Worst truck stop in Louisiana, pot holes everywhere. No fountain drinks, cashiers had nasty attitudes. Should have gone to Pilot instead

My husband and I stopped here for the night. We paid to park. We went in for a shower like we do at many Petro Travel Centers. My husband does most of his business with Petro never had any issues till tonight 10/21//2021. My husband walked up to the counter to ask for a shower for me and him to share. Due to some of my health issues we just share the shower so he can keep an eye on me. Also it helps other driver so we ain’t taken up an extra shower. He ask the cashier on dudy for an extra towel for me. The cashier refused to give us a towel. Told us we had to get a team shower. So my husband said okay I’ll get a team shower. So I can get the towel for my wife. Then the cashier on duty continued to keep saying we had to get our own shower and we couldn’t share. Mind you we did that over just needing a simple towel for me to use. I then asked the cashier her name so I could make a complaint to corporate. She refused to give me her name and made she her identification tag wasn’t seen. Then the night parking Guard came into the game room while we was waiting for our shower turn and started harassing us after we paid to park. Not only would he not leave us alone. He was accusing us of things we didn’t do. The night parking guard reeked of marijuana could barely hold his eyes open. I made sure I let them both know I was reporting them. I also asked him his name so I could make sure corporate knew what was going on at this Location. How they was treating there a professional drivers. Not that I need to disclose my health information or the importance of why I am closely Monitor in certain situations. In 10 years of being on the road never have we had this kinda discrimination against us. I did make the complaint to corporate via email. It wouldn’t go thru so I am calling them the next business day.

Ive always enjoyed stopping at Petro, especially to eat.But this time. I wanna thank Petro, for letting us truck drivers, stay in their property. Even though they were closed for lack of power, after hurricane Ida. And at the same time. Apologize for my fellow truck drivers that are just downright messy. Piling trash on trashcans that are already full. Knowing that there is nobody to empty such trashcans, because youre closed. You could have decided to close your property, so no one could go in until you were back in business. But you didnt. And for that, I thank you.👍🇺🇸👍🇺🇸👍🇺🇸

Clearly this petro don’t pay there employees good🤦‍♂️ that’s why most of the employees that work here have attitude problem and don’t care about customer service what so ever let alone keeping this place clean. Everything on this property whether if it’s bathrooms, showers or just the store it self is DIRTY. One last thing if your a driver be VERY CAREFUL going in and out this place since your gonna going through lots of pot holes.

This place is quickly becoming a dump. Fuel pumps half are down, pot holes everywhere. No maintenance done anywhere

Cashiers had no hospitality at all and acted like we bothered them to cash us out. Also they made us go to another line to pay for a shower when the computer was less than a foot behind her. When cashed out for the second time we were given attitude when asked if we wanted to cash out our fuel points to use on the shower instead of the free shower we already had. There truly was ragin Cajuns at this store.

Most of the parking spaces are paid parking($20). Restrooms are below the average. The asphalt is very bad.

Stopped by this petro on 8/5/2021 to get something to eat at the iron skillet and to buy a few miscellaneous items. The entire staff that is working was unprofessional except for the server Desiree, several staff members who were working the registers were yelling across the room loudly at patrons to go get mask while there mask were down below there chins the gentleman who was supposed to be in the back preparing food was out in the dinning room yelling at customers to get mask yet his was down below his chin as well. The food was terrible and greased like someone was intentionally trying to give me a heart attack, the so called toast was literally dipped in butter and put into a bowl.I would not recommend doing business at this establishment.

The las two rows at this place are paid parking are not marked but they will send Kunta to let u know and tell u that its paid parking they are reserved allready.

Restaurant not open reasonable hrs, no food early morning in fuel area and very limited rest of time. Parking lot rough as hell with most of it pay parking.Shows once again the corporate clowns care little about drivers. The lot for cars sure looks repaved recently. The corporate office realizes we have to fuel somewhere but why fix anything or care about the driver just take money for bonuses and shareholders and not fix anything. More interested in getting locals in as a convenience store.

Giving this place a 2 is definitely benefit of the doubt. Only because I never saw the inside due to temporary closure, so maybe it is okay in that respect. The parking lot however is literally the WORST PARKING LOT EVER!! Seriously, fix this ! It is like a a freaking blast zone, the entire thing! If a driver can drive thru at 3 mph and its comparable to off roading, thats a problem!

Parking: most parking is paid parking and most paid parking spaces are stolen by non-paying drivers. They now have lot patrollers and WILL kick you out if you don’t have a reservation.If you reserved a space via the TA/PETRO phone app, you still have to go inside to the fuel desk and have them print you out a receipt to place in your windshield. Otherwise they will knock on your door in the middle of the night wanting you to move.

Its a Petro...I feel like that says enough on its own. Its terrible. Its old. Its outdated. Its unsafe. Its gross. Ridiculous concept of pay for parking after giving them hundreds of dollars to fill your truck...then they do nothing with the money obviously, because they the parking lot is in the WORST shape Ive ever seen in this country. This place is something Id expect in a 3rd world country....but thats the case with all TAs and Petros.

Most of truck parking is pay to park and youd think with the money they make from extorting truckers theyd have a better parking lot for us drivers

You cant even call the restaurant when i did call i was connected to the fuel store and after inquiring about why i could not talk to the restaurant i was told I DONT KNOW IM NOT AT&T so ordering Chinese food for 7 tonight. Parking lot is bad. Pay spots to many. Very small convenience store. Way over priced. Restaurant food so so. Bathrooms dirty and need updating. Petro and TA was all ways the standard for truck stops now the are the dives of the truck stops. Staff in restaurant friendly. Also staff in convenience store friendly.

Worst night staff ever!!! Getting 50k diesel every month and getting harassed by night security guard lady. A big lady actually. She was screaming yelling super loud like something have gotten into her. So I’ve reached out to night manager and they refuse to serve me without even hearing me out bcz she told them too. It happen couple months back. COE SHould take it seriously. She was so ready to assault me. I can provide actual day and time so you can look into cameras how she was behaving. She got mental issues people stay away from her. Ta/Petro should appreciate our business to you guys instead of getting us harassed by these kinda employees. Fire her!!! I live near this Petro. I called ahead and asked for a steer tire. I was told that they have the tire. I got there and waited three hours in the parking lot. They flagged me in and jacked the truck up. That is when they told me that nobody knew how to work the balancing machine.This is a raggedy operation.This a good place to WASTE YOUR TIME AND GET NOTHING DONE!

I paid for a spot at 2 pm. I get to this horrible store at 11 pm only to be told that not only my spot was taken but that they couldnt do anything about it. I was exhausted and asked that they get the driver out of my paid spot. They said there was nothing they could do about it because it would take a long time for them to locate the driver. I had 20 minutes left to drive and thought for sure, out of common sense, respect and decency I would have my parking spot. If they had a zero, thats what Id rate this place. Thanks for being the worst store Ive driven to.

Decent place to stop. Ton of parking, with a separate section for RVs. Store is a bit on the small side. No separate driver lounge, but plenty of chairs and end tables scattered about.

Everyone was so nice and the store was very clean. We ate at the Iron Skillet and our waitress Cynthia was amazing! She makes killer sweet tea.

Petro and Iron skillet used to the cream of the crop in my book. Now they charge for 95% of their spots in Hammond La at least. $20 at that! No sir parking at the very least should be free. Especially for the working man that keeps this country running. I’ll never spend a dollar a Petro TA.

Very sad experience. The steak over cooked but thats to be expected. The mashed potatoes didnt have gravy, no salad dressing and had to wait over an hour after I ordered even though it was slow. The kitchen needs some guidance and quality control.

I went to cut my hair at this stablishment.The Man there ....I showed him the hairstyle I wanted on a pictureHe did whatever he wanted cutting my hair militarily style .Its just hair, it will grow again but that barber is everything but a barber.

Stopped there many times while traveling and working great place to and relax and enjoy your self, good food and wait staff, convenient store, restaurant, truck shop, fuel deisal and gasoline, fax, laundry, drivers lounge,showers,plenty of parking, handicap parking, access right on the interstate, and access from many different ways.plus theres many other aminties you might need on all directions things to know when traveling.⛽🛵🏍️🚙🚗🚐🚐🚛🚒🚑🚓🚕

All the good mechanics leave because they pay cheap they hire new people that dont kw how to peferom their task & possible cause equipment failure while otr. Please pay & properly train your mechanics before they cause TA to face a huge lawsuit due to a accident from fail equipment

By far the best experience Ive had as a trucker at any restaurant. The waitress that was working my booth was Andrea. I had to do a repower and the other driver showed up just after i started eating. I notified Andrea that I didnt finish my food and i wasnt trying to bail on her. When i came back inside I apologized to her. She understood. Two other drivers who ordered takeout got fish dinners and asked if Andrea put condiments in the bag. She replied yup everythings there. They were amazed. I told the drivers that shes SHARP. Just as i was about to part my lips to ask for a refill it was already on the table. She was on top of everything. I can guarantee all the customers enjoyed their evening.Lets just say Andrea got a good tip.

They charge for parking here if you visit. Whether you done at iron skillet or purchase something you still have to pay them for parking. Stupid and good riddance, never stopping here again. Price gouging on everything anyways.

Theyve cleaned it up and the coffee was fresh. The restaurant has improved on speed of cooking, but I couldnt order what I wanted because the iceberg and spring mix were spoiled, they had 2 kinds of chicken soup.

Worst truck stop experience in years. Petro/TA offers far fewer benefits to truckers than their competitors. Examples: Wifi $6/day at TA/Petro, FREE at Loves & Pilot. 1 cent/point per gallon at Petro/TA, 3-4 cents/points per gallon at Loves (based on previous months purchases), Parking $20 !! competitors that charge for parking usually give it for free with $20+ in store purchase, NOT Petro/TA!! Guys i spend over $40,000 a year on fuel, Petro/TA will not be getting any of those $$ in the future because they dont take care of truckers or match their competitors rewards benefits. I honestly dont know why so many truckers keep returning to Petro/TA. I wont be back

Very dirty place. Trash can always full & trash all over the floor. Same thing every week that I stop by. Worst coffee on the interstate.

More than half the parking here is reserved parking. The WiFi signal both inside & out sucks. Youd think with all the money they make off parking, theyd try and get us a better signal. This is the most reserved parking Ive seen at any TA or Petro.

Came in yesterday 08/15/20, today is 08/16/20. Same trash but more pile up, yet we gotta wear a mask when there isnt even no soap or sanitzer to wash our hands. This place is ok but today its a joke.

I will NEVER stay at a petro again. read and like all the BAD reviews if we want to make a difference. i got charged $20 for NON reserved parking NO sign NO paint on ground literally free parking. but security guard said thats how it goes. clerk said thy have 90 reserved spots. 90•$20=$1,800 per day. paint your parking lot you scammer. probably pay security guard $100 per night. WEAK business. i will never stay at a petro again. only flying j or pilots.

Any truck stop that has over 60% reserved parking spots should be avoided it’s bad enough that this chain over charges for groceries and simple amenities and they still want you to pay for a spot to park I wouldn’t mind as much if it was only 10% reserve parking stalls. especially now that we run E-log. Now that we have no choice but to park. I remember when truck stops appreciated your business now it’s about finding ways to rip you off and TA/Petro are the biggest violators I would never stop At any of their locations unfortunately the company I work for gets better discounts with this chain

Stopped in here about 1:30pm today to fill up our big rig. Intended to buy food from the hot table in the fuel island. But all three workers going in and out behind the counter there and handling the food were maskless. There was a masks-required sign on the door, but they weren’t enforcing the regulation for employees, not even the ones handling food.

If youre a Truck driver this a great place to stop to grab something to eat or just take a break. If after fueling you dont want to go all the way to the main Petro store there is plenty of food to choose from inside fuel desk store.

I will never go there again .Got 500.00 of fuel paid over 17.00 for a meal and lucky enough to get a parking spot.Why shall any truck driver have to pay to park when they provide the needs all around the country .This Petro has taken about 100 spots of reserve parking that a driver has to pay if there is no other parking and if they run out of hours. I think its a bunch of bull what they have done to the trucking industry for us to do things legal we got to pay for it as in finding a parking spot. We can get showers if we get fuel for free. But cannot get a parking spot if we get fuel. I got there at 11:30am and all the parking was full but one I got it unless you pay for it at a reserve parking spot.Not one truck driver was parked in there about 100 reserve parking areas . Over the CB there was many drivers complaining about it .Petro was one of my favorite spots to pull over at .But now I see there not out for the American trucker !!!! Was a customer no longer will be.This is there lot of reserve parking areas not one truck driver parked there .Petro is loosimg money and a lot of customers.

This place can be a cluster to get in and out off. Restaurant is and absolute hit and miss. Major of the lot is paid parking. There are two barber shops in the amenities building. Ive tried both and Legacy IV cutting lounge is the best out of both. Do call to see if he is available as he travels teaching the craft. He also sells good products for hair and skin.

Went to get some new tires checked in and a while later the bay was ready. picked out the tires told the tire technician what I wanted the new tires and out of nowhere he told me it was a lot of work I was shocked when he told me that. I went inside were i checked in and told the lady what the technician told me she went to tell him what I wanted done about a few minutes later I see the technician taking the tires out the rim and told the lady what was going on she went out to tell him again and i hear the technician tell her that he was not going to do it she came back and told me that the other technician will be there at 6am and told her that was ok. the next morning around 8am they started working on the tires and they were finished by 11am which i lost a lot of time and money. Then i find out that they we’re going to have a meeting with the technician from the night before about the incident which i hope they did no one should wait a very long time on some tires this happened on 06/22 around 11pm. AVOID THIS SHOP AT ALL COSTS!!!!

$20 to park after $350 of fuel. The shop should be embarrased. 3 visits. 2 rude cashiers. No mechanic once. Another time. Only mechanic and he wasn’t certified to change my marker light. 🤦‍♂️ Third time. Guy qualified. Changed marker light and tightened 2 bolts on my wheel.......... $147........ Never again.

A pretty Petro better than most. A great friendly staff always eager to helpOne in particular a man named Gerald working nights. Always busy doing something,but quick with a kind word and very knowledgeable about the store a great guy. Foods pretty good at the Iron Skillet as well. So all in all a good Petro to stop at.

As for truck parking, 80% of the semi-truck parking are paid parking (reserved parking) which this is busy happening country wide, then where are the average truck needing to park then? most truck drivers earn less then minimum wage.

Again, these establishment has gone to extremes, loud speaker keeps emphasis on social distance, not able to grab our own items. This is against our constitutional right as people. These truck stops need to stop listening to the media and listen to the drivers.

I am very happy with this place. They have a very nice restaurant attached, nice bathrooms. Plenty of parking. This is a truck stop but a nice truck stop. If you are in a car and need to rest for awhile, this is the place to do it.

Like usual TA/Petro, 80% paid parking, which this late still isnt 1/2 utilized. Make my own parking works better for me and my wallet! The rent-a-cop knocks on my truck, my dog will make sure he has to change his underbritches!

I love to go in this place because the people who work here are so kind! They go the extra mile to make sure you have a good sales experience. Very nice people!

They charge 20 dollars for a 10-hour parking even though we are in a national emergency due to the 19 covid pandemic. They do not consider drivers who are risking their lives to supply them with everything they need. They are not interested in spending thousands of dollars. dollars supplying the oil in its facilities. for my part I will continue paying that fee for the 10-hour parking but I will never again supply my trucks in Petro or TA.

Dont show up thinking youre going to get anything good to eat after 2245. Used to have a movie room. Well, its a gym that locks its doors even before the Iron Skillet does. Pretty soon Flying J and Pilot will be the only place for hot food. Such a shame Petro had to sell its soul to TA like it did.

This particular Petro isnt too bad. Its got some pretty good food. The wait staff in the restaurant as well as the cashiers are nice and helpful. The downside to this place is if youre a trucker you need to get there early or youre not going to have anywhere to park unless you pay for it. Typically you need to be there before 3 p.m. to avoid having to pay for a reserved slot. It isnt exactly an easy place to get out of but that isnt their fault that is the fault of the city. The city added medians and to traffic circles on either side of it which has caused a bit of a hassle for truck drivers. But other then these things the place is pretty good.

Not all Petro service ctrs are created equal...The one in Hammond, LA is a cut above the rest...Top notch service!!!!👍😎⛟Mech Corey Jackson is as professional as they come and his knowledge of these big rigs is on point...HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place

Horrible food, horrible service, would not recommend anyone to eat at the iron skillet here. Food was served raw, no tomatoes, and cold. Sweet tea tasted old and was real cloudy like it had been made since last night, waitress said that it was caused by the pitcher the tea was made was not cleaned

Small store. Lots of parking as usual for Petro. All amenities including barber. Iron Skillet. Clean. Nice staff.Pilot across street if necessary.

I had dinner at the Iron Skillet and it was as expected, I always get the same meal and it was good. However the following morning I went into the diesel convenient store and it was absolutely filthy, trash cans overflowing, and there was such a rotting smell by the coffee machines. I had to hold my breath, I thought I was going to vomit. Disgusting.

Friendly service clean rest rooms and i won on my lottery tickets I got there.

1pm and trying to find parking is slim to none, they have a barber shop inside the main store, once again way too many paid parking spots here at this location, getting in an out sucks, everything is round a bouts and cars dont wanna give ya the time of day.

Awesome buffet at a decent price. Food was great, a lot of variety, and great presentation. Restaurant was very clean, staff was super friendly, and I really enjoyed my meal. Store was very nice as well. Lots of parking, and lot was fairly clean.

This is a full service truck stop. The gas is a bit cheaper than most stations the bathrooms are very clean and well maintained and the convenience store has lots of trucker needs. I didnt care for the food in the restaurant. The employees are really good and very friendly. I wouldnt go there to eat but everything else is great.

Decent truck stop. Just like all of them in this nation, sure, it fills up with trucks and may not have an available space to park. If I know Im getting there late, I use reserved parking - the 12 bucks is a small price for peace of mind while Im driving knowing that a space is waiting for me. Staff is reasonably courteous and showers clean.

Decent place, but too many reserved parking spaces.!! HALF of the truck parking is reserved. Its wrong to make us pay for parking. Our companies do not reimburse us for it and with as much money we spend on fuel and in your stores, its a shame you have to be so greedy. Its not like we have much of an option. Cant exactly park anywhere.

Nice place and nice employees.

They have a barber shop, convenient store and an Iron Skillet. All of the free parking was filled by 4 pm and Im not sure why. They must give one hell of a haircut because the Iron Skillet Buffet was TERRIBLE. The waitresses were nice but the food on the buffet was dry, discolored and old. The best part of my experience was watching the face of each potential customer as they looked at the buffet. Their reactions of disgust made me laugh until my stomach hurt. If the Iron Skillet wasnt at a truck stop they would not be in business. I will not be stopping here again. **FYI - The picture of seafood in the photos category is NOT served here.

Not impressed with the food selection or prices of items in the fuel island convenience store. My co-driver wanted to send money via western union. They gave him the form and after filling it out they told him the machine is down. Not very intelligent staff. Not worth stopping for.

This place never has any free parking,more than half of the parking lot is paid parking. You would think that with all the money they are making with fuel and paid parking. The parking lot would be nicer. Lot lizard walking around knocking on doors at all hours, and mind you they have security. From now on I will go out of my way not to stop here
