My Best Experience at an Auto Shop Ever! First time going here. I called many places but thought I would try this place.I brought my own parts and asked for labor quotes and the prices the owner Paul gave me were great but I assumed they would add taxes to the prices he gave me but he stuck to his word and charged me exactly what he quoted me, not a penny more.I asked for my old/used parts back expecting them to throw the old/dirty parts into the box i gave them to put them in and not only did they finish replacing 6 parts quickly, the mechanic put all of my old parts neatly back into the boxes of the new parts and then put them into that box i gave them!I had to drop off my car bc I got a lot of work done so when i came back my car was parked in the parking lot. This was my first time going here so I didnt know if I should just take their word that the parts were replaced so i asked if they could drive it back into the garage and lift it up so i could see the finished work. They lifted it up for me and it looked great! I know I can trust them now, going forward.And to top it all off, my car drove well on the way back home.They just made a long-term customer out of me!

Although I priced clutch replacements all over Chicago Land, no other business could beat the price, the warranty, or turnaround time compared to Auto Masters. Not only that they give a 10% discount to any work over $299. I am a proud repeat customer and endorse their work.

This place is great. The guy that runs the shop in the front is probably one of the honest business man I’ve met. I’m not sure if he’s the owner but he is the man. The phone manners are great, they have great mechanics that are detailed oriented and do not cut corners. A great waiting area with the homiest feeling I’ve ever got for a shop.

Great service and good prices. My experience with them goes back about eight years with multiple cars. The folks here are honest and trustworthy. It helps to call the shop first if possible so they can work you into their schedule otherwise you may have a longer wait. Sometimes they can offer you a ride home and later pick you up when they are done. I do recommend when visiting any mechanic to get a written estimate before the work begins for any major work which they will gladly provide.

Had several vehicles (beaters) worked on here over the last 10 years. They took care of all the stuff I was to lazy to do myself. Good work for a fair price. They keep cost to a minimum. I recommend them for all general mechanical work.

These guys really saved me. I was on a 3000 mile road trip and a vibration that was supposed to be “fixed” on my car before I left had taken a turn for the worse. I called a ton of auto shops in town and Auto Masters was the only one who sensed my desperation and could get me in that day. First of all, their waiting area was great which is nice if you’re from out of town with no one to call and nowhere to go. Second of all, they had me drive the car with a mechanic in the passenger seat so I could identify precise issues I was having, and they also walked me through every single step of what was happening before starting to fix anything. Third, they had me back on the road within a couple hours in a SAFE vehicle, and the price was reasonable. I wish they were located in my area. I can’t recommend them enough.

Our car broke down on our way from Green Bay, WI to Detroit, MI. Called Paul at Auto Masters and he was able to get us in right away. Paul and his staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. They diagnosed the problem right away and got us back on the road quickly and at a very reasonable price. I would definitely recommend them.

Paul and his crew are top notch, old school, and very knowledgeable. Honest prices and service. So happy I found them. Oil change can take longer than the express chain stations, but all other car maintenance I only trust Automasters.

I had both visited and called up a different local car repair shop to get quoted for my repairs. They took down my phone number and even after pestering them 3 times, they never got back to me with a quote. However, Paul from Auto Masters not only gave me a reasonable price, but also quoted me then and there, over the phone. They were also able to find quality replacement parts to get my vehicle repaired promptly. They are friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful. I will definitely be going back here for any further car issues I may have in the future. Great job, guys!

They are horrible people who tried to take advantage of me. I had to take my vehicle back 3 times because they didnt fix the issue only tried to rig something and side track a permanent fix for a temporary fix to pass emissions which is illegal in the state of Indiana. Never even consulted with me on what work needed to be done or what they were doing which I feel its my money and my car I hired them to perform a task and I shouldve been notified every step of the way. End result check engine light still on cant take it to emissions because they wanted more money to do what they shouldve did the first time. This is what the guy told me quote ( I dont know anyone who wants to pay $700 to fix a bullshit emissions problem ) Me the guy whos dependent on his vehicle to get to work and get my kids from school etc etc.. I dont know anyone who wants their hard earned money to temporarily fix something thats their going to have to down the road spend more money to fix again because it was never fixed to begin with .. Dont go there taking them to court bastard...

Now Auto Masters is about 25 years old. The guy at the front desk has been in the Hammond times. They can fix your car, but its kind of pricey (parts/mechanic/test). Theyll let you buy the parts and just put them on (save some scratch).And be careful about what they do before they do it. Ask them is there a charge. After they do something its too late. You could be there quite a while waiting on your car or leave and come back.

Going there for 20 years. They dont know what theyre doing. Last couple trips theyve overcharged me ridiculously. Brought a Lincoln LS in with the part. They told me there is no such thing as a heater control valve after looking for it under the hood. I had it changed somewhere else. Girlfriend brought car in for CV axle. They cut off her Cat and charged her 250 and never fixed the CV axle which snapped on her the next day. RIP OFF!!!

Tried to take advantage of me over quoted the price of my repair by $1800. If doing business with these crooks check the prices of the parts yourself and ask how much theyre charging for labor. The tow is overpriced as well. Shop around unless you have money to throw away.

Paul at Automasters has always been fair and reasonable in the price and the labor costs, along with the quality of work.
