The meats were definitely priced pretty good for the value. and store is clean and the service fast. We compared the prices with meat markets we go to and we paid half this time out and filling our freezer. And in these time we need bargains and quality. This is a good buy. And good store produce a little high.

My favorites from here are the fresh fruit cups and Pico de Gallo. Their meat selection is pretty good too and the friendly staff.

I believe and trust this store in the business of selling great products to the customers all around the Hammond area

Love this place. Fresh produce and meat products. Chicken has no rib meat all chicken. Staff will run Arrecheda meat to make thinner. They also will cut rib tips and other meat to customers size preference. They also have a large variety of different meats and produce to choose from

This is a great store to shop at. Neat and clean. Staffs great the owner Frank is a great guy they are always helpful.

They have great items at a good price. Their meat counter is well organized and they are extremely quick. They have all types of meats from marinated chicken tenderloins to pigs feet. Highly recommend!

My first time here it was surprisingly nice and well stocked. The clientele was a little scary. If they had security they would have alot more customers.

Like that they have reasonable prices on fruits and vegetables. Some things you have to cook or eat within a week thats fine with me be because of the price.

Ive been shopping there for over 15 years now. The have fresh meats, produce, vegetables and fruit for better than competitive prices. Over the past 3 tears theyve really stepped their game up. Its a family store thats clean and shopper friendly. I would recommend it for anyone.

Great store but horrible parking lot. I wish the business owners would complain to their owner to repaint the parking lot. Cars are too close to each other in some areas. Other than that, pretty decent place to do shopping.

I love shopping here because the staff is always friendly. I like the weekly sales they offer and its great that when they have items 2for5, if you buy only one, its $2.50. You dont have to buy the two to get sale price, love it! If I want half cantelope, they slice one in half for me, that is great customer service!👍 I will continue shopping there and Im telling EVERYONE I know to shop there because they are a great value for your money! The food is always fresh like the produce, and the wraps and fresh salads they prepare there, are so delicious and good for those of us on the run or want quick snack. 👏

Fruits are molded, butchers are unprofessional, Very rude to customers of color and could care less about customer service. Family owned store so when black customers come in asking for applications they “don’t have any”. Management needs ally of improvement. Not a very welcoming store.

Every time I come to 1st choice, I never leave with the things I paid for! Its like as soon get groceries home, I realize that all of my items are not there! When the grocery countrys is full of bags, they steal the items back!

I have been coming here for more than 12 years. This is a great MEAT Market some of their produce, dry and cangoods are ok but their niche is meat. I regularly get steaks cut to any thickness I want. T-bone, prime, strip also pork chops! Large free parking lot and handicap parking.

They have the best mango salsa and guacamole in the area, bar none, and the best avocados. If youre really lucky, youll get there just as the fresh bread rolls are ready.

My family calls it The Black Store because when we 1st moved to Hammond 12 years ago, it was the only store that sold ethnic meats at reasonable prices. We still love it!
