong. SouthBound is no exception. Bagels are really good. Had Lox on a Salted bagel with a side of grits. Everything was perfect and the atmosphere is a welcome change of pace. Really old diner with tons of charm and a great staff.

Excellent food and excellent atmosphere! They are opening up a Burger and Blues place across the street that definitely looks like a MUST TRY place!!!

I am originally from NJ, where a good NY-style bagel is a delicacy. I had been looking for a decent bagel in Hattiesburg for 2 years when someone finally told me about Southbound. Yes! The bagels are perfect! I order a dozen everything bagels every few weeks and freeze them, eating a half each morning at work. They are delicious!

This place was amazing! Friendly service, fantastic food, and a great atmosphere! My friend and I came to Hattiesburg to visit the zoo, and we ended up eating here twice! If we ever come back, well definitely be visiting again. Shout out to the staff for their excellent work and delicious food!

I started my day off with a wonderful, Pammy breakfast (2 over-med eggs, bacon, avocado and tomato slices). The atmosphere is great with hospitality to match!

Service is always on point and food is amazing. If you’re in the mood for breakfast or their philly cheese steak, you won’t be disappointed.

Best bagels in Hattiesburg, of course, but also some of the best you can get anywhere. Its a small place with not a lot of tables, but there is some outdoor seating now, too. Definitely recommend. A nice Sunday stop on the way home from church.

Best lox far and wide. I love lox, not everyone does, but I really do, and I really love Southbound’s lox. Their salmon is smoked, and never fishy. Plus any bagel you get it on is going to be amazing!

Excellent food, great prices, and amazing staff. What else do you need? The pancakes, hash platters, and any of the bagels are highly recommended. Their house made cream cheese options are good too (I like the garden veggie). Support this place! They deserve it!

They have something for everyone, even the kids. Food is AMAZING, home-cooked made to order. The bagels are soft in the middle and slightly crunchy on the outside. Staff is super friendly. Its the feel of grandmas cooking in a coffee shop.

Whats not to love about this hole in the wall in downtown Hattiesburg? Make sure and have them make your next sandwich, breakfast or lunch, on the Jalapeno/Cheddar bread. You wont be sorry.

Have you ever had the best thing and the worst thing at the same time? I stopped here for coffee and bagels. These are the best bagels I have ever had, hands down, not even a question. 10/10 would recommend the bagels. The coffee though...well, lets just say that its definitely not the reason people come here. As we were leaving we saw a local walk in carrying coffee from somewhere else. Come to be blown away by the bagels, but dont bother with the coffee because its trash.

We’re so glad we stopped here on our way from Jackson to Biloxi. The service was fantastic and the bagels and coffee were delicious. We will be back the next time we drive through town!!

This place is a hidden gem in Hattiesburg,ms. I had the jalapeño and cheese bagel and it was amazing and soft. I will be back!

Great food. Great downtown atmosphere. Coffee is delicious. I got the Supreme hash and it was excellent. My wife got the lox and cream cheese and she loved it. I had a bite and was very surprised how good it was. The idea of fish on a bagel w/cream cheese is just not tasty in my head but I am now a believer! It doesnt taste fishy at all. This place is always a treat and I love getting to come here for breakfast!

Phenomenal bagels! Fresh and simply perfect. The cream cheese is great too. Omelettes were above average, with large chunks of ham.Coffee was standard drip coffee - nothing fancy. We are doing the low carb thing (yes you can laugh - we made an exception for fresh bagels!).Its an old fashioned diner-esqe place. Friendly staff that were attentive and food was fast and hot.

I went here with a friend, for breakfast. They asked what kind if toast I wanted. I said, oh, jalapeno cheddar toast sounds awesome.....and I received white toast with my meal. My gf asked for her bagel without cream cheese, as her omelette came with with cream cheese.....and her bagel came with cream cheese, anyway. Apart form the 2 mistakes, the food was delicious, even though it was overpriced, in my opinion. I will definitely go back again, but next time Ill double-check to make sure they heard my order correctly.

How am I just now submitting a review for Southbound!?! This is easily in my top 5 restaurants in the Pinebelt - maybe anywhere. Ive been a loyal fan since 2011ish under Hackbarth ownership and now under Haskin ownership. I probably eat here thrre or four times a month now, maybe more, for breakfast and lunch. Theres not a better breakfast place anywhere! My favorites are the Hub City Hash w/ sweet potatoes, the Chicken Pesto Sandwich, and the Jalapeño Cheddar Bagel breakfast sandwich. My kids cant get enough of the pancakes, and my wife inhales the sourdough French toast! It helps that the owner is awesome and his crew is too!

A good find as we were passing through Hattiesburg. The bagels were delicious and the coffee even better. A friendly staff with whom I had a nice chat with as my order was being put together.

This used to be my favorite place to have breakfast in Hattiesburg. A few years ago I came here to eat just about once a week. It was apparently changed ownership in the past few years.My wife and I had breakfast here recently and mistakes were made on both our orders. The portion sizes seem like they have been decreased. Her bagel sandwich barely had any eggs on it. In the past the bagel sandwich had a lot more. It seems like the quality has gone down hill.

Great place to eat! I’ve only every had the omelettes and French toast but it’s always good. I’d highly recommend if you’re in the area. The customer Service is good and feel of the restaurant is cozy.

We love this place! We eat there almost every Saturday. They have great food. The service is always good. The people are so friendly. It is a smaller place but I think that’s what I love about it. Perfect breakfast date.

I enjoy the bagels and this little gem. My favorite is the jalapeño cheddar bagel with veggie cream cheese and bacon. The chocolate chip bagel with plain cream cheese is good. The omelette are huge and good. The meat one is mostly meat!

It has been heartbreaking watching this restaurant go down the whole over the last 6 months or so. This used to be my favorite spot in hattiesburg, I was a regular. I loved the ambiance, the employees, and the food was fantastic and reasonably priced. Since the new management came, in the food isnt as good and the service is absolutely terrible. They also removed some of my favorite items from the menu, the coffee is now terrible, and everything is more expensive. They fired all of the employees that made that place what it was (or they quit, not sure). Today I went there for the last time. While waiting to place an order, a lady came to the counter and asked on the status of her plain cream cheese bagel which she had been waiting for for 30 minutes and the cook was incredibly rude to her - probably the rudest Ive ever seen a restaurant employee behave towards a customer who was by no means being rude to the staff. My friend and I left before even placing an order. Im so disappointed with what this restaurant has become, It was such a great place before the new management drove it into the ground. Ill be going to tophers for breakfast from now on.

Amazing breakfast foods and delicious sandwiches. My favorite is the turkey sandwich and the roast beef. I highly recommend the pancakes, though you can only really eat one since its the size of your plate. Overall an great spot to eat downtown!

The food has always been good, but the last time I was there, my omelet was raw in the middle. Like gooey, uncooked eggs. If I go back, Ill stick with the bagels.

Wonderful place & great bagels! They also do lunch sandwiches & eggs. Coffee is delicious. You can get bags of yesterdays bagels on the cheap, as well.Only downside is that you have to pay cash if your order is under $10.

Coffee shop may be the wrong label for this place. Its a totally retro dinner. Enter, and return to the 60s-70s. Very cool, and decent food.

The place is small and simple but is one of my favorite place to receive bagels. They are yummy and the overall atmosphere is very homey and welcoming

I love the food, but beware: they do close early. I showed up at 1:40 when they close at 2 and I was told they were closed for the day. I feel like if a place is only open 7 hours a day, they shouldnt close early. This is the second time this has happened to me. Last time I showed up at 1:30. Was definitely frustrated.

Wow, I like breakfast for dinner, one of my party got the French toast platter, another the everything bagel and eggs and I got jalapeño bagel with cheese omelet, and everything was great and we had more food than expected!

The staff were nice not just to the customers but each other also which matters. If you have a typical image of a bagel and coffee shop this is exactly that. There isnt that much seating inside but its nice they offer outdoor seating.

Omelet was delicious, bread was wonderful, coffee was good, service was good and atmosphere was very friendly. Although this was our first time to eat there I was made to to feel like I was returning to an old favorite place. I cant say enough good things about this business, may they have continued success and Ill be back whenever I can.

Had visited previously and remembered a great conversation with the chef. The chef this time was also friendly, but unfortunately the girl at the register was completely indifferent and more interested in her phone while the food was just average.
