One of the few places that offer a VEGAN DARK HOT CHOCOLATE!!THAT IS SUPER BOMB!They also do a variety of delicious coffee ranging from simple black to all the caramels and mocha lattes. With vegan options. Havent been yet but they also have live JAZZ Friday nights. Love this spot. Havent tried any baked good or foodies but they sound good. It small but still ADA accessible. Staff is always nice and good vibes.clean facility and follow the current CDC GUIDES.
I never miss out the chance to stop here while visiting Half Moon. I asked for the seasonal pumpkin spice latte to take out to other nearby shops. First time stepping into the back room, i remain impressed and always leave jazzed.
Coffee mocha was good. They have beer and wine and desserts and salads...the jazz band was good..we sat outside
They have a great jazz theme of wall art and on most Fridays at 5:30pm they play live. I had the carrot cake, that is fantastic, I always have to get two. I got the chi tea, in a mug. It tasted great, watch out though, they let us put the cinnamon on ourselves and as usually I put too much on and inhaled when taking a sip and caughed out a cinnamon cloud. Next time I am going to try the hazelnut coffee with my carrot cake, no cinnamon.
Excellent service, delicious food, clean restroom. I really enjoyed my weekday morning getting some work done here.
We stopped for coffee around late eve - about 30 mins before shop closes. They probably served us spoilt coffee - all of us friends had severe stomach issues in the following hours. They Definitely don’t have any interest on customers health
I was w my family: wife, two daughters one pregnant with 2 years old girl and other w 9 years old girl. My niece and her husband. We got our food and NO NAPKINS. I went back and ask for napkins and rudely she gave only one. I told her look we are a big grupo can you give few more, please. Woman got a bad attitude and gave only one more.I went to talk to the person in charge telling her how rude the cashier woman “ to my surprise that she was not only her being rude but then too yelling at me “DONT YOU SEE WE ARE BUSSY HERE, letting me perplejo of all of them Bad Attitude. When we were leaving they were shouting at m in Spanish and English that we were a bunch of complainers. people. These people need to have some manners to take care of detail.Never going back there again.
Wonderful cafe latte with a warm an cozy environment. They have really good pastry as well.
Employees were not masked, which is illegal and a major health risk.We had a pre-paid order through a fun picnic event and it was not ready for a long time while we waited outside.I went in to check and I had to ask again, and the lady interrupted me and told me it was on the counter for pickup. I said she didn’t call us as promised, and she ignored me. Not sure what’s going on with her.The tea and coffee was fine.
The barista didn’t understand what I was talking about when I asked if they could make a tea latte (with a flavor other than chai), so I just ordered an iced tea. $4 for an unsweetened, medium-sized iced tea is really overpriced.Overall, the service and drinks were less than great.
Great morning stop before heading to walk to beach with the pup! The mocha and avocado toast were delightful. I order the hummus on side as I’ve never tried it on my toast and it was a great addition.
Cute cafe, very friendly staff, unique bathroom. The lemon greek soup is very tasty & the pastries look delicious.
A delicious double espresso and a fresh baked coffee cake pastry & sat outside on the sidewalk for some great people watching. I rode my bicycle to this Cafe.
Really confused about the high rating. Cashier was actually pretty rude—maybe having a bad day(??)—and they had some pretty average drinks… A small dirty chai and a medium iced tea were over $12. •_•
Place is nicely located n easy to find parking. Have great desserts n awesome coffee! Great place to stop for coffee n the service is great!
Fun place to grab a latte and people watch.
Good tea .great bathrooms when they are open. Which they had HEALTHY vegan snack options
Super nice staff!! Great coffee
Love this place. Nice people, great coffee, delicious pastry
Little expensive but omg the $4 brownie thing at the end is so good it should be illegal. Hummus could be drained a little more.
Nice coffee shop, had GF item, plus almond milk & soy milk items also. Nice lady behind the counter, only 3 people allowed at a time. Takeout only for now .
2020.11.02Cafe Society / Espresso Bar, Main Street, Half Moon Bay. The owner is a nice person; the staff when the owner was not there - terrible, horrible, and dirty! The place was full of trash when I was there. The order messed up 3 times, I had to repeat the 4th, the older woman could not listen very well..., then the long hair 30 something staff behind the counter violently put the 3 drinks on the wood, spilled some, had an attitude, and continued talking very loudly with her friend!!! Never said thank you. If you want to be served like this during the pandemic while you are kind enough to support local business, then try to be disrespected in this place. Never again! We have many good choices here!
Nice lunch, going back for the jazz
Great place! SUPER CUTE little find on Main St in HMB with character! Great coffee & couldnt resist the treats.
Really good Cappuccino!!
They don’t understand service dog laws, I think the owner (he will get REALLY mad and didn’t understand I have a disability) had a bad experience with a fake one and now real handlers are facing the consequences of it. I’m super sad, I’m a local and this is my all time favorite place, and can’t really visit anymore. I loved taking visiting friends here too.
Tasty chai, compelling art, and oh my God I love the bathroom! Its got this sort of Alice in wonderland feel, or rather you feel like you are in a situation like that where things are real but not quite real and delightfully strange. Wonderful!
Great coffee and service. So nice
This seems like a really great place and from the other reviews Im sure the product is good but I didnt get that far. The person behind the counter was rude so I left.
Loved everything about this place! Very friendly staff. Clean, cozy, and calm vibe inside. Patio seating outdoors (great for me and my doggo). I ordered a delicious latte (so many options for milk). I also ordered the guacamole and hard boiled egg toast. So so yummy!! I will be back :)
Great coffee. Lovely staff. They also have live jazz every Friday starting at 7PM!
Great coffee drinks with alternative milks and pastries that rival the local bakeries. The caramel brownie was yummy. Bohemian atmosphere with comfy tables inside and shaded garden cafe tables outside.
Nice cafe. The food is yummy and the coffee and lattes are great as well. Service is good too.
Live music on Fridays! The jazz band was perfect. Check their schedule before going, though, if you’re looking for a tranquil place to work. Prices are pretty standard for the Bay Area: latte = $4.00. Great place!
Non paying customers holding up line and they allow guests without masks. Not worth stopping by- there’s a few other coffee shops nearby
Cute little cafe with a wonderful jazz theme including jazz memorabilia on the walls and an old piano.Great large coffees and a selection of food available and in a great location on the main street with a park bench outside for relaxing. The toilet is probably the cutest Ive ever seen, situated right at the back of the store and built for Hobbits! Tall people be aware and bend low!
Great spot to meet friends, spend time alone. Food is great. Coffee great. Atmosphere warm and inviting. Staff LOVELY!!And HARPO IS THE BEST!!!😍😍😍
Nice little cafe in Half Moon Bays main business strip. There was a small ensemble playing some jazz in the backroom while we were hanging out so that was a nice touch. Friendly service, fair prices, good coffee. Cant go wrong!
Solid coffee, homey decor, and friendly staff. What more would you want?
This is a sort of place one wants to return over and over again! Very pleasant atmosphere ! Nice selection of food! Great coffee! Great Jazz Evenings on Fridays! !! Overall...the Place to visit while in Half Moon Bay! !!!
A typical coffee shop. Good coffee, good atmosphere. On a really cool street with a lot of little shops. It has outdoor seating and the indoor season is well spaced. No one likes overly Starbucks crowded seating! Some bakery items and this Cafe does have sandwiches and wine. A good place to stop.
The Quiche is very good!
Hot Chocolate with White Chocolate is highly Recommend if you don’t feel like a coffee
Love the chill atmosphere with the close-knit community vibe. Service is friendly, and i had the best blueberry muffin ever - crunchy on top and practically an entire box of berries in it! Lots of tables, sufficient plugs for charging.
Met a friend for coffee here the other day after searching for a place other then the typical franchise. Read a couple reviews and decided to try it out. Nice cozy place, friendly staff and had a great cup of organic Peruvian coffee. Jazz music in the background was not too loud so was able to converse normally. Will definitely be back!
Nice place to get a cup of coffee and pastry and relax. The halfway point for a walk through downtown Halfmoon Bay. Patio or indoor seating depending on your mood.
Super nice staff. Nice to have a cozy local coffee shop.
A cozy coffee and espresso place in downtown Half Moon Bay. Coffees and teas are fair trade and organic. They also serve homemade cookies and some healthy and simple breakfast snacks such as granola and Greek yogurt. The service was also charming and nice.
Met friends for lunch and enjoyed the atmosphere along with our food. Had the soup, delicious! Friends had croissant sandwich and ciabatta sandwich, both warm and good too!!
Wonderful coffee, wonderful Jazz music playing in the background(Miles Davis currently) all the time. The owner(Harpoe) and the staff are really friendly. Waiting for the Friday night live jazz trio that will start playing at 7pm to 9:30pm.
The blueberry crumble cake was good. Service was pleasant. If you like dark roast coffee, you may like theirs. Since I drink light roast, I was disappointed. I ordered what was supposed to be a medium roast, but found it to be dark and bitter... reminds me of that star place that I avoid.
Ok coffee and American hot chocolate (which means thin and overly sweet by European standards). Staff a bit cursory. Ambiance is not bad though and it seems to be the only decent coffee shop on main Street.
I heard about Half Moon Bay in a song and have fallen in love - and this little cafe made the whole trip for me. A great bit of jazz, fantastic coffee, rich cake and wonderful service. 👌🏼
No power outlets. Didnt stay long enough to find out anything else. I looked around and found only one outlet which wasnt accessible and told by an empoyee that was the only one. See picture titled backroom and you will the only outlet available which wasnt usable w/o an ext. cord.
Great cozy spot to have a hot coffee and treat and catch up with friends.
A very comfortable Cafe. Jazz nights on Friday are great.
We had the cafe mochas and even though the chocolate you could taste just how great the coffee was.
Very best venue for great Jazz and, importantly, great people. Hero, the owner, its just one of a kind host. He makes the difference to the HMB community by bringing culture and social network on lovely Friday evenings. Try it...dont miss it
Good coffee. Small cafe which is packed normally
I only ever get drinks here but the service is very friendly and the sitting area is nice.
He did an amazing job with the renovation. He pays his employees well and makes it an awesome spot to socialize or get some work done. Perfect painting or book and tea spot.
Such a fantastic little café with the best lattes I all of half moon bay and a very friendly staff. The food is So delicious (i love the banana bread!) and freshly baked. One manager even made a ham and cheese croissant for the boy i babysit because he was so looking forward to it which was a very nicw gesture :)Thanks!i hope to visit on Friday night for jazz night one of these weeks.
Friendly staff. Delicious food. Great vibes
Best latte I’ve had for a bit!
In downtown Half Moon Bay.Good coffee, relaxing space.Try the soup or Coffee Cake !
Iced mocha was great-not too sweet, not to bitter, not too thick, perfect for a warm day.
My favorite Cafe in downtown Half Moon Bay, they also regularly have live music from local artists, which caught me by surprise while I was in there a few times, a real treat, plus its a really friendly place, staff are great, love it! ... and oh yeah, the coffees great too!
Best Coffee shop on the coast! Amazing staff, food and drinks.
Its a cute little cafe with art on the walls and fresh baked goods to go with a pretty long menu of coffee items. The mocha I had was tasty and we enjoyed looking at the art on the walls.
Cozy, local scene. Decent coffee. A little too noisy when busy, but ideal when at less than full capacity, or sitting in the back room.
Best local coffee shop in HMB. Staff and owner are fantastic. Check out the jazz on Friday nights
Cozy place! Super yummy salmon bagel - a must!
This old place has its unique style. Almond milk latte? Not too bad.
Old school cafe. From scratch made bakery goodies and soups. Great sandwiches. Best spot for breakfast in HMB
Ordered decaf latte and almond croissant to go. Both were disappointing. Latte tasted really weak, definitely not enough espresso and almond croissant lacked almond which made it all pointless. 3 stars because the ambiance looked good and croissant was ok as a butter one, not an almond one.
I really love this cafe)) the perfect coffee, a cozy place, a nice stuff))
Had a latte here, it was much larger than I was expecting, but average in taste. There are lots of tables to work on, but the layout is a bit squished. Multiple times the person sitting behind me bumped my chair as they exited.
Great soups and coffee. Nice seating inside and out. Friendly!
The staff is quite rude and the coffee is mediocre. The woman at the counter weirdly was VERY aggressive toward me when after I complained because they made me the wrong drink. Pro tip: check that they ring up your order right and are not sneakily overcharging you.
Very nice vibe and pleasant service. Coffee was pretty nice as well.
I like this place and their amazing gluten free banana bread!
Decent half moon bay offering. Espresso was fine. Food was premade. Chaotic layout, makes the ambiance unpleasant when things get busy.
We stop here to charge our mobile. To our surprise we found a great Café with jazz music.Amazing Chai latte. Quiet and healthy atmosphere.
Pastry is excellent. Quiet and can get crowded on the weekends.
Cute place, nice staff. I had a cold brew coffee and the turkey sandwich. Both just right!
Has a great local feel to it. Very happy I stopped over for a cappuccino.
