Started as a fairly unique experience but now it has plenty of competition in the area. Great pastries, good drinks. Really should be 4.5 but that rounds up anyway. My wife loves the jasmine milk tea. I love the pastries like garlic cheese bread and the interesting short term items.

I worked here for 4 yrs as a chef / Baker when this place first opened..mostly college students working here part time.. As a European Baker of breads & pastries from Germany/ Belgium,, I had to learn how to make a variety of bakery goods from roots of Taiwan.. Very different styles & ingredients, I must say 85° is more a meal type of bread,,with hotdogs, bacon, taro & red bean to name a few of their fillings, they also have great tasting cakes with a variety of creams as Tiramisu, Black Forest which are European.several brulee flavors also European.. their assortment of teas hot or cold are very good such as green & black tea flavors. Delicious slushes like mango, tea flavors and my favorite Taro slush.The coffees are amazing.. my fav. Is a large sea salt coffee (cold) I recommend. Great staff and manager.Today is more pleasant to visit,, it used to be a long wait to get or find your favorite yummies because when it first opened this place was jus grid lock & overwhelming crowded..I recommend to try their chocolate chip bowls, berrytails, mocha bread,, Cranberry Walnut bread,, Taro swirls & pork sun roll .

First time in here. Its very spacious. Very clean. As you walk in they have all the refrigerated cakes and cheesecakes and tarts. They also have a big variety of birthday style cakes, all sorts of fruit flavors, mango, guava, strawberry.As I walked to the other side of the shop, I was greeted by the pastry/bread section. They have a wide variety of breads. You grab a pair of thongs and you can choose from danishes, rolls, sweet breads.I went with the potato bread and the cream cheese bread cost for both was 3.80 not bad. Flavor was good, tasted freshly baked. I like it. Ill be back

They always have something new to try! Soooo many options and everything is baked to perfection. This is our go to spot for cakes. They have cake slices as well a variety of dessert and pastries so you can try a little bit of everything while enjoying your favorite coffee, tea, boba or espresso drink. Staff is very nice and knowledgeable on all the goods the sell. If in doubt choose the brioche.

Excellent by the employees. Customers not so much. If you want to practice social distance you have to keep yourself away from them. Some of them just dont care. All they care about is the delicious food.

Stood in line for 29 minutes and watched 5 people behind the counter chat, bump into each other and ignore customers standing at the counters, myself included. No one was directing traffic and there are no signs where to go to get online so people were stepping over each other. All I wanted was a piece of cake for desert tonight for me and the family. Just not worth the wait and as you can see in the other reviews it’s an ongoing problem, but no one cares obviously so it doesn’t get fixed.

Amazing bakery! Everything is so light and fresh, fluffy and delicious! The beverages are amazing, as well.

Been to other bakeries, but nothing like this one! The walnut sesame bread was my absolute favourite! I regretted not getting at least 2 more! Definitely going back!

This is the best bakery ever anywhere. Their selection of pastries is unbelievable, their low prices are amazing and they even have a amazing selection of cakes/gateaux. The lines are never short but always move very fast. Shame the dont have any in Arizona but on the other hand it may be better that way!

I ordered egg tarts. They gave me the left over egg tart from yesterday. They even have the old day tags on it. Disgusting! Dishonesty!

After awhile, the buns all taste the same- sweet, maybe except the hotdog ones. They added boba drinks and the facilities look pretty clean, but they need some shades on the windows from the sun nowadays.

4 words: Sea. Salt. Iced. Coffee. Located 2 min off the Azusa exit on the 60, this bakery has some great drinks, pastries, and desserts. My main gripe with this location is the cleanliness, I feel like every time I dine in I have to flag someone down to bus the table.

Best boba drinks ever

Nowadays you go into a cafe/bakery and want to order a drink but you see that $4/$5 charge and instead want to scream internally but you dont because its not good for your colon. So, you let all that chi out and you go to 85c is what you do. You get buns to soothe your soul. You look up the menu to see some sweet deals. You snag said sweet deals. And then you realize they have a limit for a reason. And you just keep coming back like its the ex you never got over.

Friendly staff and great selection and you can tell that their pastries are delicious JUST by looking at them. And most importantly, they are!

The bread/ pastry selection and ice coffee are simply the best.

Had some great Jalapeno Cheese rolls and some cream cheese pastry. Lots of cakes and pastry that look delicious as well as a broad selection of drinks. I fell in love with the iced salted caramel coffee.

Purchased a cake in the display, and sat and waited for about 10 minutes while people wandered around pretending to sweep. Was pretty entertaining, thus the stars, but seriously how long does it take to put a cake in a box? Only happened once I asked one of the seemingly lost employees if he could help lol. Good times.

Yum! The chocolate cookie bread and marble taro do not have eggs! They are delicious. Also tried their caramel macchiato with soy, also very good! I would definitely go back.

The brioche bread is life, sweet but not too sweet. Quick, efficient, and friendly.

Pastries are decent, but not exceptional. After a while, they all taste similar. Their coffee is a niche style, very strong and bitter. You need to add lots of milk and sugar to make it palatable, which then makes it taste like milk, sugar and bad coffee flavor. They also offer a salt coffee which is also odd to me, but seems popular with a segment of customers. 85C coffee is no comparisonn at all to specialty coffee roasters and cafes.

I absolutely love this place. Good drinks, great desserts. Only probably is, they didnt have enough bread options when we went. Im not sure if its because we went at 9pm, so Im going again during the day. Red velvet cheesecake is amazing

Sadly to give it a one star. I used to love 85c so much that I would drive 40 minutes to the Irvine original location and stood in line for 30minutes for their bread. I used to buy boxes full of their breads to share with friends. Lately I noticed the quality has gone way down. The mable bread has no marble, the mocha bread looked liked someone has munched on the sides. The bathroom was a total mess. I walked away empty handed. I said my goodbyes.

Had a bad experience. An indecent person had gone into the store, put their hands on some of the breads and put them back, and ate some of the breads and left it on their tray, and when called out they left. I reported it to the manager, but their response was slow. I sat down to watch what they would do as I ate my meal that I purchased. It took at least 10 minutes before they came back out from checking security camera footage to remove the bread that had been touched. In the meantime a significant number of people had been browsing and its unknown to me if any of them had bought any of the handled breads, there was also no staff preventing anyone from purchasing anything that may possibly have been contaminated. I wish I had recorded it that day because thats not excusable for food service.

Taro Marble bun! Coffee bun too! Both always piping hot!This location is huge compared to the Irvine location. There are enough tables to actually have a relaxing experience, rather than hovering over people hoping they would vacate their tables like the Irvine location.The line may seem long, but it moves fairly fast. I was able to get in and out within 10 minutes even though the line was at least 15 people deep.

Wait is too long and frustrating for an average tasting drink. Waited 15 minutes for a lemon black tea which is barely warm. Pastry is also not what it used to be especially for a long wait at cashier. Pastry has no individual wrap and dont know how long they have been sitting on the self service shelf.

Beautiful pastries! Perfect for any occassion that needs a wow factor for desserts. Almost too pretty to eat.

Nice place to have a coffee, sit outside and talk. Bread is so good and the service is fast. I like the attention that one employee gave us. She was very friendly and I definitely go again.

Good food. Its best to come in early before the lunch and dinner rushes, other wise the selection gets scarce fast and the lines are long.

Amazingly flavorful sweet bread. I kept hearing about this place and finally tried it out. It definitely lived up to the hype. If you get the chance to get a fresh one off the tray DO IT. You will love it. Be adventurous, you cant go wrong.

I mostly go only for the boba smoothies specially the marble taro is really good.

Why would I go anywhere else. Their bread and cake is always so good and within a reasonable price.I havent had anything here not to my liking; however, I will said to stay away from their drinks.Their tea, boba, coffee and so on...is nothing special. In true, it is very bad. Stay far away from the drinks.It is a bakery after all, they are not known for their drinks. However, it is on their menu. I will remove a start-rating for it.The service here are very fast. And their bathroom is very clean as well.Come and try their breads and cakes.

This is the nicest 85 degrees we have visited, and we have been there many times. Watch those calorie labels. They need to offer more healthy treats, and cappuccino.

Been coming to here for years. The bread is fresh (as they always yell that out when they bring out a new batch), and their desserts are good but not extraordinary. Sea salt iced coffee is amazing. I like how they hire diverse employees (i.e., not all Chinese), which sends a good message that they want to appeal to the local community.

They have a lot of the same bread throughout their display, seems like a lot of variety, but its not. Quality is good, their drink standard is not my favorite. I go anywhere else around there for drinks at that standard for those cost, but its convenient when youre there.

I really enjoyed the taro sweet bun! All the breads are great and at an extremely good value!It gets a little cramped when you get your bread when its busy, but otherwise its easy to get the bread.They have both savory and sweet breads, and YES you have to try their sea salt coffee!They are a chain, but if youve never tried it before, then you need to, its life changing :)

It was ok, not as good as in Taiwan but this is the closest I can find in north America.

Personally, I prefer the Irvine location. The bread seems to be more consistently made there, however, you can imagine how thrilled I was to find out 85C was coming to my city! I am a savant of taro, and this place is no exception. Their taro breads are so incredibly tasty and addicting. Once you start, you cant stop. And most of the time, the taro bread is the first to go. Get them fresh and warm for the best taste ever!!

I love this 85C. Baked goods are very good and quite cheap compared to most places in LA county.Good boba, too.Only qualm with this place is the obscene amount of plastic that they go through.

A wonderful bakery and cafe specializing in breads, cakes and coffee. Come here if you are craving BREAD. The have a wide variety of sweet and savoury breads and pastries, all baked fresh daily.Despite the occassional crowds, the staff is very fast and efficient.

This review is for their sea salt mountain tea. The tea is flavourful, smooth and not overly sweet. Also, good value for its price and size.

Great place to grab some Taiwanese pastries and a drink. When you walk in, theres a whole load of pastries to choose from. Just grab a tray and tongs, and pile away. You have a lot of drinks to choose from, too, from iced tea, boba, coffee drinks. Theyre known for their sea salt drinks - can I just say YUM! Writing this review is making me want to make a quick run there now.

Horrible customer service. The cashier didnt care about the long line in valentines night and just gave attitude to the customers who were complaining. She even didnt bother to ask for help until she screwed up with a transaction and the store manager found out about the mess. The stores management is awful by hiring such rude staff. Not recommended at all.

Its a cool hip place to go get some tea & bread. Theres a lot of breads that have different flavors. I havent tried all of the breads but the garlic bread, white chocolate bread, hot dog cheese bread are all delicious.

My familys go-to spot for cakes. You can see them making their cakes fresh in the corner of the store, and each one Ive tried is delicious. The iced sea salt jasmine tea is amazing too!

Amazing chinese bakery, always fresh, sells huge volumes every day. Great drinks, try sea salt coffee. Prices have gone up literally 5 cents per item, steadily, each and every month. Its gotten a lot less affordable and keeps rising because its just a good place.

This is our go to spot. We loves the cuteness and the fact that we can get our bread AND dessert fix here.-1.5 stars: Only wish that they had dairy/milk free options. Literally everything contains every allergen. This leaves my little one with no choices food wise but the MANGO SLUSH she can have...which is DEEEliscious.

My wifes favorite 85C. While we stayed near by, I walked every morning and bought her favorite baked good. I tried something different every time and the quality was uniformly excellent

Used to be super long lines, now a lot more manageable. the bread and pastry are always fresh, since theres a lot of foot traffic. the brioche and the taro loaf is excellent. as for drinks, her the rock salt green tea
