I worked at Balax for 3.5 years. For the most part, I was appreciated and loved, even given wonderful opportunities in different departments with decent raises. Then, I encountered issues with a co-worker and was harrassed out the door AFTER filing a restraining order against the co-worker who was trying against my will to engage in a relationship with me. Others complained about his behavior towards me and also went ignored.I complained several times to the head of management and they never penalized him once, nor did they take any action to prevent him from being able to harrass others.The owner of the company told me he didnt want to set a precedent and fire him, because a different employee in my history there had been fired for slapping me on the rear with a shop rag. While they did take action in that time with that employee, they did nothing about the second employee who wound up being the reason I quit my job that I loved.They didnt fire the other employee, and he quit a day or two after me.A lot of their staff are wonderful people who have hearts of gold, some of them being floor managers.But...if youre a woman, I do not recommend working at Balax Incorporated.The plant manager seems friendly, but hes nothing but a business man with a friendly smile who will watch employees be treated like meat by new hires and tell them to deal with it for the sake of a company that wont protect them.I loved my job, but I lost all respect for the company minus a few good souls.

Balax will tell you everything you want to hear to get you in the door. I went in with an open mind and quickly learned that it was all smoke and mirrors. The pay is terrible and the plant manager does not keep his word. After telling coworkers about the problems I was encountering I was informed I wasn’t the only that has said the exact same thing. To top it off the pay is terrible. The only positive is that for the most part the people on the shop floor are very nice and helpful. If you decide to take a position with Balax get everything in writing because they will go back on what was agreed upon.
