One of the best Goat biryanis, avoid chicken tad too dry

This is THE BEST INDIAN FOOD ON THE PLANET! I’ve eaten Indian food all over the world… and no place has come close to the amazing dishes I’ve Always gotten here! (FYI: I’m a vegan, and their Chickpea Masala is to die for!)They are also the NICEST restaurant owners I have ever met! They’ve always treated me to special samples, free entrees, and menu suggestions… We’d have world peace if these people could run the planet!I can’t begin to recommend this restaurant enough… The interior is humble, but it makes the beauty of the food and people all the more amazing!10 stars out of 5!!!!!!

Very rude. I got lamb beryani and was kind of cold. It’s not fresh as usual and he said it’s fresh. Very disappointed for being their customer since 2019 and that make nothing to them.VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE.

I just opened Sterling Cabaret & Event Center next door and decided to try them. I have never eaten Indian cuisine or lamb. They are awesome and the lamb is delightful. Definitely a place I will be eating on a regular basis. Fast, friendly and worth every dime. Yummmm!!!

So got the chicken biryani i am been searching for the actual Hyderabadi biryani for a while in Indianapolis but i think my search is now successful with a winner. Perfectly cooked rice which are flavorful and aromatic. balance spices and nicely cooked meat. I am definitely going to try other food and update.

We tracked down Mumbai Grill, in search of Indian food, on the very last day of our Road Trip.Its an Indian/Pakistani restaurant and without a doubt, their knack is Lamb delicacies. It was perfectly cooked, the gravy was spiced and had all the authentic flavors.Our order also consisted of Samosa Chaat, Dal Makhani and Garlic Naan.Samosa Chaat was a bit too dry but tasted good. Dal makhani was just ok, wasnt at all creamy.The Garlic naan was super soft and delicious.Their staff is friendly and the restaurant wasnt too busy either.Ample parking space including accessible parking.#RoadTrip5 #SmokeyMt

We stopped on our way to Chicago from Luisville for a take away. Goat korma was delicious. Samosa chat was ok so was dal makhni.they have plenty of seating and a strange meat shop right in the restaurant.The place could be a bit cleaner than it is, but overall the food was satisfactory. I would stopby again if i take that route.

Not really set up to serve the general public, cheap tables, no decor, lazy apathetic service. This is a restaurant that clearly coasts on 80%of the clientele being friends, family, and associates. No reason to visit, food is just acceptable.

Food is good nut they dont ask you if you need anything during eating. Also, the chairs are upside down on the table and this doesnt look welcoming at all. Even if they doing this cuz of covied, there are plenty of ways to tell the customer that this table is not for use. The place also is soo dark, more light are needed

The place itaelf isnt much to look at, but it was clean. We liked the food. I had goat briyini and my husband had a chicken dish. We also ordered tandorri naan. I would rate this place higher, but we had a few issues.1) When we came in we didnt realize we were to seat ourselves.2) Workers were sitting in the dining room on their phones.3) We discovered rice is NOT included with the meal, it needs to be ordered separately.4) The server(s) never really checked on us. We had to ask for a water refill.5) We didnt know who brought the bill. Apparently, you pay at the front.6) There are no drinks on the menu but there are some at a case by the door.7) There were bones in my food which made it a kittle hard to eat around. It was still yummy, just awkward.Overall, we would eat the food again. Most likely in a take out situation. Its worth giving it a try.

Probably the worst restaurant Ive encountered in all my time here. The Goat Paya was literally (not making this up) a pool of oil, enough to tempt the USA to invade it. There was no meat. Just fatty chunks attached to bones. Dogs get fed better. My day was ruined and my disappointnent immeasurable.

Halal food. If you want to taste deshi style spicy food, I think this is the best place to visit. I went there with my friends and ordered goat paya, naan, and plain rice. Everything was really good. Specially the goat paya was superb. I really enjoyed. Good services.

Great food and customer service, Had Butter chicken, Chicken Biryani, Goat Biryani and other BBQ items and everything was great, Naans also served warm and soft, I can eat their food everyday just awesome.

I’m reviewing the butcher NOT the restaurant. I visited the first time and the service was poor but I gave them a second chance,I went today and both the cashier and the butcher were really rude and lacking hospitality and told me I can’t see what kind of meat that I will buy!! and it will take 25 minutes!!! And the place was empty I was the only customer.I canceled my order and went to Mecca market where they know how to treat their customers and choose my meat and took it in less than five minutes. I will never be back to this place. I wouldn’t recommend going to Mumbai grill for the butcher.

This place serves tasty food but the staff are very terrible especially the person at cash counter with Cap. I ordered chicken meat for takeout when i went for pick up I was shocked to see that they packed chicken waste(skin, blood and ulgy stuff) in a separate bag and gave it to me, when i questioned the person at front desk that who would take the chicken waste like that ‘he started to threaten me not to raise my voice’. The staff has extremely arrogant and has a very bad attitude towards customers, do not go this place.

Decent food, the chicken was a little overdone but good flavor. Glad I got my son his first real indian meal, fun experience. I was thrown off when an employee sprayed the restaurant with air freshener deodorizer. Obviously not something you want to feel like you’re eating (and for obvious health reasons-toxic). Would have been a better experience without that, kind of scrambled out after. And they were NOT cleaning so I don’t want to see that response. Lol Just air deodorizer spraying with very high fragrance. Just wanted to share so maybe this wouldn’t happen again. Thanks!

I went there two times specially today I have order 9 chicken kathi rolls I have pay them $98 and ask them for little extra white sauce and the guy told me you need to pay extra I am totally surprised like you spend almost $100 bucks and they even don’t care about giving you some extra sauce. Guys don’t go there they are rude don’t know how to serve customers very disappointed from them

Im a long time Southsider and foodie who is glad the world has come to this side of town. I enjoy Indian and other ethnic foods. At Mumbai youll find a robust menu with many options to choose from, perfect for an explorer who wants to try different things.I have tried three different dishes in three consecutive weeks and Ive been impressed with the flavor and quality of food every time. Their Tikka Masala is definitely one of the best Ive had.Lewis and his team are fast and friendly and if you have a question or are looking for a recommendation, Lewis is definitely going to hook you up.Im glad I have discovered the Mumbai Grill and its looking like Im I instantly a regular...and Im ok with that.🤷‍♂️This place is definitely worth a visit. Enjoy!

Long wait needed up leaving after waiting 30 minutes on food I preferred 30 minutes prior to getting there. Very rude to races other then theirs. Also 2 other people left after waiting for so long

Food here is delicious. Unfortunately on my most recent visit not a single employee in sight was wearing a face mask, despite having a sign on the door that says everyone must wear one... Sad that I wont be returning.

Have been going here for over six months. The food has been on point every single time, the staff, is very polite and helps to make things right when small issues arise like forgetting an item ordered. Highly recommend the Malai Chicken Boti, nearly identical to what I was raised up eating

Amazing! Went for our BD dinners (my son & myself) & was our 1st visit here! Everything prepared fresh, pleasant staff, helpful with choices. Had traditional Chia tea. Amazing! Biryani, pleasantly hot with chicken so tender it fell apart. No knife needed! Lamb chops brought to table still sizzling. Taste beyond this world! Will return!

One of the few remaining Authentic North Indian food place. If you want to pay for ambience and not food go ahead to some other place but if you like to taste real stuff, give it a try.I have been going there from last 8 years, it was even better earlier but its still far ahead of other so called “Indian Restaurants”.

Very good Indian & Pakistani...I was very pleased with the food and wait staff.

I ordered two entrees from doordash, butter chicken and afghani chicken. Neither of them came with rice despite costing 13 dollars a piece. I would also be surprised if the amount of chicken was equal to even one breast in the butter chicken. The chicken afghani was whole chicken wings in sauce, even though it wasnt mentioned anywhere there were bones in this dish. You have to pick through the sauce to try to find the bones and get them out. The food was fine, but not for the price without rice and the menu doesnt give all the info it should. I guess I should have not assumed anything about what I was ordering despite always getting rice at other places with entrees, but I am still feeling kind of cheated.

We had four different entrees. Before we order I asked if I could get two of em not spicy and two spicy ones. The servant said I could do that so I gave her the order. The one I wanted with spices came out to be the spicy one and the rest are not. We were fine with ones that are spicy but wanted to exchange the spicy one. Asked her if she could change and her reply was “that’s what the cook makes. I can’t do anything about it”. SERVICE SUCKS. She could’ve asked if we wanted another dish instead as a compliment since it’s her fault giving me the impression that I could order whatever I want with the level of spices I like. Never apologized for her mistake either. Food was decent.

I would say not worth the money . Quality has degraded from the past 6 years I been going there .The biryanis are fresh but frozen. Hyderabad house is 100 times better

Menu badly written not same as online menu. Waitress horrible tried to give us children size cokes. asked for glass of ice said they had no ice. Chicken karahi nothing but bones one small leg $11 no rice. Chicken korma same as Karahi no yogurt in sauce $11 dollars no rice. Samosa was small but only a dollar. So if if you like to smell Indian food but like to go away hungry, dissapointed and feel cheated come here. Or you could go to the other 2 Idian restaurants in town and be satisfied...Um the garlic Naan was good 👍

Great food. The best samosas I have ever had. My family stoped here on our way back home to Wisconsin. This will be a place we stop when we travel through Indiana in the future.

First time to this place and pretty new to the style of cuisine as well. Numi helped us out and let us try several dishes. They were all absolutely great. All of the food was amazing. The atmosphere is basic but he told us that a remodel is in the works. We will be back to see it.

The atmosphere is not welcoming at all, I almost walked out. The food is really good though. So Im glad I didnt walk out. The butter chicken with rice and garlic naan bread was amazing. I wanted to drink the sauce 😊. The yogurt mango drink was good. My two-year-old enjoyed it as well.

I give 1 or 5 stars only, no in between. The food is good but service SUCKS. In order to have a great dine in experience you must have both. Defiant wouldn’t recommend

This is my favorite Indian restaurant hands down. Always tastes very fresh. They have a butcher shop inside the restaurant so I feel like the meat is about as fresh as you can get

I usually dont write reviews but for this restaurant I thought I should. This is by far one of the best Desi restaurants in midwest. All the items I have tried so far have been amazing. Its not pricey and serving portions are really good. Highly recommend.

Great food in the most unassuming of places. This definitely isnt a spot thats going to impress you with charm and atmosphere but the food is top notch.Everything Ive had here has been amazing, even the cauliflower appetizer. And cauliflower is not something Im ordering on a regular basis, but here I would.

We visited this place on Sunday afternoon. Interiors are simple. Staff is prompt. We ordered Chicken Handi, Peshawari Goat Karahi, Naan, Chicken and Goat Biryani. All Items were perfectly cooked, and taste was very nice especially Peshawari Goat Karahi. The quantity of biryani is decent. We took the leftovers home. The prices are reasonable. They also have a butcher shop. I will definitely visit again !

This was my third visit. I really enjoyed the food, experience and their friendliness in my last two visits. Today, my experience was totally different. Even though the food was great, the waiter seems to get mad whatever we do. When I said we have 6 people, he wasnt happy. When we ordered he seems not happy. When I request hot water (since I had cold) he said, they dont have hot water, only have cold water for today.I wonder whether I would recommend to anyone now, I hope things will improve and could visit this place again, especially to enjoy the food!

The food here was really good and tasty. Ive deducted a star for a couple reasons. I ordered karachu chicken, but it didnt come with rice. Rice is a staple in Indian cooking so I was very surprised that I had to purchase that separately. The place itself is not very appealing. There is a butcher section right next to the dining section which is unprofessional.

Butcher is cutting and handling meat with no masks or gloves.

Decor is plain, service is super friendly with a crew of cool and light-spirited Indian guys. Food is fantastic (maybe a dash heavy) with vibrant complex flavors that i have never tasted before in Indian food. Price can end up being a little high because the rice is an additional side for $4.

Clean and spacious dining area. But dont assume very attentive customer service at your table as its a typical desi restaurant. Menu has variety and all halal items, however I feel they charge over the top prices for the quality and quantity that you get in return.
