We are extremely happy with the work that Azad did for a family heirloom - a very large, hand knotted, Karastan wool rug - 90 years old (20x12). The rug needed cleaning and had several sections with serious damage. I was stunned with the beautiful work they did! We are so pleased!! A large tear was rewoven and several smaller ones. And an entire corner needed to be rebuilt, you can see the before and after photos. Years ago, I had done a very poor, amateur binding job to stop the loss of wool at the destroyed corner. Their weaver used matching wool, and hand knotted many additional centimeters. Its hard to even tell that the work is not original. Then the entire rug was rebound. It was not inexpensive, but the work was superior. I highly recommend them. They also had great communication, answering my calls and texts and keeping me updated about progress.
I bought a carpet when I visited Turkey. It had gotten quite soiled. I took it to Azads. Dr. Azad was very nice and showed me other equally beautiful rugs. I picked my rug up today and it looks beautiful. They did a wonderful job cleaning it. It looks exactly as it did when I first bought it. I have other carpets from Turkey, and will be visiting them again soon. What a wonderful experience.
It was horrible...I went into azads rugs and tried to buy a rug. When I spoke to azad he was very rude and wouldn’t let me speak. I asked for a red colored rug and he wouldn’t be quiet and kept offerening blue rugs. After I finally said yes to a blue rug so he would shut up, he raised the price of the rug. I told him I wanted a red rug not a blue one but he insisted that I buy this one. So I pulled out my wallet and he just grabs my credit card and swiped it so fast I didn’t even get to think about my purchase. As soon as he gives me my card back he’s rushing his workers to put the rug into my car. Never again would I buy from here.
I bought a rug a while back and it took a while to ship to my house... when I finally got the rug I was happy to see it, but I wasn’t happy to see a dead mouse rolled up in the rug. I wouldn’t recommend buying from “Azads Rugs”
Best place to buy rugs on the whole east coast! A very knowledgeable man. He knows his Rugs. Cool experience
Horrific experience! I had two rugs cleaned that had dog urine in them and the estimate was $300. I showed up to drop the rugs off and the door was locked. I had to call the store and they then asked me to come downstairs, instead of them just coming up and unlocking the main entrance. After entering, the owner who was assisting me took over five minutes to find a singular piece of paper as he scoured all over the his own store. Then I came to pick them up after I was told they were ready to be picked up and the store was closed, although the online hours had claimed that they were open. After all of this I came the next day to pick up the rugs and the owner of the store raised the price from our agreed upon $300 to $350!! The rate was already ridiculous, but since there are no other rug cleaning stores in the area, I had no choice. The rugs were returned to me with an awful odor which left my car and part of my house smelling just like the entire store, quite a horrible smell. This place is an utter rip off and performs mediocre work. They exploit the lack of competition in the area though their careless work, disorganization and ability to take advantage of customers. AVOID AZAZS ORIENTAL RUG EMPORIUM AT ALL COSTS!!!
