Dont get it twisted to suit you. My rating wasnt about not being able to get an appointment since there are so many braiders all over the place. My rating was about customer service and how the communication made me feel. Read it again and be accountable!---------The owner was very distant and appeared very moody and uncaring to the point where it seemed like I was bothering her after I stepped into her place of business where I thought I could spend my money. Just based on the conversation and the attitude, I walked out of there never to return! Note: Black Women have a hard enough time in this world and in the workplace which is why we should help each other out because that is how you get your blessings and how your blessings continue. Sisters please keep in mind that we need to acknowledge each other and support each other at all times. Lets stop looking at each other as though we are better than the other African or African American.

I got small/med box braids & they did even better than I expected. These are my go to braided from now on. Also the owner had her kids in the shop & they were very well behaved & well managed. Im so thankful I found them.

I love my hair after Matenna works her magic. Decent prices and you will not get better quality of service anywhere else! Everytime Im in her shop the atmosphere is awesome everyone is really nice and accommodating. Everytime I leave I feel like my best self .. very gentle on hair it doesnt feel tight when she is doing it but it is, trust me last 2mos +. I love her work and her whole staff is amazing!!

My hair always turns out better than expected.

I got a standard barber style haircut. price on her website was $35, but she jacked up the price $20 because she had to cut morehair than she expected.. i had about 3-4 inches of hair, that i washed and detangled myself. She only mentioned charging more when i asked her about the price change right before payment. I wouldn’t mind as much if she told me BEFORE finishing my hair. haircut was definitely not worth $55

Amazing hair stylist Matenna is definitely one of best in Virginia!!!

I paid $65 for a wash and four cornrows. The braids were not aligned properly at all and the parting was VERY sloppy. Definitely a waste of time and money. When I called back frustrated with the service I somehow was wrong according to the owner. NEVER AGAIN!

Pleasantly surprised. This was an unscheduled first time visit and these braids are the most professional looking braids I’ve had in a LONG time - please note that I get my hair braided several times a year.Had a great experience overall too..Great shop - clean, professional staff...I’ve been getting compliments ever since on my hair. 😁

Matenna did my Senegalese twists on 07/21/2018. She did a wonderful job, they are very neat and uniform in size. She unlike other stylists twists until she cant anymore and they look seamless from top to bottom. I got size small/ waist length and they were worth every penny. I have gotten so many compliments. I will definitely return to MD Hair salon.

Went back for a second time to get box braids. During this transactions everything went great. She informed me prior to my appointment what was the best option for me due to my short length. It was not what I initially wanted but understood why she suggest what she did. She also educated me on what hair to get and how to treat it as synthetic braids make me itch. Which her instructions worked perfectly. The day I arrived for my appointment my hair was stated immediately. I received small box braids and I must attempt even though this is not what I wanted at first, I’m glad I listened this is my favorite braid hairstyle I have ever got. They are perfect the length, color, style. I love everything about them. Matenna and her new braids are wonderful. My hair is not tight at all and they kept my edges out. Great appointment and great conversation. This will remain my braiding shop.

I finally decided to go get my hair professionally box braided after about 7 years and I’m so so happy I went to MD hair salon!!! MY HEAD DOES NOT HURT- of course there is a little tension- But they didn’t pull the memories out my brain, and I’m so grateful for it! It’s been two days and I’m getting nonstop compliments!! They were all so kind and it was clean!! And FAST!! I definitely recommend!!!

I used to travel 3 hours to D.C. to get my Senagalese done for the last 8 years... because if your gonna pay the money, you want to of course make sure they are done right and last. ... And then I found MD Deluxe Hair Salon!!! She did a fabulous job with my Senagalese and her pricing was better too. I was already ecstatic to find her right here in my back yard, but then after a month I realized not ONE braid fell out... you know something in the back ALWAYS slips... but not with her!!! I have had these in for 2 months and people still people compliment me daily on my hair!!!So came to get a touch up to rock for another 3 weeks or so.I will never go to anyone else ever again!!! No matter what you show her, she can do with no problem!!!

I called to cancel my appointment that I had scheduled for Thursday due to work obligations. I called her today at 9:45 to be exact to let her know that I will not be able to make appointment. I was unable to go into style seat to cancel appointment in the time she wanted me to because I was driving, so she charged my card 40.00. The issue I have is that she was able to cancel the appointment herself because she did, and she cancelled the appointment because she had another client who needed to book that appointment so it wasn’t like she missed out on any money. I gave her notice letting her know that I wasn’t going to make it but she charged me because I didn’t remove me name right when she needed me to. I’m from Texas and these braiders here are a different breed extremely rude and unprofessional I’ll just stick with DK&Amy. She text me to let me know I didn’t cancel exactly 24 hours before appointment, my appointment was at 0900 tomorrow and I called her at 9:45 today. I guess she lucky she does good work because if reviews was based off her professionalism alone then she would be hurting.

Made an appointment with thee owner she put me with a protege. Had the NERVE to call Me while I was getting brkfst as if I was late telling Me they were booked ALL DAY bk to bk...so Im on time and she had someone in the chair. Noisy as hell kids tvs and she complained about myyyy son pfft. Then told me $190 for medium Senegalese...I pay 180 for small. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL WITH A BAD ATTITUDE. DO GOOD HAIR BUT THERES PLENTY OF OTHERS...AFRICAN BRAIDERS CONE A DIME A DOZEN. BYE
