Excellent store staffed with friendly knowledgeable people. Broad selection on all kinds of items for the home and yard. Broad selection of Espoma products. Clearance selections are Broad and priced well also. We ended up buying fire extinguishers, shower head, lip balms, house keys made, fertilizers, propane grill thermometer as well as other items. 5 out of seven stars for a perfect score. We will return.

Rocking R Hardware is a great place to go because they have everything you need for tools and hunting gear and they have great customer service and they were even able to help me out with a problem I had with my motorcycle which I feel is above what you might find at any regular hardware store such as Home Depot or Lowes. They have very affordable prices also better than Lowes or Home Depot in my opinion.

They say first impressions are lasting impressions, well these folks knocked it out of the park today on my first of many future visits.They are very friendly, professional, knowledgeable and customer service focused.Im a barber at a local barbershop and I am restoring this antique barber chair that was manufactured in the 1910s.The folks at Rocking R Ace helped me get the replacement bolts, screws, washers etc that I needed for my project. Ace is the place with the helpful hardware folks. I buy all my tools from here if they have it. The selection on power tools is amazing! Dewalt and milwaukee tools are plentiful and at a great price. They bring in a new stock of refurbished milwaukee 12v and 18v tools with a warranty and discounted. Never had the first issue with mine.

Rocking R is one of the friendliest establishments in town! The atmosphere exudes customer service at its finest. The employees are extraordinarily knowledgeable in their respective areas and everyone is extremely helpful. Whether I enter knowing full well what I need or without a clue, I always receive the same 4-star service.

There is a great selection of merchandise, and plenty of employees, but there is certainly no hurry to help customers. My previous visit took 15 minutes to get chain cut to length, and employees were walking around in groups of 3 or 4 talking to each other, and others playing on cellphones.Todays visit was even longer, as there was 7 people in line to pay and no sense of urgency by the staff. After waiting to get to a cashier to tell them I wanted mulch, I wasnt sure how much would fit on my truck, so I went outside and waited for a good 10 minutes for an employee to come out to get the mulch, and he was in no hurry, and then I had to return to the cashiers line, to wait again, to pay for my mulch. It took 45 minutes to get mulch!

Their selections are broad in scope, but specific in quality and craftsmanship. American Made and Locally Sourced are common signage here.Also, you wont find poorly made or inferior quality goods here. These folks know their products because they use them, and they are happy to help you get what YOU want. Not what The Corporate Offices want pushed off the shelves.Selection is a big difference between Rocking R and Big Boxers, as well: You wont walk into Lowes Depot and find more Milwaukee or Dewalt. And if woodworking tools are your thing, theyre the only place I know that stocks Shop Fox and Grizzly power tools.Specialty items like Beekeeping Supplies and instructional books...tree tapping/syrup making...canning/preserving...and, of course: amazing Spring bulbs, plants, seeds and seedlings! The seed selection is impressive and full of heirlooms and heritage breeds.Friendly, knowledgeable staff are everywhere and happy to be able to assist you. I was actually enthralled upon overhearing one veteran employee tell a customer which Greek invented the screw...by name. I must say, I rarely give five star reviews. One of the exceptions is this hardware store in the Shenandoah Valley where I grew up. I recently retired after working across the country and radio for the last 25+ years. I find myself needing things at this hardware store on a regular basis and regardless of my needs, I always walk away satisfied and impressed. It never ceases to amaze me how warm and friendly the staff is. They are incredibly well trained and equipped to help with virtually any thing one might need. The store is easy to navigate and is incredibly well stocked. The maintenance of the displays and point of purchase items, is impressive. The store is clean and well lit. The store is well marked in order to navigate in and out quickly. Parking is never a problem. The cashiers can be a bit chilly at times, but I chalk that up to having to deal with so many during a health crisis. As a homeowner and handyman, I frequent hardware stores wherever I live and work, which has been in multiple states around the United States. Very rude man we ask for help and all he did was come to the end of the aisle and point to the back of the store we were looking for bug killer and Im visuaiy blind as soon as we went there we thought he was coming to help but he disappeared again my wife had to go get him again he came back and still pointed and ask if we were blind hurt my feeling because I almost am never.hsd this problem before and I have been going there for years treated awful like we had the plague or something we ask him about bug spray for our strawberries and he said get Neem oil.it will work on everything killed my strawberries Ive never had this happen at ace before I have been going there for years anyway it is not aces fault just grumbling employee needs replaced

I visited store on Monday April 13th. Throughout store; customers nor staff wore masks.I went there to pick up paint already mixed and ready for pick up. There were two guys there at paint section with Ace logo on shirts. They stood close together with no masks.I had to choose paint brushes and they did not offer to help. I was there for more than ten minutes with no offers to help.I am a senior and felt very unsafe.They were talking socially with no apparent concern for a client right in front of them looking at brushes for more than 10 minutes. .It was obvious that I was having a hard decision to choose a brush. After I made my decision they said good choice. I should have asked to see a manager then to complain but felt very unsafe with their lack of safety measures.I will not return to this store and am telling everyone I can to not visit this store. I have brought many products there. I am canceling all orders from the store. I buy all my supplies there but cancelling all orders. . Whatever management is now there is not working. The

If I could give this store a zero I would I ordered a toolbox online to pick up in store my son went to pick it up everyone was rude from the start gave him a hard time even though he had the pick up number they told him they needed more than that then after they found it the guy just pointed to it didn’t even offer to help or get help so my son had to carry this heavy toolbox by himself and no one even held the door for him my dad and I and all my family shop here for our tools and plants well not anymore they have lost several customers along with my respect

I needed chains for my steel saws and a man with 35 years of working with steel helped me find what I needed and I was very impressed with the service. He answer all my questions. I have never received such good service since I have owned any steel saws.

One of largest Ace stores Ive ever been in. Looks like you can find just about anything you would need there. I did feel that things were a bit crammed and was difficult to just eyeball what you wanted quickly based on size of place and not much space. I was specifically buying Big Green Egg stuff and I walked around entire store till I found it. Yes, I could have asked but I think presentation wise, they could do better with high priced items such as that so it catches your eye minute you walk in store. Otherwise, phenomenal store.

I learn new things and receive new wisdom every time I come. Its the kind of place you could just come to hang out and absorb hundreds of years of building know-how. This is one of the coolest hardware stores around. We love the hometown feel as well as the enormous selection of neat stuff for dressing up the garden! Their seed inventory is pretty impressive in early spring...today we got quite a few fantastic things to grow. Also bought an old-fashioned popcorn maker! Theres no shortage of standard items, and theres always someone around to help you find what youre looking for. Last but not least, they hold classes occasionally! I went to Rockingham R Ace Hardware to get two keys made and my experience was wonderful! It was quick, easy and the people were incredibly kind and helpful! As you go through the store, you will be offered assistance by several employees. For a smaller hardware store, they always have what I want. They even have many things most hardware stores dont carry as they serve local farmers and Mennonites.

Great place to go for hardware, tools, farm supplies, garden supplies, and lots of other miscellaneous stuff. I go often for work and personal needs. Usually have what you need whenever most other places around town dont. Pretty much every time I go in there are two or three staff members asking if I need assistance and they can point you in the right direction quickly if you need some guidance.I also really appreciate the events and activities that they host there. I always go to the tool shows, my wife always looks forward to Ladies Night right before Christmas, and the apiary and wildlife events they occasionally do on Saturday mornings are always interesting. It seems the folks at Rocking R are doing much more than just selling hardware and making a profit.....they truly want to be an involved member of the local community. Only thing that would make Rocking R better would be if they would stay open til 7PM during the warmer months of the year so people could have some extra time to run in there to grab things for projects and so forth.

I have never entered this place without being asked if I needed assistance. Honestly, if youre not coming in here for a project... You might be annoyed by how helpful everyone tries to be. But for me... I know i can go in here and describe what Im doing or need and get some pretty knowledgeable advice. They may not have every single thing you need like a big box but i rarely leave empty handed ... The customer service is what differentiates this store from others.

For Eleven years now Ive been walking through their doors to obtain all manner of items for my home, gardens and DIY projects. Theres always someone to approach for assistance and theyll always either know or have information on the whereabouts of an item by use of their constant companion headsets and access to all the other staff on site. On occasion theyll not have what I need, and I will go to a box store in the community. However, if Ive the option, Ill choose a locally owned business, everyday. Ill (sometimes) pay the higher prices, to ensure that their business continues to offer an option to the boxes of the world.
