Great service!! The willingness to go the extra mile really stands out. I was able to order a keg of my favorite Octoberfest beer, SPATEN!! I called, they ordered it and I had it within 4 days of the phone call! (This beer is extremely hard to get as a regular joe smoe consumer, but they got it!!!) What a diamond in the rough beer store. I wasnt expecting the level of selection out here rustled in the suburbs of Hagerstown. They might have literally every beer that can distributed to Maryland. Plenty of local selections, less than 30 mins away, and statewide breweries as well. Not to mention big bottles that are to die for. I only had 30 mins in the store and I used most of that to be in awe of the sheer selection. I found Heavy Seass Greaterer pumpkin there. Not even in Frederick could I find that seasonal. Yet there it was. Going into the fall, they have plenty of seasonals to meet your needs. Oktoberfest, pumpkin ales, Brown ales, dark lagers or Schwartzbier, and stouts. The icing on the cake? They do crowlers to go. Yup. Ask for the tap list or take a step into the create your own 6pack cooler and right there next to the door youll see the premade crowlers of everything on tap.I am so happy I found this place near my parents new home. This is an instant must see everytime I visit.Ooooohhhhh and I totally forgot to mention they have a huge wine and liquor selection. Its about half the stores worth. Customer service is phenomenal here! I came looking for Yuenglings Hershey Porter and a good pumpkin ale (the Jack-O one from Sam Adams was terrible in my opinion!). The gentleman helped me find both beers I was looking for right away and even gave me amazing recommendations. They have soooo many beer options. Ill definitely be a return customer!

This store is a quarter of a mile from my home, they have a very fine selection of alcoholic beverages. The owner is a very nice young guy who will go out of his way to help you get what you want, if he doesnt have it he will order it for you and you will have it in a few days. I believe this to be the best liquor store in town.

I have been coming to the Wooden Keg for years, I always thought it was a gold mine for local craft beers, hard to find imports and craft speciality bottles.They even have growler and crowler fills with some pre-fills in the cooler. I could literally spend hours here! I also find it to have a decent selection of local, commercial and speciality liquors, my only gripe is the tequila section is a bit limited.However recently I feel management must have changed or there has been some turnover because customer service is absent unless you are paying, pricing practically non-existent, and worse I have found numerous beers more than a year old! (Not just BA stouts mind you)The worst thing is finding an awesome selection, spending 20+ minutes browsing only to get to the counter and find your DBL IPA is 8mos old and rings (if they can find it in the system) at a whopping $25! That is a waste of my time, period.I understand price marking for rarity and limited releases but the last time I bought beer here my receipt showed a unit price for a 4pk. Meaning they are not adding different UPCs for single sales vs. pack sales, which either means they are price gouging or incompetent.Its sad because I really want to support this local business but it consistently gives me more headache than buzz. So until they can help support the customers better Im looking elsewhere.

Great place for rare products and good prices

Its like being a kid in a candy store! This place has a really great variety of anything you could want, and the staff are usually pretty knowledgeable and always helpful. If they dont have something I want, Ive always been able to order it with no problem. I have not had a chance to try the new growler station, but thats a pretty nice addition. I live in WV but come here because the prices and selection are significantly better than anything in Martinsburg (Im looking at you Penn and Big Apple). I miss the times when Joe was running the place, but the staff have done a great job of keeping it great.

Our experience at Wooden Keg was not a good one. There were issues with delivery of the alcohol that we were not advised of for our daughters wedding. The clerk became condescending when he insisted my credit card was cancelled. My bank corrected him and he wad rude with my bank as well. The clerk used profanity and used gestures. I appreciate the Manager who will take proper steps considering the situation. I hope the clerk in question is trained in appropriate customer service.

Great variety! Virtually every domestic beer, many craft beers, and a wide selection of foreign choices. (Caution: many prices are not clearly marked, and some imports are WILDLY priced!) Beer cave has really cold, but mostly domestic beers. Plenty of wine and hard liquor choices as well. Employees know where all the goods are, but may not be reliable for taste recommendations. (One employee choice involved some sort of spiked Gatorade...) If you are not familiar with Maryland laws, no alcoholic beverages are sold in grocery stores, so youll have to go to a specialty shop. Just go here.

The wooden keg has a wonderful selection of wines liquors and beer. The location is always clean and well organized. You can always stop in and pick up a couple lotto tickets or scratch off’s. The staff is extremely knowledgeable about the products that they have and can give great detail on your wine selection. If they don’t have what you’re looking for they may order it for you. It is located right across the street from Yinglings golf Center.

It is a great place to go for all your specialty liquors. They keep a good supply of anything you might need and a variety of new brews,wine and liquors to try. Ever since moving to Hagerstown a little over a year ago this has been my go-to liquor store. The beer selection is unreal for how small of a place it is. It may seem overwhelming at first but take your time to look around. They have a vast selection of beer including a nice vintage selection. Wine a liquor selection is also good however I primarily go here for the beer.

This is my first ever review about any business, but I felt compelled to write one for the Wooden Keg. I’ve been to liquor stores all over the States and in Europe, and the Wooden Keg, more specifically Jake and Sensei are the best, bar none. Two really excellent guys that have been there for me on my tough days and days of celebration. I can’t stress enough their friendliness and amiability. The community loves these two and it’s evident, I stopped by on Thanksgiving day and witnessed two patrons bring several plates of food for Sensei, this speaks volumes. The management, however, has little idea of proper and standard work and business practices, especially regarding the treatment of their employees. Management, do yourself a favor and familiarize yourself with the moral and proper way to treat your employees with respect and dignity. You might infuse the Wooden Keg with capital and perform elementary business operations and accounting practices but the treatment of your employees is truly despisable. Do better.

I was looking for an ABC store Friday night June 6, 2019 and was literally second to the last guy before closing. Mind you I only had about 3-4 mins before 11:00 p.m. The staff said, Hello and let me be I knew I wanted something German or my Stella Artois I decided patiently and no rush, harassment or push from the staff with can I help you out or were about to close. Thank you for letting me decide which beer I wanted and I am glad you were able to get another happy paying customer HELLL YESSS I recommend going to them for your Beer, Alcohol & Spirits. I wil definitely return there earlier than before closing next time for sure :)

It was way better under previous owners. The previous owners tasted all the beer and knew what was good.

Lots of beers. I like German wheat light/darks. Belgium Lambics, Krieks, Gueuze, Trappist, and sours. Plenty of choices here.

The staff is always friendly and its quick to get in and out....and when I wanted a specific brand of vodka they were quick to offer to order it and call when it came in. And they did!

Its a mixed bag at The Wooden Keg. They do have a great selection, but the liquor must pay the bills for the most part. I stopped there Wednesday and picked up a bunch of stuff. Got some great, fresh Firestone Walker in cans, but also got old cans of Molotov Lite (hops mainly gone, all malt and sweetness) a 2013 bottle of Matts Burning Rosids (not properly aged/stored, all smoke was gone and it tasted nothing like it should) and a bottle of Southern Tier Gemini that also had zero hops left. Dont get me wrong, I like the place, Ill probably stop there again... However I know now that you have to be sure to check dates on bottles whenever available, and Ill be wary of buying any IPAs there without a date stamp.

A beer lovers nirvana. So far the only place not only in the immediate four state region but the greater DMV where I can find my favorite local brews along side Lambics and legit Trappist Ales. They have a better selection of kegs than the average corner store offers for craft brews.
