CPI will never return a call. You may stay on hold for hours before you can talk to someone. I had to cancel my service because I was moving and sold my home. No one ever mentioned that I was signing a 5-year contract when the builder asked me to wire for the security system installation. So, now I have sold my home and am trying to pay-off this contract and cannot get them to follow through on the cancellation order I signed several weeks ago. They just keep billing my bank account. Very unprofessional in terms of customer service. I will never do business with CPI again.

George, our Lead Technician, was outstanding. He is extremely professional and knowledgeable. It was a pleasure having him working in our home. He represented CPI very well, and demonstrated that he is capable of greater responsibilities in the company.

Do yourself a favor, if you are using this for a business DONT BUY IT! They make you sign a minimum of 5 years to get the system and God forbid a pandemic or something happen to your business they require the full amount of your contract to cancel! Absolutely absurd and shows they are vultures in this world of business!! I expected a cancel fee but not the amount of 3 years that are left on it.Find yourself a good reputable company that does security and doesnt make you sign your life away to get it!The only good thing I can say is the women I spoke with who helped me cancel my small businesses contract was very sympathetic and helpful. I will never recommend this company to anyone!

This company lies to customers that threaten to cancel. It says on the contract and website that if you pay off the smart pay equipment balance, you are on a month to month service plan.They train their retention people to tell customers they have to pay 100% of the entire contract which is untrue. Then they play dumb when you show them on their website where it’s stated. Never seen a more sorry excuse for an alarm company.You guys deserved losing all of your partnerships.

Recently worked with Anescia (employee #4949) via text message to upgrade my CPI system. She was extremely helpful. She responded very quickly to all my questions and was able to overcome any obstacle presented. This type of service from lovely people like her is why I am happy to have CPI secure my home.

From the very beginning, when I spoke to Holly Emanuel to the installation by Justin Greene, the service, knowledge, professionalism and friendliness of them both was second to none. First, Holly was great! I explained our needs and she knew immediately what would work for us. Secondly, Justin was very professional and very helpful. I really liked the suggestion he made regarding the installation of the glass break monitor which we purchased in addition. We our great fans of CPI and the service you are providing. We definitely have slept better since the purchase of the security system.

CPI Security system was already in the house that we bought from the previous owner. They would not sign us up as a new customer and provide us with cameras and updated equipment, since there was already service at this house. We went with them with the old system. Called a number of times over the past few years to upgrade because we see all these super deals on commercials, but they say we are not eligible. I finally call another service and get all new technology installed because we really need cameras at our doors. The new company installs all new up-to-date equipment and cameras for a minimal charge. I called to cancel CPI after paying $39.99 on time every month for 3 1/2 years and they say if I cancel then I owe them $600! For what? They gave us no equipment. They say our contract was for 5 years! We have been duped by this company! They should have said, You have been a great customer. We are so sorry to see you go. DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THESE SWINDLERS!!!!Update: CPI has agreed that we do not owe them $600 and has removed the charge.

Our entire experience with CPI has been incredible. After we had a scary attempted break in, I called a few companies before settling on CPI. They were able to get our rep, Keith, to our house that same day to put together our package. Installation was expedited due to the circumstances and we were able to get up and running 2 days later. Our installer Adam was incredibly professional and helpful in making sure we understood the system. And Keirh came out during the install to make sure we were comfortable with everything. I would 100% recommend them to anyone looking for a new home security system. Every person we have dealt with from the company has made the entire process as enjoyable as it can be.

I recently had a question about a possibly suspicious email I received, supposedly from CPI. Although it looked legitimate it wanted me to click on a link. Since we can’t be too careful in this day and age I called CPI about it. The customer service lady who took my call was so helpful and prompt in getting an answer for me. It turned out to be legitimate and she took care of fixing the information that needed fixing. I have been more than pleased with CPI in the 2+ years I have had them for my home security.

I am a new CPI customer and the sales and installation experience has been great! Cyrus worked with me to build a system for my new home that will allow me to remotely monitor the house and feel safe at night. James installed my new system and worked with me on the exact placement for all the sensors, cameras and motion detectors to ensure the most/best coverage for each component. While I was out of state, CPI Security contacted me about a wireless communication failure with my home security panel. Apparently a storm system triggered a temporary power failure that affected the CPI SIM card functionality. The CPI desk informed me that the system was armed but unable to communicate with the monitoring desk. Upon my return home, I contacted CPI to test the alarm and they validated the SIM card was not sending a wireless digital signal. So they scheduled a technician visit in six days for a repair...at no charge.I appreciated the friendly customer support but disappointed in the six day wait time for a diagnostic repair.

I started a new business and needed a security system. I chose CPI. Unfortunately, I did realize I had agreed to a 5 year contract when I signed on with them. I did enjoy the ease of use of the system. However, unfortunately for me, I had to close my business. Before contacting CPI to cancel my service I raved to my landlord how wonderful they were as she was wanting to continue the service while the building was empty. She had a different service for her home but on recommendation went with CPI. I then contacted CPI to cancel my service. They asked if they could quote service for my home. I agreed and made an appt for install. When the installer showed up he said I would have to sign a 4 year agreement since I cancelled my business early. I told him no way. When I spoke to the representative at CPI they said it was too bad my business closed, they appreciated my landlord taking a one year commitment but they were holding me to the 5 years the contract had in it and I would have to either pay them the full amount owed or continue service in my home. I told them I was not in a position to agree to a 4 year commitment and they simply said too bad. DO NOT SIGN AN AGREEMENT WITH THIS COMPANY!! THEY DO NOT TELL YOU IN ADVANCE THE LENGTH OR THE PENALTYS TO CANCEL EVEN IF ITS DUE TO GOING OUT OF BUSINESS!!!

Called a few weeks ago for a camera installation. When I ask CPI if I had to be there for the installation they said no. The day the technician came got call from CPI said they were waiting on me. Or to see if I was close. Apparently I had to be there for the install.Five minutes later I called to say I was on the way and they said they had already canceled. They said they call my wife too for the install. They did not. No call, No warning, no heads up to let’s us know they were still coming. We knew because it was on our calender. Still a coursity heads up would have been nice.

The process was very easy and convenient. Matt Moehlman, our CPI Rep, did a great job explaining all of the options and plans available. The installation was great as well. The installers were on time and thorough. The made sure everything was set up and working and took the time to explain the system to us.I would highly recommend CPI Security in Greenville to everyone. Matt and his team did a great job and followed up to make sure we were happy.

CPI is the worst, Ive had the service for 4 years and they wont allow us to have a better camera that is apart of the security package. For what they charge a month and having paid them for 48 months there is no reason why they cant take care of their customers and allow them to use their service with the appropriate equipment.Do yourself a favor, look elsewhere because after CPI has you locked into a contract you are screwed and they dont care about you until the agreement is about to expire.

I have been a customer for 10 years. I upgraded my equipment 3 years ago because I wanted an indoor camera, has never worked properly. When I phoned wanting to take advantage of some of the new upgrades i was told quite abruptly and rudely that I wasnt eligible and it would cost me hundreds of dollars for the upgrades and to pay for a technician to come out. To end my contract it would cost me $1300, I calculated it has cost me nearly $6000 to CPI for monitoring and equipment probably worth about $2000. When I asked to be put through to a manager, I was put on hold for so long that I eventually gave up. I am furious with CPI, their customer service and how they treat their long term customers.

Caution signing a contract with CPI, they demand 75% of the premium from the rest of the contract if you try to cancel. That doesnt seem reasonable, I learned the hard way.In response to CPI reply below: If the intention is to recoup cost of equipment, then charge me for that when breaking contract. 75% of 5 years @ $40/month is $1800, much much more than the simple system you all installed in my home. And Ive not been contacted. So once again, buyer beware.

The mobile app is hit and miss. Takes forever for it to arm and/or disarm. Sometimes it never does using the app. I do like that you can regulate the thermostats. I think monthly fee is way overpriced though.

I had a CPI Security system installed in our new home upon going to closing on December 30th. They have been wonderful to work with every step of the way. I have had the privilege to work with Joe McCavitt and he has been amazing throughout the process and always there to answer any questions I might have. The system works great and it is user friendly and not an eye sore with the décor of your home. I love that you have the option to control the system from your smartphone or a key fob. It is such wonderful peace of mind to have the CPI system installed in our home and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a quality wonderful company to work with.

Be very careful of this place! I signed a 5 year agreement at $45.00 per month for a total of over $2700.00 on the condition that I would get to keep my security equipment. Well my 5 years ended today and I called to cancel service because my plans were to just keep my equipment operational without allowing it to communicate with CPI. My logic was that if a burglar decides to break into my house and they hear an alarm go off that it would be just as effective because the burglar wouldnt know if I had a subscription or not. Come to find out today that once you cancel, CPI sends a tech out to remove the computer in the security system making the system obsolete. So yes, you get to keep the equipment but it wont even turn on or chime unless you keep your monthly subscription making it totally useless. Maybe it was my fault for not reading the fine print but Im pretty upset because of the way they present the package is very misleading. I just want to let other people know who are thinking of using the system the same way. Instead of paying $2700 there are lots of other systems below $1000 and includes more options and works just as good or if not better. I would not recommend CPI to friends or family unless I knew they were looking for a lifetime subscription.

CPI of Greenville is a great company. John Gsell at CPI is an awesome guy. We have had several alarm systems Installed with CPI and you wont find a better company. I tried to make an appointment twice for installation of the security system, but both times i got stood up. When they finally called me hours after standing me up, I didnt even get an apology. Terrible customer service!!
