I purchased a 2008 G35x from Skyline Automotive (my first car). Kelly is very patient, kind, and he cares a lot about customer experience. The car has been working great and they fixed issues it had prior to me picking up the car. I have had it for months now and the only issue I had was an oil leak, which was fixed with a quick $20 gasket replacement, but I wasn’t worried as it was an older used car and those things aren’t uncommon.Contrary to a lot of car dealers, Kelly did not harass or push us to buy the car. I will forever recommend Skyline to everyone I know! Kelly was so awesome to work with! I had been looking for a car for a while, so I had been around to many different places at this point. One place tried to sell me an over priced broken car, others didn’t have the inventory they had listed wasting my time driving long distances for nothing. Kelly had the car he had stated and was ready to go when we showed up for our appointment. The car was priced extremely fair. After I bought the car Kelly drove it and decided the brakes needed to be fixed. I had test drove the car and I knew nothing was obviously wrong with the brakes, and I had already purchased the car. He could have easily ignored it and let us go, but instead took the car into his shop for new brakes. Finding someone so honest and fair is a hard trait to come by these days. Kelly went above and beyond making sure the car was in the best condition it could be in before he let us drive off the lot. I would tell my own mother to use Skyline for automobile purchases.

I bought 2012 gmc 1 day later the check engine light came on, I called them they fixed it ! 1 week later my light came back on and I’m $700 in to fixing it ! But the go over and inspect cars before ! That’s a lie because my car had no oil in it ! You think they would have caught that in there inspection !

They let me test drive a car without a working drivers seatbelt. Things wrong with the cart that if I didn’t have someone that knew cars with me would have easily taken advantage of me.

After 6 months of searching for the exact car I wanted at the exact price I was willing to pay striking out at every dealership from Roseville to Rochester, literally. I finally went to Ken at Skyline Automotive. Told him what I wanted and he said no prob. Well, what I wanted wasnt as easy as Ken thought it would be (I knew it wasnt gonna be easy)A little more than a month later Ken delivered the exact car I wanted at a price I was willing to pay! They even took care of the custom/factory backup cam that the car did not come with but was a requirement for the purchase. They Are Amazing. Bought the car and drove it back the same day. They handled all the paper work with the Plates and Title and All of it gets mailed to your house. They have excellent customer service, and are willing to work with you if you have money down and want to take out a loan for a partial amount.

I have nothing but praise to give to Tim and the staff at Skyline Automotive. Within an hour of making an email inquiry about a car we found on the internet, Tim had called to discuss our interest and set up a time for a test drive. After about 15 minutes on the phone, I had a good feeling about him and he stated that he had a good feeling about me. So we went in to test drive the car. The car was ready and waiting for us and we had all the time we needed to inspect and drive it. Tim essentially gave us the keys and left us alone. The car drove well, but was not too our liking as another that was on the lot. However, the other car was a recent trade-in and not ready to be seen. Tim told us that we are selling cars a bit too fast and that our case was another example of a customer being interested in a vehicle that was not ready. He stressed the importance of his mechanic having the say in when a car is ready to be seen by the public. Since the vehicle of interest to us was a hybrid, the mechanic was going to do a thorough inspection of the hybrid system before giving the OK for a test drive. Based on our experience so far, we decided we were willing to wait a few days and make the trip (about an hour for us) to come and give the car our inspection after they were ready to show it.Tim was great about calling and following up with us and arranged for us to come test drive the car after my spouse and I got off of work. This put us at the dealership around 7pm. The car was ready and waiting and like before, he gave us the keys and let us be. The vehicle drove well, and had a good interior environment with everything functional. After arriving back at the dealer after a half hour out with the car, we met with Tim to discuss it. An important thing to note is that Tims children were at the dealership with him while we made our late evening visit, and his interaction with his children gave me more indication about his character than anything. His patience and kind attention to his children while he attended to us was extremely helpful in giving us all the confidence we needed to attest to his character, especially as the clock ticked to 8:30 pm... (I would rather buy pay more to someone of good character than get a great deal from someone of questionable reputation.). We were prepared to pay the full asking price of the car as we thought it was fairly priced based on our research and our conversation with Tim. While out on the drive, Tim had done some more looking at his costs on this vehicle and simply offered to reduce the price about $360 with no prompting from us. While he may have been prepared to make a price reduction from the beginning (I can never really know that), his act of making it easier for us to save money further enhanced our positive experience and helped to seal the deal for us. We made arrangements to come back three days later on a Saturday to make the purchase. From this point on, Tim continued to extend us support as we needed it.Needless to say, I have an automotive dealer in the Twin Cities that I trust. Next time I need a car, I will be checking with Skyline first. Plus, if I really want a specific model of car, I can make an arrangement with Skyline whereby they will go to auction for me and try and and find it.

I purchased a 2013 Ford Transit Connect from Skyline Automotive. We agreed on a time to meet, upon arriving they were not plowed out. The car had a dead battery and was jump started. I was not able to drive it, however it ran well and looked very nice. The Car had a low fuel light, tire pressure light was on and of course the battery. Dan agreed to take care of these issues. I put $500 down and we agreed on repair of the items and a test drive after the lot was plowed. When I arrived the next day I was told the battery was fine, the tank was still empty and the tire pressure light was still on. The car drove fine and Dan told me to fix it closer to home instead of driving back an hour. I had the sensor replaced with a charge of $96.00, when I called him for reimbursement I was told he could have had it done cheaper, we agreed on $65.00. I was never reimbursed for the tire sensor. A few days latter the battery was dead again and when I had it tested it was bad and needed to be replaced also.

Most of the time when you are a female and go to a dealership they treat you different, at Skyline I didnt feel like they were trying to just make the sale. I had been in the market for a smaller SUV to fit some new members of my family and get rid of an older car needing work . I went to Skyline and met with the owner who allowed me test drive a few different options with no pressure to buy and I didn’t get that feeling at all through the whole process which took some time but for good customer service reasons .The Ford Escape I liked had a check engine light come on when test driving it . Ken and Dan took a lot of time diagnosing the issue and ensured the repair by driving the vehicle for three days to make sure it was good to go. Even after that I still had no pressure to buy it . In the end I came home with it and got a great price with an outstanding warranty option at low additional cost . Car was washed and detailed prior to leaving . Ken is a wonderful person and always goes above and beyond for his customers. He knows his stuff and is one of the few mechanics that I really trust (plus Dan was one of my favorite shop guys). If you want to go somewhere where they actually care and arent trying to rip you off, GO HERE.Any negative reviews on here are clearly from people that dont understand basic concepts, or dont listen to what they were being told by the shop (trust me, I worked in retail for a long time and people hear what they want to hear).P.S. cars arent always easy to diagnose, there js no magic tool that tells anyone exactly what the issue is. It takes time and patience to do what mechanics do, and patience should be expected from customers too. I never bring my car in and go figure it out right now and expect results and a cheap bill.

Update: Ive emailed the below email, with no response. Id steer clear of this place if I were you.Bad experience with Ken, the owner, of Skyline automotive. In my dealing with the dealership, I was charged twice for their mistake, I was told to pick my car up when no one was available (nor were my keys) and was told to drop my car off at a time when the service writer was not there. The front doors were even locked (this was at 10:15am). I tried to be as patient as possible given their price was the best in town (repairing a battery on an 05 Prius), but it is now obvious as to why they were so cheap. It was a complete hassle in almost every facet. They even had to take my CC info 4 times because their computers were not working to process the card.***Make note of this*** I gave Ken ample opportunities to apologize for the mistakes his dealership made. I was only asking to not pay twice for a repair I had already paid for: but it was VERY clear that he was only interested in making a few extra dollars.Guys, we realize times are tough... but dont forget who pays your bills. The customers!!!

I bought a 2007 Subaru Imreza from Skyline Auto back in October/November... It had a few little issues, but nothing I couldnt live with at the time. Some hesitation, some little sounds, whistles, howls, etc... I did have to pay over book value - they said they poured $2000 into the car to get it ready to sell. As time went on, the little issues intensified, getting worse and worse... hesitation, no power, push the gas and not moving forward, and it also started burning oil like CRAZY! I contacted Skyline Auto and the owner pretty much told me that if I wasnt satisfied, he could send it to auction for me and then take whatever money it brought in and put it towards another vehicle he would pick out for me... remember the part where I said I paid OVER book value on the car? So - I brought it to a highly recommended auto mechanic that specializes in imports. The front catalytic converter had NO guts left in it - it totally blew all of its guts into the back catalytic converter, which totally clogged/plugged it up. The mechanic could not understand why the service light didnt come on??? So, he checked the sensor and guess what? Someone had put a spacer on the sensor, so the sensor light would not come on and let me know that there was a problem! So here are my thoughts... So - the light was on, but someone wanted to dump the car and not have to replace the catalytic converter ($700 or so to replace)... so they put the spacer on the sensor. In doing so, the front one totally blew into the back one, and instead of having to replace one, I had to replace BOTH! So... after everything was said and done, it cost me well over DOUBLE of what it would have cost to replace just one! Not happy... I did send an email to the owner of Skyline, but he has chose to ignore me. If he/his mechanic did not put the spacer on the sensor to hide the fact that the catalytic converter was bad... I guess I would question how great of a mechanic he has employed, because Skyline Auto told me that they went through the whole car and fixed everything possible. Im not sure who to go to next, but putting a spacer on a sensor to dump a problem onto another person is NOT OK! Very upset and in-debt!

Recently bought a 2009 Corolla from Skyline Auto and a couple of weeks after purchase had an issue with one of the tires. I contacted Ken (the owner) and even though they did not install the tire there he was still willing to help me out with getting a tire delivered and installed in a reasonable time. Would definitely go back to them for any future car purchases and/or service needs.

We bought a 2009 Honda Fit from Skyline with relatively low mileage. We dealt with Ken directly and he was very helpful and straight-forward in his approach. Great experience and very helpful. Alex helped answer questions that we had. Would have given a 5 star but, I’m still waiting on a call from them on how to fix my horn/airbag because the airbag light is on and the honk isn’t working. Waited a week and called, the guy said he’s looking it up right now on how to Fox’s it and will give us a call back in an hour but, another week went pass and I haven’t received a callback. The conversation that we agreed on was if it’s a inexpensive fix than the guy would fix for free at no charge but, if it’s pricey then both parties (seller and the buyer) each help half half to fix it. Will call again if I don’t get a callback by this Friday. Otherwise everything else about skyline automotive is great and had helped made everything a smooth process. Really enjoying our new family car.

We werent surprised to see that it is a busy place, with such good service and plenty of nice cars on the lot. You dont expect that buying a used car will be a good experience, but at Skyline, it was.

The Customer Service was excellent! Only down fall was the quality of the used truck that I bought from them. As soon as I bought the car 2 weeks in, Ive had to replace my front brakes, passenger hub assembly, Oil change was past due, had to put new tires on because inside tread had bald spots with steel showing. Found out I had no radiator fluid so I fill it up and find out it had a leak so had to replace that. Now when im driving at slow speed, I feel a clicking from the steering wheel . Plus I still have to replace the back brakes still. Should I keep going.... ? I have all receipts to prove this too if you dont believe me. This is the second car I bought from a small dealer ship and lesson learned . Go buy your car at a big, well known dealer ship. The truck I bought wasnt a cheap truck either. Just very disappointed on how they tell me they send out there cars to be checked before selling. Enough said . You guys get my point.

Everything was going smoothly good customer service and then I applied for a car and was told I was gonna get a call back didnt recieve a call credit WAS ran and looked online and the car was sold i get it if someone bought it out right but a quick call so I can keep searching or not have my credit ran would have been cool.

After doing a lot of research, I knew which vehicle I was looking for, It was either a Honda Accord, or a Toyota Camry. I found a 2007 Honda Accord that ended up being exactly what I was looking for on their website and spoke to Ken about it. The car was priced lower then all the others I had looked at, so I was hesitant as I was wondering what the catch was, but there was none. Just like they explained, they keep the overhead down and pass along the savings to the public. My payments ended up to be under $180 a month and that also included a 5yr. warranty!! Jason (The sales and finance manager) got me approved at a local credit union and I was in and out of there within 45-50 minutes total. I was loyal to Walser for all my vehicle purchases until now. Thanks again guys!!

What a nightmare. Dont fall for their great help and customer service; thats just BEFORE you buy a vehicle from these guys. After you have boughten a vehicle and drove off, when your car problems begin to start, good luck ever hearing from or getting ahold of them again. Mine started just under a 100 miles; and was lucky to make it home alive. Now I have $4300 worth of problems to fix that were forgotten to be mentioned, or lack of knowledge to be found. I also want to thank them for ruining my 4th of July trip I have been planning for 3 months. Due to my car purchase from them, Im spending all my money on repairs and wont be able to get my car in the shop in time to be fixed, plus no money to go anywhere anyways! These guys ruin it for all of the other HONEST and HELPFUL small dealerships. Sometimes it just takes a few unfortunate people to weed out the good from the bad so others dont have to experience the same issues.
