Just finished paying for it and I gotta tell you, the manager, Barron Thomas, is your man for an awesome deal! I couldnt be happier with how this all worked out. The store staff rocks too and is very helpful and friendly. STILL 5 stars!!
Come here if you’d like to spend $1,500 on a TV that you don’t have procession of. Not only will they blur the lines of the “same as cash” price to ensure you pay more, but they sell faulty items. Not even a year into ownership, all three items I purchased have stopped working. After begging to receive district’s number for months, I finally got it. I was assured that my TV would be fixed promptly. It took several months for Jodi tourist come pick up the TV. The pickup date was December 28, 2020 and I have still yet to receive my TV four months later. I call at least once a week, hoping for some update but one is never offered. Shortly after releasing the TV back to Rent-A-Center, the washer and dryer I purchased stopped working. The dryer will not turn on at all and the washer’s auto sensing feature failed. I have called multiple times to speak to the manager, Jodi, who is never available. Unless district is breathing down his neck, he is unwilling to assist in anyway. I have been in the store countless times where they let their children run around and bash other customers even when you are there with a compliant. Only a staff member named Jason shares any empathy for the situation, but with his lack of authority, he is unable to help in the way he wants. In summary, this is some of the worst customer service I have ever received. They con people into spending more for items than they are worth and then make it complicated for any resolutions to be found.
I highly recommend this store. Jody did an awesome job with me, very patient and willing to explain whatever you have questions with. This is my second purchase and I’ve dealt with him twice. Very nice, yet not pushy, but definitely will make the purchase process run smoothly for you. If he would ever leave, I’d take my business elsewhere.
Our experience started off very rocky. We rented a washer while ours is being serviced. It came a day late to start with. We didnt even try using it for a couple days...when we did, the machine wouldnt power on. Was some back and forth over the phone about when it was to be replaced. The Manager just quit 20 minutes before our call and they were short handed. After talking to Jason there. He expressed his sincere apologies about the equipment and service issues. He really stepped up and over exceeded his resolution promises and had another washer there minutes after getting home from work the next day. He offered and we accepted a two week creditFor the hassle. Thanks Jason. And wish you luck in regards to your future development at the store.
Everytime i go into this rent a center i get greated. I been getting from bedroom mattresses to tvs and such had a issue with the whirl pool washer the employees was great and on top of it they got a tech to come out to fix ot was very pleased. Still not a fan of the masks. I would rent a self cutting lawn mower if the company would get them in would help on time tremendously. Very happy with all the employees that work there i would give 8 stars if i could. Keep up the great work. I will be getting more stuff later on. I would recommend this rent a center on eastern blvd.
How in the hell they have a 3.5 I dont know. Its one thing to make money but to rip people off thats another thing. And thats exactly what that place does to people.
I will never deal with this place again. I have had nothing but issues. I lost my job due to the pandemic and they didnt want to offer me no help. Only giving me 5 days to pay or there coming to get the merchandise. I think Im better off going to Aarons!

This was the first time I’ve ever utilized this type of business but we did think we found a good deal on a washer/dryer set that we found online on their website but the first issue was that the down payment deal that the was promoted online was not the deal given, the price on the used set was more than the advertised online price for the brand new set and we were paying for the insurance. We had an issue with an awful smell coming from the washer immediately after the cycle finished so my girlfriend contacted rent a center and the salesman she spoke with said he had the same model and he had that issue and gave her instruction to do a spin & drain after each load which did help for a little while but then the entire house would begin to smell so we called to get a new set and our representative said she’d handle it, almost 2 weeks later they call for a missed payment and we said oh no we aren’t making another payment on this equipment and where’s the new set and they had simply forgotten. I understand that happens so we let it go and just to add, up to this point we made every payment over the phone every Thursday and the due date was Saturday.... we never did get the new set and we had 2 losses in our family during this time and had 3 family members with the flu, had made an arrangement to come into rent a center to figure out what was happening with our new washer and dryer and spoke with them almost every day during these few weeks and was not asked to make a payment not one time but was asked to come in to choose a new washer and dryer; all the sudden we get a call threatening us on a Friday evening, allowed them to come get the smelly set the following day under the understanding that we were getting a new set which by the way we had to pay way more money for and then the manager never fulfilled his part of the agreement and was the rudest person I’ve ever dealt with in my life so we found an amazing deal on a Samsung washer and dryer brand new with Aaron’s furniture that is less than we paid for a junk generic set at rent a center.UPDATE: I received a call from RAC and they did offer me a credit and they just delivered a new set today so I am happy that they are attempting to fix this issue.
Really helpful people. Bigger selection of furniture would be nice. They are willing to work with you. I rented a touchscreen laptop to see if i wanted to buy.
My boyfriend and I first discovered Rent A Center in Morgantown, WV. Over the period of a year we successfully purchased a 65 inch flatscreen, a PlayStation 4, and 7 piece living room set. We did this through their “6 months same as cash” promise. It wasn’t until moving to Hagerstown, MD that we started having issues. We decided to rent a new flat screen and a washer/dryer for our new apartment. The dryer we purchased had blue marks all over it. We were promised that the marks would be fixed before receiving the item. On delivery day the washer and dryer were delivered with the marks untouched. I called the store and spoke with a a manager that insisted no one would have promise to remove the marks because they are permanent. Although extremely upset, we decided to let this go. We kept calling in to check on the weeks till we reached the 6 months, making sure we didn’t go over the same as cash period. It wasn’t until January that we found out we had been signed up for a four months same as cash and missed the date. Completely ignoring their motto for 6 months same as cash. They tacked on an insane amount of interest. Long story short, I’d buy my furniture and electronics from a junk yard before I’d ever give them my business again.

They are as ratchet as they come. Their store manager talked to my special needs child in a threatening tone of voice and when I said Id fight a grown man over my child he became a pansy! Take your business to another location. This place is UNPROFESSIONAL and corporate is already aware!
These people are kind, professional, and use good manners even when folks act like its an insult when RAC asks for pymt. They are ALWAYS helpful and willing to work with me when $ is tight.Be thankful, pay your bill, use your social skills. Utilize the advantages of already having your wants/needs met when you already have the goodies!
One star is too generous for this location. Ashley and Carrie are the two people that you need to be wary of. Carrie will try to over charge on payments, most likely to line her pocket. Ashley will defend her actions. If I were corporate, id be watching those two very closely. They both lied to my wife over the phone. We wont be going to the 79 Eastern Blvd. location in hagerstown md. ever again. Well most likely deal with Aarons. I highly recommend that everyone save their money and time, and use other means of getting merchandise. Hopefully, corporate will remove the two who I mentioned in this review.
Star was awesome! She worked with me and had awesome customer service! Sad she had to leave.This time around almost all the employees are rude and lack customer service skills. Recently found out one of them is the new manager. She is so unprofessional and disrespectful. I cant even believe she got that title. It got to the point i didnt even want to rent from them anymore because i dreaded dealing with the people. Id reccomend going to aarons or another rent a center location.
